Hey Ladies! Just a quick update since I've had the cra-est day since 7 this morning! Coached a swim meet, went to scan, and then did tons of errands for our annual fourth of July party, and then we got our new car!!! WHEW!!

But all went well today and Flick was great! Measuring right on target and looked like an alien in our 3D puictures!! Unfortunately I thought the tech was a ***** and kept calling Flick a pest because he/she was moving around all over the place and it was making getting the pictures difficult! I will catch up with personals tomorrow!

Ok mommies... I created a site for us to use as our own personal registry. Basically just gift ideas for those who want to participate. I have directions on the home page, a calender of due dates and my list already set up so you can see how I think it would work best. Since I have a registry, I simply used that to make mine. Though you don't have to do yours that way. :) The link is below... let me know what you think.

http://registryforwintercyclethread.webs.com/

Save it as a favorite or Katie.. maybe add it to the list somewhere?

Claudia - Glad Flick is doing well! Poo on the tech for calling him a pest! Hope you got some good pics though! :)

wow. I am SO out of the loop, i don't think I can ever catch up again. :(

sorry to abandon .... this whole pregnancy, working full time, and trying to keep up with DS, while still traveling a minimum of every 3 weeks, but more often every other weekend.... is wearing my butt out. thankfully, the m/s has subsided a lot, but it's not non-existent. :( It rears it's ugly head a few times a week, tolerable, but not gone. thankfully, no more full-on sickies, just queasies.

What is going on with the number of girls in this group!!?!!! WOW!! Well, add one more to the list. ;) We found out the week before father's day that our little one is most probably also female. Which came as a joyful surprise to our older boys. Our 16 yo said, "if this one wasn't a girl, you'd HAVE to have another one" - :D so sweet. we shared the news with the boys (well, 2 of my DSS and our DS) via cupcake message. They all simultaeously bit into cupcakes decorated on top with both pink and blue - but the center held the secret - pink! they screamed and yelled thru cupcake filled mouths. we video'd/fb'd and skyped the message to our families. The majority of them were hoping for pink as well, so everyone is thrilled.... now, hopefully the tech wasn't wrong.... !!!

speaking of techs - i briefly read over the last few posts - claudia - i feel ur pain on the pain the arse tech! this last one was the 2nd awful one we've had this pregnancy. the only ones not awful were still with our clinic. what up with bitchy ultrasound techs?!! this one complained about my bladder not being full - which I thought it was, considering i'd had lots of water and FELT like i had to go - what was i supposed to do?? torture myself with more? seriously? AND, i neglected to bring my order (which i didn't think i needed, since it came from my doc's office - and the u/s was ALSO at the same location..??) so she says, why don't you have him (DH) go get it and we'll go ahead with the u/s....????? WHAT??? excuse me? he's the FATHER!!!! He's not here to look pretty or fetch you documents that i can get for you afterwards - he's GOING to see the ultrasound! REALLY!?!!!!  needless to say, he didn't retrieve the document for her... and interestingly enough, i called back later to speak with the office staff to see if i needed to bring it by - um, nope. they're good. what is wrong with these people!?! Note to techs - not in your best interest to piss off highly hormonal pregnant women - we'll tell our children not to cooperate with you - and they'll listen! ;) - she also got frustrated with mine, as she couldn't get a spine or heart shot that she liked - she kept saying "move, baby!!" - i was like, you keep talking to her that way, and she definitely WON'T!

love to you all - i think of you often... praying all goes well with the remainder of the pregnancies and healthy, safe deliveries!!!! hope to check in soon!

Steph - aww honey, I'm so pleased that you had some true friends over and spent some time with some people who care about you, unlike your selfish new neighbours! I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandad and that your family kept the news from you until right at the end. That was just not fair of them, regardless of what they might feel about you personally. I suppose at least one of them did break ranks and get in touch, else you might not have found out at all. Your 8.44am story made me cry - like others have said, I do think it meant something. Re the shower/cash pool idea, I've been racking my brains and I can't think of a way for it to easily work for gi and I for people to physically buy presents - it's not practicable for people in the US to buy stuff and post it across the pond (or vice versa), I don't think, as you may end up spending as much on postage as the present itself. As you know, we don't do showers in this country but I did wonder about maybe setting up a gift list with a department store where people can buy vouchers online if they want to- I will do some research and send you a PM if I can work out how to set something up.

Emerald - yay for the amnio going smoothly and yay for finding out you're having a little girl. Has it sunk in yet? Hope the next 2 weeks go really quickly for you until you get your results. So, a fellow Lab owner, huh? We have a 4.5 year old yellow Labrador ***** and a 5 year old Irish Setter/Labrador cross boy, and they are my furry four legged babies, I love them to bits. To answer your question, I'm not sure whether your little pains are the baby or not, but I do know that round 15-19 weeks or so I had lots of random little twinges all over the place from things stretching. When I felt the baby move for the first time, it was a different feeling, like a tiny bit of pressure coming from inside my stomach.

Hope - wow, yet another girl!! The pressure is really on for claudia and I to even out the genders a bit! Glad all is going well, although sorry to hear that the m/s hasn't totally disappeared. It sounds like you're rushing around all over the place - make sure you and your little girl get some rest, OK Mum?

katie - are you kidding me, expecting a pregnant woman to move furniture instead of a stronger guy? Thank goodness you refused to! Yippee, enjoy your time next week doing baby preparation stuff with DH. Is he still debating names? Thanks for asking about Dad, he had his first chemo drip on Monday and started taking the other chemo drugs which are tablets 2x a day, plus he's had the vaccine trial thing Monday, Wednesday and again today. I spoke to them last night and thankfully he hasn't felt too sick yet, but he's really tired and struggling to find the energy to do things. It's early days though, I guess, so we'll see how he is after another few weeks of the drugs. And to answer your questions - no, we still haven't done lists of names and yes the nursery is coming along, or at least it will be when the furniture gets delivered in another couple of weeks! We're hoping to do the final bits of pieces of shopping this weekend (steriliser, breast bump, exciting stuff like that!), and then I think we'll pretty much have the essentials.

Sara - how funny that your OB wants to have her baby and then rush back to work to deliver yours!

Angela - glad to hear all's going well.

gi - loved your kicking story, that happened to me too for the very first time yesterday. Zorba was stretching a leg and pressing it into the side of my stomach and it was pretty uncomfortable - I put my palm against my stomach and tried to press the leg back in, and the baby kicked my hand away! I did it again and got the same result, it was so funny. That's the most interactive the baby has ever been, and I just loved it... I can't wait for you to start on your nursery, and the buggy sounds really cute - how are you going to resist going to buy it for another 3 weeks?

bei - OMG, 3 of them? Congratulations, congratulations and congratulations! No wonder you've been feeling sick!

babyluv - oooh, I love your list of girl's names, there's a couple on there which I've always thought are definitely going to be on my list for girls!

claudia - what a cute bump (as always!). I can tell you right now that you do not know the meaning of huge, if you honestly believe that you qualify - I obviously need to post another photo of the beach ball so that you can see what huge really means! I wish I could have stayed nice and neat like you, but my bump seems to have spread all over the place now!

AFM, my unhelpful midwife suddenly decided on my last appointment a few weeks ago that I ought to go and speak to the consultant at the hospital because at my 20 week scan the baby was on the large side, but more specifically the placenta was pretty low. I went to the hospital on Wednesday and they need to scan me to see what the current position is before they can discuss anything. So I have a scan booked for next Wednesday (when I'll be 31 weeks) - I'm very excited to see Zorba again (but also to see how big he/she currently is, eeek!). I guess if the baby is looking really big, or the placenta hasn't moved up yet, they may be pushing me towards a C-section. We shall see...

hi everyone -

Yay we now have an online baby shower going! I'll bet that we are the first thread to try that one! Thank you so much Steph for setting that up for us!
I put the link to it at the top of our list - so we'll always know where it is.
So its another girl for the Pink Thread it looks like, its kind of funny how many girls we have now, isnt it? for the few of you who have boys just think of how many girlfriends they'll have to choose from in their teens hee hee
Ok so I'm unhappy to see that i'm getting all kinds of spider veins on my calfs & a few on my thighs - ugh, of course it doesnt help that I've given up tanning so I'm felling pretty pale - but now it looks like someone drew on my legs with a marker - sigh-
I'm going to take and post a belly pic this weekend, now that I finally look pregnant instead of fat & sloppy - finally, but I have big exciting day planned of carpet cleaning whoo hoo, yes, I know I need to stop having so much fun, dont I? and who has big plans for the 4th weekend? Chris will be off for the next 9 days so its now or never to get these rooms switched, emptied and painted. I dread it but will be thrilled to have a painted empty nursery room. But i want to drag him through Babies r Us tomorrow since neither one of us has ever been in there! I have to see furniture up close but I really want to take a peek at everything there, so I know that we'll leave with our heads spinning and maybe some onesies or socks - I just adore those tiny socks! Ryan will end up with too many I'm sure - lol hey, heres a question how many onesies do we need anyway? 12? 24? more than that? I have no idea how many is enough without ending up with too much? yep, tomorrow should be be a looong day, with the two of us clueless and wanting to look at everything

Sara - Aw, I think thats so sweet that you & your OB are pregnant at the same time - but just in case you sure do need to meet the other OB there. My clinic has 3 OBs and you have to see all of them on a rotation so you dont end up with a stranger on your big day based on who is on call that day, unfortunately just one is a female which is my preference, so I'm hoping to get her!

Steph - Good luck at your appt today! I hope its all stress free. Me too, as far as eating much better now, I think during al that back to back cycling I ate whatever, whenever I wanted. I'm pretty sure that all those FSH meds is what put my extra weight on and think thats why i've leveled out now - each time they had me on a max dose of 600- 750iu - eek! Thanks for setting up our online shower! you must be really good with the computer  I'm not so great with anything other than the basics, so here go the questions - do we have to register & make links also? Or do we just make a list of things? Do we add it ourselves? or PM you? I hate to think that you'll be buried in stuff to do now - twin mama, but for us semi computer illiterate females - I'd love to but not sure how to get started - yes, go ahead and laugh all you want to
Dont stress leaving the walls white, if you decide to i've seen these beautiful large wall decals on etsy.com that dont damage the paint when you remove them
Thats my plan for here, we're just painting a nice neutral sand color and then getting the wall decor. I hope they look as good as they do on the site, cause I dont want to do whimsical wall colors since we'd love to sell in a year or two for something a little bigger than this very small house.

Gi - Aw honey go and buy your favorite buggy and enjoy it Mam to be!

Angela - Agh! me too all tylenol does is take the edge off! enjoy your long weekend and relax!

Karen - I know bed rest is difficult - but you're at 23 wks already! hooray for that! try to hang in there! have you done anything nursery wise yet?

Claudia - Whoo for a new car! And you got 3d pics? ooohh you lucky girl! Now what was wrong with that sono tech? "pest"????? WTH???

Hope - Glad to see you again, sorry that you still have nausea, but what a schedule you have you poor tired mama! Hooray for Team Pink! What BS for the sono tech to see if your DH will run & fetch that paperwork! Glad to hear he didnt! I had a bad tech for my NT scan, but thankfully the one for the level 2 was nice - aw honey your cupcake idea was so sweet! but I 'll bet you were cleaning up crumbs all night

Hazel - I'm glad that you dad isnt feeling too sick after treatment, thats half the stress gone, but tired is to be expected considering the battle going on inside him at the cellular level. I'll keep him in my prayers. I cant wait to get the room started, I feel like I'm late to party or something! We'll see if ours heads blow off like a cartoon tomorrow after the first time in a huge baby superstore! Aw Zorba is playing kicking games too? I hope Ryan gets active again soon so I can try it also! I'm happy that you'll be getting another u/s next week, but I'm hoping thats a bit of extra amniotic fliud and not that Zorba is just that big! I'll keep it crossed for you _ I feel the same way, a c section is on my list of scary things. I saw one up close in nursing school and that was the only surgery that bothered me. maybe because I was really up close like 5 ft away! Yes, beach ball pics please, I have to post some of my belly too!

hugs & prayers for us all - xoxo

Hazel - I wouldn't worry about how much shipping costs to send you a gift. Considering it is just you and Gi over there, I don't see a problem dishing out a little extra for you two fine ladies. It really isn't that much. I am an Army wife and send gift baskets to Iraq and that isn't too much of a hassle. I am sure sending a gift to you and Gi would be a piece of cake in comparison. :) However... for you to us... not sure how that works as far as postage goes. I received my stims from the UK and didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for shipping so maybe it can all work out? Either way, we will find a way! lol As far as your upcoming appt. I hope that you don't have a placenta previa. I am hoping mine has moved at least a little. Though they haven't measured the distance over the cervix (not that I have noticed) so not sure how they can tell if it has improved or not. Maybe they will just guess. lol Also I hope Zorba isn't too horribly big. If so, that could make natural birth difficult and we all know we want smooth sailing for that experience. Keep us updated!

Hope - Good to hear from you and a girl!! WOO HOO!! Go team pink! I love the way you told your sons! I would love to see that video. lol I can't believe that darn m/s is holding on at 21 weeks! At least it gives you a break but I think it should let you go completely already! :)

Katie - More chores?? Boy I outta... lol I was steaming my floors the other day and I was exhausted, I don't know how you do it!? As far as the onsies... personally, you can't get enough of them. lol Those and sleepers. Babies spit up so much and those are what they wear the most so I like to keep a good stash. I have about 500 items of clothing for my two and I am not even sure that is enough. lol Don't worry though, between what you do get and what you are gifted you will be covered I am sure, and if not, going out and buying an extra pack or two isn't expensive at all. It's tough to say a number of how much you will need because they grow so fast! To try and steer you in the right direction... I would say, estimate 2 onsies a day and when you do laundry and have a few extra for each stage based on that. So, if you do laundry once a week, I say 14-20 should be plenty for each stage of growth. :) Hope this helps. It has been a long time since I had a baby, maybe the newer mom's can answer tha better? lol

As far as our registry, just send me the item and the link... I will do it all! It's ok for me to take on the task. It doesn't require me to over exert myself in any way and I usually have nothing to do anyway. lol So this gives me something to do and for you fine mommies too! So I am glad to take it on. It really isn't that hard for me. I am really not that computer savy. I just spent a while trying to find a free site, when I did, it had simple directions. You will see that the site is a simple one and nothing fancy about it. All you have to do is find the item you want to add to the list and send me the link in the address bar. It can be a picture or a link to the page of the store it's on. If you have a registry and don't mind people seeing your registry (it holds your real name) then of of course you can send that link to me. This is what I did. Though my name has never been hidden from anyone since I used it as my screen name. LOL I know some people will be more private then others and some won't participate for privacy reasons. However, I am willing to take whatever people give me to make this easy on everone else. I just want to be able to help all of you the best I can. :)

AFM - Getting ready for my appt today. I took a belly pic already and waiting to get my measurments before I post it so I will be back on to do that in a few hours. :) Man I am huge! lol I will post it and the old one just to compare. I am wearing the same shirt so it is a true comparison. Also, after we bought one crib, guess what? They went and discontinued the matching dressers!! So I had to try and find someone, anyone in stock and only one place still has them. Once they are gone, they are gone so I told my dad's wife. She is buying them today! WHEW!! I think they are still making the crib, but didn't ask about that. So far, the crib is still in stock and no worries. She said she is getting the other crib too. So the nursery will finally be complete once we gett the bedding and such. Finally! I hope it all gets here in time to show off for the shower. :) I will be sure to take a picture so you all can see as well. I am just hoping everything fits well without looking too crowded. lol Ok... going to finish getting ready to see my babies! Update you later! :)

Back from my appt. Took forever!!! We waited for an hour just to be seen. They keep over booking my OB and not just that but he had a c-section that he was late for. At least he was able to see me. He didn't rush the appt either which was nice. He let me ask my questions and such. The babies both look great. They are looking so big on the u/s now. Ethan turned around so he is head down. That's funny since the last few days I have been telling Andrew that I think he turned because I have been feeling kicks a lot up top on my right side. Angelina is still breech. He showed me her placenta and sure enough that is part of the reason why I don't feel her as much. It's over my top left side covering a good part of that side of my belly. As for his placenta... it got a little worse. It's a lot bigger now of course and seems to be covering more of the cervix. The OB didn't have to say a thing, I saw it, it was pretty obvious. Though we will still wait to see what the other doc says. Oh, I found out, he is a perinatologist by the way. lol So I go back to the OB in 3 weeks on the 22nd to do my glucose. BLAH! Though I was told it was the orange drink which is so much better then the other kinds... in my opinion of course. :) After that we will check on babies again and probably get seen every 2 weeks or so from there. Also... get this... I measured 29cm today. Only gained three cm? I don't think so. lol I got a lot bigger than last time, way more then a measly 3 cm! So I think the assistant dude he had measure me last time did it wrong or my OB did it wrong. lol So anyway... here are the pics from last time and the new one. Tell me if it looks like 3cm or more to you. lol

Stephanie – I forgot you probably will be getting some heavy rain from that hurricane this weekend. Hopefully, you and the family can still enjoy yourselves indoors. BTW – thank you for setting up the website!

I hope your appointment goes well today, which I am sure it will. That is so exciting that you will have the nursery all complete in a few days/weeks. Please take a picture once everything is in place.

Karen – I am glad that you are getting your rest. I have been really sleepy for the last week also. My progesterone level must be rising … needless to say I am trying to take advantage of all of the sleep I can get.

Claudia – I am so happy that your appointment went well. 3D pictures sounds absolutely wonderful!

Hope – I am happy to read that the m/s is slowing down for you! I think we have all had our awful experiences w/ bitchy u/s techs and it is ridiculous to say the least.

I loved the story of how you told your children what sibling they were having … that was absolutely precious! Congrats on the Girl!!!

Hazel – I am sorry that your midwife is still not very helpful and it sounds like she is still keeping the useless trend. I know your u/s will go well and I know how excited you are to see her once again.

Katie – You make me tired reading all of your busy work, so I can only imagine how exhausting it is making you … lol. I guess you are right, if your DH has the time off it is better to get everything done, but please promise us that you will not overdo it and make yourself too tired.

Sara, Natasha, Emerald, Babyluv, Gi, & Bei – Hello to you lovely ladies and I wish you have a wonderful and enjoyable weekend!

AFM – I am doing well today and very happy it is Friday! I am going to enjoy this nice weather today because they say the hot sweltering weather w/ high humidity is returning tomorrow and will remain throughout next week.

Dearest ladies...I have terrible news. Yesterday I lost my twins due to preterm labor at 23 1/2 weeks. It came on very fast...within 6 hours from feeling something was off at 6:30pm to delivery by 12:30AM. It couldn't be stopped or slowed down even with the meds they gave me. The clerclage held but in doing so it the contractions tore a hole and the babies delivered via the whole b/c we didn't have time to get it off. That's how fast it happened. They were too underdeveloped to survive (lungs too immature, eyes still fused shut, etc) but were developing perfectly for their age. I just wanted to encourage you mommies to take really good care of yourself. Preterm labor is unpredictable and in my case gave no warning until I started to feel very slight contractions/cramping feeling every 20 minutes at 6:30pm yesterday. I didn't even have a back ache. Both were little girls. Lillian Piper Smith and Reagan Harper Smith are resting peacefully in Gods' arms now. I wish you all a safe, healthy and peaceful pregnancy to term. I'm more devasted than I can even comprehend right now, so I'll be off the boards for a while...until our next go around. On a postive note, we have on frostie left that we had PGD done on, so when my body is ready, we will a frozen transfer...and well as try naturally in between. It will happen for us. I believe it in my heart. God bless you all. xoxoxoxo Karen

OMG Karen! I am so very very sorry. I am so heartbroken for you. I am sitting here crying for you, your DH, and your baby girls. You sound so very strong right now...and have a terrific attitude. I cant even imagine. I'm sure you're still in shock. If there is anything I can do, want to talk, anything...feel free to pm me. I have great shoulders. I will be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. :(

Karen...

I am speachless to say the least. There are no words, there is just nothing but silence. Heartbreak and tears is all that is here. My heart goes out to you and DH as well as to Lillian and Reagan. Two more angels...

Karen,
I have no words to express my deepest sorrow for you and DH. The doctors don't know what caused this??? I truly hope the best for you and you and your girls are in my thoughts and wishes.

Karen – Oh no, I am just devastated for you. I don’t know what to say but I am just so very sorry for you. I feel like we have all known each other for such a long time and share a common bond, I am truly grieving for you and your DH right now. If there is anything I can ever do for you, please don’t hesitate to ask, even if it is just to talk.

My prayers are with and will always be with you. Please take this time to heal and grieve. I found it helped to have my DH close by me because I felt like he truly understood. My family and friends were there for us also but I didn’t want to be around anyone but my DH. You will have to grieve in your own way but remember we are praying for you always!
