i still dont have resolution guys - i spoke with the doc but we needed to know hcg levels for today - so waiting on those. but he seemed really confused and indicated that this might even be another ectopic!! which totally blew me away. i am speaking with him again this afternoon - and i hope he changed his mind. there was no ectopic on the u/s, so i dont know why he would think that. he seemed to think that the little sac that they saw could not possibly be responcible for the hcg levels we were seeing. so he figured there must be another embryo somewhere - probably in teh tube.

i dont know - frankly today made me really doubt my doc. if it is an ectopic - then its #2 and why the heck do they keeping happening - its his job to place them in there so they dont end up in teh tube. if its not an ectopic then why would he think it is???

anyway - there is another clinic in my city which is very good - i didnt want to mess with things - but i might have to change things up.

i'll know more this afternoon.

AFM: Sorry for the lack of personals, but I just got home from a 12 hour stint in the ER. Ugh. Food poisoning, I think. Back with the living, I hope! All it took was 12 hours in the ER, 4 bags of fluid, 2 IV doses of zofran, 1 IV dose of reglan, 1 zofran and 2 reglan orally at home, 16 hours of sleep, and a very helpful husband! Never been so sick in my life. Baby's ok though. Still feeling pretty nauseous. Ugh.

hi guys - well i spoke with the doc again and my beta came in at 3000 today. which means that rate of growth is slowing down from 2 day doubling to 4 day doubling, which makes sense with the pregnancy being non-viable. he wants me to continue with progesterone through tue and come in for u/s then. but we are not holding out much hope. just dont want to regret later pulling the plug. frankly later i felt i should have asked him what are the chances of this being viable and why bother with progesterone at all. but whatever - i guess few more days of waiting wont make a difference.

the doc doesnt seem to think its an ectopic anymore. which is good - because if this was an ectopic i would be switching doctors. ectopics have to do with embryo placement - and if he cant place him then i'll find someone who can. one ectopic i can understand - but 2 - no thank you.

i should have probably insisted on stopping the progesterone today but i didnt think quick enough so i guess i will stop it on wednesday morning after we confirm on tuesday that my sac is still terribly behind. and now with the beta growth slowing there is no way to catch up really.

oh well - now i am just hoping that after i stop the progesterone and my AF shows up my beta comes down without any drama - because i just cant handle the thought of another ectopic. and switching to a new clinic would be a pain in the neck, too. these guys know me pretty well and i really do feel we are just one good cycle away form getting pregnant.

Lyd10 - I hate to hear that this has turned into more turmoil for you. I was so hoping this was not the direction this would take. I am so pleased that you are already thinking that if this is really not viable then let's just move onto the next piece of the plan. I am in awe of your strength!

Hope - Dr. Weckstein is mine, and he too is amazing!!! And that is too funny, how we switched places. Where in TX did you move? I'm from San Antonio.

Dr. Weckstein did my ET! He is such a sweet man! We moved a few miles up north of Dallas. Boy, it's hot out here! Not at all fun to be pregnant in this state! You said you live in Central Valley. That must be quite a commute to the RSC, right?

It's actually not too bad. An hour with no traffic, a little under an hour and a half if it's during the commute. I see you also got pregnant with them on your first attempt. Another teacher friend of mine did too. They really know their stuff there!

And yes, Texas heat is no joke!

Dogzrule - they really do know their stuff there. I was very pleased with the facility. Did you recently move to CA or did you also do your first IVF there? I see you had an FET this time around.

Oh no, we moved here 12 years ago! But we lived in the Bay Area for the first 5 years. And yes, we had two frozen embies left over from that fresh cycle. We're done!
