Wowwowow...!!!! Congratulations. Your twins are a very nice size - you grow them well! I'm so happy for you - the first of the 3rd trimesters - I'm so excited to see the pics. As someone said - makes it seem real for all of us - not just a dream. Enjoy your babes - they sound just perfect :)

Thanks to everyone for the great messages! I came home from the hospital late Tuesday night. And I get to bring the babies home today! They only needed 5 days in NICU. So I'm resting for the "last day of my life" as the nurse at the hospital told me. :)

I'm having a tough time recoverying from the c-section. I have a pain in one place in my abdomen making it difficult to walk to stand. Might take another trip to doc about that.

Brady is breastfeeding perfectly and Tyler is doing "ok" breastfeeding (better every time). So they said that was good for 34 weeks.

I put clothes on them yesterday for the first time and they were so big on them, it was funny. I need a trip to the store to get some preemie size things!

Well, I could go on forever, but I won't. It's so amazing to see them everyday. It's also amazing how my natural maternal instincts just kick in too. Like breastfeeding, waking up every 3 hours to pump in the night, knowing how to hold them, change their diapers, etc. Normally I'd be afraid to hold a baby that small...but I just take over like a MOM! Wow, I'm a mom!

Will post pics probably tomorrow.

Love to all....

Ok, I guess I spoke too soon. The babies didn't come home with me tonight. Guess why? Remember I said I was having pain in my abdomen (thinking it was from the c-section)? Well, seems now that I'm having an appendicitis attack (and was having one Friday which caused the pre-term labor)!! They are finishing the tests in the AM and I might have surgery tomorrow to remove it. So I'd have 2 surgeries within a week to recover from, while I have 2 babies waiting to come home!

Meanwhile I miss the babies so much and worry that they will forget my voice, or forget how to breastfeed, or get used to the bottle, etc. The NICU doctors said that doesn't happen and they will be fine without me for a few days if it comes to that. But my postpartum hormones are having a hard time believing that!

I'll give you another update in a day or two...depending on how it all goes.

Hi Kirsti

I'm so glad the boys are doing well but really sorry to hear about your troubles. I don't really know what to say but wishing you a speedy recovery.

There's no way your boys will forget your voice, they've been listening to you for months and months now, they aren't going to forget you that easily! If you are worried maybe DH can record a message from you and play it to them??

My friend was desperate to breast feed but unfortunately she was rushed into theatre after the birth and was "out of it" for two days. They cup fed Joel until she was up to feeding him. She then went on to feed him for months and months without any problems.

Kirsti your little boys are going to be your strength to recover from this. You have probably been through a lot worse before! I will be thinking of you and praying for all of you to be home together soon.

Take care

Big hugs

Jo

Kristi - So sorry that you are having added complications, hoping all is sorted quickly and you are with your boys very soon. Like jo has said there is definately no way your boys will forget you, just a couple more days and you will be back together.
