First of all...

CONGRATULATIONS JABY!!!!! I kept checking every day in hopes that I would find a post from you! That's AMAZING news! How do you feel physically? Mentally? THANKS for sharing the news with us and give us hope! :)

As for the rest of you, good morning! :P I hope you're in great shape and high spirits as the week draaaaags its feet towards Friday!

As for me, AF showed up, FINALLY, and strong enough to satisfy the Procrea nurses. I'll begin taking BCP tomorrow. I got the call from the clinic, and I'll start taking Lupron on Jan. 3rd till Jan 18th (blood test). Sixteen days! Then I'll start Puregon till Jan 23rd (blood test); hopefully, that means an ER for the 25th, but that's iffy of course.

I'm feeling better now, thanks to bec's nice encouragements, and thanks to my grandma's chocolate pudding recipe. In fact, it's so effective that I thought I'd share the recipe with you. Chocolate *is* a natural antidepressant after all; it acts on serotonine!

1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 pinch salt
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cups sugar

Mix these ingredients well. Pour in a greased rectangular pan and spread, but not too evenly.

SAUCE:
1 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp cocoa powder
2 cups boiling water

Mix the ingredients of the sauce until everything is dissolved and pour sauce carefully on the dough. It's okay if th sauce comes to about an inch of the rim of your baking pan; the cake will absorb it and you don't want your pudding to be dry. Bake in a 350F oven for 35 minutes. Please, do it justice and serve it lukewarm or hot. A big glass of milk is a must.

Sokru: you really made me laugh with your Cheetos! Of course they exist elsewhere! We have them in Canada! I'm personally more a fan of Miss Vickie's and Doritos... apparently, the stuff they use to make the powder stick to the chips is absolutely apalling... and its amount, too! ;) But I still lick each and every Doritos I eat all the same, lol! Glad you're hanging there! How long do you plan to stay on bed rest? Two days or more?

TC: I'm REALLY sorry that you have to deal with your insurance people. It's always annoying, plus you have to wait on the phone forever, and more often than not you're not talking to the right person, or the person you're talking to just won't make an effort... argh! I really hope you find a solution, and it's really touching that people here are willing to help you (I doubt my meds would be allowed through the US-Canada border...)

bec Again, thanks for lifting my spirits. I am a very strong person, I know it, but I just hate when I lose it that way, and my voice broke on the phone with the nurse and I hated it, especially given her annoyed tone. I'll definitely talk to my doctor about the Procrea calendar, though; I don't think it's fair that, just because your AF shows up on Tuesday instead of Monday, you automatically get 6 more days of Lupron, no matter what your medical condition is. It's Lupron roulette! I know it's there so the first blood test appointments are on certain days only, but come on... they're open 7 days a week and do most ERs on Sat. and Sun., I don't see what's the big problem.

And about acupuncture, well... I got phone numbers and I'll call. I'll make sure our insurance covers it before I do. The thing is... I mentioned it to my DH and he said he does not believe in it at all. He says there's no scientific background to it. I know there is, and I fwd him the studies I found for IVF... I'm frankly a bit surprised he's like that even after the studies I sent. :? They convinced me... He won't tell me not to do it, of course... but I don't know, it's too bad he does not believe. Do you think of any rational way I could try to convince him of acu's validity?

Ok, enough babbling!

Take care ladies! And have a great day! Today's my last private practice day before the Holidays (I work till Friday, but in other settings). Oooooh it will be good to take a break!

*crawls under a rock and dies of shame*

WHOOPSIE! I posted my epic novel twice! I'm so sorry guys! It's the second one that's good; it has the cycle dates in it... sorry!!!

This one is much shorter. While looking for the location of an acupuncture specialist on the Associations of Acupuncturists of Quebec, I found this interesting link.

http://consensus.nih.gov/cons/107/107_intro.htm

It's about the NIH officially acknowledging the efficacy of acupuncture for certain specific things, such as nausea and vomiting during pregnancy for example. It's worth checking... and of course I sent the link to DH :P

Take care!

Bec, much like you would do if your baby had croupe, I would let me shower run on completly hot water and just sit in the bathroom. The steam should help, clear some of that up. Also, lots of Vit C. Layer up your clothes at night and the blankets, it'll feel like you are dying of heat but that's the idea, sweat the damn sickness outta ya. I had both at the same time when I was pregnant with Abby, and this worked, maybe not as fast as good old "drugs" but it did work.

Feel better soon sweetie.

Bec, my sweet darling, I'm sorry to learn that you're sick! But yes, your ramblings do make sense and my PMA is back; I don't intend to let it slip away this time. End of discussion! ;)

As for your chest, eucalyptus oil is a natural expectorant. You could either diffuse that oil in your room, or you can sit at a table with a bowl of very hot water and a towel, put a few drops of eucalyptus oil in the water, put the towel over your head (to make a little tent so you take in all the steam) and breathe the steam for 5-10 minutes. Peppermint really works for me, too. You can of course do the same in a bath, which mixes well with tc's idea.

Keep us posted my dear!

Well ladies it looks as though things may be looking up on my end, even if just slightly. I looked up on Walgreens website all the drugs that I need to try and get some idea of a price; the only drugs that they have are, the Progesterone(a 10ml bottle is $38) and the Novarel.(10,000 units is $50) Does that sound reasonable? Apparently they don't deal with the
Follistim, Menopur, and Ganirelix because they are so expensive.
So if the offers are still out there I would love your help. Just ket me know what you would like me to do. Thank you in advance ladies.

Hi Ladies,

Jaby.... YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! Congratulations! Here's to hoping you've started the trend in this thread! Big hug!

Sonya... I know what you mean about not being able to focus at work! Between my test tomorrow and vacation starting on Friday, I can't even think about what I need to get done at work.

Bec...ugh on the bronchitis! Try hot water with lemon or even Tea with honey. Tea is a natural bronchial dilator so that should help open things up. Poor thing. Feel better!

TC... I'll keep you posted on my meds being available. Hopefully by the end of this week. Fingers crossed.

Sophie... Love reading your posts! Glad your PMA found it's way back to you. It's such a rollercoaster ride this IVF process. Congrats on AF finally showing up. Whoever thought we'd want her to show up?

hugs,
Ange

Jaby- CONGRATS on you BFP. I am so happy for you. Wishing you the best!

Ange- Good Luck tomorrow!! I will have everything crossed for you!

Bec- Sorry that you are feeling sick. I hope you feel better soon!

TC I am sorry that you seem to be having issues with the meds. It seems like there are tons of ladies that are more than happy help you out. I hope everything works out and that you are ready to begin on schedule!

As for me just doing my new countdown to Lupron day! This period has been a little strange. Since this is my first period since my surgery I am going to blame it on that. I had the worse cramps for the first two days and I just feel so tired and run down. Started the pill and not sure if that has something to do with it. Also I am on Day 3 of my period and it is basically gone. I am wondering if that may be another side effect of the pill. If anyone has expirenced any of this let me know.
Otherwise just waiting for Christmas. My DS cant even control himself at this point. I think he is a little like me in the patience department.

Well. thats all for now. Sending love; hugs and baby dust to all!
