How much Follistom do you use?

HI LAdies... I juststarted stims yesterday 11/8/08... and theystarted me at 225u daily. Ans I was on 20u of Lupron, but they lowered it to 10u. I go back in on Wednesday to check on Folls.

This is my first cycle of IVF, but I also have PCOS... I dont know why they started me so high. I just hope everything turns out well.

I'm 31, with PCOS
DH is 34

Started Oct cycle 10/7
BCP 10/11 - 10/31
Lupron 20 u 10/26
Nov AF 11/6
Follistim 225u 11/8
Lupron 10u 11/8

I do 150 am, 300 pm for a total of 450!

I add 225 of menopur to that!!!

I had 9 eggs retrieved, 7 are mature, 6 were fertilized. I had 2 embryos transferred on Day 3; but none of the remaining 4 embryos went through Day 5 I'm also waiting for the test - should be on Nov. 16. Is it close to yours, Deestar? Good luck!

ladyj- i was on 450ui daily. but i do not have pcos. at my clinic, the highest ever is 450 daily.

Karen... I asked my nurse why does everyone get differnt dosages.

She said according to my chart and personal situation. Since I have PCOS... they have to control the cycle m ore carfully. They have me on Lupron to shut down my HCG, etc. That way I will not ovulate. Since I have PCOS and my AF are irregular, there is no knowing if and when I ovulate so wiith Lupron they r controling it. And the stims, women with PCOS tend to produce more follicles. So they dont want to give o high dosage and risk OHSS.

It is all so weird yet so amazing to me.

So wednesday when i go do my US, they will determing if they need to lower, raise or keep at 225u for the rest of my cycle.

sounds about right! we are all very unique women throughout this process
