Good Morning,

Only me! Yay I'm officially half way there, ok I'm over half way as I'm going in at 39 weeks but you know what I mean!

My excitment has gone and I'm now a bag of nerves! I have hardly slept. Deep down I know everything is going to be ok but above all that I'm so apprehensive.

Best go and straighten my hair, it makes me feel better. Nice and slick is better than a ball of fizz!

Will check back later

hayley nice to see you back... how are you?... a few weeks ago i was able to munch my way through a big plate full of food then look for more  but recently ive noticed im struggling to eat, even though im hungry i dont seem to have room for a 'big'meal.....the other day i took a small slice of lasagna with a few chips.... darren sat staring at me and asked if i was ill..... cheeky Image but i did however, an hour later manage to eat 2 slices of apple tart with cream  ....so smaller portions every few hours is how i manage to keep myself topped up...lol....ive bought myself some vest tops to wear with the hidden support panel instead of wearing a bra....bras are such a killer....but if i dont wear anything...well im sure you dont need to know  anyway we are going crimbo shopping at the weekend....so i will go get bust measured...xxxx

vita....hi love..how are you doing?,,,,ive been thinking of you... every week i tick my calander i put a tick at the week your at.... we are that close in dates.... my body feels so tight and uncomfortable so i guess you must feel the same or worse....its sleeping that is a killer...or trying to turn over in the night...hows the movements...stronger? xxxx

Hello,

Justine I hope all goes well at the hospital. Best to get these things checked.

Just popped on quickly to give you an update. The midwife went ok this morning. I'm measuring 23 weeks already. The scan was ok. The baby's kidneys have excess fluid which needs to be moinitored, I have to have another scan in 8 weeks. They couldn't see the sex as the baby was laying in the wrong position. Was a little disappointed with the scan as the position of the monitor meant only the consultant and Paul could see anything, he didn't turn it round to show me a thing!

Sorry for no personals it's been a long day so I'm going for a cuppa!

Hope you are all well.

Speak soon

Jo

My diabetic midwife just phoned to see how it went. She said it isn't uncommon with the new high tech scanning machines they have now. I will continue to be scanned regularly, I was going to be anyway because of the diabetes but they will look at the kidneys closely now too. Then when the baby is born it will have a scan and will be put on antibiotics and have regular scans for six months. That's as far as we know. So really it isn't nothing to worry about at this stage, and hopefully once it's born too.

I've decided today I may not find out the sex now. We are going to know its birthday as it will be a planned section so maybe not knowing the sex will be nice. But saying that, you wait until I have my next scan! lol

Will come and chat properly tomorrow.

Love to you all

Goodmorning Ladies,

Ive been MIA again, just havent been feeling too well since our last Level II ultrasound... When i found out one of my babies has a single umbilical artery missing, i decided to do research on the web, BIG MISTAKE! I came across sooooo many scary things that can possibly be wrong with my baby because he is missing the umbilical artery. After one week of waiting again i finally saw another specialist and was reasured that its not a must that things can be wrong because the baby is missing the umbilibcal artery, it can increase chances by 10% for chromosomal problems and heart and kiidney problems and IUGR, but becuase the baby's anatomical ultrasound came back normal he told us not to worry as much but need to be monitored every week. So as you can all imagine i was a total reck the last week, crying my eyes out and worrying that my baby might face a difficult life ahead. The idea of these difficulties was very real and i felt guilty for going through IVF and ICSI for my selfish reasons to have a child to love and now i was going to give a child a difficult life...... ALLLLL the things we should never think, i thought about! And pushed my self into seclusion and depression.... being on bedrest doesnt help!!! But thank GOD with his grace i know that everything will be healthy and completely whole with my child and children... Ladies please excuse my depressing post but that is the reason i havent been posting i just didnt want to bring down the spirit of this wonderful group of women. I have posted a really cool picture of one of my babes on photobucket, the doctor got a really cool shot of his hand right against my stomach..i thouht i would share... Miss you ladies, thank you all for remembering me and wishing me well... I think of you all the time.

Talk soon
Vita

Hey ladies,

Yet again, days have passed and I've not logged on. Two weeks left at work.... sooooooooooooooo much to do and so little time

Justine - Glad you got checked. If it happens again though, still do the same. I woke up wet with Sam, and rushed to toilet another twice. That was it, no pain etc. Had Sam that same day - even the doctors were suprised to see my water level had dropped so low - soo not expected that way. Don't know what I was expecting, think big gushhes like the film!!

Vita - It must be hard, but try not to worry too much. have faith that all will be fine...It's great they will monitor you so closely and don't worry, your feelings were/are perfectly normal and it just shows the bond you have with your babies already. Any child with the amount of love they will get from you will be very lucky...

Jo - how's things? The little monkey was hiding his/her bits eh? See, mind of their own already... I'm sure the fluid thing will be ok - and monitoring is always a good thing. Give them what for about the monitor though....

Kareen - Can't believe you went out without food the other day. Hope there's been no more episodes and all is well.

Hope everyone else is doing good.

Zoe x

P.S Oh, meant to say - finally got the physio appointment last Tuesday. Nearly cancelled it as I've been much better and managing it all well with the phone advice. However, went and was gutted. Definately have SPD problems - not split - YET, but right side of pelvis has moved up  :(
Recommendation was to be signed off work until Maternity leave starts - yeah right. No way I said - so we've compromised and I was to see how it went his week. No brace support though as she said I can't have one because of all the bleeding/spotting I had. If I get the extreme pain again - crutches for me
1st IVF - Easter 2002 - neg
2nd IVF - Summer 2002 - pos, but M/C 8 wks
3rd IVF Summer 2003 - pos with beautiful baby boy
April 2006 - miracles happen - positive naturally day after receiving IVF letter to start again! Another beautiful boy

Justine:
I'm so glad that your check-up turned out fine. I'm glad you are hanging with us for awhile on the 2nd trimester site.

Kareen: I still have not felt the little guy for sure. I have pains, pulls and tugs. I read that with your first, it takes between 18 - 24 weeks to feel the first movement. According to that article, I should definitely feel movement in the next 2 weeks. How do I find your photos on photobucket?

Jo: Glad to hear that your scan went well. I'm sure your little guy's (or gal's) kidneys will be fine. Your consultant needs to work on his bedside manner. The mother is the most important person to see the ultrasound. When I went for my 19 week genetic scan, the technician was getting irritated at me because I kept asking her questions while she was trying
to do her work. I would say, "Is that his arm moving?" She would say, "I'm not looking at the same place the you are looking." She was trying to take her measurements, etc.

Vita: Please try not to worry about your baby's missying umbilical artery. I was in the same boat as you, when I found out that Andrew had a Cardiac Echogenic Focus on his heart. I did so much research and was getting conflicting opinions. I found one article that said a baby's chances for having downs syndrome doubled with a Cardiac Echogenic Focus. After I got my new risk factors back (1:5700 change of having a baby with downs), I felt that even doubled, my risk comes back at 1:2850. I can live with that. I stopped researching and put my mind at rest. I know that it is difficult, but try to think of positive thoughts.

Take care all,
Tammy
