Hello ladies,
I hope you have been enjoying your weekend.
My husband had a ball tournament all weekend
so I have been freezing my butt off outside :-s
I can't imagine loosing babies as late as you had to.
My first bets number was terrible so even though they
told me to remain hopeful I knew it was already over.
So even though I had an early miscarriage I never really
got to experience the actual excitement of being pregnant,
so I'm really looking forward to that day.
Try not to be nervous about the egg retrival because you want to
be as relaxed as you can.... The hardest thing for me was waiting
for the actual procedure I was so nervous but thankfully they gave me
some amazing drugs that took the edge off. I told them right from the
moment I arrived that I was nervous so they took amazing care of me.
I was awake during the retrival but so relaxed that I remember nothing bad :-)
I hope your nerves settle down soon. Seriously the hardest thing for me is the
stupid progesterone my pants don't even fit anymore ha ha.
Anyways enjoy the last of your weekend...

ugh, my bleeding from my D&C is really coming and going. Just when I think it's all over and the spotting has stopped, I started bleeding again in full force. No blood as of this morning, so hopefully I'm really done.

I'm afraid that I'll stop my birth control pills and NOT get a period, just because of all the hormone craziness now. Hopefully not. It's crazy how you really really really want your period... but then really really really really don't!
kynlee when you say you are new to this, you mean the FET part right? Did you get to transfer at all on your fresh cycle, or not because of hyper stim?

Hyperstim really scares me. I got 'close' my first time, according to my doctor. I'm on an antagonist cycle (supposedly common in PCO patients), so that if I get too close to hyperstimming, I can trigger with Lupron instead of hCg (which makes hyperstim worse).

I used to think, 'oh, I won't do any more fresh cycles', since from my first IVF I got pregnant with twins and had 4 frosties. Now I know better... not only did I lose my twins, but the 4 frosties didn't work. Oh well. Now I only have two frosties (we are transferring probably both this time), so another fresh is definitely in my future (hopefully only for siblings!)

leorira No I am new to the whole world of IVF, this is still the beginning for me... I was on Lupron and they noticed my numbers climbing up so they had a feeling I was going to get hyper stim which I had no clue what it was till after I got it... They may haven mentioned it to me but I was so new to everything that i didnt realize the delay it would be or the pain I would be in... It was so uncomfortable I gained close to 10 pounds with it, I lost the ten as I got better from it... So I never got a fresh transfer just 14 frosties 9 of which where in the top catergory ( still not sure how good that is for my chances but Im thinking postitive :) )I just started my new med and then I get my transfer... The Dr said if I do the cycle over again my chances are high for hyper stim so I am so hoping out of these14 I will have a baby... I probably would do all over again but its just scary knowing what can happen again ...

Good luck with your next transfer... :) Keep me posted :)

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is doing well and getting close
to fet!
Leorrira- I hope you have completely stopped bleeding
now. I have never had a d&c but I've heard they are not
pleasent.
Blairwh58- I hope your appointment goes well today and
that you get all the questions you have answered. Make
sure to let us know how it goes.
Kynlee- I can't believe you gained ten pounds when you
hyperstimmed.. That's crazy, you must have been so uncomfortable.
I can completely understand you being scared to try it again.
I almost had to be drained and that scared me enough. The Gatorade,
and salty food seemed to really help!
I just have to wait now. I have booked off Thursday
and Friday for the transfer and I'm looking forward to lazing around..
Do any of you know when they actually start to thaw out your embryos??
Hope everyone has a good day!!

Krys - congrats on a lining of 8! FET on Thursday - that's so exciting! Keep us udated (although I know it's hard for the 2ww... not much happens!)

I'm still spotting. Not very much (panty liner is clean - I only see a little brown blood from wiping). I'm hoping it's okay. I have an u/s next Tuesday, just to check that everything is okay after the D&C (which wasn't so unpleasant, since I was asleep the whole time! MIscarrying sucked, but the D&C itself was painless). Still taking my birth control pills....

Hopefully all will be well at this u/s and I'll take the birth control pills until I finish the pack (another week, ie 2 weeks from today). Then it's just a few days until I get a period (assuming my hormones are not crazy) and then a few weeks until FET! I'm so anxious to get pregnant again. I hate the clinic trips (I want so badly to just get pregnant at home, like everyone else does), but if that's the price to pay, I guess I have to.

I still can't believe I'm on transfer #5.... that's crazy!

Krys, that is so exciting that you go for your transfer, best of luck and keep us posted... :)

AS for the hyper stim, it was so uncomfortable, I had to keep going to the Dr office so they could monitor the fluid ect It was very nerve racking to say the least, but the gatorade did help... I was just not expecting all of that so it took me for a loop, but now that I know what happens I wouldnt be as nervous I guess... I just hope I get pregnant with one of my frosties so I don't have to retrieve again ;( but I will do what I have to do to have a baby.. :)

I heard it doesnt take long for the frosties to thaw... but I am to new to know for sure...

Leorira good luck with everything Tuesday... :)

I'm sitting at the clinic and the doctor is late!!
I can't believe they tell you yo arrive with a full bladder
and then expect you to wait past your actual appointment
time... I'm about to pee my pants and the nurse tells me to
pee a little..... Do they know how difficult that is?!? Anyways
hopefully it's almost time to go in as I am about to burst..
Thanks for letting me vent :)

the full bladder thing - I really don't get it!

For my first ET, they told me I needed a really full bladder. So I drank and drank and drank. My bladder was really full! Then they did the transfer without even using the u/s machine! and I was told to lie in bed for 30 min post-transfer. But I had to pee SOOOOOO bad. I had the nurse bring me a bed pan so I could pee without getting up!

The next ET, I said "eh, the full bladder isn't necessary". Of course, I got a different doctor, who tried to use the u/s machine and couldn't see anything because my bladder wasn't full enough. The next ET, I drank and drank and drank and got the same doctor as the first time... no u/s and 'resting' in bed afterward DYING to pee!
The most recent ET, I decided to moderate fill my bladder. I think that's my new approach! :)

AFM - I'm still bleeding. I guess it's technically spotting. I wear a panty liner, and most of the time there isn't any blood in it - I only see a little bit of blood when I wipe. It varies from brown to bright red. It's been almost 2 weeks since my D&C. I heard that you stop bleeding when your hCG gets down to zero.... I hope that happens soon.

I have an u/s on Monday (changed because of work schedule) to make sure things are healing properly. I'll ask then about the bleeding. I'm on birth control pills. I was told to start a pack the day of the D&C, take the full 3 weeks of pills and then stop them - get a period - start the FET. I hope that works out!

and of course, I found out that a co-worker of mine (who got married a few months ago) is expecting and due around the same time I would be due if I hadn't miscarried. Icing on the fucking cake....

Hi girls

I am not really sure if I belong here or on the fall boards but I figured I could chat with you wonderful ladies since fall cycle is so full and everyone seems way ahead of me in this.

Learira I am in a similar boat with you. I did my first IVF in June/July and got a bfp but ended up miscarrying at 7 weeks which was totally devastating. The day of our ET my baby sister who is 17 announced that she is pregnant and while I was shocked at first I was excited to be pregnant together with her- we were 2 weeks apart. but of course we lost our baby and now she is 17 weeks and everytime I am with her I am reminded of where we should be already. DH and I have been TTC since 2007 and nothing. I live in Bucks County Pennsylvania about 30 min north of Philadelphia. I have 1 son from a previous marriage but now that I am with the most wonderful man in the world who even adopted my son we cannot seem to get pregnant. We literally know 11 other couples who have become pregnant since we began trying and it is so painful and frustrating. Dh and I have both dreamed of having a big family and we have been so disappointed and heartbroken through this journey. Leorira I am so sorry for your loss I cannot imagine...you are such a strong woman. I hope this is the time for you and you are successful on this try. We all deserve it so much.
So anyways I had my loss in in the beginning of August and because I have an abdominal cerclage I could not have a d and c and so it too 4 weeks for my beta to reach 0. Now I finally reached my second AF since the loss (RE insisted I wait :( ) now we will be able to start Lupron on day 19 and with next AF we will do estrogen patches and FET. I cannot wait. I feel like time is just draaaaaggggiing!!! I go for my saline ultrasound in a week to get cleared to start but it feels like it has been forever since our loss and we just can't seem to get to the FET.

Krys good luck in your 2ww

Hey ladies....
Had my transfer Thursday, things went well except
for the bladder issue. Both of my embryos thawed
and survived, that's what I was most nervous about.
The doctor was very impressed with my one embryo
said it looked like it was from a fresh cycle, so that was
encouraging.

Leorrirall- hopefully that bleeding stops asap... That's the
thing with all these meds and procedures you never know when
anything is going to happen anymore. I totally know what you
mean about babies babies everywhere it's so hard.... I will never
understand why bad things like infertility happen to good people
like us.I'm the only one in my group of friends who doesn't have children
yet I go to all the baby showers and show my support but it's getting
harder and harder to wear a smile each time. You will have to let us
know how your appointment goes on Monday hopefully everything looks
great!

Kynlee- yes I agree the support from this forum is awesome. I look forward
to coming on here each day and seeing how everyone is doing.. How are things
going with you right now?? Are you hanging in there with all this
craziness?? Hope you're hanging in there...

Enjoy your weekend ladies!!

Annashope- welcome!!! I find the fall group crazy
busy too... I try to keep up but I can't. I only have
Internet on my iPhone and find it impossible with all
the personals.. I'm so sorry you lost your baby. I also
was pregnant in august but my beta bever got any higher
it's totally heart breaking. I was happy to know that I could
actually get pregnant as after my first ivf was the first
positive I have ever had. I can't imagine how hard it is watching
your little sister go through what you so badly want. Last week
a friend of my sister who is only 19 gave birth to
two beautiful baby girls and it makes me wonder why I can't just
have one for now. Hang in there, I believe good things are coming
for all of us on here.
keep us posted on how your ultrasound goes
