Sciteacher77 -- your betas are very similar to mine. I tested 7dp5dt (3 perfect expanded blasts) and my beta is 280. RE says definitely twins, maybe triplets. Curious, since you did your US, do you have twins?

Faithinbaby -- cannot believe you had 362 and only a singleton! Remarkable.

The 2ww for the ultrasound is now driving me crazy! I guess we'll never be sane until we see and hold our little ones (and even then, we will still go crazy). AAHH, the joys of motherhood.

Hi Babyb,

I do not have multiples. I had my 5 wk 1 day ultrasound and there was 1 gestational sac measuring 5 weks 2 days. I go back next week for a 6 week ultrasound to look for a HB, yolk & fetal pole.

This is encouraging for me as my first IVF I did not have good repsonse either, however we did not cancel it.

What protocol did they have you on this time if you don't mind me asking??

Hi Julie,

Where in Chicago are you? I am in the suburbs and use FCI. Anyway, my second cycle was no Lupron. I took 2 weeks of BCP, waited 5 days and then begain follistem 450 and Low dose HCG. After 4 or 5 days Gonorelex (not sure on spelling) was added. At retrieval, 7 mature eggs were retrieved. 4 fertilized. We did a 5 day transfer with 1 perfect Blast and 1 grade BB. They grew out the others and we froze one. It was an AB. I am hoping this pregnancy sticks (I am paranoid about a miscarriage!) and we can go back and get our frozen one in a year.

Hey Michelle,

I'm in New Lenox. I went to Center for Reproductive Health in Crest Hill. They were great. IVF failure totally due to me....

I too was on BCP for about 3 weeks then stright to 300 follistim and Menopur (2 amps w/ half cc h2o) for 10 days. I did 2 shots of ganirelix on 9/9 and 9/10.

I see you were on 450 of follie......ummmm.....

I'm always interested to know the protoclols for gals that have similar response issues like me. Can I ask, how old are you? What was your FSH?

We are close to each other! I live in Plainfield! I teach in Chicago and FCI has offices everywhere, which helps me.

In my 1st cycle, that was cancelled, I was on Follistem 300. Once it was upped I responded much better. My FSH was 8 last year and I am 33. We thought our issue was all male as my husband has Cystic Fibrosis and had a lung transplant. He underwent a TESE procedure to extract spem and we did IVF with ICSI.

Was this your 1st IVF cycle? My doctor, who is great, said he has had women on as much as 9oo units of follistem.

Hi to Everyone!!

I´ve always wanted to write here for 2 years now but didn’t want to depress anyone with my story then. So ive been up to date with what everyone has been through..Im new to this chat room by the way and this is my story: Me 36 DH 32 -Weve been trying to have kids for 4 years with no success and have been married 7 years + started to regret not trying right away. We then tried IUI TWICE with no success and then shifted to ICSI, I was 34 by then. First IVF failed since only 2 out of 5 embryos fertilized and were planted ...It was too tragic for me that I changed clinics (just in case) only to get worse results: 2nd IVF = 3 eggs = 2 fertilized...by the way I did get an A quality for the 1st IVF and B quality for the 2nd with max 4 cell split. And again negative results....I went into depression and decided that sorrow was affecting my otherwise happy disposition not to mention my happy married life and profession.

The next year I took a year long break so at 35 I finished my archi studies in Italy mostly to escape what I went through: the joy of expecting only to be hurled back into deeper sadness when the IVF´s failed, all the medication plus the mounting expenses!!!!! But the thought of getting pregnant and having a family never left me...And so now at 36 and refreshed from the much needed break, I started another round of IVF treatment with my first doctor (the one I used for the first IVF) last August. After taking higher doses of meds + a new one Menopur, they retieved 15 eggs!!! OK only 6 fertilized and in the end only 3 eggs were of good quality = 2 "A" quality and 1 "B" and all 3 were planted with 4 cell split. Again going through the 2ww was what I dreaded but this time I was more prepared and stacked up on books, dvds, chocolates and something I never had during the first 2 IVF....MORE POSITIVE ATTITUDE Before I knew it testing day came. As it approached though, exactly the day before, I got spots of blood but before that my breasts started to hurt and produce liquid so I was confused. When more blood came DH and I just hugged and cried as we knew that it could have failed again since the first 2 IVF had the same symptoms (except for the swelling breast symptom) of blood spotting and then growing into a full blown menstrual cycle and then followed by a negative result. But still WE NEVER STOPPED PRAYING AND HOPING!!! So today the 22nd Sept 07 is testing day and after drawing blood in the clinic this morning we got one of the best calls ever, if not the BEST!!!...that IM PREGNANT! They say “3rd times a charm and I guess its true!” I just had to share my story of HOPE also because of the most recent message of Michelle entitled "I´M PREGNANT!!!!" posted today since I wanted to share the same happy moment ..

So please do not neglect the POWER OF PRAYERS and a POSITIVE ATTITUDE. DH and I just never lost faith in God and each other...even through tears we laughed again and said IT WILL HAPPEN!!! ….when almost lost in sorrow or desperation just TRUST in the treatment, close your eyes, say a prayer and know that it can work!!!! Were lucky to also be born in an era where HELP is getting better…

You poor thing, so you take 55 to work into Chicago everyday?

I used to work all the way up by western and addison (north of wriggley)-----that was a terrible commute. I had road rage everyday---had to find a job closer to home.

Sorry about your DH...sounds like the 2 of you have been thru a lot even w/o the fertility issues huh?

Yeah- your FSH is more in line versus mine.

This was my first IVF cycle in Sept. We will be trying again in Jan 2008. We are taking some time off and collecting our thoughts and money.

I think I have some follistem 300 left over. If you are self pay & interested, I will happily give you anything I have left. We used the 450 for the second round, and I didn't want to get stuck twice by using the 300 vials. So any I have are yours. I also have Lupron and I will check on anything else. Don't give up. I have everything in my fridge. just let me know if I can help.

Yes, I take 55 every morning! I work in Rogers Park - 55 miles from home! I am a teacher and love my school. However, I will be taking time off when the baby comes & when I go back it will be out here.

Thanks Michelle for the meds offer. I will keep you posted if I need them based on the stims they put me on for my 2nd round. I have like 5 vials of progesterone left over since I never made it that far...ha...and boo hoo at the same time.

Pls keep me updated. That is very good you will be able to go back to work closer to home.
