Anyone else stimming for Egg Retrieval early November?

Nicaliw - Wow great numbers - no wonder you are feeling it! Crossing my fingers for you!

My u/s this morning was good. Around 10 midsize 10-15mm and about 8-12 on each side that were smaller. Waiting for E2 call this afternoon and they will probably lower my GonalF again trying to give the small ones time to catch up. Apparently everything is still growing. Although constantly uncomfortable, they are growing slower than they did the first couple days which is why I don't feel the drastic increase in pressure EVERY morning. Because of the amount of follicles and high E2 they said I will probably need to get u/s every day from here on out- wonderful....

Hey all,
My doc never gives me numbers for anything. I been reading this forum for a while and it seems like every body has numbers. All my DOC ever says is every thing looks good. Sometimes I wonder if this is good or bad since the last IVF did not stick. But I know my whole problem is implantation. Does any one have any advise on what I can do on my own to help implantation?

Buddy,

Are they doing ultrasounds and blood work very frequently? I know I'm getting those things checked daily now until they are ready for me to get the trigger shot. Its my understanding that they need to check frequently so they can titrate the doses of your meds.For example, they just lowered my dose of gonal F from 225 to 75 then I'll be re-checked in the morning.

Dreambaby, woo-hoo, you have lots of follies too!!!! Thats great, we're off to a great start. All those little "half babies". So exciting.

Nicaliw -I see you are in CO. I have friends in CA that after failed attempts in CA went to a clinic in CO and had BFP each time. They have a 3yr old and 1 yr twins. They implanted 1 embie and got singleton and the next time the implanted 2 and got twins. They know a few people that all got BFP's there as well. I will take that as a good sign for you

your down to 75 GonalF? You must be VERY close.

They pushed me down to 125 and I have u/s at 8am tomorrow. Can't wait. I have to admit I have a hard time focusing on anyting else!!!!

Dream baby, I am having a similar experience to yours right now. I have about 20-25 follies. They lowered my Follistim (and ended it yesterday) and now I'm "coasting" to avoid OHSS. My E2 is 4400 and they want it to lower. Has your RE mentioned OHSS? Mine said I'm on the brink of it but said he thinks we can avoid it because we caught it in time. I'm hoping my RE is overreacting, and your experience gives me hope for that. I'm on the daily u/s and E2 also. I thought it sounded like I had a good amount of follies, and my E2 was low on my first cycle (this is my second).

My gut is quite swollen too, and achy... it will be worth it, I have to believe that!

Grace I am sure you must be really sore it goes with having so many follies! With such a stong response to stimming my RE said there was no reason to "tough it out". He said that although tylynol is always safe that most people don't know that vicodin is completely safe as well when it comes to pregnancy and during stimming (you can't drive while taking it but it actually works) If it gets bad you can always ask about it. I know some people don't like to take anything.
My RE said that everyones E2 will be different. Even the tiny follies are producing estrogen so there is no "ideal" E2 and the E2 is only meaningful combines with u/s counts/measurements. Good luck and let us know what happens tomorrow

Buddy - I get lost on many peoples posts trying to desipher the numbers and measurements etc. When my RE does the u/s they measure the uterus, the ovaries, each follie and read out the measurements to a nurse that writes them down. I see a different RE each day based on who is available, but they all operate similarly at this clinic. If you are curious I am sure you can ask them to talk you through the exam as well.

They take photos of my follies and measurments with the ultrasound and give them to the Doc to look over and decide my meds. I have been droped from 3 vials of 75iu Gonal-f to 2. I went for U/S this morning and still waiting to here back. I go every other day until next week than I will go everyday. I kind of like not haveing to stress on growth and size because I know if anything was going wrong my doc would discuss with me. I will see what they tell me today.

They do u/s every other day and will start everyday next week. I guess I just read about everybody eleses numbers and think I should know my too. But I kind of glad I don't less stuff to worry about and I know that if my doc seen something wrong she would tell me but she said every thing looks great I guess thats all I need to know for now.

Hi Ladies, hope you don't mind if I join. I too am stimming for transfer next week, although my numbers aren't as good as most of yours! Wow! I can't believe the numbers of follicles you all have. Congrats! My little ovaries aren't playing quite as nicely. Yesterday was day 8 of stims and I have only 2 follies and a low E2 count (150). But, Doc is staying hopeful that we can get good eggs out of both. It's amazing how we all react so differently. Going back again tomorrow for another u/s, and keeping our fingers crossed that the E2 keeps rising...

cornybaby - I wish I could send some E2 your way. (Grace probably feels the same!) Apparently I react very quickly to stims. My E2 keeps going up so fast that they have me doing daily u/s and reducing my GonalF every night.I have a ton of follies, but I will probably have over a dozen that won't be able to get big enough before they trrigger becasue of the high E2. We are all going through the same thing, but all are worrying. I had 25 retrieved last time but 0 fertilized. So, I wouldn't worry so much about the number. I just keep praying that ICSI will make a difference

buddy - The difference may be that the clinic I go to is completely self contained, the REs do all the tests, u/s, boodwork, and ER and ET right in their office, lab, and surgery suite. Perhaps not knowing would be better, I stress over what is good and they always apologize for being "vague" because the answers change daily.

Nicaliw - u/s this morning and they said they may have to trigger tomorrow, but they think it will most likely be sunday. 10 days of stimms would have me at a ER of Wed, so I will probably be a day or two ahead. If we trigger on sat, RE on mon, the ET would be on our wedding anniversary on Thurs. That sounds like some extra good luck to me! But, we won't know until u/s tomorrow

Hi everyone,

So my follicles are behaving themsleves and growing nicely, there's around 25 or so and they measure 12-16mm. My E2 is right on track (around 1100) so are my other labs, so I guess I'm feeling very blessed right now.

Dreambaby, thanks for the success stories, I like hearing those. I feel very confident in the ability of my RE and I know whenever I'm there it seams like most people are there from out of state, so CCRM must have a really good reputation. I know what you mean about not being able to think about anything else. I am so bad that I was talking to my husband earlier and accidently substituted the word "fertility" for another random word cause thats all thats on my mind. I know it must be driving everyone I work with crazy, but thats OK, I'm enjoying it and we go through so much I think we have a right to be excited at this point.
So my ER was tenatively planned for 11/7 but I'm wondering if they might bring my date forward too. The nurse said something today about not being quite ready for the trigger shot today, she brought it up, I wonder if that means I'm getting close like you suggested? Fine by me, the sooner the better. Oh, thanks for the reminder about the time change, you read my mind, I was going to post a reminder too after seeing it posted on every door at my RE's office this morning.

Grace, looks like you have lots of follicles too! What a lucky group we are, hope this is a sign that we're all going to get our BFP's this time. I'm right there with you on the swollen gut, but like you said, its going to be worth it in the end.

Buddy, I wish I had your laid back approach to knowing all the numbers. I quiz my poor sonographer and nurse every day, I'm sure they wish I'd just relax and be quiet.

hey !! today is my 3 rd day stimming !! i go monday for bw and wenesday for us.. just hope everything will look good.. im so excited.. im on 300 follistim and 5 lupron.. so didnt think about the time change.. i ve been doin my shots at 730 .. so should i now start at 630 for sunday night ??

Nicaliw- do you know when ER will be yet?

I just got back from RE and E2 is at 5,000 so we are triggering tonight. Luckly folliies grew quite a bit since yesterday so we should be in good shape. ER is monday. I am much less nervous about ER than I am about that call the next day about the embies!

dream-baby, how exciting, you're almost there!!! I can hardly wait now. Today my E2 is 3608 so I'm not taking gonal-f tonight, just luveris and lupron. My follicles are growing nicely, averaging 16-18mm. No mention of a trigger shot for me yet. All in good time, though, can't be more than a few days.
How big are your follicles? I can't wait to hear how things go for you. Good look, good luck, good luck!
