Completely Normal

Post by wannababynow »

I was completely freaked out when I first learned we were having triplets and I think that is completely normal...I mean you only have two boobs. :D

Things are sinking in now and we're very happy! I found a triplet forum that has been VERY helpful. There are tons of ladies on there and I think some on bedrest because they respond VERY quickly. I would reccomend this to anyone. There are suggestions on there from sleeping to what is the best triple stroller to buy...they are all WONDERFUL.

www.tripletconnection.com

I am so happy for everyone and can't wait to hear more!

Elvisbaby: My twins were orignally thought to be in 1 sac and we were told the chances for umbilical cord tangling was very high. At 13 weeks they found a membrane between the two, which was a good sign. TTTS doesnt appear until about 16-18 weeks in severe cases and in very severe 14-15 weeks like mine :( The farther along you get the more the peri will be able to tell.
Wannababy: I love your two boobs comment! Priceless!
I wish everyone the best.

Hey Jeck!!
I can't wait to hear the good news when your baby boy comes home finally! I know you have been trying to get him home for a long time now! Thanks for stopping by our website...my DH does that on our Mac and he is great at it. He has been gone last week so that's why it has not been updated, I don't know how to do it! :)

Kimberly, I'll ask him about that guest page, that is a great idea!

Janine, You are the farthest along I think, so I have to ask, how big are you?! I have seen pics of trip bellies and can't believe I am going to get that big!

Elvisbaby, how are you doing? Hope everything is going good.

I have my 1st high risk Dr. appt today, they are going to do a nasal and bone density scan. So I hope all is good. I love when I get to see them on the sono, they are so cute! I am about to be 13 weeks so finally get to move into the 2nd trimester!! YEA!

HUGS to all!

Hello fellow trip mommies. I thought I would update. I had my 2nd u/s yesterday. We saw all three heartbeats. They all measured within +/- 3 days of each other. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one nervous. I will have another scan next Thursday. Everyone have a great weekend.

js200632~
I'm very sorry you lost one of your triplets. I'm sure you and DH are heartbroken. I know you are so sad right now but you have to stay positive for the remaining triplets. There are still two beautiful babies growing and they need you to be sending them good vibes and warm thoughts. You are going through something many women will never experience but you have to keep faith.

I hope that your heart heals in Godspeed. HUGS!!!!

You are very welcome and remember we are all here for you. Vent as needed and know that this is the place where other women really do understand what you are going through. You'll get through this too even if it seems so hard today.

Let us know how your little ones are doing and if you have any questions about carrying two babies the Double Trouble thread is filled with women that have been a tremendous help to me.

Today is a hard day and tomorrow will be better~

I think I have to have a cerclage put in next week. Can you tell me how the procedure was? Pains, etc?

Hi ladies,

Allison - i basically look like i'm pregnant with one baby and due any day now. at least that's what everyone says ! I didn't really "pop" until about 16 weeks but then i just took off from there. So far i have gained 18 pounds and i'll be 26 weeks on saturday - moving into my 3rd trimester! Congrats on moving into your 2nd !! I know what a relief it must be for you.

rikirees - the cerclage was completely painless !!! i was a nervous wreck going into it - i was even afraid of getting the spinal for anestesia but that was not nearly as bad as i thought it would be. And the anestesia was wonderful - i didn't feel a thing when they did the cerclage. It was not painful afterwards either. It felt like nothing had even been done. I had some spotting that day and some cramping, but nothing major. My only problem, which no one prepared me for, is that the anestesia made me throw up about 5 mins after i left the OR and my blood pressure dropped to 50/20 - apparently, that is not unusual from the anestesia. If they offer you an antacid before the surgery, take it ! i didn't (because i heard it tastes nasty) and i wish i had. How many weeks are you? Are you getting a cerclage because your cervix already started to shorten?

js200632 - i'm so sorry to hear that you lost one of the babies. There is a lot of support available online at the march of dimes website for woman who have suffered a loss if/when you might be interested.

kholtan - it's so nice to finally have you over here on MY side of the fence! I'm glad you are still doing so well.

Hey Janine,

Just think, you are going to get bigger too! My dr. said he wanted me to gain 60 lbs and I have already gained 7. I measured my tummy and it was 36 inches. I match my DH now! HAHA
I am really starting to pop out now. I am almost 14 weeks but the babies measure 14 weeks already when they do their measurements. We got to see their little bottoms yesterday and b and c are boys! and baby a is still undecided. he didnt want to cooperate. but we could see b and c pretty good. of course it is still early so when we go back in 2 weeks I will be 15 weeks and she said we will definitely be able to see by then. I bet they will be so big by then! I wont get to see them for 2 weeks! Did you find out the sexes yet? If so, what week did you see them?

js200632,
I will be praying for you sweetie at this terrible time. we don't know why things happen but I hope time will heal this pain for you. Take care of yourself and those little precious babies!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi Allison,

Sounds like you are doing great! We found out the sexes at my 16th week ultrasound - but even then they said that they wouldn't be able to confirm it till they did the level 2 ultrasound (week 19).
We are having 2 boys and 1 girl ! Just wait till you get to do your level 2 ultrasound - you see everything from their brains to their kidneys and lips and it is amazing.
If you don't mind, I would like to offer one piece of advice. If i could go back in time and do this over again I would've asked my doctor early on about getting a cerclage. Fortunately, they were able to catch my cervix shortening on one of my visits in time to do the cerclage, but my friend, who was also pregnant with triplets, wasn't so lucky. In between her visits, she had some spotting, went to the hospital, and found out she was already 4 centimeters dilated - she spent a week in the hospital and the babies were born at 21 weeks and did not survive. Both her cervix and my cervix had these problems at 20 - 21 weeks. Also, i wouldn't recomend going any longer than 2 weeks in between your visits after week 16. when they realized my cervix was short, i was originally not suppose to be seen till the following week, but i called and said i wasn't comfortable going 3 weeks without a cervical check, so they moved my appointment up. Thank god i did that, because by the following week i could've been dilated like my friend was and at that point it is too late to do a cerclage. You just can never depend on doctors you know ? You really need to be your own, and your babies, advocate.
On a lighter note, i can't wait to find out what your "baby A" is ! Are you hoping for another boy or a girl?

Hey Janine,

Yeah I am 15 weeks now and haven't been to the Dr in 2 weeks so I am hoping everything looks good. I haven't had any problems so far with my cervix so I am hoping it stays that way. Just in the past 2 days I am really getting bigger and can feel my skin stretching. Doesn't feel nice! And my lower back is hurting on the right side. Massage doesn't help and neither did Tylenol. So I will just ask my OB Wed. about it.
We are hoping for at least 1 girl but if it is all boys that is ok too. I just want them to be healthy. We had a bunch of girls names picked out so now that it may be 3 boys we need to work on more boy names just in case!
Yeah my sono lady said around week 20 they do "anatomy" day where they spend at least 30 minutes on each baby measuring bones and looking at everything. I can't wait for that! Well I am off to eat...AGAIN! Does anyone else feel like a human Hoover!? :)

Hope all the Triplet mommies are doing good and hanging in there!
Big Hugs,
Allison

Allison,
Keep me posted on how you are doing ! My appetite is huge - i'm now up to 22 pounds but you wouuld think i should've gained 50 pounds by now the way i'm always eating !
I went to the hospital on sunday - i was having really bad back pain so my doctor told me to come in - they did a bunch of tests and fortunately it was just regular old back pain and not preterm labor. I'll be 28 weeks this coming saturday which is my next "goal".
Take care of those babies and keep us posted!

Rikerees - did you have the cerclag yet??

Janine
