AFM: still sick! 13 weeks today and although the nausea is lessneing, I still have bouts of vomiting and nausea . . . can;t wait for the second trimester! Next OB appt is Wed . . . hope to be off pelvic bedrest my that point . . . DH is really looking forward to it!

Lou - I was wondering, what hospital are you going to delivery at? I live about 20 minutes from you, so I was curious. I am going to highland park because that is the only hospital my OB does deliveries.

I'll be delivering at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
What town do you live in? I'm currently in Algonquin, but DH and I are both originally from Lake County.

Sorry you're suffering with m/s. I barely had any and consider myself lucky. It will be fun to see if you really are having a boy! When is your gender scan?

Lou: gender scan won't be for another 6 or 7 weeks I did the biorhythms for DD (conception date and actual birthday) and it was correct -- girl I think all the quizzes so far have indicated boy . . . too funny

Dallas- I am so excited for you to find out the news soon. I'm looking forward to updating our new list for the first time.

Mora- the m/s thing was weird for me. It pretty much just shut off completely after week 12. My energy came back too. It makes me wonder if a bit of it is mental since that is when they say it should get better. Maybe I was willing it away! I hope that you have the second trimester healing too. I don't know why I thought you wanted a little boy. I must be projecting... . I know we will all love our little ones no matter what they are.

Addy- I giggled when I saw your ticker today. You are carrying a little onion! Hee hee. You think they could find something at least a little more appealing. Babycenter.com has a size comparison tool that shows a picture of the fruit or veggie that represents the size of your baby every week. One of the early weeks had a picture of a shrimp. Made me a little nauseas! Anyway, I am sure its a sweet onion and that your little one is just adorable right now.

Lou- thanks for crashing with the gender predictor!

Katie- good to hear that things are moving along well with the adoption. I remember feeling that the process seemed so overwhelming when we were looking into it. Have you told Emilee yet? Curious about what your plans are with communicating with her.

AFM- the gender predictor Lou sent was a BOY for me. I still think it is going to be a girl though, because DH is just asking for karma to give us a girl! Yesterday he volunteered in a concession stand for his Rotary club right next door to J C Penny's during our downtown community Summer Sidewalk Sales. I guess they had a ton of onesies for $2. So he bought three of them all in little boy colors and patterns, one even said "baby boy" on it! He thought it was really funny, but I told him that I was betting that he sealed the deal for sure and that God was going to give us a girl. My experience is that God has quite the sense of humor!

He is racing all weekend (sailing) and I have to finally write this massive paper I have due in September. Grrrr....

So I am sure I will be out here procrastinating this weekend!

The fam & I are on a road trip at the moment we are in Steamboat Springs Colorado had a great day sitting by the river teaching Em all about fast moving water and how to be careful in it and how to get used to the cold water...it was a perfect day. We are then on our way to Breckenridge Colorado (we have a condo there) will hang out with some family and then to Glenwood Springs Colorado for a week or so to spend some time with my whole family. Post some pictures if I get some good ones....

Oh my goodness Mora! What a great baby bump! Just adorable. I love that you LOOK pregnant. I'm finally getting out if the stage that it just looks like I'm letting myself go.

I did have my first "congratulations" from a stranger on Friday though. I was so excited that I called Mt sisters and DH to tell them about it.

You girls looks great!! I'll try and take a pic one of these days where you can see my bump. The only pics I've been taking are every month in the same (currently baggy) shirt. I want to see how long it takes before my belly fills it up.

Lou - I live on the wheeling/buffalo grove border, so I guess that is more like 30 minutes away from where you are.

Think about thoughtless comments, too personal questions, and bad/crazy advice...

Hi Ladies,

I hope it is not too late to join the party. I just want to share my news on a board where people know what it takes some of us to get here.

First, congratulations to each and every one of you. I hope you have great, uneventful and funfilled pregnancies.

This is my first pregnancy after 2 rounds of IVF, one mock cycle and finally successful with our first FET. I am 11 weeks along and due in Feb 2012.

Bliss: Here are a few of the comments I've gotten with both pregnancies:

"Was this planned or a surprise?" Just be happy for me!

"Are you SURE it's not twins?" Are you saying I look fat?

"What are you going to do with those cats?" Like I'm getting rid of my cats....Jeez!

Oh, and a word of caution with sharing names: Be careful with who you share. Seems like everyone has an opinion and a need to share horror/obnoxious stories about names. I remember I told a co-worker and she said, "Grace? I knew a girl who got arrested named Grace!" Shut up, Lady! I usually tell people I'm still debating and only share with close friends and you guys, of course
