Thanks ladies, my tennis ball sized ovary is shrinking!! YAHOO!!! Well, enough to hike to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite! I live in CA so we took a weekend trip up there. Anyway, the surgery to remove my polyps has been moved up to the 10th due to my asking. 3 days seems like forever when you are waiting on a biopsy results. So next weekend will be a waste but I plan to head back to work on Monday. Then back on track sticking needles into my stomach YAHOO!!

ajdec- sorry to hear your dealing with illness and side effects- but the good news about that is that the side effects show that your body is effected by the meds..i've never experienced that! my first cycle (which was cancelled), after 4 days of meds, my bloodwork showed up like someone who had never taken any meds!

jdc- it's nice to see you back in a thread.. i was so sad for you after your m/c.. maybe we'll get pg together this time!

chris- nevermind that elliptical..you'll get on it when you're ready to. and gina, if you stim this month we'll likely be very in sync. i estimate that i'll start flare stims oct 20...

JDC- i added a bit about your estimated time... and after my m'c it took over 8 weeks for me to get AF..it was very frustrating, but now i'm glad cause that gave me time to do more obsessive research and i discovered DHEA then, which for me, i believe was a great unfolding of circumstances.

Hi ladies,
I start taking BCP tomorrow. I stop taking them on Oct 27th. I go to RE on Oct. 31st for first stim meds. I will be taking those for about ten days. ER is set for around Nov. 11. I am going to be taking so many different meds I can't keep up with them. Antibiotics. follistim, i think one is a steroid, pregesterone with olive oil, what ever that is. and many more. Anyone else out there taking these? I will be doing 450 follistim a day for ten days. I feel like all I do is eat, sleep, and breathe IVF stuff and infertility stuff. I am new to all of this and I am so stressed. I feel for the ladies that have been going through this for years. I have been ttc for just a year. Even though it is so frustratiing, I feel for you ladies that have been eathing, sleeping and breathing this for a long time. My heart goes out to you. I pray this will be your year. I hope your dreams will come true. You are in my prayers.

ajdec - Looks like you are progressing nicely. If your RE told you not to order meds I bet ya you will be triggering after your next appointment. YEAH!!! You will be our first BFP. Sorry you are having problems with your vertigo. I usually go to the lake every Memorial day for a week. Everytime for a couple of weeks after I will have issues with my vertigo. I guess it is always because I am sitting on the swim dock and feeling the waves. But last time I went for labor day weekend, I was just on the beach watching the waves and it screwed me up. Don't know why. Hope you are feeling better and yes that really does suck having to deal with that and IVF.

babyhope1 - Congrats on your shrinking ovary. Have fun at Yosemite. My DH really wants to go there but California is kind of far away for us. He has never been on a plane so until he does, I don't think we will ever make it there. Good luck on your surgery.

Karen - Glad to see you are in a chipper mood today. I have moods like that sometimes, I think that is when all the guys at work believe I have gone nuts. Thanks for updating the chart. To add color just highlight whateve you want ot add color to and at the top of the message box there there is a drop down box that has font colour, just choose whatever color you want.

Mrscutter - I won't be too far behind you. I should start taking BCP's on Wednesday. You are on a faster protocol so that is why you will have ER and ET a week before I do. I was on the same protocol you were on last time, it is supposed to be really good for poor responders. Don't worry about all the drugs, you will figure it out in no time. Also, if you have issues on mixing the menopure you can go on YouTube and they have videos on women mixing menopure and giving the shots. I used this last time. You will be on a lot of drugs. If you are doing pretty much of what I was doing last time this kind of should be how it will go. While stimming I took Follistim and Menopure shot, plus took prenatal vitamin and antibotic. After about 6 days of stimming I then had to add in the ganirelix, the ganirelix keeps you from ovulating. So then I had 3 shots a day , they are all sub-q so no big deal. Once I got to ER I was then taking vitamin, antibotic, steroid and baby aspirin. After ET done with steriod and antibotic. Still on vitamin and baby aspirin and also added in PIO shot. Yes, you will be very sick of taking drugs but it will all be worth it with the end result. Hope this helps.


Hope everyone has a good weekend. I have to go clean my house since hubby deceided to invite people over. My house is a mess and of course he is working so I have to clean before going to a 1 year old b-day party. My friends wife had her IUI on Thursday so hopefully that will work for them. I just am getting my mind set that I will eventually have to deal with her being PG so I might as well get used to it. So of all of you that did IUI, were you ever in pain afterwards? My friends wife was. I never had an issue and want to chalk it up to that she is a baby and likes to get attention but if I hear other stories I might be a little more sympathetic. Yes I guess I am a little mean.

Hey ladies,

Not much to report on my end right now. AF came this morning so i'm pleased as i was worried that following my BFN things might of got screwed up, but here it is right on schedule!!! (i have always been on time) so only one month till i start the bcp's again, and unitl that i will keep on with the DHEA....

To Have Fun Apart from my weight gain i havent noticed any side effects from DHEA thank goodness, so i seem to be tolerating it well. I am only taking 50g a day instead of the 75g, though as over the last few weeks i have seen a lot of negative information about it, but didnt want to stop as i've also heard some amazing results from it, so i guess i'm hedging my bets with the 50g... WHo knows whether this is the right thing to do or not???? I'm just going off my gut feeling. YOu should be starting the bcp's next week then as our cycles seem to be synced from last time!!!!

JDC Sorry thatyou have to be back here for another cycle. As you know i was so happy for you when you got your BFP last time, but your last cycle did work, so knowing this i hope will give you a great PMA - we will all be rooting for you

Kas - Yep AF is peaking her sweet little head in already. I always spot for a few day before actually starting. I was also afraid I would be screwed up since the BFN last month. A delay would not be good because then I would probably ER and ET the week of Thanksgiving. DH works in a manager in for a grocery store so it would be really hard for him to get off that week. I know he would do it but that just adds more stress. This was part of my delima last month if I should of started BCP's last month or this month and cycling in Oct or Nov. Nothing seems to be easy. So I picked up my BCP's yesterday and should start on Wednesday. YEAH!!!! Here comes another hormonal roller coaster.


Gosh can you all tell I really don't want to be cleaning my house. I cleaned for about 1 hour and here I am again surfing the net. I guess I better get my butt in gear.

hello forum-junkies that's pretty funny..that's how i felt last night with my 3 posts in a row... ha ha.

i'm very tired this am, couldn't sleep well last night- too amped up on coffee. it's rainy here today and something about that gives me permission to get absolutely nothing accomplished.

kas sorry to hear about your dhea concerns and weight gain. i freaked out earlier taking it, wondering if i was harming myself. after the initial 10days, i've experienced no side effects and am currently experiencing some of the positive effects other woman cite- increased energy, & libido ..some people call it a 'fountain of youth', and i've felt that this week. i guess my cycle will tell. part of me is still scared it may be harming me. but i spoke to the toronto fertility clinic's RE and he's been using it for 2 years with 60 BFP's out of it, and currently has over 200 women on it, and is presenting research supporting it this november at some large fertility conference in the USA....so after talking to him, i was finally in at 75mg daily. my RE and OBGYN do not approve. - it's so hard to make decisions when we feel like we're running out of time and i don't want to be a victim of 'red tape' and meds that need 'further substantiation', but you need to make a decision that helps you sleep at night too.

hi ladies, i was shifting some names around so we could all see who we are close to in terms of stimming dates/ER dates, but i realized i don't understand or know who's doing bcp's first, so if someone says 'i start a cycle in nov' -does this account for 'stimming starts' or 'bcp's start'- can people clarify when they start stims/injections?

Karenvancouver Thanks for taking the time to update the board like this.. Also i think i will up my dosage of the DHEA after what you wrote. My RE actually encouraged the DHEA and said he has been recommending it for a while and has a 41 yr old with triplets after taking it, but i had been scared off by other reports from people so i was trying to find a happy medium, but i have decided to go at it full force now.... Have you had any weight gain at all? Its unlike me as i am naturally quite small but i just look 'bloated' recently - i dont know about 'fountain of youth' i look like i ate the fountain.......

Anyway in answer to your question i will start taking bcps 3 days into next AF so that should be around 3rd November. I should therefore start my micro lupron protocol shots around 1st December, with retrieval and transfer mid Dec. I guess that makes me 'waiting to start a cycle - bcp's November' I hope that helps.....
