Morning Sandra

How are you today?

I am not 100% sure when it comes up as sticky? picking my brains to think why. I think maybe the site is being closely watched and not sure what it means.

Well I ended up going food shopping and then when I got to my car I was so annoyed my tyre was flat. The snow was coming down so heavy, I phoned the AA who come out and changed my tyre and now I have had to have a new one on which cost £70 so not very pleased. It couldn't be repaired there was a screw coming out of it so I was not a happy person but what can you do. Luckily my Mom & Dad had Alex which is good else he would of been crying with how cold it is.

Abbreviations Explanations

Post by randa2006 »

Thanks everyone! Very helpful!

Update: We got a nice surprise yesterday when we had our egg retrieval. They told us I had 12 stimulated folicals (6 on each side) instead of 8 AND the ending result was 9 eggs retrieved!!!
At 43, I'm not kidding myself though. It all comes down to the quality of the eggs, so we're not home free by a long shot. Guess we'll hear back soon on that.
Hope everyone is having a good Sunday!

God Bless,
Randa

Randa, 9 sounds great, well done.

When will you know how many have fertilised? Also, how quickly can you cycle/harvest again? are you stopping after 2 fresh cycles?

Sorry for all the questions!

DebraP,
We should know by day 3, which is tomorrow.
Not sure if we are stopping at 2. Depends on how many we get.
If none are viable, then we have no reason to believe even going a second round would be any different. We would probably stop and look at donor eggs.
If all 9 are good, then we will still do a second because (my hubby's too much of a mathemetician/scientist type) we want to maximize our chances for 2-3 children. (men)
But our hopes are to transfer on the second and then use the frozens down the road.
My doc is recommending staying off meds for one month before doing the second. I'm in Seattle by the way - great docs/lab @ SRM.
Hope that answers your questions.

thanks Randa.

I feel foolish for not having thought to do the same ie. harvesting. We were first time lucky and I gave birth at 39. I regret now that we didn't freeze last summer's eggs and try for another fresh cycle vs. doing what we did, which was end up with nothing. I'm 41 next month and am painfully aware of how much time has passed since we began. My clinic are very optimistic (I've had 2 +ve results from the 4 attempts we've made) but I've never had more than 10 eggs at EC.

I love your positive attitude, I'm keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow.

Sorry about all the confusion. I made the topic 'sticky' because it seemed useful to new members.
