rikirees, at my clinic our RE recommended only thawing as many frosties as we plan to transfer. In my case, I plan to transfer two. That should leave me with 5. It's my understanding that if one or two do not thaw or if they become less than stellar, there is still time to unthaw another to transfer. Originally my RE mentioned unthawing three, transferring two and then doing something (I didn't understand the logic) to the third and then maybe refreezing it if "it jumped through the proper hoops" to make it to a day 5 blastocyst. With our fresh cycle, the RE kept out three, transferred two and then the third didn't make it to a blastocyst, so it was essentially wasted. I did get pregnant with the two, but lost the one...so, I just didn't want to "waste" another this time around. I don't know the exact grades of my frosties because my clinic doesn't really share that info. The RE told me they were all "excellent" quality as were the two that were transferred in '06. The other brilliant news I received was that my clinic as a VERY high unthawing rate. Their rate is 99% unthaw and are able to be transferred. I think that's pretty amazing, especially after some of the numbers I've read online.
I want so bad for this to work right away! I was so spoiled with my first fresh cycle working on the first try! I suffer from PCOS and male factor infertility, not other problems such as miscarriage, ectopic pregnancies, etc., so in my mind, I feel like I should be able to get pregnant right away again! I'm nervous about how I'll react if it doesn't work. Luckily we should have at least 1 or 2 more cycles left with the frosties we have remaining.
I'd ask your clinic your specific questions regarding thawing, refreezing, etc. From reading these boards, I've come to realize that every clinic is very different and everyone is on a very different protocol. Good luck!
~Sarah

I have PCOS too:) I also got spoiled from this RE. I was with another one who in retrospect was just taking my money and a WASTE of time. Once I switched the new RE looked at my records and knew in 1 minute what was the "right" treatment and I got my BFP on the first try with him. Just like you, I will be caring for my DD at the same time so I worry the day to day activities of picking her up and doing regular mom stuff might give this a lower success rate. After all last time I didn't do much of anything during the 2ww and this time it is a totally different story. Glad we are on the journey together! Good luck! (And by the way my DD's name is Sarah too!!)

Oh honey I am so sorry BUT keep the faith. The HPT are made for ppl who are not really just a few weeks pregnant. You will be in my thoughts and prayers for a BFP surprise tomorrow.

I just realized that I didn't get back to you! I'm on the March/April thread too, so it gets confusing! Like you, I'm very worried about caring for my son while the 2ww. My clinic recommends not lifting anything over 25 pounds. My son is 28! I lift him all the time even though he's perfectly capable of walking!! I spoil him! But, he's still sleeping in a crib, so my husband will have to get him up every morning, and I'm pretty bummed about that because that is my favorite thing to do! He's so cuddly in the morning!!
I'm all set to go for next Thursday (4/2). I had my u/s yesterday, and my lining looked great! I just continue on the meds until then and then start the progesterone the day or so before the transfer. I'm so excited! I'm feeling really good about everything. I want it to work right away like it did with my son. I'm spoiled to have had it work on the first try!!
How are you doing?

Thanks rikirees! I am happy that we are all sharing our journey together. Looks like you are a week ahead of me in the schedule, good luck! Waiting to see lots of BFP's in our little group!
Hey! I had my FET this morning. It went well. Two excellent quality embryos implanted. I've been resting all day, but unfortunately this evening I started getting really bad cramps. I'm wondering if it's from the progesterone suppositories. I did the PIO shots with my first successful IVF, and I didn't suffer these cramps. Anyone else have this happen? If I'm not feeling better by tomorrow morning I'll call my RE to check in. I'm hoping it's just my body getting used to the added progesterone to my regimen of meds.

Hi Sbr, Thanks for sharing your progress , 2 good quality embryos ! wow thats good news. Coming to cramps i think it may be the progesterone but i am not sure. I would say Aspirin might help, but don't go for Tylenol. If it continues yes it is better to call RE. Praying for you and sending you lots of baby dust. When is your test ? !!
I just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck and i hope you all get BFP
I had one fresh ivf fail, but i have just got my BFP from a frozen transfer 2 embies good quality, i had no symptoms whatsoever,
