I posted my medical notes of at the end of November and was offered an appointment in January. Unfortunately as I am currently away I cannot get there until April. They don't schedule that far ahead and I will call back in a week or so and see if they are filling that part of the diary up yet. My initial thoughts of time to get an appointment were about three months but this is definitely not the case.
Thanks for giving me an idea about timings. That is very helpful so I don't get carried away thinking that I will be going there anytime soon. My dh took in the forms on Wednesday. We cannot take all our notes yet as we are committed to one more cycle at Hammersmith.
They said that they'd write and let us know when we might get an appointment.
Hope that it is not too far away as I sense that I may be running out ot time.
Good Luck for your appointment in April. Keep me posted. Let's hope that it does the job for us both!
Just to let you know that we got a letter from argc this last Wednesday. Our appointment is 1st March. Not sure whether we fluked it and got a cancel or someone took pity on me cause of my age!??
I was totally gobsmacked. We will only be part way through cycle 3 but no way that we are going to turn it down!!!
Thanks for all the info re-argc that helped me make the decision.
That's great news. I wish you every success with it, and as you are going to be there one month before me, please let me know your thoughts and feelings on how the appointment goes. I have had to push mine back to Easter time but at least I have time to save the pennies.
Think that I am more focused on going to argc than I am about cycle 3.
I will be certain to post here after we have seen the consultant on 1st March.
In the meantime, I hope that the waiting is not driving you too mad! My acu guy told me that if you do want to get an appointment moved forward then you can call and ask if they have had any cancels. Of course depends on your timing but they don't just move people all up the list if they get a cancel. I hear that they get quite a lot of cancels as people give up the wait or get pregnant somewhere else and so don;t need appointments.
Thanks for the thoughts. Unfortunately we did get offered an appointment in January but as my hubby works abroad a lot it just wasn't pratical. I have done 3 IVF's in Asia so that he needn't stress out about being in the right place at the right time. I have left three frosties there as I am quite convinced that until I get some answers as to what my problems are it is just wasting good money and possibly good embryos.
I know how you feel about focusing more on the ARGC than your next cycle with your current clinic. However, this could work really well for you in that you are not stressed out and analysing everything and that could be your majic so again, I really hope you don't have to go to ARGC and it works this time for you.
All the bad press on poor Dr T has only made me more determined the man is a miracle worker, I have never read any genuine patients knocking him, only other professionals in his field, the claims also seem rather petty which kind of says it all. I read a week or so ago in the Hello magazine one of the footballers wives had been to him after three unsuccessful IVF's and she now has a little girl after virtually giving up hope.
Keep positive and good luck with everything. I wish you every success on this current cycle, but I also know how it must help you to already have your back up plan and appointment in place to keep your spirits up. Hopefully you wont be needing it.
