Lou - the baby is sooooo cute! Do you think s/he looks more like you, or DH?

Nancy and Crissy - yay! More newbies! Weird that some people are finding out sexes, and we are still dying for our first u/s. So we will band together as the newbies!

Timber - you had your ER on 2.15? Then we are REAL due date buddies - I did too! According to calculators, I'm due Nov 8 - you too, right? I'm so sorry about your OHSS - that sounds awful. Feel better soon!

Ryan - that's too fun about how you picked your OB! But I guess it works! -- 3meals! That's fantastic! I'm so glad you are feeling better. HG sucks so much. I've puked once already and had lots of nausea and dry retching this morning.... but I'm hoping that's just nerves. Even in my last two pregnancies I didn't start to barf until 5 weeks! I thought I had another week to eat!

Ashley - as for picking OBs, I asked around my friends and who they used. I got some advice about a high risk doctor (I was pregnant with twins) and went to see her. I liked her! This time around, I'm sooooo much more high-risk - so I have to talk to her about what steps she is willing to take to help ease my mind and monitor me closely. I'm going to need a lot of hand-holding this pregnancy! Also - these people are SUPER nice. You'll love them all! :D

Karen - thanks!

Rio - I hear you on having to pick names that are the same in two languages. I have to find one that is good in Hebrew and English. (I know it's waaaay too early for me to be talking about names, but I *love* the name Daphne for a girl, even though it's abit old-fashioned)

Zoe - I wasn't miserable at 22 weeks with twins. I think it depends on how you carry them. But I would definitely get as much fun stuff as you can done before you get huge! Not sure what they give pregnant women for pink eye, but my dad is an eye doctor and there are lots of things you can do to prevent spreading it.

AFM - not all that much new today. beta is tomorrow. First u/s hopefully in a week (5w2d), with another one the week after (6w2d). DH thinks it's twins, but I'm really hoping not. I guess we'll know in about week! Any advice on how to pass the time between betas and first u/s? I'm freaking out because I know that the vast majority of miscarriages happen before week 6 -- I just want to get to 10weeks already!
I'm trying sooooo hard to focus on the positive. If I have a 10% miscarriage risk - that means a 90% chance of a healthy baby in November. 90% ! Also, as much as I know all the horrible ways this could go wrong, I keep trying to remind myself that ALL healthy babies start off in pregnancies like this. EVERYONE who has a healthy baby is at some point 4 weeks pregnant..... I hope I stay pregnant for a loooooong time!

I'll update with a beta number tomorrow! wooohooo!

Welcome Nancy and huge congrats on your BFP!! I'm inspired by you having two! I'm going to be 40 in September and we have five frosties that we want to put in about six months after this one is born. I can understand how exhausted you are - I was a mess for the first 11 weeks or so. I hope you feel better soon! Again, congrats and welcome to the board.
Sonya: I'm happy to hear that you're going for a second round close to delivery of your first. Due to various factors, hubby and I are also going to try for a second baby ASAP. At times, the idea seems kind of scary... Going from 0 to 2 babies in such a short period of time. Have you spoken to your doctor about timing? We are wondering what the recommended turn around time is for the uterus. Also, we're planning to breastfeed so that will have to stop prior to IVF according to what I've read.

HopeisallIhave - I'm with you - I did not cycle with anyone here - just barged in when I got my bfp! I have a terrible time keeping track of everyone but I learn something everytime I log in. Good luck on your ultrasound and picking an OB! I got a recommendation from my contact at the local mothers of multiples club and she happened to be the doc who was on duty when I delivered my 3 year old, and was with my current OBGYN practice. I also asked for recommendations on our local community's "moms like me.com" discussion board.

Rio - Hoping for the best echocardiogram!

afm - DH and I are getting ready to leave for our appointments. We get to see the boys!!! They seem pretty excited, too. Jaxon"s giving my ribs a beating as I type.

I'm also glad I FINALLY meet with my actual OB to ask about all the stuff I've been wanting to ask about. Hopefully she has more time for me during our second meeting... I checked when we scheduled the appt, she's not on call today. Fingers crossed!

Leora - Hey Due Date Buddy! Yes, my date is November 8 according to the calculators. I'm waiting by the phone now waiting for my 2nd beta results. Looking forward to hearing yours.

The fluid is back and I'll probably have to be drained again before the weekend. I'm not allowed to go to work and I'm going stir crazy!

Timber - I had OHSS with my first IVF pregnancy and it was so painful. I had to be drained twice and was in hospital for 4 days. Hang in there - hope your beta is great!

Ryann -- Glad you have gotten your appetite back! I hope it stays so you can put on some lbs for the little buggers.

Crissy -- Welcome! So sorry about the OHSS.

Timber -- 5 liters of fluid! OMG... you poor thing. Good luck on your second beta.

Nancy -- Congrats on your BFP!

Leora -- So far the baby definitely takes after me...lol... ha ha. I can't wait for your beta number tomorrow! Seems you've had BFP pee sticks for a long time now.

Sonya and Bunny -- I can't believe you two are already talking about #2. I am still focused on having one. After what I went through... 6 ET's.... I don't know if more IVF is in the cards for us. Maybe we'll get lucky naturally.

Rio -- How was your fetal echocardiogram? Is that a routine test? I don't think I've heard of that before. Of course, I'm totally new to this and there's a lot I haven't heard of.

AFM -- This kid is such an energy suck man. I am soooo tired. I work 9hr days and commute an hour each way so I'm forced to be out and about for a minimum of 11-12 hrs each day. It's getting old real fast. I feel like around 2PM, I need a nap for an hour or so but that's just not possible. I'm not getting any sympathy around here from my boss who knows I'm pregnant. No spotting today yet, but the blood from the small SCH will have to make it's way out sometime. Hopefully it heals up fast. I'd love to be able to do some light workouts a few days a week. So far I'm doing a spin class once a week on Tuesday's at about 60% effort and I'm playing tennis once a week on Saturday mornings for 1.5 hrs. I love tennis and I'm not willing to give it up. RE said it's fine as long as I don't "sprint" too much. I'm playing doubles so that isn't much of a problem. I think I'll add 45 min on the elliptical at home on either Sun or Mon as well as two 30-40 min weight circuits per week also Tuesday before spin and Thurs evening. I'm hoping the exercise will help replenish my energy levels. At least it worked that way before I was pregnant. No matter how tired I was, I would force myself to hit the gym and I never once regretted it.

Nancy, Crissy and Timber welcome and congrats on your pregnancies

baby blue I love the belly pic :)

AFM nothing new really. My energy level has really increased from the terrible first trimester where I was constantly morning sick. I have now gained 3 lb but some how I feel like my belly is huge. I can feel the baby kick quite a bit which is very reassuring. I will have my next ultrasound in 1 week so maybe we will know the sex then :) Thank you girls for all your advise on telling my best friend...I finally told her I am pregnant this week and she was so happy for me and that made me so happy. Thanks Ryann, Leora, and Zoe for the suggestions in picking out my OB. So I went to the website of the hospital that I want to deliver at and found the OB that was recommended by my neurologist. I looked her up on Yelp and liked what I read. Just to be on the safe side and out of curiosity, I also texted my sister to see who she was seeing, and she texted back with that very same doctor's name! Well, today I called to make an appt with her and unfortunately, she's all booked till end of April/beginning of May :(
So.. for the time being, I made an appointment with another NP at that practice in the hopes of switching to the other OB later. They have me scheduled for next Wednesday. I'll only be 7w5d then. Is that too soon? Should I schedule the appt later? I have no idea what I'm doing. I have an appt with a NP at my RE's office this Friday, so maybe I could ask her when they're planning on releasing me to my OB.

Rio - how did the fetal echocardiogram go? I'm sure you have one healthy baby girl baking in there!

Chrissy & Timber - congrats on your BFP! Sorry it came with an ugly prize, but hope you ladies start feeling better soon! I had mild OHSS after my ER. The day before my transfer I gained 4 lbs. Barely able to walk properly, DH and I went on a 4AM run to Safeway to buy a few bottles of gatorade. I drank tons and tons of it in the hopes of not getting cancelled the next day. The RE did not seem too concerned though and went ahead with the transfer. The hCG did make things a bit worse for a while, but gatorade helped me snap back quickly.

Leora - can't wait to hear your beta result tomorrow!

Lou - I have no idea how you can muster up the energy to do all that! I need at least an hour nap in the afternoon and even then, I pass out cold by 10 PM! DH tries to make me stay awake till past 12 and sometimes I'm able to do it, but then I crash hard! And before this, I always had insomnia, so I'm liking the change a bit. :P

Anna - so glad to hear your best friend was happy for you! You must be relieved.

Happy hump day, everyone!

Dandme, Leorira, Lou, Anna, Hope thanks for the welcome. Hope that's so cool that you can feel ur baby. Makes it all so real.

TIMBER- Sorry about your OHSS. I didn't know they could drain you while ur preggo. I suppose my RE didn't offer it to me since my breathing is okay. The pain was so bad this morn that I had to go back to doc, and they did off to admit me overnight for observation but I declined. Going to try n ride it out at home. I hope you start improving soon. Good luck on Beta #2. Keep us posted

Nancy-congrats on ur BFP. You must be so stoked. I can't even imagine what that lost must have been like but I'm glad to see you persevered. I wanted to ask...when you had OHSS that time did your swelling go down b4 your preggo bump began to show, or did you just stay that way? I'm so swollen now that I look 5-6 mos preggo. I'm on bed rest til Mon and I planned on trying to conceal the pregnancy as long as possible, but I fear there's going to be a lot of questions a lot sooner considering they way I look.

Everyone else congrats on ur status and good luck the rest of the way.

I'm so glad you are feeling better. Getting out of T1 was such a huge change for me. I felt like a new person! I'm glad you told your friend.. even if it stings a little she must be very happy for you. She'll have her time! I love baby kicks... right now he's kicking right above my pubic bone.... last week it was above my belly button. LOL

I'm not thinking I'm a candidate for a c-section - I've already had two normal vaginal births so this baby should be no problem. I think it's more an issue with breastfeeding... you can't do the hormones I don't think when you are breastfeeding. I'm hoping to get baby boy to 6 months and then start my FET cycle. Don't think we'll do another IVF but I am anxious to see if we get a sticky bean in our five frozen embies.

beta today is 200! Woohoo! It's actually a bit lower than my betas have been in the past (today is 16dpo, and usually I have beta at 17dpo - with my twins, beta was 450 and with my singleton, beta was 350). I'm hoping it's still a good enough number! I checked on betabase - and the average for 16dpo is 204 for a singleton - so I'm right on track!

My clinic doesn't do more than one beta if the first one is good. Next step is an early ultrasound a week from today (5w2d). I know it's too early to see a heartbeat then, but they want to check for twins. I don't think so based on my beta, but we did transfer 2 - so it's best to check.

I started feeling super nauseous in the mornings. I swim - and I was trying hard not to puke in the pool this monrning! I've had HG with both previous pregnancies, so I'm expecting it this time too. Maybe I should try to eat extra this week for all the months of puking coming up!

I'm oddly extremely optimistic about this. Somehow I feel like I really will bring home my rainbow baby in November.

Nancy & Crissy - I was afraid had OHSS this cycle. About a day after ER, I swelled up to about 6 months pregnant size! It went down mostly by my ET 5 days later - and lucky my BFP hasn't brought it back. RE said it's probably "mild OHSS" and that if I'm feeling okay now, I'm fine. But I can't wear my regular pants! 4wks feels a little too early to pull the maternity stuff out of the closet, so I'm sticking to sweat pants this week!

Ashley (Hope is all I have) - Congrats on finding an OB!I have no advice on how soon to see the OB. Has your REs office told you? I usually have u/s at 5.5, 6.5 and 8 weeks at the RE, then he gives me a form filled out with all my pregnancy/IVF info and tells me to call my OB. I saw my OB for the first time at 10wks with my twins.

Anna - yay for growing bellies! How about a picture so we can see how huge you are getting?

Lou - yes, growing another person takes a TON of energy. I used to come home from work, go straight to sleep and wake up the next morning. It'll get better.

Timber - hurray for Nov 8 -- although personally, I'm hoping to go 3 days late..... 11/11/11 would be an awesome birthday!

Stephanie - how are your boys doing? How was your OB appt?

Rio - Just curious, why are they doing a fetal echo? Did they see a problem at your anatomy scan? I have fetal echos done (actually, never got to it, delivered my twins the day before my fetal echos were scheduled) because I take Effexor (anti-depressant) which can cause heart defects.

cheers!
