Hi ladies, thanks for your messages.

Had a 3rd and final scan today to see if I had responded to stim meds being upped...but no luck. Absolutely nothing happened! I had been stimming for 12 days , the last 5 on increased dose but no luck. :(

We have abanoned the cycle...again. This is the 4th abandoned cycle. We still haven't been able to get to EC stage. Very frustrating.
1st AF came after 13 days abandoned then a 6 week wait to get to day 21 again
2nd Sniffing to down reg didn't work, abandoned
3rd Prosap jab down reg worked but developed a cyst, abandoned
4th Prostap jab worked, developed a cyst, cyst got drained, then stims didn't work, abandoned
I know they say take one step at a time but this is getting ridiculous!!

Dizzie, how did you get on? Crossed fingers for better news :)

We have been advised to go for a short cycle after xmas. Anyone been through similar? Any thoughts or advise?

Thanks, it ain't over til it's over !

Anna,

I presume you're paying for private treatment, since you've posted on the over-40s board - in which case, I know I've mentioned it before, but it might be worth you shopping around, or at least studying QM's results tables to make sure they know what they're doing.

What I did when I was wondering (and like you, waiting for an overview with the doc) was email a load of the top clinics with a brief history and a cry for help and see what response I got.

Just a thought - sorry if it's off-target,

Lara

POOR RESPONSE TO STIMMING

Post by Dizzie »

NickiMark, I am sorry to hear you latest news and you are in my thoughts.

Anna, you are also in my thoughts and I'm gutted that you didn't get good news today. I have 5 follicles today, 3 are 14mm, but I know we're not out of the woods yet. I was so hoping that we both got good news today and I can only imagine how you're feeling. I was gutted on Wednesday and Friday when I was told that I wasn't stimming well. I am thinking of you and I sincerley hope you have a successful cycle in the New Year.

Take care and good luck.

Hi ladies, thanks for your messages
Still feeling rotten, but I suppose it goes with the territory. My main worry now is my reaction to the prostap to down reg. The first time I had it ,it took 66 days for AF to arrive! The second time I was given tablets(can't remember what) to bring AF on. It still took 57 days.

Do you think the stimming drugs will make any difference? Will AF come at the appointed time? Watch this space :) :)

Waiting for AF is desparate as you all know. Then if I take the tablets again my system is full of drugs and probably won't know which way is up. But I can't wait another 66 days I would be climbing the walls.!!!

Help anyone

Bye for now

Anna
mine took 6 weeks which is less than 66 days...This is a good time to get some acu. as it does help to re balance the body. I had kinesiology which helped too.

Good luck and we will all do a AF jig for you...

Hi ladies,

I am becoming addicted to this site. Anna, I really just popped in to see how you were today. Do you know, I can't remember a time when I haven't been thinking about IVF(last 3.5 years) and all the possible outcomes, scenarios and quite honestly, now it's doing my head in!!!! I want the next few days to be over because I still don't know if we're going to manage to collect any eggs. I'm not having a moan because we're one step further than I thought we would be, but all my friends seem to switch off now when I want a chat about 'babies or treatment' and I know that you lot are always here and full of love and support.

I also wanted to tell Anna that I have been going for acupuncture as well and it TOTALLY chills you out and is very addictive. They can't tell you how it works but it does re-balance everything so got to be worth a try?!
Take care everyone and still thinking about all the girls who have had bad news lately.

I know what you mean about being addicted to the site. I do tend to spend a lot of time here. But it really does help both in terms of support and information.

I will be organising a trip to the acupuncturist although it seems a bit scary. Have you tried reflexology 'cos I love that and always feel better after a session.

Bye for now

Thanks for the positive vibes Anna, that means so much to me. Got another scan on Thursday, but we've had one setback after another since starting this and I am trying to take it one day at a time. If all to plan then, EC will be Saturday or Monday. They are so vague and it annoys me sometimes.

Acu is fantastic!! Not scary or sore at all. There's one thing about all this, we're all very familiar with needles!!!! I have one tube which is blocked, so all she can do for me is help me relax and cope with the hormones and the jabs. I don't have any problems with my periods either, but friends of mine who have had problems, even endometriosis, all swear that it's helped. I haven't tried reflexology, but I would definatley give it a go. Six people at my clinic in the past couple of weeks all had acu but unfortunatley none of them got +ive result. This whole thing sucks!!!

Have you thought any more about trying a new clinic, or certainly asking for more detailed explanation of what's been going on from your current one? Maybe a second opinion from another clinic would be beneficial? Maybe different protocol and/or different drugs is all you need.

Take care and go with your gut instinct.

Hi girls,

Just wanted to let you know that we should have EC on Monday. Anna, I'm still thinking of you and I wish you were going too. As Jeni said, you're a star (sorry, I don't know how to do the fancy dancing pictures). I know you've got the strength and the determination already for another go and next time round it will work and we'll all still be hooked to this site and reading about it and cheering you on.

Take care and enjoy getting stuck into wine, coffee, chocolate, SEX (I'm missing it already).
