ianmichael - OMG! I just realized you were from Indiana! What part and what clinic did you go to? I'm in the Fort Wayne area. I went to Midwest Fertility. I can't believe you have to wait so long for your ultrasound with next week being your 7th week. I'm too impatient! I will have my u/s on 4/21. This wait is definitely worse than the 2ww for beta.

OMG Aims!!! YES, I go to the very same clinic- Colver is who I see. We live in Warsaw, so it can be a bit of a drive..... he is out all day next Wednesday in a meeting or conference. I like to keep my appointments to Wednesday afternoons because I flex out of work and don't have to miss/use any extra time.

So who will you go to for ob/gyn? I will be seeing Rumsey at the Women's Health Advantage.

The tickers are quite fun!!! GOOD LUCK TARA!!!!!!!!!

ianmichael - That's so cool we go to the same clinic! I see Dr. Bopp. I had Colver for my first retrieval. He's really nice too. Once released to my ob/gyn, I will see Dr. Scott at Women's Health Advantage.

I'm actually waiting for one of the nurses to call me back. I think I did too much yesterday. Between work and school yesterday, I had a 14 hour day. By the time I got home at 8pm last night and sat down to relax, I was so bloated. And I started having abdominal pains. It wasn't like AF cramps, but I did start to spot last night. The abdominal pains and spotting are pretty much gone this morning but still worried. I'm hoping they would have found an ectopic by now if I had one. My beta numbers looked good too. It's just really hard since this is my first pregnancy. I don't know what's normal and not normal.

Hey ladies-

I am glad to see a couple of the march/april cyclers over here, and I hope to be joining you all soon. If I get a bfp, I think I will be due around Jan 10, but I will have a planned c-sec earlier than that since I had a c-sec with my last...and if I get twins, I would definitely be in december...so I might join you here...or we might have to make a dec/jan momma's to be!

Tara- I just wanted to tell you that with my first ivf, my first beta was a 44 and I had almost no symptoms, and everything was fine. I have a beautiful 7 month old little girl to show for it, so don't worry too much, you were probably a late implanter like I was. Good luck on your second beta.

Hi aims & michele,

Thanks for the encouraging words - especially, knowing that michele's first beta was 44 and she went on to have a healthy baby makes me feel very good.

I went for the blood test this morning. Waiting for the nurse to call me back with the results. I will update as soon as I get the information.

Thanks.

2nd beta

Post by Tara2009 »

Hello Ladies,

My nurse just called me with the 2nd beta results. Its 840!!! Wow from 40 to 840 is a huge jump!! She said its a great number for the 2nd beta. I am so relieved now. But I know the journey and the hurdles continue...

Its great to be in this forum with all you encouraging ladies.

Thanks,
Tara

Tara- I have been waiting for your post of good news.

Your numbers sound exactly like mine...here were mine...

Beta 1- 15dpo- 44
Beta 2- 17dpo- 120
Beta 3- 22dpo - 959

when I was 15dpo (beta 1) is was 44 almost the same as you at the same time, and then 7 days later I was 959 (you are 840). You were probably a late implanter like me, and you will probably find that your baby measures about 5-6 days behind where it should be according to a due date using your egg retrieval as a guide...I am guessing you wait for u/s now too? At my first u/s, I did not see a hb, again because I was a late implanter and a few days behind...so don;t freak out if that happens! I didn't see the hb until seven and a half weeks...and everything turned out just fine!

according to this calculator: http://babymed.com/tools/pregnancy/hcg/
you are right within normal range...go check it out and plug your numbers in.

ultrasound

Post by Tara2009 »

michele,

My first u/s is on April 15. The nurse told me that only the sacs can be seen in this u/s and we will not be able to hear the heart beat. You have also said the same thing. So now I know what to expect and what not to expect.

Thanks.

Congrats Tara! I didn't realize we had ER and ET the same days until I looked at your signature. I'm so jealous you get to have an u/s on the 15th! I have to wait until the 21st. I know they are having me wait so I hear the heartbeat, but I would really like to see something now. lol

aims - I would rather be in your situation because you get to see everything in one visit, where as I can only see the sacs on 4/15 and then I have to freak out for another weak fearing if I will see the heart beat or not!!

Anyways, hang in there! We will take it one at a time.

Thanks,

Tara - It probably would be better to see everything at once. I've just had occasional cramping and spotting, so I've been worried about ectopic. The nurses seem to think I'm fine though.

Ladies,

Do you think we will be able to get pictures of our ultrasounds? That will be a precious gift to keep forever. It will be so much fun to show it to our children when they are older and say this what you looked like!!!

Tara.
