Good luck girls! Our twins are almost 7 weeks old!

Our first round of IVF worked (stressful as you all know!) and i had a pretty uneventful pregnancy until about week 28. Get ready - that's when the real fun starts! You are near the end....you are big with babies....they move around like crazy and you know that the beginning of a wonderful journey is really about to begin.

Hey everyone! Well, I found out the sex of my twins today. I had a feeling (or maybe I was hoping) for a girl & a boy (since they were in separate sacs). Well, I'm having 2 boys!! Actually, as I'm sure each of you can agree, I don't care what the sex is, I'm just blessed to be pregnant with one baby, let alone two babies. It's still amazing when I realize I'm going to have two babies. So now the fun of buying boy stuff starts!!

Congrats, Kristi! That's fabulous news. That's exactly the way I felt when I found out we were having two girls.

Vita, I wrote the hcg # down in my journal, but I don't have it with me right now. If I remember correctly if was around 900 at 16 days after a 5 day transfer. My clinic never tested me again after that. Maybe because it was so high...? So I never got to see how it doubled. I just had to wonder for 2 weeks before my first scan if the high # meant one, two or three babies.

I've got the flu!

Post by kathya »

Its been such crazy weather here lately, and now I'm sick as a dog! My doctor said I can take tylenol cold, and of course rest, drink fluids, etc! This is my 12th week, and I'm thrilled to be getting over the hump. Friday I go in for a blood sugar test??
When can you find out the sex? I'm so anxious to see what they are. My little 4 year old says they're boys! If so, I'll need to get a female cat to off-set all the testosterone in the house!
My OB said that since I'm doing a C-section, anytime after the 36 week they can come out. So it will be around Christmas.
Take care of yourselves ladies, and avoid people with colds, I feel miserable.

Kathya, I'm with you! I have a miserable cold too! I went to my doctor this AM. I'm taking Tylenol cold medicine also. I can't wait to feel better though.

Generally you find out the sex around weeks 18-20. Usually the norm seems to be the "big 20 week scan". That's when I had mine last week & found out they are both boys. Sometimes they can tell the sex as early as 16 weeks though.

I made my first major purchase yesterday. A double stroller! The kind where both car seats/infant carriers snap into it. I got it at a big discount, so I couldn't pass it up. Seems weird to buy a stroller this early, but it was fun!

Hope you are all doing well.

Hi Ladies,

It is great to see that this thread is being used and enjoyed by so many of you. However I have to leave the thread I started. I hate to put a dampner on the general happiness of this thread and certainly hope that you will all carry on to feel so incredibly blessed as you have all beaten the odds and not only are having one baby but two. Amazing.

So why I am leaving the thread. We went for out 12 weeks scan on Tuesday this week, only to find that I have lost one of my twins. They think that he/she died at around 9-10 wks. We are devistated. The good news is that the second baby is doing just fine and growing well, infact is showing at about 13+ weeks not the 12wks that I am, so it is a good size and is pretty strong.

I am so scared of loosing the remaining baby, but I know I have to stay positive and healthy for the sake of the very presious baby that is left. One of my friends said that maybe the reason I got pregnant with twins is so that I could have the one healthy baby, does that make sense. Maybe if there had only been one, I would have no baby.

Anyway I wanted to wish all of you all the love and happiness and healthy babies that I know you all deserve. Stay healthy and enjoy every moment.

Take care

Love Daniella and Andrew

I am so sorry to hear your news. I don't really know what to say, as nothing will help but please take time to grieve but also remain strong for your baby. You will be fine and have a perfect bubs very soon.
I have read that pregnancies often start out as twins but quite often one is lost before the 12 week scan, leaving mums unaware they were ever carrying twins. It's only the knowledge all of us know early, due to our circumstances. I know this is no consolation.
Don't dissapear on us, stay in touch, I know we all would still love to hear how you are doing.

Thinking of you hun

Guys, I'm getting to the point of being quite uncomfortable. Is it wrong to want these babies to come at least a little early? The nausea I had so bad in the beginning is rearing its ugly head again.
