Good Morning,

Another beautiful sunny day here in Essex!

Kareen how's you this morning? I'm really into curries at the moment, in fact I've even gone hotter! The only problem is I seem to want prawns and I think they are on the no list though I think it's just uncooked that we should avoid. I do really like prawn cocktail in a jacket potato at the moment, I'll just have to get past that one. Personally other than medical intervention I don't think anything brings on labour in those final weeks. If you have a curry and you go into labour it's just coincidence. I mean I'm eating curries and pineapple all the time!

I'm surprised they aren't seeing you more regular now. Isn't it funny how the different health authorities have different rules. You are obviously of no concern to them so that's a good sign. In the nicest possible way!

Tammy could you take a little desk top fan into work with you and pop it on your desk? We can't have you fainting. I'd carry a paper bag too for when you do feel a little breathless it can help (although you do look very silly, I'd do this in a cupboard or a toilet!). But yes it is normal especially as the top of your uterus is now around your belly button now so everything that was there before has now been pushed right up pressing into your lungs. I've no idea where this lot is going to go soon, I think I'm going to grow a hump!

Justine I'm so glad you enjoyed your weekend. I follow the girls with a hoover sometimes and did have a foods to avoid list! lol I have been in denial about the diabetes for a long time, it's only when I'm pregnant that I'm really good but this time I plan to be good afterwards. Yes the chances of you developing type II later on is higher if it is in your family. I'm the only one who is diabetic in our family but I guess it has to start somewhere. You are pretty healthy and if you keep your bmi within a good range (which I think you do) then you may be ok.

I'm sure when I went to the Rosie they provided the lucozade for you! I'm lucky now I really don't like sugary drinks anymore. I think I've told myself I don't.

Vita I'm not surprised you are feeling down and anxious. What else do you have to do while lying there but freat about stuff. We all suffer with worries and anxiousness when pregnant but you have three to think about so it will be three times worse. You are doing everything you possibly can to give your babies the best possible chance and I have a really good feeling that it is all going to be just perfect for you. The weather also affects your mood, if it's gloomy outside then it will be inside too! You need to put on some feel good songs to listen to, get those babies listening and dancing away! Do you know you can only sing if you are feeling happy - unless you're listening to Ananis Morrisette!

I think this will be another girl but only because we already have four girls. I wouldn't know what to do with a boy. All I know is you have to point his willy down when you put the diaper on otherwise it leaks everywhere oh and when you take it off make sure you are wearing a wet suit or swimming costume as 9 times out of 10 they wee!

I really suffered with carpal tunnel with one of the girls. The doctor used to inject something into my wrist which used to help. Have you mentioned it to them?

I saw a programme on the telly the other day about a couple of ladies having triplets. One got to 34 weeks and the other 32 weeks. All of them were doing great. You have your faith in god and you have to have your faith in the doctors too. You are doing everything they are telling you to, hang in there you are all going to be fine. If you go into pre-term labour they will be ready for you.

I had another trip to the hospital yesterday. My sugars are still on the high side and I've had ketones for about 5 days now. They say although I'm dehydrated they don't think I've got ketoacidosis and I now know what to look out for. He felt about my tummy and said the top of my uterus was about 2-3 cm above my belly button. It shouldn't be that high yet so it could be another big one on the way! We will find out at the scan next week.

I've got the start of a cold. I feel really yuky. My throat doesn't feel sore just really swollen and itchy, my glands are all up, I have a headache and my neck aches. You can start the sympthay anytime you want as I don't get any here! lol

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Speak soon

Hello ladies,

Jo - I wish I could say it's another lovely day in bonnie Scotland... no chance - it's dark as I sit here and type :( Hope the cold has gone away...

Anyway - it's LOVE-RLY not being at work!!!! Think I'm going to struggle going back next week - especially knowing it's only for 3 weeks... am going to try and do some work today  It was our 7th wedding anniversary yesterday, so we had a nice lunch. We're hardly ever without Sam and I felt bare!!! I can't believe it's been 7 years and 18 together - so much we've gone through and never dreamed of what we'd have to... but there you go, we've survived!

Justine - Paris sounds just what you need - and fun (even with your MIL - is she really that bad?) As for boys and their little party tricks without nappies - yep - Sam was a stormer at that! I remember taking him to baby massage - NEVER give boys liquid beforehand - liquid and relaxation...

Vita - your fears are perfectly normal. I gave myself small targets - even this time and am still setting them. First it was 24 weeks, then 26 weeks, then 28 weeks. I'm still anxious, but am 30 weeks on Wednesday, so am feeling good about that. Sam was born at 33 weeks and only spent two and a half weeks in care until he fed - otherwise he was great, so try not to worry - I know it's different with more than one, but things will be fine - just keep your faith. Hope you are feeling a bit better today...

Kareen - hope the tingling has gone away a bit. You watch yourself if your fingers are swollen and make sure you let the midwife know if it gets worse. Maybe ironing is making it worse...............

Tammy...Abbie... and everyone else - hope you are all well today.

Hello All,

Congratulations Zoe on your wedding anniversary. Wow 18 years that's well... loads! lol It's always nice to have a little time together when possible. Three weeks left at work will just fly by. I'm sure you're going to get a little anxious as you get close to 33 weeks. Why was Sam born that early? Did you go into labour or was there complications? I had Emma and Jodie at 35 weeks but this one I really want to try and make it to term.

Justine have a fantastic time in Paris. If you are going to go to Disney try and go during the week if it's possible. My girls loved it there, I can just picture you all in the little boat going round "It's a small small world" - now I can't stop singing it! The first time we took Emma she was only 5 months and she loved every minute of it. We were there last December too - that was cold!

How did the glucose test go?

Kareen you do make me laugh! My dad had the operation on his carpal tunnel about 4 years ago. Mine disappeared straight after birth so I was lucky. I agree with Zoe I don't think ironing will help so you can't do anymore now until after it's gone!

I had to remove my wedding ring weeks ago. I have a larger one on now but that will be going round my necklace sooner or later!

I am still feeling really yucky. My body wants to lay down but then I can't breathe! We are still trying to get my sugar levels under control. They went up to 24 after breakfast this morning (normal is no more than 8 after food). I had a long chat with the diabetic team yesterday, their record is 400 units a day and I'm now taking 260 units so I may break it (I've gone up 70 units in just a week)! I am supposed to inject 5 times a day but because I'm on such high doses I have to split them so I'm now injecting 10 times a day! They said now I have this cold that will put the sugars up even more, when it rains it pours!

Little bam bam is doing ok. It's still moving round loads. I've got the gastroentrologist tomorrow and diabetic clinic on Thursday so that will give me something to look forward to - oh and Hannah's parents evening tomorrow night will be a laugh! lol

Abbie, Vita, Hayley, Tammy, Riley I hope you are all doing well.

Take care everyone

Hello Lovely Ladies

How are you all today?

Happy Birthday Sophie - 1 today!!

Justine I feel for you, that cramp is a killer, I had one episode a couple of weeks ago but that's it, although I was going to come on last night I just pulled my foot up and it went away. Leaves you limping for days!

I hope your trip to Paris is as stressfree as possible. Your MIL doesn't sound the friendliest of people to be around but you are there for the others too and you have Sophie to hide behind! How does she feel about this one being a boy? Are you still as good at having children? lol At least when you go to Disney there will be enough people to lose her in the crowds!

My cold feels better today, though it tends to get worse in the evening. I'm feeling really uncomfortable today though, lots of pressure down below, it sounds silly but it feels like the baby is going to fall out! Has anyone else experienced this?

Had to rush to A&E again last night but this time it wasn't me. Alice has another kidney infection. She only stopped with the last lot of antibiotics last week. Poor little thing it's so painful.

Going off to the gastroentrologist in a bit. I'm hoping because I'm pregnant he won't be pumping lots of air into me - sorry if tmi! lol

Take care and I hope you are all good.

Hello ladies:

Zoe: Congrats on your 7th wedding anniversary. DH and I will celebrate our 2nd anniverary on Nov. 1st.

Jo & Justine: Thanks for the advice regarding my nearly fainting. Unfortunately, I do not have a desk on which to place a fan. I teach at the collegiate level and have a different classroom for each class. I will try to ensure that I drink enough water and open the window if I become too warm.

Kareen: I can sympathize with your swelling fingers. I had a difficult time putting on my wedding rings the other morning. I had to jam them on!
We had rain here for a couple of days, but now it is sunny!! I'm having a difficult time sleeping as well. I get up every 1.5 - 2 hours to pee and then am constantly tossing and turning. I really need my own bed without DH and my chocolate labrador, Max.

Justine: Have a wonderful time in Paris with Sophie. I've never been to Paris or EuroDisney, but I have been to Disney World in Florida and DisneyLand in California.

Jo: You poor thing...........10 injections a day? Do you inject yourself, or does DH do it for you? I got tired of the 3 injections per day that I was doing when I went thru IVF. I hope Alice is doing better.

Take care all,
Tammy

Evening

Hi Tammy, how about one of those hand held fans. May sound a little silly but they do let off a lot of wind (if you know what I mean). They are cheap and tacky but do the job.

We got a chocolate lab last year and named him Max. Unfortunately I was really poorly in January and spent about six weeks in hospital, my friend looked after Max for me and because we had only had him a few weeks before I got sick he had spent more time with them than us so they kept him. I still see him and he's great, a real nutter!

I've spent quite a few nights on the sofa. When Paul has drunk more than 3 cans he snores so loudly and I just end up getting the hump with him so I come down stairs. Then Leo (our black lab) gets the hump with me as he is sneakily on the sofa (he knows he's not allowed)! I'm still weeing every 40 minutes during the day and night - and it's not even a trickle!

Sort of got on ok today at the hospital. He said my blood results show there's still a lot of inflamation in the bowels and my Crohn's is still active so he's put me on some more medication. So now it's 10 injections, 6 steriods and now 8 pentasa every day! He said pentasa is completely safe in pregnancy. Every week I'm taking one less steriod until I'm on nothing but he said if it flares up again then I go back on them, ween off but end up staying on one for the whole pregnancy. I don't want to do that so hoping it stays away.

Paul is needlephobic - not good when living with a diabetic so I inject myself. If he ever has to have a blood test he would prefer to hit his fist against a wall to get the blood! I'm dreading the day I go unconcious with a hypo as he will have to inject me then - not that they will ever happen with these sugar readings!

Justine I'm glad Sophie is enjoying her time as an only child, lapping up every last minute of it. If MIL doesn't approve of taking her to me that's even more reason to go! She will be overwhelmed by it all. Her face will be a picture you will remember for years.

I'm so impressed you can walk without shoes! lol

Kareen I like your exercise bike, it's always good if you can get more than one use out of things, money well spent I'd say. The things soon pile up. As soon as I've bought something Paul has put it straight in the loft. When he puts the Christmas tree back (no I haven't put it up - yet!), he can get everything down then I can see. I've kept a few little bits down they are in a drawer in our bedroom. I'm not buying anything else now until the scan so that will be I'm not buying anything else now until next week! lol

What colour are you going to do the nursery? I still can't decide on the cot. I was going to go for white but now I've changed my mind to beech! I'm allowed to be indecisive - I'm pregnant!

I hope that toffee apple didn't get too messy - I'm so jealous, life sucks sometimes when you can't have things you want. I told the diabetic nurse I really fancied some marmalade the other day but Paul wouldn't let me buy it. He picked it up and read it, it has 60% sugar in it. The light version had 48% so he didn't let me, said I have to stick to marmite but the diabetic nurse said if I wanted it it would do no harm so I'm going to get some tomorrow and hide it!

When you start swelling you should stop what you're doing and put your feet up. Unless you are walking down the street or in the middle of the shops or something as you would look silly and probably get sectioned!

The colder weather is coming out on my hands now. They seem to be a bit on the chapped side so I'm going to go and grease up now.

Good night all. Speak to you tomorrow

xxx

Good Day Ladies,

Nice to read all of the posts again.... Kareen~~ so glad your babes are doing well... All the little things we feel will soon be gone, we are more than half way through!!!! Any yuummyy cravings this week???

Jo, you darling ahh everytime i read your posts i feel your struggle and am amazed at the fact that you still have a really great sense of humor too!!!!... I cant wait to hear on yourscan next week.

Justine~ Happy BIrthday Sophie!!!!!!!!!!

Well i had yet another level II scan done today and everything seemed well, but they were unable to get a clear reading on baby A & B;s heart..WHich was kinda disappointing, but they were so active and couldnt get around them... Baby C seems to be doing well also...

I have a question for the ladies who have had the umbilicus cord checked, did you ladies know that there were 3 vessels int he cord??? Well baby a & b had 3 vessels, but baby c had only 2 and the artery in the umblilical cord was absent. SO SCARY!!! im not sure what thats going to entail but tomorrow i will find out when the doctor reads the report. I was just hoping i can have some kind of idea from any of you ladies... I am so worried, but the technician said his heart seemed to do well.... Im lost... but other then that all three babies were ranging in the 22 week mark which was great and baby A was 1lb0z baby B was 1lb1oz and baby C was 1lb1oz as well... Overall it was a long ultrasound again, just over 2 hours... but i just hope to GOD things will go well till they are ready to come!

I have finally started to feel movement this last few days, i realized how behind i was and was getting worried as to why it was taking so long for me to feel anything!!! but finally i started feeeling a tugging motion all over my belly. Ok does it feel really uncomfortable sometimes?

Ok ladies i gotta run...write back soon...

xoxo

morning all..........

jeez, im tired :!:

vita.....im glad your feeling the babies move.....as the weeks go on the movement gets stronger.... oh and yes....some movement is uncomfortable...but its a reasuring sign!!!!
im glad your wee ones are doing well... all 3 of them sound good to me... i had that type of scan last week....where they 'try' to measure the hearts or at my hospital they were struggling to measure the chambers but the babies were having none of it....lol.....
as for the cord....the 3 vessells? ive never knew that..... dont worry too much about it vita... cause if there was cause for concern they would of dealt with it yesterday...... plus all 3 babies are doing well and all are at a weight they should be.... best wishes for your appointment today....xxxx

jo....how are you?... your hubby reminds me of my brother...the sight of blood makes him feel faint....as does hospitals..and needles....infact i remember he walked out the house one day when his son walked in with blood pouring out his nose!!!!!and another time he visited me in hospital... i had my appendix removed after they ruptured....he walked in the ward and turned on his heals when he noticed the drips etc.... and there i was lying all upset because they had shaved my errrrr nether regions(i was only 15) and wanted to tell him....lol  .....
im not really sure about the colours for the babies room.... obviously if i knew what flavour the babies were it would be easy!!! but i think i will go for cream... ive bought stencils in the shape of animals... so im going to sponge paint them around the room..(terracotta).(cots are going to be pine)..we have another room.... but its big and the babies would look like dots in there...so i will make the little room do for them until they are at least 8 months....
as for the toffee apple..(s) ...they werent that nice... okay i ate them...but the arent worth writing about  .....(mmmmm)!
hows alice?... you should make her drink cranberrry juice, even if its only a small glass a day....

tammy....hayley...zoe...justine....etc...hope you ladies are doing good...

im off for some breakfast

Evening All,

Just a quickie. Went to the diabetic clinic today which was fine, they put my insulin up again which is nothing new as they seem to be doing that every day - I'm now on 280 units a day!

They've cancelled my scan next week  They said I need a specilist scan as I'm diabetic. Shame the midwife who booked this 10 weeks ago didn't think of that! The specialist who needs to do the scan has been double booked next week then he is on holiday. They can't offer me a scan for another four weeks at my hospital so I have to go to the University College Obstetric Hospital in London. Hopefully I will get an appointment for next week but if not it won't be as long as 4 weeks. I know it's better for me and they will look at the baby in more detail but I just had that date next week in my head. Especially with my sugars running so high lately I've been a bit anxious that the baby is ok.

On a plus note, as you know I've been feeling the baby moving about since 10 weeks but today I put my hand on my tummy and it kicked me! I know this isn't my first baby but everyone is so special and that moment will stay with me.

I hope the rest of you are ok. My back is hurting so I can't sit here any longer. Will check in tomorrow.

Thinking of you all

Take care

Jo
