Hiya girls,

Done some more research and apparentley hcg levels can increase but not double if you have a 'vanishing twin' (when one embie disappears). It takes a few days for hcg levels to steady and rise properly. Still none the wiser as to why sac small for dates. Can't really find anything much on the net. Go back on Tuesday for another scan and this time they're hoping to see a heartbeat. If not h/beat then think that will be it over, especially when I should be 8 weeks and 2 days today.

Never mind, God and nature works in mysterious ways. God, I'm dying for a bloody vodka a coke, a large one at that would go down a treat right now!!

Take care ladies, speak soon. :D

Hiya ladies,

Latest news is one definate sac with 'blob' inside and get another scan on Tuesday and hopefully they'll see a heartbeat. Still don't know why or how this is happening, but I did find out that hcg levels that increase, but don't double is common when you have a 'vanishing twin'. They sort themselves out in a few days apparantly.

Well, no more news till Tuesday, but I will post then.

Hope you all have a nice weekend and take care.

:D

Hiya girls,

Thank you so much for all your messages and concern. Sorry I haven't posted my news, but I'm absolutley gutted. Had second scan on Tuesday and the sac hasn't grown much since last week, so they've told me that that's it.

Don't really know what to say or do now. I've got to wait another two weeks and get another scan to see what's there to make sure it's absorbing or if I've to get D & C.

Is there anyway it can catch up now? Don't suppose so, but until I start bleeding it doesn't seem right that I give up on it. They didn't take more blood as they think that's the end.

Will keep an eye on how everyone else is getting on, but going to take time out from baby stuff for a while.

Jen, hope you get your funding tomorrow and everyone else good luck with pregnancies, treatment and hoping waiting flys by.

Take care.
Dizzie x
