What are you lot like  leave you a few hours and what do I get ? All this - don't worry honeys the pains are growing pains and Caz the embie could be anywhere - more likely where you said but the extra if you like is the uterus which is already growing towards grapefruit size - lovely. These pains in the side will carry on a while and then you just get pains everywhere - what excitement to come.
Please do think about a doppler before you all rush out - they can be counter productive so just think that's all I ask! The baby can be in a strange place and even the most experienced midwife can't get a heartbeat if they are back to you - it really is difficult - I went the other day and the babies are well over 3lbe ach now and shuffling and she still had a mare getting a hearbeat as the back was to us but we could see her moving. AT this stage it is very hard to get and I know I would be a mare if I did not hear one and drive everyone up the wall - just a thought not telling you off you understand!

As for me off to cook DH something now and then admire my tan!
Love to all
Tracey

Hello

Thanks for all the advice on nausea cures. I haven't been sick and don't think I will be but I am putting Lucozade on top of my Tesco's list. I amy also invest in some of those bands.

It's a weird thing being pregnant. Having thought I would die yesterday, I have felt OK today. Had a bit of nausea at lunchtime but felt OK other than that. Weird, weird, weird.

I'm with the Voice of Reason on the doppler. I think I would use it constantly and it would freak me out. As TS says, experienced midwives often can't find the heartbeat let alone us amateurs.

Haven't had much in the way of pains recently but from what I remember it's all normal and sharp pains are nothing to worry about.

Had to buy some more clothes today. With my protruding stomach, I am in between sizes so I bought both in the hope that my stomach might shrink when I go swimming tomorrow. Xeah right!

Long story about my mother but she is fairly disapproving of my whole situation and didn't speak to me for 6 months last year. She will think I'm too old, too insecure (cos we're not married) and it will damage our respective children. As if we haven't thought of any of this!!

Off to Switzerland tomorrow for the weekend to watch DP's daughter in a ballet show. Very hot over there so I will go nice and pink. Just hope the plane doesn't make me feel too nauseous.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Love Fiona

I suddenly realised I forgot to say a big thank you to Tracey for putting me straight on dates. Thanks :) My friend has just given me a book on pregnancy. It has a chart of due dates and you were spot on.

I'm so tired I am going to bed. Good night all and I hope you don't have to many cramps, stabbing pains and trip to the loo tonight!! The joys of finally being pregnant. 8)

You will never be forgotten about Tracey! Your advis is invaluable. I could do with some reassurance now!

This morning I had a bit of browny discharge (quite stringy/mucusy - sorry tmi I know). Anyway when I spoke to the nurse she asked me to go in for a blood test. I don't get the results until tomorrow as it was late in afternoon. She went through and said there are many possibilities. Because I have had cramps on my left side (which I have had since EC) she wanted to double check things. It could be an ectopic/ one ectopic and one in womb or I have lost one but the other is hanging on or it all could be ok and the endometriosis has caused the blood. I spent a lot of time on the phone to my mum crying but am ok now. Why is it we jump one hurdle to be faced with another?

Anyway the nurse just called me and said to come in for a scan tomorrow morning if I'm worried. She stressed they won't be able to see a heartbeat at this stage but at least they can confirm the embryo/s are in the womb. So I try and get through tonight and see what tomorrow brings. Sorry to be negative on this thread but I know you guys have probably heard it all before. I thought with a first hcg reading of 485 that it wouldn't be an ectopic. Can the embryo unattach and travel to the tube? Or could you get that high a reading from an ectopic?

Have two tickets to Harry Potter tonight to keep DH and I occupied.
Hope all other mums to be are not as stressed as me today.

Best wishes to you all.

Oh Shellie - how awful and worrying - your HCG was very good so don't imagine it's ectopic - they do tend to be lower as not in the right place. Dishcharge and blood can be so many different things as you know. I would hazard a strong guess that as it is stringy and brown it is old blood from the womb somewhere and therefore not actually related to the baby at all.You have no other indicator to say you have lost one and by your stage you should be knowing about an ectopic - trust me they hurt like hell. The twinges are either stretchy pains for ovary pains but they have never sounded like they have had you on the floor in agony and you don't mention any blood or clots - just these stringy things.
Go to HP - haven't got there myself yet :( and see what the blood test says tomorrow and what they advise - if the bloods come back ok and they are increasing as they wish I would put it down to one of those things - if the bloods aren't doing what they should then I would advise going in for a scan if only to confirm what is where.
Thinking of you...........
Love

Thanks Tracey, been out for dinner and logged on for a quick question before seeing HP. I have to wait til tomorrow for the blood results but I am going in for the scan tomorrow morning. This may be a stupid question but would it be an internal scan or external? Should I be drinking water before I go? I am such an ameteur at this.

Thanks for replying, don't know what I'd do without the board. I think I have calmed down a little bit now. There hasn't been any more blood and it was brown and stringy so I don't think it could be anything bad. As you say some girls have full on bled and been ok. I haven't been in agony and at 6 weeks if it was ectopic I should know about it. If I keep repeating this paragraph I will begin to believe it.....

Have a good friday night, I'll let you know if HP was worth watching. I have read all the books and enjoyed them so I should enjoy the film.

Shellie it will be an internal scan as my 7wk and 9 wk scan were,I really hope everything goes ok tomorrow which I know it will as my clinic said as long as its brown blood an dyou've got no pain its nothing to worry about, and as Tracey has said you would know if it was ecpotic, enjoy the film and let us know tomorrow how it goes an dhow many you can see as your levels were high so it might be twins!!
I'm feeling alot better today I havent phoned Jessops as i 've been ok today and I will believe you guys and the midwife and as dh has sai dtodya we are going to have to stop being silly and relax as I will be getting pains as hopefully the baby is growing we have both said we will relax abit better after our scan and appointment at our local hosp on 30th June,in the letter they have sent me it say sif I've had a dating scan then I wont have one on our appointment but surely we will as our scans have been at Jessops and not at our local hosp and the midwife isnt conviced with my dates and keeps saying we will see what the consulant say swhen he scans you so if I say the midwife wants me scaned as well they should surely scan me as we havent had one since 9 weeks and I will be 13 weeks when we go an dwe would like to see our baby again an dsee how it as grown,so they should scan us shouldnt they?
Hope everyone as a good weekend

Thanks so much Gem. I needed that reassurance. Harry Potter was great. I'm not as worried as I was today. Will let you know what happens.

I'd tell them when you have your hospital visit that you want a scan. I'd be adament about it.

Thanks again, I'm going to bed now.

It is all very quiet on here this morning.
Just thought I'd let you know that I got my results from the bloods and my hcg is 24,000. They did the scan and I have two sacs with yolks!! Oh my god - TWINS!!!!!! :) :o

The doctor said the brown discharge would be from the embryos continuing to embedding. This could continue until 12 weeks. Nothing to worry about. I can't tell you how relieved we are. Yesterday was 24 hours from hell.

Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend. I know we will now.

Hi Shellie,
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Fantastic! great news - doubly so! I'm so pleased for you and your tww sacs!

Gem - I'm going for what they call an integrated scan ie normal scan, etc, plus blood test at 12 weeks and another at 15/16 weeks, checking for Downs and trisomy 18 (spina bifida?). I won't have anything else, because don't want anything invasive - it wouldn't change anything if it came back positive, so why run the risk?
That's of course only little old me, but DH and I discussed it (really quickly, because we both feel exactly the same).

Anyway, my tummy is growing and it's increasingly difficult to hid it at work especially as most of my clothes are quite figure-hugging. Well, only 10 more days to go until the 12-week scan, so counting down and if it goes well, I'll tell work and anyone who's prepared to listen that I'm pg...! So exciting!
Symptoms keep coming and going, but am trying not to worry about that, as long as my tummy stays at it is.....and I seem to be over-sensitive to smell - makes me reth in no time...!
Enough of such lovely thoughts - have a great weekend everyone!
Good luck and happy pregnancies!
