Wondercat – Yay for starting Lupron!! :D

Sunshine – I am feeling great physically, I even went to a costume party yesterday! It’s so nice not to have OHSS :) . Wow you have some good follies growing, good job! Were you able to sleep a little more today?

Ninde – I am feeling great, this has been such a nice cycle. I had no bleeding after the retrieval and no OHSS symptoms. I am so sorry about what your clinic is doing to you guys, your poor hubby. This is not fair, they should be a little more sensitive to their patients’ needs. Please keep us posted, hope you receive the letter/results as soon as possible.

AFM – I tried to post here yesterday about my drama but it wasn’t working, not sure why . The clinic called me to tell me I would have to do the transfer tomorrow because of the bad weather (day 4). I got so mad because this is the only time we were qualified to do a day 5 and because of the weather we would have to do a day 4. The nurse called me again today to tell me they had a meeting and the doctor decided to go ahead with a day 5 transfer for Tuesday, however, I should remain on standby for tomorrow just in case. Ladies please keep me in your prayers, I am worried the bad weather can do something to the lab and damage the embryos, the embryologist called me and told me that they have a generator and I shouldn’t worry but I still do! All this emotions, ups and downs, the IVF road is not easy. :(

Pocos- Glad you are feeling good physically AND don't have OHSS to worry about, yet your emotions are quite normal. What is the latest update on Sandy? I will be praying that you go in for the 5 day transfer, it will be certainly happening before you know it! :D Sleep, what's that? I have an 8am appt tomorrow and then heading back into work right after...but toward the end of the week I'm taking some time off. I already have two people volunteering to take some of my hours, they want the hours and I'm quite thankful they do, bc I sure don't. I cannot wait for our big day AND it's not that far away!

AFM: Tired ovaries are killing me but I've taken Kynlee's advice and drinking some gateraid. :D
Love to you all,

Patricia- Is your next cycle going to be in Feb just because of all the bs at your clinic?

Woundercat- Yaa for Leupron I'm not far behind you. I hope this cycle goes well for you.

Pocos- I'm glad you don't have any OHSS this time. I hear that's really painfull and sucks. Tomorrow's the big day right? Have you heard anything since they called the day after ER?

Christy- Good luck this week. You are Retrieving this week right?

AFM- I had a good birthday weekend. I took Friday off but it's not like I was off I did nothing but clean house and catch up on laundry and then Sat I did nothing but cook and get ready for our big party. I did drink a little but never really got drunk I guess self contiously I still worry about if it's going to effect what we are trying to do through IVF. I have attached a pic of me and one of the DH and I. If Dh has a mask I can't get him to take it off for pics so sorry you just get to see his dead pirate mask. I should be getting my calender today and a call from the pharmacy to order my meds. I know I'm starting Leupron on the 4th.

Triggered tonight, go in tomorrow for b/w and retrieval will be happening Wednesday morning. :D :D I got into trouble with Bosshog today but really don't care right now much too excited!

Tawny- Loved the Halloween outfits! :D I'm glad you had a nice birthday, let's make it the best one yet! I can feel so much is going to be in store for you!

AFM: The girls were surprised I didn't let our boss get under my skin today, I told I'm just too tired to even care right now. Going back to clinic tomorrow morning just for bloodwork since the hcg shot and then work then heading to Mobile tomorrow night to spend the night before retrieval day on Halloween.

I like this Attach photo thing lol except it's really big when I attach it. I got my calendar yesturday. Last time I started with 20 units of Leupron for 12 days but I guess since I had such problems with AF last week and I've been on BCP for the most part he doesn't have to crank it up. And since I had such trouble last round with growing bigger folicals he's added extra Menopur the first 3 days. I just hope it flows with the calender this time in Aug I was 4 days late with the ER.

Pocos- I'm hoping that you are Transfering today and sending love and prayers your way.

Sunshine- I can't believe you are having ER on Halloween I would be so excited over that. It's only because It's a big holiday around here.

Just to throw it out there. I'm a very religious person and Halloween is not about devils work or any of that with our family. I don't know how to explain it we just love to dress up and celebrate birthdays and have fun with it. We are voluneteering with the fire department for the haunted house and have a blast with it. I've had alot of people question me at work about how I can be religious but yet put so much effort into Halloween. Just saying if anyone was woundering. :D

Pocos- How did everything work out with the transfer?

Tawny- lol it's kind of creepy to have retrieval on Halloween, no? But as long as I see no black cats and no other "roadkill" I'll remain tackfully calm! lol

Ninde- Thanks I'll need lots of luck tomorrow! How did everything go today with the phone call to the clinic? :D

AFM: 36 hours later from trigger shot is the retrieval... it's all happening so fast! Tomorrow morning is nearly here and I need a good turnout so we can freeze some, that's all I seem to care about. I don't expect much right now but lots of eggs to work with later on would be nice! Here we go down this road and no POASing pushers, I honestly feel those sticks are evil.

Update: 3:19am I beat my alarm clock this morning, this is more exciting then Christmas morning! Anyhow we were supposed to have left last night but dh had issues with getting his work done so I told him we will just make the drive back to the Mobile, Alabama clinic in the morning. I wasn't very happy about that, but we have plenty of time since we'll leave here an hour earlier and there isn't much traffic this hour. I should tell him not to be alarmed IF once they knock me out, I sleep much longer then the actual retrieval, for once I'm glad to be finally getting zzzz. Like I said here we go down this road feeling every emotion possible.

Sunshine- good luck this morning. I hope everything works great today. Trust me I know what you mean about being knocked out and happy to get some sleep. In Aug I asked the nurse if I could just stay asleep as ling as possible because I seemed like I hadn't slept in days Lol. How long is your drive? It sounds far ours is about 3 hours.

Sunshine – OMG you are having your retrieval already, that’s so exciting! Please keep us updated! Hope you get lots of eggies :D .

Tawny – I love your outfits! Great pictures! Girl, I ended up having an emergency transfer on Monday, thanks to Sandy. Not what we planned but what can we do? Thanks for all the prayers. How are you doing?

Ninde – I am doing ok, still upset that we didn’t get to do a 5 day transfer . I am so scared of having another BFN, I don’t know how I will be handle it. How are things with the clinic? I think the good thing about all that happened is that it will help make a better decision on what clinic you’ll decide to work with. I believe after all this, it may be a good idea to switch, have you decided yet?

AFM – ladies, Sorry I have been MIA, I haven’t had internet since Monday night (I am at work now), there is a lot of damage in my neighborhood after Sandy, but we are all ok. Ladies, I went to so much stress I can no ever describe. I received a phone call from the clinic on Monday afternoon asking me to go there have my transfer. As we were leaving the police comes to our street and tells we should all evacuate the area. All we had time to get was the progesterone suppositories. We went to the clinic, transferred 3 4-day embryos, the 7 left didn’t make it to freezing (found out today). Then we decided not to go to the shelter, we went home. I thought I would be more relaxed at home than at the shelter. Thank God nothing happened to our house. Beta is scheduled for 11/9!! but I don’t know if I can handle another BFN  Please keep me in your prayers.

Pocos- Yikes I'm terrified of storms but glad you have family to stay safe and maybe also provide much needed distraction from all this. I will keep you in my prayers with your embabies, we must remember God is in control now. When do you think it will be safe enough to go back to your house? I will pray everything is safe and sound there too. Speaking of parents, dh has to work on Saturday so in a bind he called his mom today to ask her to come down and take me to the transfer on Saturday. I love her to death but this seems a little much since his dad is also coming down too (she has jaw trouble so he wouldn't want her to drive 6 hours down here) and my house is a complete mess. He told me he has to work Saturday but the last thing I need is family coming, Is it too late to call my best friend instead? But part of me would feel bad for cancelling out on them, but another part would be morified if they saw my house. Yikes how can I get out of this, the nurse told me someone would have to take me because they are giving me valium and I won't be able to drive. Ok that's my moment of being freaked out. Dh said he would clean the house before they get here but I'm thinking when would he have time with his 2 jobs? Maybe I should call a housekeeping service am I over-reacting I've known his mom since 1994 but still it's his family. Yes my clinic is 3 hours away also so I would have to get someone to make that commute with me.

Tawny- I couldn't take my eyes off the staff during my transfer over Halloween the girls were in costumes dressed as nerds, tthat was so much fun. When I got all prep, dh walked in and chatted while we waited for the dh...I told him I was getting very sleepy but forced myself to stay awake but then I couldn't stop crying and the nurse walked in asking me if I was ok just nervous? I couldn't say anything much without breaking down. She brought me warm blankets and tucked me in as dh held my hand. Those socks (they gave me) I ended up leaving behind because everything about them reminded me of my d&c.

AFM: OK I saved the best news for last...we got 16 eggs!!!!! Much earlier when my IVF coordinator dropped by we found out 8 follicles were bigger then 15mm and I looked disappointed I know and she said Christy all we need to work with is really 4 good ones. She told me though they would retrieve as many as possible, big or small. I was put to sleep, didn't feel a thing.

I found out they more commonly perform 3 day transfers whether then five days. (Pocos are you reading this?) I was puzzled because my previous clinic believed in blastcyst, so I had to ask for her explanation! She said if you look at the clinic's overall success rate the ones who do the 3day transfer have a higher likelihood of not being cancelled and successfully making it. Hence the embryos that looking good but not excellent have a better chance of making it. She said we'll watch them very closely and we consider a good embryo to have 8 cells. She said more studies have shown transfers being cancelled with 5day embryos becasue they may not make it that far, she said for this reason they have more 3 day transfers at this clinic and this has given them a higher success rate with women over 35. Right or wrong (I know it's controversial) I'm just going with the flow. I did find out for the remaining embryos they stay in the lab until blastocyst happens before freezing them. I guess they would be more vulnerable to freeze on day3? That will be a question I ask later on for sure with my RE's visit. I should of asked that question but part of me is still focussed on the quality while the other part is leaning on quanity but it wouldn't matter if the quality isn't good nothing else would matter. In the big picture we have 5 more chances so I shouldn't throw in the towel just yet, at least the hard part is over with for now. They will call me on Friday with embryo update giving them 36 hours.

Took medrol, and I ate an orange and it really helped with the bitter taste from the tablets, instructed to take 12 for 4 nights. Tomorrow I start PIO and I need everyone's advice on that, because I will be tempting to give them to myself I will text my nurse in the morning to check on the dosage, I think she thought I was on the suppositories so never gave me instructions but I will call in the morning. Scared of the size of the gauge that must be changed to something smaller, I only hope I can do this if not I will check into the nearest walk-in clinic and let them since dh is so tired of me being fussy over these shots. I got so upset the other night because the gonal-f hit a vein. So glad to be done with that for now.
He arranged for his parents to come down on Friday night, but then they might wait and come Sunday night IF the clinic changes their mind for a 5 day transfer. His mom said just tell me what I need to do and you rest. I offered to meet them at the clinic and have one of them drive my car back but they don't want me driving to Alabama by myself. (I did it twice last week.) So then they would have to get up at the crack of dawn to take me to Mobile, a 3 hr commute. I much rather leave on Friday night and then she said well we could treat you to a hotel. Why does this have to seem so weird, maybe because it is! ok enough about that, where is everyone hiding? How was your Halloween/party/marathon? Annabelle and her mom were my only trick-or-treaters tonight, she dressed up as Alfred Hitchcock, Absolutely loved it!

Christy- Yah for such a awesome egg retrieval :) I am sur eyour Clinic knows what is best between a 3day vs 5day I think every clinic has its own opinion on it Just Trust God to take full control :) As for the PIO shot I couldnt give them to myself it was to hard to reach the area that needed to be injected... Do you have a close by friend that could help you with them? Also You can do them in your thigh I believe which would be a better area for you to do them yourself, I just dont know how they feel there since i did it in my butt /back area.... Im sure it will all work out :) ask the nurse to mark the area's you can do with a marker that is what i did :) Also ask the different spots you can do them so you can try different spots to see what works best for you :) Good luck I am praying for your BFP :)
