BigJ

We're flying out to Barcelona on Sunday.

Everything was penciled in for next Wednesday/Thursday but when I had my scan this week I was 12mm with a triple layer appearance  According to my doctor this is very good & so the clinic have reassigned us a donor who looks on course for EC on tomorrow with ET on Monday. They think she should produce 10 oocytes. So fingers crossed & thank goodness for lastminute.com!!

In answer to your question, they don't want the rest of the money until you get to ET. Bank transfer is probably the best way as carrying that amount of Euros round the streets of Barcelona wiuldn't be very wise!

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter.

love

wow Jude, 12mm triple layer womb lining     what a star your womb fairy must be :) I am so excited for you and it's wonderful for me to know that IM are so flexible and supportive, oh I am so excited for you I could cry with happiness    !!!

I saw Joy's posts about Kiev and choked on my Pinot Grigio (I have given up smoking...) at the cost being half of IM and felt guilty as mom is paying - but then I worked out that getting last minute flights from Hamburg to most Eastern places would be a nightmare and we love Barcelona so we'll enjoy the process and it's the results that count and now you you wonderful girl have just confirmed that IM dudes are stars

I send mega +++++++++hug++++++++++ to you, dh and your embies and the womb fairy. You must be so excited..

loads and loads of love and baby dust

Long shot over - af showed this morning. I'm not sad. I am NEVER late, so to miss by 3 days really had me wondering. My body is still probably resettling after the Feb EC.

I'll start bc pills on Easter Sunday. Hey, I just had a thought. This could be my last period for a long time if I get pregnant in June??:D :D
Also, I like being on the bc pills because my boobs get bigger and it takes me back to the days when I was 18-21 and on the pill for the first time. :D

I'm assuming everyone who goes on them at the beginning of their tmt also does not take the placebo pills - only active bc pills until start of stimming drugs? I'll be on them about 8 weeks straight.

Jude....wow what great news from your scan and how fabulous that the clinic are so responsive and flexible. You must be very excited. Good luck.

Randa...the pill didn't make my boobs big in fact I had nothing but trouble with it for the first few years, it all led to my then-DH and I decided that my getting the snip was the right thing to do aged 27...oh boy was I wrong. Sorry that your AF arrived after all. Would have been a whole heap more romantic a conception! I don't know the answer to your bc question though.

BigJ...yes people really are tall in your family aren't they? I come from a family of Cornish seafarers (or were they really pixies?), most of the men aren't over 5'4"!!!! I'm with a pc game buff too...right now he's HUGELY into World of Warcraft which came out 3 weeks ago, he's crazy about it. Nearly your birthday......

Am feeling much, much better. My throat is still very sore and my voice fabulously husky but it was short-lived thank goodness.

Hi Girls
the pill made me bloated and now HRT is doing the same, I'm carrying about 10 extra KG so the big boobs are accompanies by wobbly belly too, lucky that I am so tall as it doesn't really show just puches me into bigger jeans..who cares???

D -dh plays Diablo and Wof warcraft with his son online, I sometimes join in the Diablo. personally I like Age of Empires (Mythology) cos you can whizz around building things, I hate the fighting bits they make me nervous!! Glad you are feeling better. Husky voices are cool aren't they? When I lived in Paris I used to sing in a choir and the 30 Malboro a day were key to my Marlena Dietrich voice ...the things we do for fame and fortune..

Sorry about long shot Randar. When DH had his Vasectomy reversal I used to pretend each month that I could be pg, even though they said that with the clumping antibodies this was impossible, I always thought there was an outside chance. The nice thing is it makes you make love more and stay close, which is very hard once the IVF route is determined I have found. Lukcily my dh is a star and very understanding.

wish I could start now!

Love bigJ (another year wiser I hope!!)

Oh yeah! It's JUDE that's in front of me
I'll be 44 in Sept, but notice how I like to make the age difference seem soooo big (I'm really right behind you) 8)
Anyway, the 40s aren't what they used to be for women or men.
Now that we live so much longer and are so much healthier, the 40s today are like the 30s were for people in our parent's generation.
It's true! I read it somewhere, so it must be, right? :D

Hi Ladies,

I've not been watching the board for a while - and what a busy lot you have been!

Happy belated birthday bigJ - I'm not that far behind you, I will be 42 in the winter.

Flights from Germay to Kiev are easy - my DH went with Luthansa and had to change at Munic. He was only there for 48 hours so his flight was quite pricey at £250. I got a cheaper one with KLM at £140. Both were from Heathrow, but we could have just as easily gone from elsewhere.

If you want a holiday Barcelona wins over Kiev any day of the week. But for treatment, well, you pays your money and you makes your choice............................As you know, I thought the treatment in Kiev was excellent, and as you say, it's the results that count, I will know on Friday if it worked.

Oh, (hope you are not sipping wine at the moment!), the other clinic in Kiev, IRM (Institute for Reproductive Medicine) offers DE IVF for even less - they charge just 2,700EUR!

Jude - fantastic lining - hope you are enjoying sunny Barcelona and that ET went well. Let us know how many they put back and how many got frozen.

Debra - hope the meds are going OK.

Randa- sorry af arrived, but now you will be able to harvest yet another bumper crop of embies.

Good luck to all the ladies in waiting.

Sometimes I am amazed at the technology we have at our disposal, 15 years ago where would we all have been....counting my lucky stars and taking hope from all of you..

Talked to my sis over skype this afternoon, she spent the whole time talking about her SIL who is due to deliver in the next week or so and how ehr's is due in 3 months and how that should help me be positive. :? ..I am trying but feel like I need a good cry. It's so good ladies to hear your news, it keeps me strong.
