clomid

Post by Dee »

Thanks for the congrats all.

Michelle - Definitely worth trying naturally as you have nothing to lose and for some reason it's not uncommon to suddenly be able to conceive after a pg. We actuyally got the clomid from Guys, the assisted conception unit that we used for our IVF. However you could probably get it prescribed by the Dr. One advantage of going to Guys was that they scanned me for the 1st mth to check when I ovulated and also to make sure that I was getting the right dose of clomid (to produce 2 eggs). Plenty of people use clomid and don't get scanned though. GOOD LUCK!!

I am currently approaching 13 wks and all is still well thank goodness. Had a 12 wk scan and everything looked good. They re-dated it to 25 Dec, so DH now telling people that we are carrying the son of God!

Good luck to you all (and still keeping everything crossed for you Wendy).

Love

Hi

Hope you all had lovely summers with your babies.

We've been trying to fall pg again naturally for the past few months and no 'blue line' so I went back to our hospital last week to discuss next steps in getting Jake a little bro or sis. Surpisingly they suggested that we try Clomid for 3 months, before embarking on FET. I'm only suprised as they didn't suggest this the first time round as we went straight to IVF - but the dr. said you never know and it is worth a try as we fall into the unexplained category. I must say I was delighted to hear this as all it involves is taking a few tablets at the start of each period. Anyway we're starting off on 50mg next cycle, which is the lowest dose and the clinic are going to do follicle tracking. Hopefully Clomid will do the trick, though deep down I suspect we'll have to use our frozen embies. Of course I'll keep you posted.

If any of you have any tips, advice, inspiration re. Clomid would love to hear.

Love to all.

Our darling son Jake was born in October 2004 on our 3rd IVF attempt. I have PCOS. We're now trying again naturally, before embarking on our next FET IVF possibly late 2005... so watch this space!!!
