hi everyone, seems like the ball is rolling for us all.you are defintley getting there becky.HOT FLUSHES tell me about it,i suffer a bit from them anyway, but at the mo they are getting worse.Ive got my baseline on tuesday so hoping all is clear ill start the menapure,im hoping i dont get the headaches again. They put me on menagon last time and the headaches were horrific i felt so sick with them,im on menapure this time so fingers crossed. Is it just me,i know i shouldnt but im getting scared (not nervous)about the 2ww.I miscarried last time and im so worried this time,i really dont think i could go through that again.I know i should keep posotive, but i do find the 2ww so dreadful as on the test day you know one way or another and if its the other i really dont know what to do.Do it again! There ive just answered myself.Sorry for sounding down at the mo,its one of them days. Also im peed off as one of my closest friends hasnt phoned for a while, she does this everytime we start our treatment.I think she doesnt know what to say.Strange how other people find the situation so taboo.Never mind dh is being fantastic as usaul and you all cheer me up.Going for a curry 2nite and xmas shopping 2morow,thought it best so i can relax after e/c and e/t.
take care all
GOOD LUCK TO US ALL
love sammyxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Girls
Happy that we all seem to be doing pretty well. Today I'm on day 4 of Puregon dose of 150 - must say the only side effect I seem to have is not sleeping too well and getting really hot at night and I'm full of energy during the day. I'm not very good at relaxing and always seem to be doing something or other.
I saw my mum yesterday and she said that she is worried that I am far too busy and that I am pinning too much hope that this will work and come crashing down if it fails. My head tells me that the odds are against me falling pg first time round with IVF - but my heart is just so positive. I must say she is right I'll be absolutely gutted it if fails. Anyway I think it is better to be positive and deal with the negative if it happens. I'm just dying to get to e/c...hopefully on the 18th or 19th.
A few of you seem to mention that you are drinking lots whilst injecting, my hospital never mentioned a thing about that so I called them and they said that I only need to drink loads during the 2ww....I guess you were given different advice...but I think I should drink more anyway if you all are!
They say that one of the main side effects of Puregon is feeling/looking bloated - I know I'm only on day 4 but so far nothing - if this happened to you when did it happen?
Sending you all loads of love and lovely positive thoughts.
Going to start talking to my follicles now!
Love
Michelle xxx

hi all,
Welcome mandy!!!! you are more than welcome to join us...the more the merrier..lol.
hey, michelle..how you doing hun? hope you is ok. at the moment im taking 20ml of buserelin and 50 ml of puregon. that's lower than what you are taking, isn't it? i go back tomorrow for a scan, so i will just have to wait and see what they have to say. I'm not having ec or et because im having IUI, so i'm hoping that they are going to give me a date for doing that. Fingers crossed.
i'm not having the hot flushes as bad as i was, thank god, but im still suffering from insomnia, big time. to be honest, it's really doing me head in now..be glad when i can just have a night's sleep..lol.
Can i ask a personal question girls??? are any of you still having sex whilst doing all this? the clinic said that we could carry on as normal, but my hormones are rampant at the mo, and i just cant seem to get enough!!!! poor hubby is knackered....heehee.
anyways, i'll get off now...keep your fingers crossed for me for tomorrow, and i'll let you all know how i get on. Take care all, and keep talking to those follies!!!!
loadsa love,
heather xxx

hiya all,
Just thought i'd let you know how i got on yesterday when i went for my scan. The good news is that my follies are growing nicely, but the bad news is that there are five of them, we only actually want 3 of them, so i'm hoping that two of them aren't going to grow anymore, if they do i'll have to have them drained. The nurse said they are good sizes, 11mm and 4 10mm, and they have lowered my puregon to 37iu instead of 50iu. I go back tomorrow for another scan, with a view to having the actual IUI on friday or monday, depending on how things are going.
It feel's so weird that things are moving along for us now, as ive said before, i never ever thought i'd get this far, and i keep thinking im in a dream or something. Hubbs is delighted with our progess, only thing is, he's started smothering me a tad..lol...we went to tesco's yeaterday, and i went to pick up a crate of larger for christmas, and pat nearly had a fit!!! he's there 'dont even dare pick that up in your condition' i was mortified..in my condition indeed!!! he's just worried that im going to damage my follies..lol.
Had to laugh yesterday, as the nurse told me i should stop talking to them now...how the hell did she know??? lol. Oh well, better get off, am going to do some christmas shopping.
Take care all, hope things are going well for everybody.
loadsa love,
Heather xxx

hiya ladies,
well i went for my second scan this afternoon, and good news!!!!! one of my follies hasn't grown, but all the others have. i have one that is 16mm and the others are 14mm. Talked to the doc about draining the 4th one cos she only wanted me to have 3 follies, but she has said that she's not going to bother and she's gonna let me keep all four!!! only problem is that she has warned me that if the IUI works, then there is a chance that we will have triplets or quads!!!!!! i have my injections as normal tonight, and i then take it in the morning as well, and i take the pregnyl injection at 2pm tomorrow afternoon, with the IUI scheduled for 2.15pm on friday!!!! i cant wait..im soooooooooooooo excityed!!!! this means that i should be testing around the 29th of this month, if we get that far!!!!!!
Fantastic news, becky...you must be flying hun. so pleased for ya. Hows everyone else? all doing ok i hope. anyways, must be off, take care all,
loadsa love,
Heather xxx

Blimey, 32 - that's enough to make anyone feel inadequate! I've had my only 3 reasonable embies put back in this morning (3 days after e/c), a 4 cell, 5 cell, and 6 cell. This is exactly the same as I had put back last time when I had a biochemical pg, although the embryologist said the 6 cell was much better than last time (and explained why with lots of scientific stuff that I didn't really understand!)

Have now been prescribed more different drugs than I've taken at any stage, including one that needs to be injected morning and evening and one in the bum every evening! Dh went to get them while I rested at the clinic and had to wait half an hour at the chemist, so we were 2 minutes late back to the car and got a parking ticket! I s'pose £40's neither here nor there with the amount we've been spending, but it was a bit irritating - still I'm hoping that'll be our bad luck for the day and everything else will go smoothly!

I'm now preparing for 4 days of complete coccooning - dh's gone to the supermarket to buy life's essentials including magazines and jaffa cakes!

Good luck to all the waiters!

Love

Alison x

Hi all,

25 of the 32 eggs fertilised. Some were immature, 1 had died and one was broken.

Good news is that no it didn't hurt when I had the egg collection as I was out for the count! Hubby took great delight in telling me that I had snored!

Having 32 eggs made my consultant worry about OHSS, of which I am exhibiting some signs. Typical! However it apparently does not affect pregnancy but I have had to promise that at the first sign I will tell them so that they can admit me.

I had two eggs put back as my clinic will only do 2 maximum. They were four cell eggs so I have everything possible crossed, as does all the family which is good. Only problem I have experienced is period type cramps, some of which have been awful. I did however look at the period-cramp topic and was reassured to see that it can be a good sign.

Thanks for the welcome and good luck to you Alison and Michelle. No doubt we will keep each other posted!

(Sorry for the essay!)

Nicola
