Em!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am just plain thrilled for you!!!! Of course it will be challenging but your hands will be full. . .of blessings!!!! How wonderful and meant to be!!!! I am still b-feeding but AF returned around the babies 4 month birthday so at least I can have some idea of what is happening. I would secretly LOVE one more but dh may need a bit more time. For us, if no more babies come naturally then we are probably done with IVF. Keep us informed. We miss you TONS!!! Photos of Jasper and Finn if you have time! :D :D :D

Laura~ Poor Jeremy lookin' like he's a boxer already! My MIL was recently playing Tug-O'-War with our lab Lucy DIRECTLY ABOVE BODIE!!!!! It's a no brainer to guess that she pounced right on his tummy and left a nice claw mark. Not to mention this is my baby with the health issues already so needless to say it has reconfirmed why she has never, and will never babysit our kids. You must take some pics! I bet it's sorta cute in a sad baby loves his dog way??? :? Also, I'm with ya as far as bolting the dresser to the wall! I'm hoping to get that done sooner than later.

Kimi~ Goodies is so great! I would love to live down inthe north end still but unfortunately we need a lot of space for our business and we ended up with a 1.25 acres toward Eagle and Meridian. I still get down there quite a bit though. We were at 8th St. Marketplace today and you should see how it's changed. The weather had been BEATUTIFUL!!!!!! My friends from Portland that are staying this weekend are in for such a great treat!

better run since my house guests should be here very soon!
Take care~

Hi All,

Em - though I have not chatted with you before, congratulations! It must have been a big surprise. Here is to smooth 8 months ahead!

Kim - I hope your little Ellie is feeling better. Sean is the same way, he has runny nose constantly being at the daycare. The humedifier is a must in his room. Now that they have taken the cold med for babies off the shelf, pretty much the saline spray and humedifier are the only things we can give him.

Kimberly - Oh I've heard that Eagle and Meridian are so different now. It must be very pretty where you live. Last time I visited Boise was the summer of 06' and I was surprised by how many posh restaurants and bars are out there now. Yeah Northend is pretty cute. I literally lived across the street from Goodies and Stargarnett (?). Brings back memories! It really is a nice family friendly city. But now that I am used to a milder winter (lived in Sydney AUS and California before moving to Seattle), I think Boise's winter may be too cold for me now! It must be nice to catch up with your friends. Enjoy!

I am looking forward to the 1 mo check up next week. I am hoping the twins hit the 7 lbs mark, but I think I am asking too much! Their term due date is March 19th (40th week), so I think they will be 7lbs by then for sure. Actually, I was supposed to have a C-section tomorrow if my water didn't break early!

Anyway, hope all is well with everyone.
Alyson is making noise again.

Kimberly--It would have taken all my strength to not scream at my MIL if she did that to my kids. Seriously.....what was she thinking? The dog doesn't know any better, in my opinion, but MIL does. :?

Kimi--I've found a LIFESAVER as far as colds go...Pediasure makes a waterless vaporizer plug in. It basically spreads a menthol smell throughout the nursery for the night. In addition to the humidifier, vicks rub, and saline...my kids are doing so much better! Good luck at next week's appt. I remember those early days...every ounce was so good to see! It seemed like it took a while to gain weight at first, and then it just poured on around 2 months!

Laura--sorry to hear about the black eye. I know we should be careful with our dogs, but my labradoodle LOVES the babies (and the feeling is mutual). I can't imagine him doing anything to them, but like you've learned, anything can happen so quickly. Glad the babyproofer did a good job. My DH unpacked the babygates a week ago, but they're still not up yet...hmmmm.....

Hi Ladies! Long time no talk..I try to stay offline cuz of my cankles ;)
:o
glad to hear everyone seems to be doing okay...and Em, WOW CONGRATULATIONS! What a gift from the Universe for you and your husband...floors me!

I'm staying home all the time now to stay healthy...can NOT believe I'm at 33 weeks...oh my god...I am kinda ready but NOT really...ugh.
So much to still do...

Odd Q: What type of diaper backpack do you all use?
I went on Lands End, but the diaper backpack only comes in Pink (I'm calling today).

ALSO, where did you buy your baby bedding?
I still need the baby room rug, curtains (MIL is meddling...what a pain), bedding, and the odds and ends I can order online...but I am 1/2 way there with the nanny situation...

also, what type of humidifier do any of you use?
oh dear...must get off the computer as I have cankles.

BEST TO YOU ALL AND THANK YOU

Woodcliff--yeah, you're still around! 33 weeks, you're doing great!

As for diaper bag, I have 2. I have a sling backpack from Babies R us, that I LOVE for shorter day trips--to the mall, grocery, family events, etc. However, when they go to the sitter, I have a pretty big bag that I got at our local twins sale. I have no clue what the brand is...I'd go check, but it's in the nursery, and I'm NOT about to tempt fate and walk in there! The sling is very handy, and since it goes over my body, I can have 2 free hands for kids. However, I can barely fit two bottles, enough diapers, wipes, and my wallet and cell...

I got most of my bedding through JC Penney, but it was a nightmare for a while there, so I don't recommend them (although I do LOVE my bedding.)

Good luck, and I hope MIL will stay off your back! Doesn't help the ankles!

Woodcliff - you are getting very close. It seems like yesterday I was pregnant. Please take care and rest as much as possible. Sounds like you are doing well. We bought a humedifier from Bed Bath & Beyond. I am not sure which brand but it was about $40, nothing fancy. Not sure if you would need it soon because my son didn't get runny nose and such until 7 mos or so. About diaper bag, I have one made by Eddie Bauer and it's been working ok for us. It's a little big and bulky, but I can stuff a lot in there. Good luck finding the gears!

Kim - I will check out the waterless vaporizer thing. Anythig to keep my son sleep through the night when he has a cold!

I am pretty sleepy tonight... It's 4am and I have a couple of hours to go before my Mom takes over. Cannot wait to hit the pillow.

Hi Girls,

Thanks for your well wishes. I should be due on the 3rd November. I scaned this morning and you could only just make out the sac....only one this time!

We told my parents today and I thought my Dad was going to faint! It was really great. Though they have requested one without a spout (ie a girl) as they have 4 grandsons and no girls.

Life is hectic. I am back at work thurs, fri, sat and so I get very little time to myself these days. The boys are in a great routine now though and we have very little trouble through the night. They are great company for each other and we have endless videos of them laughing at each other when they think no one esle is watching.

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying their bubs as much as we are. I do try to come on a catch up with your news, but often I only get time to read and not reply.

Thank you Tolbee and Kim for your suggestions!!

Tolbee, wishing you sleep ;)

OK, anyone else find the Graco pack n play designs close to hideous? What GIVES with the browny brown, not even a rich chocolate, design? While I like the chocolate with some combos, it's like Graco just didn't get it 'right' ... and the nicer prettier one, the Milan, is around $50 more than the others...argh...I'll bite the bullet, I just need to get ALL ordered in case my OB sticks me in the hospital

I am getting very nervous about all of this...resting a lot and my BP is still 'borderline' which is good (not 'high' so he'll prison me in the hospital)...but worried about my OB appt Tues with the stress test, U/S, etc.
I do need at least 2 more weeks at home...
Feeling really healthy, though...have been fortunate ... but it does hurt to roll over at night & get out of bed every 45 or soemtimes 20 minutes !!!! arghhh

OK...my ankles are swelling...so much for my vow everyday to stay off the 'big' computer and use the laptop while I rest.
stupid me.
XXXOO to all you wonderful twin moms...you inspire me, give me hope, and tell it like it is!
Thank you

woodcliff--don't worry too much about the designs...I know it's frustrating now, but in a few weeks, you won't even be able to tell what colors your cute baby things are!  Sorry to hear about the constant night wakings. That happened to me too. Brings back memories, for sure! Rest assured, that you are getting EXCELLENT training for sleep deprivation! :)

TAke care and keep cookin'!

Hello mothers of twins! Well as some of you know I am expecting my twins in Oct. So I am almost 10 weeks. I am a little scared though because I have NO symptoms other than being more tired than usual and my nipples hurting. Yes my breasts have become a little swollen but that is it! Sure, peeing 4 times in the night is not fun but that is it! No nausea, heartburn, etc. Is this a bad thing? I keep thinking there is something wrong because I do not have the "bad" symptoms. I do not go back to the OB till April 3 and I wish I could just get in earlier and see them!

Sugar, congratulations!
Don't fret the 'no symptoms' ... count your good fortune...I was only exhausted as well (now I'm up every 30-45 min peeing!)...

Frankly, I think too much is written about how HARD a twin pregnancy is...I wish, all along, I'd focused on the good points...I basically had nausea, little MSickness, and other than being tired (and now uncomfortable at night, par for the course) I've had a nice pregnancy...

So don't go looking for negatives. Unfortunately, people are more than willing to tell you their horror stories (My OB told me to 'quit reading' at one point)...Pick up Dr. Luke's books on multiples, but again, she's a drill sargeant and after reading important portions of the book I tossed it aside, she likes to instill fear too much for my tastes as well.

Just rest, eat 'what you can' if MS hits you...and enjoy your pregnancy.
And, oh, in the beginning I saw my OB once a month, but I had lots of USounds..then at 24 weeks or so, it was every 2 weeks to the OB, then at 28, every week...
Good luck...

BUCKEYE you are too funny, and correct, I'm tired of overthinking baby stuff ;)

sugabeanz....don't worry about it, is what I say. Just count yourself lucky that you're not having ms. Just enjoy the ride!

Kimberly--how'd your big weekend go?

We're still digging out of a foot of snow here...I'm going to try and post a couple pics of the kids later tonight, if I get time.

Woodcliff, I remember those days with very puffy feet. I know it's uncomfortable, but hang in there. I did not realize it but my face was also very swollen during my pregnancy. I lost a lot of water weight after delivery and I look so much different now. Please rest lots and take care of yourself.

Congratulations to Sugarbeanz. I did not have much symptoms, either (no M/S at all) and was longing for something for a while. Then you will just pop one day and there is no stopping after that. Enjoy your special pregnancy! Everything goes by so fast!

We had a very good weekend here. I've decided to ditch pumping finally and relying solely on babies emptying my breasts. I supplement formula still, so the whole feedig takes a long time but it still beats pumping. We will see how it goes... if my milk supply deminishes, oh well at least I tried.

I hope everyone's weekend was good. It is just too short, isn't it!?

Hey Ladies,

I am also carrying twins and i am on in my 7th week. My naval has become very tender. Has anyone else felt this early on. It is tender to touch and it hurts when I bend down. I am a little worried.
