carolyn- I am glad to hear your crazy work week is over, hopefully you won;t have too many more of those. Sorry to hear about your dh's extra expense trip too, we all know the last thing we need during ivf is added expenses.

lee- March 5 is coming up fast...you must be getting excited.

As for me- Clinic called yesterday. It was the lab tech who wanted to talk to me about cycling in march since TESE doc will be out of the country. I felt bad for her, because I was already very aware of that and all I could say to her is I am waiting on the polyp removal which no one has called me about. She has nothing to do with that. Also I have been asking about bcp's forever now. When I found out I needed the polyp removed I ask if I should stop bcp's. They said to wait until we get a surgery date, I don;t know why, maybe he would coordinate my period with the surgery? So anyway, I am about to finish my second pack of bcp's and I am kinda nervous about going a 3rd month without a period. My periods are very heavy on a normal basis, so skip a month and add a polyp it will be very very bad I am sure. So I aske dthe tech to have someone call about this again, and they finally told me to stop taking them, but still no word on surgery yet. I am starting to get a little aggravated. Yesterday would have been my start date for stims and instead even time I open my fridge I have all these meds staring at me. And all I can do is sit here and wait for a phone call about surgery. I was hoping for this upcoming week, but my guess is no if they haven't called yet.

ugh- sorry for venting....

ok- I gotta go get ready, I think I am taking ella to the children's museum today, I love that place and last time I took her, she seemed to like it, it is really neat, based on howard gardners theory of multiple intelligences, so they have a room geared toward each intelligence and then they also have a good night moon room that looks just like the book! Talk to you all soon.

CT-Michelle - Thank you for updating the list! I have definitely been remiss... I just wanted to pop in and say I'm sorry for all of the frustrating delays and mis-communications you are having with your clinic. Every day until beta is torture and all of this just pushes it farther out for you. I am sorry you are going through this!

Hi ladies, just reporting in. No Monday blues for me - I lost my job last July thanks to the credit crunch and haven't been able to find another one, which has been really frustrating but on the plus side means I'm lucky enough to be able to have the time to really focus on this process.

I went to the clinic this morning to collect my down regulation drugs - I don't start taking them for another 10 days and even then I will be on them for almost a month before the clinic has me in for my baseline assessment, but still it is starting to feel more real now!

DH and I had a nice weekend - it was his 40th birthday on Saturday so we were out celebrating. We are both going to stop drinking from here on in though - we have cut down a lot over the last few years whilst TTC but still have a couple of drinks on Friday and Saturday nights. What have you guys all decided to do about alcohol in the run up to IVF - none at all/a glass of wine occasionally? I would love to be able to give it up completely but it is my one vice - going to try and be good though.

Hi Carolyn. I'm lucky because my down regulation drug is a nasal spray so I don't start injecting until the stims stage. Thank goodness, because I'm rubbish with needles so two weeks of it during stims is going to be quite long enough!

Yes, I have kept myself busy since I lost my job, but unfortunately not with anything which earns me any money. :( I'm doing all the usual housewife things so DH doesn't have to, going on lots of long walks with our two dogs and I play golf as well when I can find someone to play with. I also meet up with friends who are at home looking after babies/children which is lovely but also hard. Crossing my fingers that I will soon be one of them...

March/April cycle buddies??

Hi everyone:

Glad to read from all of you. Hazel I think were going to be starting by the same time.

Today I send over for my meds. HOW SCARY. It is a loooong list and very painful too ($$$$). I think there are injections only. Menopur, Follistim, Novarel, Ganirelix, Estradiol, Progesterone in oil, Endometrin.

This weekend I went shopping and ended up buying some childrens books. My DH told me I shouldn't buy anything, not to get my hopes up, but I couldn't resist. Even though I did 2 IUI, didn't feel real. I didn't get excited. But now is different. I am not planning on buying anything else, it was just an impulse.

CT Michelle _ I hope the Clinic set up the date of your surgery soon.

Well, let me say "OUCH" before hand. I am felling the inj already.

Mornin' Ladies,

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

latinosunshine I'm not too sure about the saline sonogram as I've never had one, but I did find the hysteroscopy to be a bit better than the HSG. Still a little uncomfortable, but not too bad. Good luck - keep us posted.

Hazel I'm on the nasal spray right now. It's not too bad - crazy expensive - $5 a snuff! A warning though, once it runs down the back of your throat it tastes really gross. I've found that eating or having a nice hot cup of tea really helps. I was an occassinal drinker but DH and I decided to stop all together after New Years. It's been much easier on me than on poor DH. There has only been once or twice that I found myself wishing I could have a glass of wine.

Carolyn, I hope you can get your accounts done! The internet really can be evil can't it! Sorry to hear about DH's troubles getting home from his trip. That's just plain aggrivating!

Lee Have you started your injections? How is it going?

Michele, thanks for updating the list. I hope you hear from the Dr soon so you can get the ball rolling!

Sisi, Have a great time in Florida!! Soak up some sunshine for us!!

Sari It's excting to get all the meds. Try not to think too much about all of the $$ involved, though. I think you're right - that part might hurt more than the actual shots!!

Sprouthaus, I hope this week is a little less busy for you! Sorry I confused you with Sisi, thinking that you were going to Florida this month. I hope you have agreat trip to the UK with your frinds and cousins!

Trying Welcome to the borad!

Is that everyone? I'm sorry if I've left anyone out  !

Well, off to start another fun-filled week at work!

Happy Monday to all!
Kim

PS - I'm stil just on the nasal spray - expecting AF anyday this week so I can start injections!

Hi Hazel are you sniffing synarel? Thats what I am taking, It will go really quickly, I have a ticker at the bottom of my posts counting down to my FET and when it started it was 2 months and so many days now its only 15 days away!!! Can't believe how quick the time flies, the 2ww is the longest time ever for me and probably most other ladies!!!
I have some red wine at the weekends, not really a drinker otherwise, when the embryos go in then I don't bother and thats not because I think the odd glass of wine will cause us not to get pregnant its more that if it doesn't work then I can truly tell myself I did everything in my power for it to work and can't blame myself for it not working!!!

So Carolyn hows those accounts going??

Michele what did Ella think of the childrens museum?? It must feel very frustrating waiting for the phone to ring!! Have you heard anything yet?? You vent away thats what we are all here for to listen to each other....

Sprout would have loved to come up to London to have a coffee!! Going up in a couple of weeks to stay with my step daughter for a couple of days, I aM having a girly weekend with my 2 girlys before the FET to shop and sightsee!!

Sari loved your poem, I keep a journal where I put all my thoughts and feelings in. I started one that talks about how my journey started and why we are using donor eggs how it all came about, I have put letters and things in there so that when our child is old enough they can have it as a memoir of how we so desperately wanted them and how they came to be. See all that PMA PMA I am talking about when our child will be here not if!!!!!

Latino whats the saline sonogram?? Hot flushes hate them hate them!! We are not supposed to get them until we are old!!!! Hope all goes well tommorrow.

Hi to everyone else hope you are all doing ok.

See you soon

Hi Kim, thanks for the tip about a hot cup of tea to counteract the taste of the nasal spray - I will put that to good use!!

Sari, when are you expecting to have ET? My EC will be w/c 13th April so with a 2/3 day transfer I'm expecting my ET to be around 18th/19th April (give or take a few days). I think I'm going to be a few weeks later than most of the ladies on here so it would be nice if you and I coincide more closely.

Carolyn, thanks for calming me down about the injections. Any chance of you coming round my house every day to adminster them??? Only joking, I'm sure I'll be fine, I'll just try not to think about it too much for another month!

Lee, yep I'm going to be starting to take Synarel in another 10 days (from 5th March). I'll be on it for almost a month before I go to the clinic for my baseline - to be honest, I think they have scheduled me to be down regulating slightly longer than normal because the clinic is so busy and wanted to push me back a bit. DH and I don't really have a say in that because this cycle will be NHS funded, but it's not the end of the world I guess. I would be more annoyed if I was having to inject through the down regulation phase as well.

And I'm pleased to hear that I'm not the only one who has been having a glass of wine or two at the weekends. Like you, I won't be having anything at all after ET (and probably during the stims phase as well) just so I can be sure that I've done everything I can to make it work. It's all so difficult though isn't it when you start TTC, changing more and more bits of your lifestyle as the months go on. I assume I'm not the only one who has tons of literature about how to change your diet and other bits of your lifestyle to maximise your chances! We were so naive when DH and I started TTC 4 years ago, I honestly thought we would get pregnant within six months to a year, like all of our friends seemed to do. Ah well... Now thinking positive about our cycle of IVF!

Wow, a busy Monday on this thread!

Sara- Elaa does seem to like the children's museum. She just likes to get out in general. I really should take her out more often, but I don;t like to go out in the cold and I am still getting used to having her with me. It is a lot of work, coordinating nap time, eating time, diaper changes and such, so I hope to get out more when the weather warms up. I can not believe you are 15 days away! You must be getting excited, you may be our first person on the dreaded 2ww.

kimbob- Hope you have a good work week, and I am doing an af dance for you so you can get started soon!

Sari- those first meds are scary, it will be crazy when you get them all and start laying it all out on a table. It sounds like you are on a lot of the same meds that I did last time and will do again. Don't worry about buying some children's books. We all break down and buy something in hopes of our little one coming, for me, it was a patriots outfit...and Ella finally wore it this past football season, she has already outgrown it. Someday, you will read those books to your little one, and you will remember just how badly you wanted your child and will cherish reading those books.

Latino- The saline sonogram was not bad for me. I took some ibuprofen before hand and didn't really feel much. It was just more annoying than anything. Let us know how it goes, hopefully they don't see anything and you will be on your way.

hjw- I am out of work right now too, have been out since I was 6 months pregnant. It is so weird how I have always been a hard worker, which I still am, but now in a different way. I must admit, I am loving staying home, but sometimes go a little stir crazy. As far as drinking, I am not really a drinker, think I got it all out of my system when I was younger. But I don;t think an occasional drink is bad at all. If I wanted one now, I would have one, but I just don;t crave alcohol ever.

Carolyn- Hope you can get all your work done. I know, ivf boards are very distracting, I remember last time I was cycling and working, I was a librarian at an elementary school and I would check the boards between classes. It must also be nice not to have to do injections this time around, but I am bad with pills, I always forget and I have trouble swallowing them.

Sprout- thanks for the big hug, I needed it! How are you doing?

Well, the clinic called this morning and sounds like we are finally moving along. I took my last bcp on thursday and af is here in full effect. The lady on the phone said I need to call her when af is down to just spotting because the surgery will be done on day 7-10 of my cycle. So if I cound saturday as day 1, the polyp remopval should be between the upcoming friday-tuesday (of course, over the weekend when the hospital probably won;t have open surgery slots). So we will see, but I am guessing early next week. I already told dh that when they call and ask it I am available, the answer will be yes no matter what, so he is prepared to be off from work if he has to.

I will keep you all updated. Have a good monday!

Hazel:

I didn't get the dates, so many dates and information confused me. :? It was a week later, reading here where I understand most of the things she told me. I started BCP 02-12, so my 21 days will be march 4. The nurse told she will call me next week with further instructions, I let you know then.
