Bei - thanks for the wonderful list.

Anissabug - so sorry that it is negative! Lots of hugs and I hope with taking a break from treatments you find peace and rejuvenation.

Terry - welcome to our group. I think feeling scared is perfectly normal. I am not so scared of the shots, but very nervous about undergoing egg retrieval.

I had another blood and ultrasound today. I still have good numbers on both sides, but I am growing slowly. On Saturdays at my clinic we don't see our doctor, we see whoever is working that day, so I ended up seeing a different doctor. He doubled my Gonal from 150 to 300. I am a little nervous about this, but he is a good doctor so I guess I should trust him. I go back Monday for another check, so we will see what happens. I also reached the top of my sharps container today... woo-hoo thats a lot of needles

Hi everyone,

I am very new to IVF... I had a miscarriage in 2007, the D&C was not properly done, so developed severe post-op infection and I recently discovered by laparoscopy that both of my tubes were damaged so they had to remove them. I am 31 years old and my husband is 47 years old. My hormone readings are all perfect, my periods very regular and doctor said that I have no other problems besides the tubes as shown by laparoscopy. My husband has low count , so iven all these factors I am scheduled to go through my first IVF cycle next month.
I am very anxious and nervous about it, as I have had such horrible experiences with miscarriages in the past. I am so afraid of miscarrying again, or may be not even gettin pregnant.
I wonder what would be my chances of achieving successful pregnancy-- I had the tubal removal a week ago, still healing from the operation.
I never thought that I would be in this situation-- having to go through IVF, and the success rates of live births by this procedure do not look encouraging to me at all-- like they are somewhere in the 30s percentage for the best clinics?
I am living in the Persian Gulf, and I do not even know how clinis here compare to clinics in the West, although i am going to may be oneof the most reputed clinics around here.
I don't know even what to ask you and where to start from-- I am so overwhelmed with emotions, and I so much hope and pray God will bless me with a healthy baby after all the tragic losses.
Wishing everyone luck and will appreciate any advice and encouragement :?

Anissabug - I am sorry! My heart goes out to you.

Terry and Ringo - Welcome!

PurpleFish - Wow...that is alot of needles. Next Sunday I get to put my first one in the container!! I can't wait to get started. Whether the outcome is good or bad, I need to do this and know I did everything I could.

AFM - Still just on BCP and waiting for my first Lupron shot on the 9th. My brother who is only a year older than me just had a massive heart attack yesterday, but I think he will be ok. He will just need to make some life altering changes in his diet and excerise...and since we are related, I think I should take that advice too!

Welcome Ringo. I think that your odds might be better than you think. I am not at one of the top clinics in the US and there are very high success rates for women under 35. Per transfer my clinic last year had a 75% pregnancy rate for women under 35 and a 65% percent live birth rate for women under 35 (so about 10% miscarry). I think if you have a doctor that you like and is competent it should go smoothly for you. There are a lot of great women on this forum with so much knowledge, everyone would be more than happy to help field questions. I too never thought I would have to go through fertility treatments or IVF either, I have "unexplained infertility" which basically means my husband and I are both perfectly healthy and they have no clue why we can't conceive naturally. Stay positive great things can happen!

Annisabug - Hugs to you, hope the break from it all helps and you're back on board again soon.

Welcome to all the newbies. Good luck!

No exciting news from me. Had my blood test today and still awaiting the results on that. Hopefully it's all OK. AF turned up today with a vengence and I'm feeling blah. I've been reassured by my IVF nurse that that's normal, so until otherwise proven, all is on track. :)

Morning ladies,

Whoa, it,s super humid today; rain started falling on my way to work, but humidity levels are likely to stay up for a few days. hehehehe it's great to feel like summer is here, but boy do I regret choosing long pants this morning! :)

Anissa,
I'm so sorry sweetie. :( I see you're keeping a good attitude about all this; I totally understand how finally getting the result, positive or negative, is a relief because the cruel waiting is over. I'm happy to see that you're planning time for you, and time for your family during the summer. We'll miss you around here. Lots of hugs!!!!

Terri,
Hi there! Welcome! We have lots of first timers on this thread, it's great to have first-time fellows when you do your first cycle. Lots of baby dust to you!

purple,
Great news on the blood tests and u/s. Well, you know how it is... dishes always taste way better when they're slow cooked! by the time you have ER, your follies will be "cooked" to perfection! :) Can't wait to see your numbers tomorrow! :)

Ringo,
Infertility and its treatments are a roller coaster of emotions. Sometimes you feel very optmistic, other times you feel so low you think you'll never become pregnant. It takes time to recover from a miscarriage, and part of you never recovers completely. The suffering fades, but not the loss. I'd like to say, "Don't worry, give it time and it will happen one way or the other" but I know worries and impatience come with the process. So I'll just say, "Go with the flow". Take care of yourself when you feel low, do indulge in chocolate often, do let yourself hope and pick baby names when you feel optimistic. Just allow yourself to experience the rollercoaster ride without fighting it. You'll see, the people here are there to help you and answer your questions. Don't put too much importance on the stats. Even if the chances were 10% you'd still have a chance to become pregnant after all. No matter if your clinic is the best in town or not, if you feel good about the protocol and have a good relationship with your doc, then go ahead!!! Good luck!

kizmet,
Hi there! Glad to know that all is on track, but sorry about the blah-ness! *hugs* But erm, I'm confused, weren't we crossing fingers and toes for AF not to happen?

AFM I had an amazing weekend! my wedding cake turned out great on Saturday and I got very encouraging reviews. I'm definitely giving the dessert catering business a try and I've started working on the website! Sooooo exciting! :) Other than that, boring week at work... BUT if all goes well I'll be PUPO in a week!

Take care ladies!

Anissa - big hugs - I am so sorry sweetie. Give your babies a big hug to make yourself feel better. I hope you have a great summer concentrating on your family and then try again when you are ready.

PMA - yes PUPO in a week I hope!!!! :)

purple - I can't wait for the results and thank you for sending me lots of follicle dust, I need them!

kiz - waiting is hard but you are almost there!

Bei - I see your blinkies and makes me happy - I can't wait to be on the PUPO side!

lisa- OMG! I hope your brother is ok, I am so sorry sweetie, sending you healing thoughts for him! Please keep us posted

ringo - so sorry to hear about your story with the infection and tube damage, keep a PMA, positive mental attitude! It does happen!

nfd - welcome

AFM - I am so emotional now because of meds it is ridiculous, I had some issues at work and had to close my door to cry. I hate feeling out of control, and I have to concentrate on happy baby thoughts and not ball away... :( I get so scared that I used up my IVF luck with my son and that this cycle won't work... I need PMA!!!! I am not a very good responder also. Last time my right ovary had 2 follies and left had 8, then 7 eggs and only 4 mature enough for ICSI. I really hope to make more follies and eggs this time to have forsties. Sorry for the ramblings!

So today was a kind of bummer of an appointment. Basically my eggs didn't grow at all over the weekend. My e2 levels didn't rise either. My doctor said this very uncommon and they would not expect this in someone my age and with my medical history. Then he made that confused frowny face that doctors get when they have no idea why something is going wrong. He is still hopeful that the retrieval will be Saturday, so send me some good growing vibes my way the next two days. I go back Wednesday and Thursday so hopefully good things will happen.

I will do personals later tonight.

Hello everyone!

Had my ET this morning! :) Everything went really well - faster than last time! They thawed 3 embryos and 2 survived so we transferred 2 great looking blast embryos. I took over a 3 hour nap when I got home - just got up and thought I would say "hello" and that you can officially move me to the PUPO group!

Hope everyone is having a great day! I'm going to be thinking happy thoughts for the next 2 weeks (or maybe a little under that as they said I could come in the Sat/Sun before the 17th to get our results! :) ) I can't wait but I'm going to take it easy all week (as I took time off work all week!)
