Margi - oh my, you have the worst luck with labs, it seems like. How hard is it to FAX a STAT order? I just don't understand. I hope you gave them a piece of your mind to those incompetent dimwits. Did you make sure it won't happen again, especially while you're stimming? This is nothing to mess around with. Sorry you have to deal with such nincompoops! Suppression and no cysts is a good sign, so yay.

Amanda - my beta day buddy.. please just wait for the beta day and don't lose hope yet. This is the main reason why I have yet to POAS. I don't think I could handle the disappointment. If I have to be disappointed, I would much rather be disappointed once and for all, not several times over and over again. Hang in there till Friday. Remember Lou's story? Just have hope!

AFM - Margi, yes, I'm surviving, but oh, the torture! I'm so afraid of beta day although at the same time, I can't wait to find out. I keep thinking about how "the call" is going to go down in my mind over and over again. I keep having dreams about it too. I've been having such restless nights. I want answers, but I'm so afraid of being disappointed. I'm not sure how some of the women on here handle one disappointment after another - I wish I were that strong. I think I will be a huge emotional wreck if it comes out as a negative and it'll take me weeks or months to get over it. Alright, I should stop thinking so negative. I am pregnant, damnit, and that's all there's to it! *fingers crossed*

Thank you I have not given up hope just yet. What time do you go for your beta Friday? I go at 9:15 Friday, but will have to wait all day for them to call me. I am going to tell the nurse to call as soon as possible bc last time they made me wait until late that afternoon. I would rather get the call over with regardless if it is good or bad news. If it is negative, I have no idea what we are going to do. We used our last bit money for this last cycle, so I am praying it is positive.

SD,
Thank you for kind message. I will pray for your little embies. I don't know why but my clinc seems only do 3-day transfer. I proposed to do a 5-day transfer but the doctor declined. Very strange. I am trying to stick to my decision but still feel sad and disturbed. Hope that I will feel better soon.

Lauren,
It is my third IVF but I am still scared to put all 3 back. I remembered last time, my second IVF, I was also feeling scared when the doctor suggested to put 2 back.... I am probably not brave enough for all these.

Margi,
I agree with you: there are a lot of decisions to be made along the way. I am not good at taking decisions but still I have to learn to take decision and then feel secure about it. When I was sitting in the small consulting room making the decision, I wished I could come to the board and got some opinions. What the embroylist did was only statistics, which I couldn't really relate :?

That is too funny. I am rolling in the floor. If I would have thought of that, I would have so done it!! Good luck. I have one test left for later today and then my beta!!

Lots of things happening here -- and not all good. Tiger and Lauren... I'm so so so sorry about the BFN. That sucks so much.

HopethisworksM - welcome! Congrats on the ER. How did your ET go? When is your beta?

Kerri - has your doctor explained why so few of the eggs were mature? That really sounds like a low percentage of mature eggs.... can they mature them in the lab? (sometimes if they are close, they can incubate them an extra day before fertilizing) How many to transfer is always an agonizing decision.... and any answer is both right and wrong.... if you transfer 2 and don't get pregnant, the question is always "would 3 have worked?". But what if you get pregnant with triplets from transferring 3? It's never easy to decide.

Katie - welcome back! So nice to see you! I'm glad you got your positive attitude back for your FET. I know how hard it is to try again after a loss. Hopefully, you'll get your 'take home' baby this time!

sunshine 12 - yay! PUPO!

Kristin - congrats on such a fabulous beta. I hope all goes well with your u/s! I know that the social worker at the adoption center was overly pessimistic about adopting 'at risk' kids, but I think DH and I have decided that while we might adopt in the future, it's probably not the right decision right now (being so young and trying to have our first kid).

Jeib - welcome to the crazy world of the 2ww ---- almost every symptom of early pregnancy is similar to a symptom of getting your period! Cramping can be either good or bad. No way to know! Sorry!

Rio - sorry your baby was being all modest! Either flavor is good though... a girl is something different and a boy can get all the hand me downs from your son! :D Your elephant certain did bring me good 'follie growing' luck!

Margi - as I said to Kristin, I think that adopting an 'at risk' child is not for us at the moment (too young and too hard for kid #1). We will put our names on the waiting list for a non 'at risk' child but that could take years, if ever. For now, the plan is to continue the IVF and maybe think about sperm donors. Really pisses me off that whenever we talk about infertility, people say "why not adopt?" GRRRRRR We would if we could! People really don't realize that sometimes IVF is easier, faster, cheaper, etc than adopting....

Amanda 1979- a negative HPT is so disappointing. I'm sorry hon

Darlene - thanks for your kind thoughts. What happened with my twins was awful and I think about it everyday. I sooo badly with I wasn't dealing with any of this sh*t. I've never used Lupron, but good luck with your next cycle. When do you think you will start?

Ashley - just one more day of torture until your beta! In a way, waiting until the beta is best, because you get 100% news with no doubt.... but I never can wait! Good luck

AFM -- YAY! FINALLY GOOD NEWS! Apparently Tuesday was just a fluke (or a slow start). Follies are growing GREAT now! While on Tuesday, the largest was a 10, today it was 16mm  The rest are close behind (a few 14s, 13s and 11s).... I haven't gotten the call yet, but the nurse this morning said I would probably start my ganirelix today and ER within a week! I'm starting to feel my ovaries being full and achy - so hopefully ER is soon.... get those ouchy-eggies out!

Good luck to our beta girls tomorrow, Ashley and Amanda!

hi everyone! :)

wannabeamum-thank you for your wishes! its good to have luck!! :D

Hotgreentea-Glad your ET went well! you are a PUPO! :)

CjinNC-Being indifferent can be good! :) Maybe all you need is a break from all these. fill your batteries and get back in the race! enjoy your life and have fun with your DH and it will happen soon! Dont worry! hang in there!! :)

Leorira-its a very good sing you are feeling things!...Have faith and everything will be OK! Good luck with your sns !!! I am looking forward to hear your good news on how much your follies have grown! :D

hopethisworksm-welcome on board! you have great news girl! all the best on todays ET! keep us posted on more good news PUPO girl! :)

Kerri-On my ivf #3 i had the same delema. i had only 3 embryos and we transferred all 3 of them..it end up with a BFN. What I want to say is that when is going to happen is going to happen no matter how many you transfer. dont go back thinking of what if! its no good for your PMA. what matters now is that you are a PUPO! so enjoy! i wish you a BFP in 2wks! :D

Katieb-welcome on board! you sound very ready for your FET indeed! all the best on tuesday!...(1) it looks like pineaple especially the core makes your endo lining thicker which Iam sure you know thats great for implantation (2) sorry, dont know about apple cider vinegar (3) I believe bed rest for at least 3 days following your ET will do you good. also is good to extra rest on the 5-6 day because those are probably the implantation dates. In general, there are no instractions for resting during the 2ww, but you should act like PUPO. so take it esy and dont overload your self. every woman acts differently depending on how she feels. so basicaly is up to you. (4) yes there is a possibility for embies to split. A.H should be done from a specialist who has already done it before. this is a very delicate procedure and it usually applies in women having to deal with repeated failure, couples that had many IVF's attempts with BFN and also couples whose time is running out because of age. A.H was developed from the observation that embryos which had a thin "shell" had a higher rate of implantation during IVF. By creating a minor defect in the "shell" might result in a greater chance of the embryo "hatching" alllowing for a better chance of implantation in the endometrium. There is a small risk of damage to the embryo during the micromanipulation process or at the time of transfer and there is a high increase in identical twinning. ....A.H is I am suggesting to my RE for this cycle wn=hen time comes. I have read so much about it and I believe if we have enough embies we are going to go with it.

SDtrying-Fingers crossed for you! :)

Tiger-I am so sorry hon :( ..the DNA thing I found out after failing my IVF#4 not the 1st :( Now is my #5 IVF :( so, a lot of money went wasted...i realy hope this time works for us. we need it big time! the IVF road was long and I need to come to end this time!

Lauren-I am so sorry! this realy sucks!! keep your head high and have faith! :( ...can you realy start a BCP right away! everytime i had a BFN I had to have my period 2 times and then start another ivf or pill. me RE allways wants my body to be free of meds (surpressed) and rested before starting another cycle....so sorry about your friends son! that is horrible! things like these happen and then we realize that what we are going through with IVF is jsut a walk in the park compare to all that suffering....I am so sorry! I'll be praying for that boy :(

Tiger/Lauren/Nuquiz/ Carol/CijnNC-Whats happenng with your insurance its outrageous! how much more money do they charge you guys! i dont have that problem since I have no insurance  but! we pay everything from our pockets! thank God so far we no problem with that. SO FAR! (up to now, we have paid including this cycle $30.000 plus my laparoscopy some meds I havent calculated...) i really hope this cycle works! we cant just spent this amount of money forever! we prefer spending them on our babies after they are born! with toys, and clothes and activities and trips to disneyland!!! ..this is the fir st IVF we are changing doctors. we thought we give it a chance with another doc. an ER this time. so this RE looks promising, since he is the one that found out about our DNA thing. so my OB/GYN up to date, was such a sweetheart! he is 4 years older than me with great sense of humor and very understanding for our situation. imagine that he was so too disappointed from our failures that he gave us a cycle free of charge! (we paid only the meds and the anesthesiologist fees) and up to the last IVF he didn't charge us with his fee! only the clinic and the lab and the meds of course. he also told me that he will not charge us his fees until we have a baby. every time he was so sure that it was going to work that he was feeling so bad and guilty when it didn't that he felt he should spare us the money for his fees. I called him Robin Hood! he is an excellent doctor and humanitarian! Too bad he didn' t do his magic on BFP...also NO other person calls to give the results of any test especially the Beta test other than this doctor. he even gives his mobile number to his patience to reach him when in need. he is so professional...

JKulab-I think this is a good sign of implantation! :D

Riogirl-I love your blinkies! :D especially the one for Margi! its hilarious and straight to the point! tell me how you make them! i want to colour my posts!

Margi-I am glad your sns went well!!!! i understant your frastration for the waiting! what is wrong with your labs girl! :o you have everyright to go according to your schedule and you should insist on getting things done! make them understant the importance of beign on time! i hope next time i read your post I read some good news on the subject!! dont let things like that ruin your PMA!!!! :)

Amanda-I am sorry dear :( i wish you good news soon!!!!

Penny-Glad everything is going great for you!! Go girl!! :D

HopeisallIhave-I wish you a BFP!!! have faith and lots and lots of patience and tranquility!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! Friday is only a breath away!! :D

Leora,
It was difficult choice, which I thought I would never have to make. About the number of mature eggs, it became my concern after two failed IVFs. After my last BFN, I had an appointment with the doctor to review possible ways to improve the success rate. The cause of myoma was removed after a virginal scan prior to the treatment. She changed the protocol to produce more mature eggs, which seemed work on the number of eggs but not the maturity of them. I proposed In vitro maturation, like what you said to have eggs grow a bit longer before fertilisation, but the lab does not equip with this technology. Ghost evaluated my protocols and said that they were quite standard. DHEA was not recommended by my RE. All evidence showed that I should change clinic if I am going to trying the next run.
Normally, I start Orgalutran (ganirelix like medication) on day 5 while you start ganirelix quite late. Do you know why it is? What is the reference to start ganirelix?

Anton,
You are right. What I have done is done. I should focus on my PUPO. Thank for this advice. Sometimes, my mind just gets blocked and needs other opinions to get off the hook.

Oh crap where did my post go? Oh well;
Margi- Don’t those ladies understand what start lab means? Maybe you need to remind them the defination of start orders. Tell them they are walking on thin ice if they don’t fax that slip now not 2hrs later. Anyway take heart and don’t get all worked up coz its not good during stimms.

Amanda- fingers crossed my dear. Don’t give you hope yet. Remember you are PUPO

Hope- You are also PUPO that is what matters now.

Sdtrying- Girl you are so brave. And triplets it will be. So lets all pray for those triplets to grow big and strong together. All the best my dear.

Leoriria- Holly molly what fertilizer did you give those follies over night? They grew from a 10 to a 16? Go girl. You are back on track. You see all it takes is to keep up the pma till that beta which will be a strong number. Follies continue to grow grow grow.

Caro- I looked into the obama healthcare thing and of course infertility was left out  . So still nocoverage, Maybe when one of those prominent men end up dealing with it then they will change there minds and include it in a bill.

Anton- I know girl the cost adds up. My hubby adds up the numbers and when he tells me what he have paid am like what? For what? Oh well when you are chasing a dream sometimes you get so focused to succeed and overlook other things. The sad thing is paying monthly on a card that you know you cant show anything for it at the end of they day. But what do we do? Keep trying hoping to succeed.
Oh well this is my final call to freedom to give them my credit card for meds ever. At least I don’t have to get as many meds as I usually get for other cycles but still it adds up so much. Then I just fund out ovidril prices have been increased from 50 to 65$ and gonal is still 780$ wtf do they think we milk trees off money?

Oh well AF finally arrive so I go in tomorrow for sns and hopefully this weekend begin my meds.
For those stimming grow follies.

Lauren and Tiger-I'm so sorry.

Lauren- Good luck at your WTF appointment. Hopefully you get some answers.

Riogrl- So glad everything checked out. Will you guys be finding out the sex if you can?

Leora- Yay so glad things are going better. I got scared on my cycle too and things just started popping up.

Sdtrying- Fingers crossed for you.

Amanda & Hopisallihave- Sendign BFP vibes to you guys.

Darlene- I did the logn cycle Lupron because the same thing happened with the antagonist cycle with me the second time I cycled and I triggered after 5 days and the doctor said when you trigger that fast that the BFP rates go down. Good luck with this next cycle. When I you starting? I'm starting mine around March 23.

Margi-So sorry you went through all that with the Lupron. I had a nightmare also with my cycle in October. The insurance company kept denying the menapur and kept saying waiting for the request from the doctors office and the doctors office had faxed it like 3-4 times. Freedom ended up hand delivering one vial of menapur to get me through as this was taking almost a week to resolve. In the end we find out it was just my insurance wanted us to use reponex instead. Boy was I and the girl Kate at Freedom pissed. Hopefully everythign is smooth sailing from here on out for you.

Anton- Wow that's a lot of money out of pocket.

Nwwhiz- When is your AF ecpected to come so you can start cycling?

Sorry if I missed anyone it's really hard to catch up and read all the post. Wishing you all the best though.

Yesterday was an absolutely horrible day for me. My dog Buffy suddenly died and we found her on the floor in blood and barely breathing. It was the worste thing in the world and its etched in my brain. The DH and I spent the entire day crying and I'm having all I can do not to cry today. That dog had one of the best personalities and was quite the character. I don't know anyone who didn't just fall in love with. She was a Lhasa Apso.

Kat - sorry to hear about your dog! my deepest sympathies. i know how hard it is to lose your dog. i had to put mine down 2 yrs ago and that was the hardest decision i had to make. i kept her collar and have a box of her ashes. They bring so much joy and happiness in our lives...it's hard to let go. take as much time as you need to mourn...just remember they will always live on in our hearts and dearest memories!
