Tammy - I heard that if you mix it up and let it sit there for a few minutes that it stings less. By the time I read this, I was done with it but I just remembered it and wanted to share! Regardless it is all worth it! I know, I can't believe I still have to wait, hurry up and wait... hurry up and wait has been my thing lately. I do feel like everything is going well and that it is going to work, I do worry about how many to transfer etc, but I will cross that bridge when I get there. How do you feel about twins? Rembmer KatieG and Mellie, they both had/are having twins after a singleton. Take care and grow follies!!!

Lou

YAY I am so excited to know someone will be doing an FET with me in October. I am really excited even though I am not entirely sure what to expect.
Its funny you mention not being able to carry a tune...I have had perfect pitch since I was 5 and played the piano for 25 years plus the singing but my little son (10 years old) cannot carry a tune at all...lol he is too funny because he tries all the time but he can't even put two notes together. Anyways I am just curious as to why you need bcp and Lupron for the FET?

Wow I just read 4 pages fast! I have to read them again...so much info lol!

Ryann - I heard ohss is worse if you get pregnant so it's better to wait even though it stinks! But glad we can cycle together! And 25 in October? I will be 36 in November. I still feel 25 though. When did I get old?

Franny - Ya it has to work one of these times huh?

Tammy - wow things are sure going fast! Great news!!

I have to read and catch up! I am disappointed in all the BFN in the summer. Can we have a better fall please???

Tammy-- Wow! You are an egg-making machine! I can't believe you're going to ER already! You don't waste any time. That's awesome! You're little kitty and Zach look so cute together!

Ryann--So sorry to hear about the OHSS. I think your RE is making the right call. You want your pregnancy to be a happy experience. Can't wait to hear how many eggies you have!

Lauren--How lucky are you that your insurance messed up! I would be doing the happy dance!

Amanda--Your dogs are soooo cute!

Klinger--You are doing such a wonderful job on the list!

Lauren319--You are such a trooper doing another fresh cycle. It's going to be the ONE for you!

Franny--So good to see your beautiful face! Your dogs are pretty cute too!

Wondercat--I am with you on trying to post pics. I am just not good with computers. I know that as soon as I start trying that I will be stuck in it until I get it and I have enough to manage right now. Good luck! I love kitties too. I've had cats in the past. My DH is allergic, so we can't have one. My daughter and I both want one really bad. I think that my dog Jack would love to have a playmate.

Rio--I am so happy to hear that you can get started!

Teresa--Can't wait to hear how many follies you have!

AFM...I got the BEST news today! :D My RE saw my donor today and said that she was FANTASTIC! :D He said that he couldn't believe how similar we are. He said that we look like sisters. His words were....she's very attractive, petite, same bone structure, very smart, well spoken, and seemed very sweet and trustworthy. Her antral follicle count was 16 and he thinks that she will be an excellent donor for us! He said that usually the donors have the same hair color or eye color, but none ar e usually this similar in appearance. He couldn't say enough nice things about her. He talked to her and her doctor about the Paxil and the dr said that it was low dosage and she could stop it anytime and that it wasn't meant for long term use for her....which made me feel so much better. The fact that he went on and on about how great she was made me feel so relieved. My RE isn't one to sugar-coat anything. Tomorrow I have an appointment to see exactly where I am in my cycle. My cycle will depend on how soon she will start stims. It could be as soon as 3 weeks. While we're waiting for our cycles to sync, there's alot of stuff that has to be done first. They start with a drug test. Then, they do genetic and infectious disease testing. There's also alot of checks to write and legal stuff. I'm so excited! I will post tomorrow after my RE appointment.

*Lots of love*

Karin - thanks and I am so happy to hear your RE gave the donor a giant thumbs up! Woo-hoo! I can't wait until you start your cycle, it's going to be great!

Brandy - since all the dancing for Franny's AF worked, we'll switch to dancing for you now. Come on AF!!

Victoria - It really is nice to have a place to celebrate and have support from ladies who have been through or are going through the process. I'm glad you joined the group too and definitely let us know how today goes!

lou - I'm sorry your cycle is dragging! Hopefully your fun weekend at the US Open will take your mind off the slow-moving calendar. And we're definitely going to keep the PMA going strong on this thread!

As we're getting so much action on this thread (love it!), I'm hoping I'm catching everyone's updates on the list. If I miss anything, just let me know! :)

riogirl71 - Thanks so much!! Obviously, I finally got it to work! Of course I'm realizing it's not a particularly good shot of me since I'm in huge sunglasses... This board is so busy, and I can't tell if it's frustrating that I'm still so far from starting or exciting because there's so much going on with some of you ladies that I still feel like I'm in the thick of things. At least it's September now so October isn't too far away...

Annashope -- I'm doing a medicated cycle FET which is why I need Lupron and BCP's. This web page explains the difference between a natural cycle and medicated cycle. There's some literature out there that controlled medicated cycles have higher success rates. http://www.advancedfertility.com/fet-cycle.htm
How many frosties do you have? Are they blasts? Do you know the grading? I've got 2 blasts frozen. Both are 4BB quality.

Karin -- Your donor sounds fantastic! So happy for you.

Klinger -- Thanks! I'm glad for the high PMA on this board. We're going to get a whole string of BFP's!!! Yes, the US Open will be exciting!

AFM -- I'll be out of town until Tuesday. I'll have my phone with me but I think I might try to get IVF off the brain for a few days. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend!

Hi Ladies--I'm reposting this from the summer board. Can someone put me on the schedule for a Beta on 9/10 (maybe...I might move it up b/c they have it 14 days after a 5DT, which I think is TOO long...)

Esther--I am so sorry, I hope that you and your husband find some peace with whatever route you choose.

Rypell--sorry to hear that you had to freeze the embies this cycle. Fingers crossed for October!

Hopeforbabies--I don't remember feeling anything w/ my stimming. I actually felt pretty good...

Tammy--good luck w/ ER!!!

AFM: Neither one of my remaining 2 blasts made it to day 7, which is fine. We didn't want to have to pay the $2k for freezing, storage and this makes it easier for us. But, I am worried that it means that we didn't get good quality embies for this cycle. But, I have to remind myself that out of the 5 embies from my cycle with my son, only one embryo worked and that's all we need. In other news, my estrogen dropped, which I freaked out about, but then I found my cycle meds from my cycle w/ my son and the same thing happened. So we're not game over yet. I can't decide when to do my beta. They have it scheduled for 14 DP 5DT and I don't want to wait that long. RE said I could decide when I want to come in....how about 11 DP 5DT? Next Monday? I'd do it earlier, but my MIL is in town and I don't want to break down in front of her if it doesn't work. Oh, and I am having "itchy nipples" sensation...which I am trying to convince myself is just the drugs...but I remember this sensation the last time we did IVF...and I got pregnant. I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Ryann - Hey, deciding when you want your kids can work. One of my good friends always wanted to be done having 2 kids by the time she was 30. So when she turned 29 she started freaking out that she only had time to have one, if any. Last year she had identical twin boys less than a month before turning 30! Most people will probably laugh at this, but my mother has this way of knowing things. Five years ago when I first started TTC she told me that I would have one in 2009 and another in 2011. I kind of scoffed at it then because it was 2005 and I wanted a baby NOW. But as you can see she was right about the first one, so...

annashope - I will hopefully be doing my FET in October, too. I also had to laugh about the singing comments. I love music and am in a local choir, as well as some trumpet in a little brass group. My husband, on the other hand, cannot carry a tune to save his soul. We listen to a lot of music around Sean and I sing to him all the time, hoping that he will be musical like my side of the family... Fingers crossed that he got Daddy's red hair and blue eyes but Mama's perfect pitch!!

lauren1171 - This is going to be a GREAT fall! (And I hear you on catching up - I'm posting so out of order because if I don't log on all the time I'll miss 2 pages of posts!)

karin - That is such great news about your donor! How exciting for you and you husband.

riogirl71 - I hear you on hurry up and wait. Oh, god, the constant waiting...

Teresa...Glad you jouned us over here! I can't wait to hear how many follies you have growing in there!

Tammy...I'm sure right about the trigger because I have NO clue what I'm doing in all of this!!! I hope my ER is Monday because my principal is opening up the school this weekend for us to get our classes ready and I really want to be ablet o go in both days!

BLang...Sounds like you are moving right along!!!

Victoria...Good luck with ER tomorrow!!! Can't wait hear how many eggs they get!

Lauren1171...Yea, I've heard OHSS is bad is you get pregnant too, that's why I am kind of okay with holding off ont he transfer. 36 is NOT old....but I AM having hard time with 25...it sounds like such a big jump from 24!

Karin...That is so great that your RE loved the donor! I hope you guys get to start ASAP!!!

klinger....great job keeping up the list!

Lou...Have a great time in NY...you deserve it!!!!

DCRUnning...Sorry that your blasts didn't make it to freeze, but it sounds like you're ok with that! I hope all the signs you're feeling are pregnancy signs! I can't wait to hear your BFP!!!

Wondercat...I won't laugh at your mom knowing things at all! We have a thing in my family where someone always dreams of a baby being born into the family pretty close to when that person gets pregnant. My aunt had a dream about all of my mom's kids, cousins dream about cousins kids...and we've never been wrong! My aunt had the dream about me when my mom was on BCP and waiting for her appt to get her tubes tied (she already had 3 kids). Well at her pre-op appt she found out she was 4 months pregnant with me! I was bound and determined to be here and now I can't get pregnant! GRRRR. I had a dream about my cousin being 7 months pregnant with a little boy at Chrismas and she announced she was pregnant and due in February. She has a little boy! Well, my cousin had a dream about me recently. She couldn't tell the gender of the baby, just that DH and I were walking into a family party with a baby in our arms. I hope she's right! I just had a dream about my sister (who doesn't want kids yet!) and she kind of freaked out!!!

AFM...I think me RE is nuts. I don't think I have any signs of OHSS. Maybe I have a lot of follies and high estrogen but I feel FINE! I'm exhausted and bloated, but I don't have any other signs that OHSS is on it's way. I'm hoping, hoping, hoping that when I go in tomorrow my levels will be fine and she'll say she was being cautious but that I will be just fine to do my transfer! I drank 82 ounces of gatorade yesterday and have already have about 30 today. Maybe if I just keep up with that all will be perfect!

Tomorrow is my first day back at work since June 4th! My students start on Tuesday and we have't been allowed in our classes yet because of the construction on the building. We can work on them this weekend, so I'm hoping ER isn't until Sunday or Monday so I can get some work done!

I just got home from my appointment with my RE. He did an u/s and I had 7 antral follicles on my right and none on my left...all less than 10. I have NEVER had that many. We were both shocked. He said that I could do a cycle to see if they would grow. I said no, because if we did a cycle and it resulted in a BFN, it would push the donor cycle back a couple of months. He said that he would prefer not to because he wouldn't want to waste time and money and potentially lose my donor. I told him that I was done with it and was ready to move on to better odds. We talked about my donor and he said again how he couldn't have picked me a better donor genetically. He joked and said maybe she's my long lost sister. Now we have to hope and pray that all of her tests come back okay. He did a pregnancy test, which was negative. I will start bcp today and she will go for her drug screen. As soon as we get results from the drug test we will start the genetic testing and legal stuff which takes about 2 weeks. If that comes back okay, she will start stims. I can't begin to express how happy this makes me. I know that we have a few hurdles to cross to even get to stims, but I can't help but be hopeful. I feel so good about this....finally. I didn't think that I would ever get to a place where I would be at ease with the decision of a donor...now I am.

I hope that all of you lovely ladies are having a wonderful day!

OK, this isn't really related to anything baby, but I really need some serious PMA vibes to go out to my husband right now. He just sent out a resume for what would be a dream job (better hours, right down the street) and they called back within 20 minutes to see if he could interview IMMEDIATELY because another person canceled. He couldn't go because he's watching not only Sean but my niece and nephew while my mom and sister do some pre-hurricane food shopping!! :x PLEASE say a prayer for this, if he can get this job I will be able to go down to at least PT plus I might even get to see my husband every so often when he's not either dead asleep or a zombie.

We had our IVF class today and it went very well. It was full of information. We both enjoyed it a lot.

I'm now just waiting on AF to arrive, which is approximately 12 days. (not that I'm counting ha ha ha) As soon as AF arrives, I call my IVF nurse and start BCP the next day.

Do your clinics do trial embryo transfers? I haven't seen y'all mention that so that information was new to me. Y'all are so full of good information though. Having read on here so much, I was familiar with a lot of what they talked about so it made the information easier to absorb, IMO.

Off to read and catch up on everyone.

Me 39 "normal"
Dh 49 problem with tubes so no sperm "gets out" (basically like a vasectomy)

currently in 1st IVF -- BCP until 10/3, currently on Lupron. Suppression check 10/8. Start stims 10/9.

hi everyone!!

lou have a GREAT trip!!! hopefully this heat will pass so you arent in nyc in 97 degrees! i'm so sorry i forgot to give you some ideas on where to go...this past week has been crazy with DH's crohn's and figuring out all the surgery stuff and everything...my mind has been in a fog! there is a great lil bar/ restaurant in the village that me and DH go to alot..its called employees only, and its at 510 hudson st (between christopher st and W10th st.) its an old speakeasy that was used during pohibition, and they play it up! its like being back in the 1920's...you have to pass by a physic card reader out front and then a large man will open a black curtain for you to let you back into the bar! its nice and cozy and has great food too! speakeasy's are they new "thing to do" in NYC right now!! cant wait to hear all about your trip! dont even think about IVF ok?? we will all be here when you get back!! xoxoxo :D

karin i'm so excited for your donor cycle, and that you feel at peace with the decision!! once you get pregnant and hear that lil ones heartbeat and feel him/her growing there will be no doubt in your mind that it will be YOUR baby!!! :D :D

ryann good luck on your first day back at work! my DH is a teacher and today was the 2nd day back...the kiddies come back tomorrow! i'm glad you arent feeling bad!! i'm crossing all i got that everything works out. even if you have to freeze them, it will make it easier when you do your FET!!

dc running when is your beta?? glad you jumped over...we will keep you busy during the 2WW. are you going to POAS??

wondercat dont you hate waiting??? grrrrrrr!!! i'm so glad you are here to cheer us on while you wait though! your DS is adorable, and you both look so happy in that pic! love it! i think i asked before but where on the cape are you? do you ever see chris from the bachelorette? haha i love him!

tammy how are you doing?? are you using the q-cap with the menopur? i found that always helped me get it all out of the bottle then just using a needle. the meds absorbs some of the water so it will be less then 1cc, but as long as the meds going in i dont think its a problem. (and seeing how you are responding this cycle i dont think its worth worrying over!) xoxo

rio DHEA scares me. ghost always says there isnt enough research out there to feel right telling woman to take it. i did do some googling on it a while back, and i didnt like the side effects listed at all. i asked my old RE about it and she said not to take it. some RE's use it, but i dont see any data that shows it changes the outcome of IVF cycles...plus you need to be on it for a while for there to be any benefits.

teresa so glad you jumped over!! how goes the stims?? GROW FOLLIES GROW!! i cant wait for you to start off this board with a BFP!! :D

amanda whats new with you??? have any fun plans for the holiday weekend??

thinking of you all!!

afm went in for my SnS this morning, and with my new RE i have to go to the hospital here in town for everything because they dont do monitoring here at the local office. this is new to me! my last RE i just went to the local office for all my SnS's and i would usually be one of three people there and it was quick and easy. i was a little nervous going in today just because i didnt know how it worked there, but it turned out to be really easy. the ultrasound tech was really nice and friendly so i liked her alot. the B/W took sometime because the computers went down or something so i was stuck behind what seemed to be a million seniors! i guess those are the only people going to the hospital for bloodwork at 7am!
anyway so i just got the call, and my nurse said everything looked great today and i am a go to start meds tonight!!! wooooohoooooo!! here we go again! cycle 6 has to be the one right?? i am doing a ton of meds!! 300 of follistim and 300 of menopur!! pump me up baby!! i told DH to watch out cause here come the crazies!! i dont have to go back for another SnS until sunday which i like because it means less stress of waiting for my results. i'm sure i'll be going everyday before i know it so i'm going to enjoy this time and just visualize my follies growing!!
ok gotta run!

****much love always****
