Hi everyone

Janine
so so sorry to hear about your negative result life is just so cruel, take some time to do plenty of shopping even though it doesn't really help much it might help for a few moments.

Chubbs
Glad to hear your follies are finally playing the game! Lets hope they carry on over the weekend and are looking good on monday.

Sandra
Hope you are feeling a bit more comfortable now.I always think et is the worst bit never mind being in pain before you start. Well done for being so brave. Now you just have to survive the 2ww.

Staci
sorry to hear your tmt was cancelled, but I guess it is best to get these things sorted out to maximise your chances.I am sure you ar edissapointed but hopefully not as much as you would have been with a bfn.November will be here before you know it and just think what a good christmas present a bfp will be!!!!

Wendy
How are you doing ? It is nice to have someone testing on the same day. I am not very confident though,I started the knicker checking before they even went back in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! only 11 more days to survive!!!!

Hope everyone else is ok . Have a good weekend.

Hi Ellie

Hope you are ok, I am knicker checking as well and have been since Wednesday. Especially everytime I get a twinge and I know its the damn pessaries that doing that. Everytime I come back from the toilet I keep telling my dh that the embryos are still in there. although the size they are how would you know!

I feel much more positive this time than I have before, the FET just seems so easy compared to the full cycle. I'm still counting on the fact that because I am going to be bridesmaid for the first time ever in March that fate will be bound to make me good and round for my posh frock.

Alicia, it must be nice to be doing a natural FET, no side effects at all, the hot flushes are not making me a very happy person, you'd think living in freezing Scotland I'd be glad of them but we are having a mini heatwave!

I know what you mean about the planning thing, its a bugger! There's not much chance of accidental for us either, my tubes are blocked and on one side the tubes stuck to the bowel and the ovary on the other side is stuck so they are not in line (caused by endometriosis) and I take the pill for 6 packs at a time to avoid periods because they are so bad. This is our 5th attempt and I have enough frosties (3) left for one more shot (hopefully for a sibling for these ones - if they stay put) then thats us finished, not sure I could do another EC as my endometriosis makes it really painful. Still I know We would be great parents if not this way then some other way.

Hope everyone has a good weekend

Hi Girls .... Thanks for all your posts. I feel a bit better today, thank goodness, although I could still easily pop !

Ellie - you have made me laugh ... I too found myself knicker checking on Wed (day of EC) ! Insane or what ?

Alicia .. At last things are moving along for you. Hoorah ! Good luck for your scan on Wed. Re the frosties - I've always thought that they left the embryos to divide for a good few days before freezing ... that way they're sure that they're viable ..? I'm sure your frosties are just fine so pls don't worry. I would much rather have seen mine frozen at 5 days.

Janine ... I'm so sorry you got a negative yesterday. I know what you must be going through and hope you're feeling a little better today. I'm sure the shopping helped a little.

Chubbs ... So, follies are now growing ! Ha ha ! What did I tell you ! Well done ... you could have quite a few more by Monday

Candy - Well done on your 8 follies so far Candy. As we saw with Chubbs, anything can happen in a couple of days, so don't give up the PMA :D

Caroline - not long now 'till EC on Monday. I'm sure you're ready for it ... hang on in there !!

Dolly ... Hope you're okay and feeling +ve !! today in this lovely weather .... how's treatment going Dolly ?

Jeanie - not long to go now. Real good luck for EC on Mon. 15 follies with 5 over 16mm already is really good news. All fingers crossed for a bumper crop of eggs .... wait for your news on Monday .. Good luck !! :D

Hope ... I've still got all my fingers and everything else crossed for you ... I hope your test on Monday is good news

Jaye ...You mean you could actually see baby embi dividing ? (or am I being daft ?). If so, I'm amazed. It must have been awesome ..!! I hope AF turns up soon. If I'm desperate for AF (which is rare !), a warm bath usually does the trick.

...Caroline .... one other (small !) thing ... how did your scan go yesterday ?

Paige ... I've posted on your other thread, but once again WELL DONE !! :D :D

Staci - It's typical that you'd run into this couple yesterday, of all days. Why do things work out like that ..? It must be to test us. I know what you mean re the "more wasted time", but you've got to use these 3 months positively and to your advantage. You need to ensure you're at your most tip top conceivable (ha ha - unintentional pun) best to be ready for the embies ..... make sure that you now keep away from all those negative influences - caffeine, smoking, alcohol (okay, you can have one or two) etc and think positively about what you can do now to ensure you sail through Nov's cycle .... good diet, destress etc. Okay. Enough of the lecture ! You take care x

Angela - I'm sorry to see you're so down. We need to get some PMA going here .... Firstly, it's really good news that AF has arrived - that's the first hurdle over. Let's not even think about the cycle being abandoned pls...In my bible (Zita West - "Fertilitiy and Conception") it says "some clinics allow you to stay on the suppression medication for a while to see if the cyst disappears on its own. Some clinics will want to remove or drain the cyst before continuing, while others will keep you on the cycle to see if oestradiol levels fall". So, obviously, every clinic/hospital has their own protocol.... When was your last scan Ang ..? Was this your baseline scan on Day 2 of cycle ..? If so, anything can have happened since then. Keep trying to imagine the cyst sat there shrinking, shrinking, shrinking away, until it's just a pin prick. PMA ! PMA ! Forget that holiday for now and next year you can start looking for a hol with babysitting facilities. :D

Mon Ka ... Welcome to the site ! I'm sorry to hear your experience ... I hope you can get some answers from your clinic. My hospital stipulate a clear 3 Afs between medicated cycles. They say this is because your body may still be harbouring drugs from the last cycle, and/or hormone levels may not be back to normal. In turn, this means that on the new cycle, your body could react unpredicatably, or not at all, to the medication. That's only my hospital's view though ... each hospital / clinic has it's own ideas and protocols ... and mine seems to be different from most in a few ways... eg freeze embryos on day 2, 2ww is actually 17 day wait (which is evil !) ...

Shannon - Hi there and welcome. Well done on getting through EC and fertilisation stage .. ! Best of luck for ET on Tuesday, let us know how it goes.

...Ellie ... forgot to say ... I'm glad ET went well. The 2 little ones will now be getting down, nice and comfy !!

Wendy - Of course they're still in there ! You must start talking to them, and reassuring them that it's going to be a long 9 months .. but that you'll be there for them and will look after them :D

Barny .. Only 3 more days 'till test ! Wow ! That's gone quick (for me, not for you !! :P ). Let's see another big smilie face added to the test list pls ..... you can do it .. PMA ..... you can do it .... PMA ..... you can do it .... PMA (...shall I go on ..?)

Mia ... good luck Mia, thinking of you

I hope everyone else is feeling okay on this beautiful (in Lancs !) day.

Well ..... all that typing was tiring ...! Back to bed I think

Angela,

You are in the exact same situation I was in. Unfortunately, I don't think I am a good person to try to tell you to persevere if they tell you to keep downregging. My clinic started to suggest that I take birth control pills (I think the same thing as norethisterone) along with the Lupron (same thing as you call buserelin) to shrink the cysts but that would have meant downregging for who knows how many more weeks when I was already going on 3 weeks and I really just couldn't take anymore. I mean I don't understand why they didn't just suggest that earlier on. I was almost happy when they discovered the fibroid that needed to be removed because that made them think I should cancel this cycle. So, while I was sad that I got started for nothing and that now I'm back at square one, I was also relieved just to stop taking Lupron and go back to feeling like myself.

Hope things are clear for you on Tues. so you can just move on to the next part of this!

Hi Girls,

So I am really nervous right now! I had twenty eggs fertilize and my doctor was planning a five day transfer for Tuesday -- but he just called and said that only three of my 20 are good quality and they can't wait for the five day transfer, I am to go in right now! I had to put the suppository in and wait 15 minutes and head to the office! I am having acupuncture done both before and after the transfer -- I hope that helps calm my nerves! We aren't even sure of the quality of the three they are transferring. Please keep me in your thoughts. You all are in mine!

Thanks!

Hi all,

been too knackered with the travelling to switch the pc til now and a lot seems to have happened since Fri. Firstly really sorry, Janine, to hear about your -ve. Take good care of yourself, maybe treat yourself to a massage or something - after all your body's been through a lot. Also, Staci, what a bummer after your long wait to have to abandon the whole thing. But there's no point doing it if you're body's not ready so it's got to be the right decision.

But fantastic news for Paige, I'm really pleased for you. Let's hope you're the first of many.

I still haven't done my trigger injection so EC won't be happening tomorrow - my oestrodil levels are too high. Apparently I've got at least 30 follies, which I'm stunned by, and at the scan this morning they said they were probably ready (we don't get any of this detail about sizes of follicles) but they want my hormone levels to come down. This morning they were at 16000, by lunchtime they were down to 15000, though I have to admit these figures mean absolutely nothing to me. I think they want them at around 10000 before they'll trigger me. Earliest I'm going to manage EC now is Wed and that's if they trigger me tomorrow night, so a bit longer to wait. I'm trying not to get too excited at having so many follies, I know it won't be 30 eggs, but it's gotta be a good sign, hasn't it? Shannon's post about going from 25 to 20 to 3 has put it in perspective a bit but I know it only takes one.

Shannon, I hope ET went well and that you're getting some rest now.

I'm getting worried that EC or its aftermath is going to be painful because I've got so many follies - I expect to get a bit bloated but am scared by Sandra's description of being like a balloon ready to pop. Currently I don't feel anything in my ovaries. Does this mean it's likely to be easier? God I hope so.

I am overflowing with water, I think yesterday I drank about 7 litres, and am thirsty all the time. I'm really nervous about not being able to drink from midnight on the day of EC as I think I might die of thirst!

Sorry I can't keep up with what's happening for everyone, but all the best for Mia testing tomorrow and I hope the knicker-checkers are staying sane!

Hi Caroline

30 follicles ! Goodness Caroline ! I believe that one of the symptoms of mild OHSS is thirst .... I found out on Friday at ET that my levels had been 13,000 before the late night HCG. Apparently my hospital continue the cycle if levels are below 16,000. If yours is waiting for you to get down to 10,000 that's got to be much healthier. Keep drinking the water, and I read on another post that Belsy was advised to up her protein intake to counteract the effect. I started feeling bloated on day 5 of stimming (and stimmed for 10 days), so if you're not yet feeling it, that has to be a good sign. I didn't realise that levels could drop so quickly ... down 1,000 between morning and lunchtime .... that's got to be due to all the water. Keep it up Caroline ... the more you can drink now, the less chance of discomfort later, and hopefully you'll be ready for HCG tomorrow.

Shannon and Scott,

Hope your ET goes well - although you've probably finished by now. Don't worry about the number of embies. You probably wouldn't want to transfer more than 3 anyway.

Hope you enjoy lots of rest and time off. I loved being forced to stay in bed, watching movies and reading books all day. And also feeling an occasional precious little twinge, which I imagined to be the embies trying to implant.

Hope the 2ww is not too greuling for you. Best of luck!

Caroline,

What a lot of follies! I would guess that it's good to have a lot, as long as you don't get OHSS, but it sounds like you're drinking your water and doing everything right!

Angela,

So sorry you are not feeling yourself. I actually felt better when I was taking the hormones. This natural FET cycle has me feeling a bit depressed, actually. I have to say, I think we ALL want our lives back :?

I hope your cyst melts away completely. You still have a good chance for a successful cycle and we are all pulling for you. Good luck for your scan.

Hi! Jeanie here. Thanks to you all for the encouragement and reassurance, it really makes a huge difference knowing we are going through the same thing.

Staci - so sorry to hear about this cycle not going ahead. Hang on in there and the next one will be here before you know it. x

Janine - big hug to you. Was this your first go?

Alicia - is it hard not being able to drink at all? I've been missing having a beer the past couple of months, hope you find it easier than I would! Enjoy your sedation and hopefully you'll have success and the hormones will give you a natural high. x

Wendy - I didn't know dh could come in too. I think it would blooming well do the men good to see what goes on eh. Don't think it's common practise at my hospital, but I will certainly ask! Thanks x

Candy - don't worry, your follies sound fine! It's great they are all the same size, plus more could grow anyway. I have quite a few but at different ends of the size spectrum so not all can be used. Remember, quality is the most important and too many would put you at risk of OHSS.

Strange, I feel much more knowledgeable now than a few weeks ago, thanks to you chaps. Just had my pregnyl injection tonight - no more injections, yipee!!!!! By the way, has anyone else put on weight during this? I gave up smoking recently and being on the drugs have not felt very energetic either. Take care everyone, love Jeanie xxxxxxxxxx
