Hey everyone.

Thanks so much for your kind words. However, I have to admit to myself that it's time to turn the little positive into a negative. Unfortunately I think my little embie decided it didn't want to stay. I have done two more HPT and they were negative this time, not even the faint positive. I just 'know' that it hasn't worked. I'm going to ring the docs this morning and ask to go in today for the blood test rather than wait until Friday. Then hopefully I can come off the progesterone tonight once it's confirmed and have my period and start to move on.

I think sometimes having IVF we know 'too much'. If this was a natural pregnancy my period would have been a couple of days late and that would have been it and I wouldn't have known about it.

Trying to do my grieving this week whilst I'm off work, getting myself strong for Monday so I don't blub in front of everyone. It just seems so cruel to have a glimmer of hope then have it taken away from you.
Going to have Christmas and January off, going to throw away those calendars and DH and I are just going to enjoy ourselves. Thinking of having the FET in February.

Lots of love to you all, especially Mel P. You know there's a saying - 'a woman is like a tea bag. You only find out how strong she when you put her in hot water.' You may not think you're brave, but you will find the strength from somewhere to get up every day. And each day it will be less painful, as the pain becomes replaced with hope again.
Good luck sweetie. When are you planning to try again, or are you not thinking that far in advance? PM me if you want.

PMA to all.
Bec

Bec

I'm so sorry about your news. You take care of yourself and take as much time as you need.

I shall keep my fingers crossed that your hospital do let you have the test today so that you can have closure today, rather than having to wait another 24 hours.

Take care and big hugs

Little P

Bec - I haven't spoken to you before but I have been following your story - I am so sorry to hear about how things have taken a turn for the worse.

MLG - RE: Progresterone shots - I was curious about that myself and asked my doctors why we had to get them in the backside with such LARGE needles. They told me that according to their research that is the most effective method to get the pregesterone into the system. I also asked about the vaginal inserts and they said that they were not convinced as yet that it was as or more effective than the shots. I hope they get convinced soon as it seems as if many people are using them!

As this is my first go around, I am nervous as anything! I had lots more aches, pains, soreness the first week or so but now ... nothing. I know that may or may not mean anything but it would feel more reassuring to feel something!

To everyone testing today and this weekend - I wish you all the best and lots of happy smiles for you.

Bec- Sending warm thoughts your way. Reading your note about the tea bag I realized how true it is that we don't know how strong we are until we're faced with doing something we don't think we can...and then being able to do it. Know in your heart that you're a strong and brave person and will make it through!

Good Luck to all those testing today- and PMA for everyone else still waiting.

Well I've just had my second lot of bloods back and my HCG levels had dropped. I was right. Going to wallow in a bit of self pity over the weekend and then pick myself up. And I'm going to have FUN in January. I've just booked tickets to go and see Melinda Messenger in panto with DH - now if that ain't fun, I don't know what is!
Thanks for all of your kind thoughts. It's really helped.
Good Luck to all of those waiting to test this month. I might take a few weeks off from this website and concentrate on non-fertility things, but you'll see me back in the new year!

Sadly, I have to join the negative group. Just got the call, although I knew already from home testing.Man, this is a lot to go through for nothing and I admire everyone so much for taking it in stride. Having been through this before, and having a daughter to show for it, one thing I can say is that I know intellectually that however long it takes when the postive ultimately arrives, it makes all this pain feel like a very distant memory. That's a promise, though it's not so easy to feel better even knowing it.

I have to decide if I want to take some time off or start right in again. Taking time off means enjoying the holidays. Starting up again means hopefully putting this part of my life behind me sooner. THoughts? Either way, tonight I plan to go out and drink a pitcher of sangria while I wait to get my period. My body feels like it's gonna explode from being repressed like this.

Thanks so much to everyone, and good luck to those still waiting. Gel

Oh Gel I am sad to hear your news, I don't think anyone can make such a big decision for you regarding next treatment but give yourself a few days/ weeks and maybe it will become clearer to you what your next move is. Enjoy the largest pitcher of sangria you can find and give your daughter a huge hug xx
