Alette, Good luck with your scan today. Do you think they will give you a date for EC today?

I was searching this topic.... and now you are here, Dolly!

Yes, the scan was okay, I think that Saturday is the day.
But I have to be for another scan tomorrow....

This part of the cycle is okay with me, I HATE it to wait how many eggs are fertilised (always scared) and then the waitingweeks.... but this waiting for how many eggs scares me to death!

Good for you Dolly, you are on a ultrashort sceme?

fingers crossed!!

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to start in the next couple of weeks. I'm due at st.mary's on Monday to collect an AF pill to start a bleed. I haven't had one since september.
It's my first IVF attempt and has taken a long, long wait! I'm nervous, but excited. It's nice to be able to join a cycle group after all this time!
good luck to everyone,
claire x

Hi Claire,

Welcome to the gang. Don't be nervous it really is a doddle and not as bad as you might think - the hardest part is the 2 week wait!

Once you get your AF do you have to wait till day 21 to start down regging or are you doing a short protocol?

Talk soon

Hi girls,
I'm doing the long protocol, starting to down reg on day 21.
I have to take the pill to start a period for five days and then it should arrive within five days after that. So that should be around 13/14th of december - meaning I'll start dwn regging on Jan 3/4th. (I've worked it all out!)
What a way to start the New Year though, let's hope 2005 is our year everyone!
Is there really nothing much to worry about? It's the drugs really and OHSS I worry about. I've got PCOS which means I'm more prone to it. Oh well, what will be will be I suppose.
thanks for making me welcome,
claire x

Hi there,

Alette, how exciting - 10 follicles is good - hopefully they will all contain eggs. When will you go in for you ET - do you have a 2 or 3 day transfer?

Claire, the down regging drugs make you feel a bit hormonal (and when I sniffed I did get a slight headache - but nothing major) and when I start stimming I get a funny feeling in my ovaries and I always get very emotional (tell everyone how much I love them!!). Hopefully you won't get OHSS - but make sure you drink lots of water when you start stimming - my clinic recommend 3 litres a day.

I start my stims tonight and the clinic told me I don't have to have the buserelin injection as well... yipppeee!

Hope you're all well

Hi Claire

You can either sniff or inject to down-reg. The first couple of times I sniffed but my 3rd cycle had to be cancelled because I didn't down reg - so they swapped me onto the injections. I actually prefer the injections (never thought I would say that!) I don't get headaches.

I take it you'll be injecting?

Hi Dolly,

To be honest I've no idea how I'll down reg, they haven't told me yet. I just presumed it was through an injection. I think I'd prefer to inject really, I don't fancy sniffing.
Are the injections done with a proper hyperdermic needle, or are they done using diabetic style 'pens' ?
Sorry for so many questions!
Thanks again
