Yes, thanks that actually makes me feel better :D .
My doage is 10u!

No I am not worried about the injections whatsoever, I overcame my fear in the summer during my IUIs with gonal-F.

It is that my Dr said she normally would not downregg someone my age, 41. Because she feels I had a good responce in the summer with just stimms she decided to do it in the end. I am just afraid of being overly downregged and not having a good responce to the stimms this time and since this is my only shot I wonder if I can find out somehow before it is too late. When in the process was your Lupron dosage changed?

Knowing how my clinic works I will have to insist on viewing all resaults myself and advocate strongly, they tend to be a bit slow to pick up things out of range. I wonder just how low your LH has to be for them to reconsider the dosage?

Lady_J wrote:Here is list on my meds in the first cycle. And also, dont let the needles scare you. They are not that bad at all. Also, start finding out if your clinic offers any Injection Training.. it helped me alot.

BCPs (to downregg your menstruation)
Lupron (to keep you from ovulating)
Follistim (to stim your follicles and hopefully produce alot of llittle eggs for you)
HCG (trigger shot.. 36hrs before ET)
PIO (provides progesterone hormones after transfer. These are the big needles for the butt)
Vivelle Dot patches (provides the estrogen hormone also after transfer)

Are you taking any Vitamins or preparing in any other way in the meantime?

Welcome again and good luck.
Lady J
Looks like you listed everything I have in my bag, with the exception of BCPs (which they don't have me taking):
Lupron (10u's to start)
Follistim
HCG
PIO (These needles make me a little nervous!! )
Vivelle Dot patches

My clinic does offer injection training and already showed DH how to put the shot in for Lupron. The lady actually made me stand up and show her my belly so she could show me how the needle felt going in!!! , I was like, WHAT!!!, but after she did it, I really was a little more relaxed about the Lupron shots because I really didn't feel it much. :D

Those big needles though are another story.

I remember I have a box with two bottles in it, one is like a saline (water) solution and the other is like a powder tablet. Do you know what this is and what it's for?

I am taking a multivitamin that has folic acid to help prepare for pg, but that's about it.

I'll keep you ladies informed. Good luck on your cycle Lady J! Baby dust to ya!!

My doage is 10u! I actually start out at 10u as well.

... this is my only shot... We are a lot alike, for money reasons, this is our only shot as well for IVF.
Looks like our IVF cycles may be close as far as the ER and ET, only I may be doing a 3-day transfer depending on the quality of embies. My RE will discuss the ER and ET dates at my 01/05/09 appointment.

Looks like if all goes well you'll know also around Valentine's Day if you are getting a precious gift!! :D

Good luck, baby dust to you!!!! *****************************

jennlb25- first off... your name is NUTS to me. my name is Jennifer Leigh B----- (dont care to share my full name) and I am 25!!! SO FUNNY.... dont know why but that made my day.

ok- I think the saline solution and tablet is your progesterone shots? Mine comes premixed with Sesame Oil but I think they also come in the form you mentioned. Also, there is nothing to worry about with the big needles. I actually found them to hurt much less than the tiny ones. Just make sure DH stays in the area shown by the doctor and you will be just fine.

As for me, still waiting on this m/c. I found out yesterday that even if I do it naturally, I have to wait another month for IVF #2! I couldnt believe it. I feel like jumping right in would help me mourn my loss a little better. I went out with DH last night and had sushi- something I have been missing since Oct when this whole IVF round started. It was great to feel like we used to, pre-babymania. Maybe a month off would be good for me and us.

Have a great day ladies, I am so excited to be in this new chat room. It has really helped me mentally move on. Just knowing ya'll are there for me and that you understand the pain of this whole process gives me hope and strength to keep going

LOL, my name is Jennifer Lynn B..... I did start using this name online when I was about 25, I am now 34 however. , JEEZE I feel old. LOL

I'm sorry to hear about the m/c! :(

You know, I think a month off and not having your life dictated every second of the day by shots, pills, patches, etc. would be a good thing. Just sit back, don't think about anything but you and DH. Have a second honeymoon, because when you get your BFP ....your life will be forever changed (or that's what my little sister says anyway...she has a 7 month old). Can I just say....vent here....that was really tough to take at first, my little sister getting pg after only 2 months of trying and just two weeks after calling me to see how much my boss (an attorney) would charge her for a DIVORCE!!

Anyway, I've adjusted to it now and I absolutely LOVE my little nephew!! He is just the most precious thing in the world!

Good luck! Baby dust to ya!!! **********

Hi Jennlb25,

Sounds like we are going to be perfect buddies! I can't belive we will know in time for valentines!

What do you do?
I work with disabled people, wanted to be a psychologist but never made it past my BA....

Did you have an antreal count at your u/s?
Mine was only 9 and I know that means less chances....
I am 41!
How is that for making you feel younger?

Crazy stuff about that divorce! I have been married for 11 years and could not think of trading my DH out for anyone else
(Besides, he has superwinner spermies )

Waiting for 4- I am so very sorry to hear of your loss, I have never been PG but if I had a choice I would rather never get pregnant then having to go through M/C. Taking time off is good though. This summer I did 4 iui cycles back to back and I got so fed up with constant needles and pokes I almost changed my mind....who needs this anyway? Well here I am back for more :o

Good thread girls, glad I found you :D

So addicted to sharing so I must share this, just found out my 27 years old assistant is Pregnant! I am very happy for her and for my own selfish reasons, now I can talk babies and pregnancy to my hearts content and nobady will be the viser!

Also I am reminded of an old prediction that was made for me many years ago that around the time I get pregnant everyone around me will get pregnant at the same time, so far I have one good friend and my assistant not a bad start........

Destressed

Post by Sisi1 »

Just wanted to announce I have de-stressed myself about the Lupron by reading up.

During that iui cycle when my Dr said I had responded well in the fall my E2 went up to 4500! I knew that it was high and the ovulation felt painful and I remember thinking at the time I must be slightly overstimulated but I had no point of reference...until now :) . This was from 8 x of 225iu so I am thinking I am a good responder after all (and a high obsessor to!) so back to trusting the Dr, BIG SIGH  All is well again.

Have I told you lately how much I LOVE this forum?

Hi Ladies... sorry for not posting earlier. I had a busy day at home sleeping :P I didn't come in to work today.. according to my chart these next couple of days are my most fertile days so I decided to stay home and do the baby dance first thing in the morning so that I can lay here with my butt propped up a pillow. Just in case by some miracluous event, I get PG naturally. No harm to try before I start IVF again, is it? Anyway... so we did that after my DH took our daughter to school... then I woke up to get ready because she had a Holiday Performance at school that we went to at 1:30p... so we went and it was nice. Came back home and took another nap and just sent my DH off to work, so now I am here posting away.

I see that this is going to be a great forum after all... its so exciting. And I am so glad that u like it Sisi1. Now for my Personals...

Sisi... I am glad that u r getting more comfortable with your Lupron injections. So you had a prediction before? This will be your time, I can feel it. I had a card reading before by one of my distant cousins. She told me about my life, marriage, described my DH down to a tee. I asked the question... how many children will I have... she told me 3. i have one so far, so I am still waiting for my other 2... but for sure we are going to build up so much PMA throughout the weeks and we will getour BFPs this time. As for the DH, I feel the same as u. I love him so much and no matter what... I wouldnt trade him either

JennLB25... I have always had irregular menstruations. I think that is why they put me on BCPs, basically to control my AF for the cycle. I have been on Metformin which has regularized my AF awhole lot, but still dont want to take their chances. As for the box that has the 2 bottles (liquid/powder), and it's only 1? My HCG shot was like that, is it called "Chorionic Gonadotropin"? If it is then that is the trigger HCG shot. That is the most important one of all. That is the one that is going to make u ovulate. They will tell u exactly what time to inject u and it has to be the exact time. U don't want to ovulate before they retreive... so u usually inject 36hrs before ER. The Leupron and the Follistim, I was too scared to do it on the belly... so I was doing those injections on my front thigh, and I didnt feel a thing. and finally the PIO injections... with the long thick needles  well, dont let those suckers fool u. Those were the injections I dreaded the most... but it was not bad at all... and I actually would do them myself. Since I had to do it on my outer butt, my RE drew a circle of where the shots go... so I just had my DH trace the line everyday cause with a shower the ink would come off... and since he works nights, and I was told to do them at night, I ended up doing them myself. I would rubb the are with ice for about 2 minutes. Clean it, then I would do it in front of a mirror, it was the only way... and wala. But if your DH is up to it and can, then just let him do it. I practiced before hand with the Seringe, I just took out the needle and just to make sure my arm could reach back there. I am taking Prenatal Vitamins, with an extra Folic Acid vitamin... and my DH is taking an Anitoxident Vitamin. Thanks for the babydust... and now I send some your way as well.

waitinffor4... how r u feeling babygirl? I can see that you are excepting it now, even though I know it is the hardest thing to have to except. And I am glad that we can be here to support u thru this. So, u would have to wait about a month to start again... well, whenver it is, we are still here for you. But I am also glad to see that u r ready to start again asap, that is such a great sign. So u went to have u some Sushi... I bet it was good after all that time. I ams till dying to have me a Jumbo Pina Colada... wich I am hoping to have really soon.

What r your plans for the Holidays? For me, Christmas here with my family and New Years... I want to party and have my Pina Colada or a few... I just want to enjoy my last month before getting back on the IVF wagon.

sisi1 - If you are only taking 10 U you should be good. 10U shouldn't oversuppress you and seeing that it looks like you are a good stimmer then you don't want to over stimulate. Obsess all you want, we will be here to bring you back down to the ground.
As far as everyone being pregnant at the same time, i feel i have missed that window. My sister, 2 of my cousins wives were PG and of course I wasn't. O'well I guess that is life.

Welcome JennLB25 - glad we get to be on the same board again. How are you doing since your surgery. i should be behind you on our cycles. I figure I won't have ER/ET till the middle of Feb. Don't know for sure yet, will find out more info on Tuesday when I have my second consult with another RE.
Also the tablets with the saline solution, could be Menopure or Bravaville. I think you have to mix both of those.

Lady_J - Are you surviving the weather? Today wasn't bad here, just cold. We are supposed to be getting more freezing rain tomorrow. YEAH!!!

Hi Chris... Yeah, the weather is great :? It was so bad yesterday after work... waht would normally take me 15 minutes to gwt home, took me an hour. I swear we were driving like 10 mph. The streets were sooo bad. I was actually scred cauz my car kept sliding. But TG I made it home safe and sound. Then I had to worry about my DH when he left.. and what normally takes him 10 minutes, also took him an hour. so he was late to work. The streets are better today, but I havent checked the weather for tomorrow. I hope it is not bad again... I hate it. So r u excited for your appoinment on Tuesday? I am glad that u already r feeling more comfortable with this RE. Lots of luck to you.

hi girls. I was reading through ya'lls posts and decided there are too many coincidences in this room for it to not be a good sign...

So i share the same Initials as JennLB25 (and my mom's middle name is Lynn!), my mom lives in Chicago (Whiting, Indiana really but close enough to Chicago) like Lady_J, and my friend lives and works in Wood River (my company is working on the refinery out there)... This is our time girls!!

My nurse confirmed that she expected my next ER/ET would be March?! I couldn't believe I would have to wait until then  ... DH was upset bc my RE said if i did a natural m/c that I could start my next cycle immediately. So he called the doctor and lucky me- I have an appointment tomorrow!! I am so excited. I had my m/c today. I feel like I can move on now. I am sure I will still have my moments but I feel like my little guy is just waiting in heaven for a tiny body that will be perfect enough to house his precious soul- sappy and cheesy I know, but DH told me thats why this happened and I tend to believe it.

snow sounds great... we actually had some here last week but you know Texas- the weather changes about every 10 hours so of course my day started at 40 degrees and ended in mid 70s!

I am sure I will check in with ya'll tomrrow afternon but definitely will update after my apt tomorrow... have a great night ladies! I am so happy to be in this new group. :D

waiting for 4 - That is funny about the coincidences. The refineries are about 2 miles from my house. I also have a friend or 2 that works there. What does your friend do?
That is so courageous of you to start again so soon. I know it takes a lot of strength. Good luck at your appointment.

Chris,

My friends are in project controls, making sure the engineers/construction are doing their jobs right. :) Thats what I do in the office here in Sugar Land, just on a project in Sakhalin Island, Russia.

Have a good night! I need to make some cranberry sauce for the office xmas party tomorrow.
