Mel: bellini is gorgeous! Hope you have fun breaking her in:)

Jenn: wow. grape soda is NOT your friend! Sounds like a mess you had there!

Patie: hope you find time to relax and take it easy at some point

Angie: hope you are enjoying your sunny weather. Hang in there.

Mego: Wow! 30 weeks! Glad to hear sweet pea is doing well and growing like a champ. I don't blame you... losing 2 lb is a big accomplishment, especially if you are eating well.

We are out of town with inlaws (116'F-- around 47'C at home today, and I am basking in a cool 72' right now! Ahhhh, to be out of Vegas in the summer!). Went to visit my cousin a few days ago who has a newborn. And you know what? No envy. No jealousy. Nothing but happiness for her. Cool, huh? I think I have finally arrived (at least temporarily). I spent months in a depression that i believe is a normal part of the stages of grief. But i seem to be emerging with less self-pity and more peace. Go figure.

Happy 4th to all the american sistas!

Hey Everyone! I hope my fellow American Sista’s had some fun yesterday, I felt justified in my 4th of July – I went for a bike ride to the grocery store with DH – made baked potato-potato salad, ate Apple Pie, pet a goat, pet a horse, ate a hot dog and watched some fire works, it was a perfect personification of an American Holiday, complete with vegetating for a weeee bit, and waiting for the rain to stop! We also had a nice day with Bellini – she had an accident free day yesterday (I hope the first of many, but I am not to optimistic about that, she is only 8 weeks old today!)

Sassy – Can I ask how it came to be that you got married on your birthday day? As a wedding planner, I am always intrigued as to why couples choose the date they do! Oh! And Happy Belated Birthday and Happy belated Anniversary!!! I am proud of your revelation! I think that is a definite positive in the way of emerging through the grieve! I can’t wait to see the pictures of your Ugly Toe! I’d like to think of myself as the President and Founder of the Ugly Toe Society – then I Can say proudly “I am not only the president, I am also a victim”

Mego! Gosh, 30 weeks! I am so excited for you! I totally know what you mean about the smell of puppies, she has the sweetest smell, E.V.E.R! And that puppy breath is the best! She’s been so good! I hope that doesn’t mean that she’ll make up for lost time in the next few weeks! I am so glad that your visit went well and that SweetPea is doing well!!!! And Huzzah! For loosing 2 pounds!

Jenn- I am so, so, so sorry about the Grape Soda incident! I hope you finally got I all cleaned up, what a mess! You poor thing!

Patie – I am on top of taking care of the Graphic Designer! So don’t mind me, I am off to take care of business, if you know what I mean *wink* wink* nudge* nudge*, I’ll kick his arse up and down the block!

Ange- I am glad Bellini brought a smile to your face – I hate that all of this is happening to you, well all of the sista’s – but it just sucks, that life has to move on without us sometimes… and this whole IVF crap, well, sucks sometimes! But you know we are here for you, at whatever pace you are moving at! Right? Right!

Robbo – Isn’t she adorable! I hope the elliptical is still kicking your ass! It’s good for you! So keep it up! Oh! And Bellini has been great preparation for mommy-hood! She’s up at 4AM everyone morning, to pee and poop, and then again at 6AM…. So needless to say, I am at work earlier than normal! I need to loose about 15 -20lbs too! We bought new bikes last week, so I am biking, and I have a friend I am going to be playing tennis with when it’s not pouring down rain like it has been doing… and my Dr. prescribed Yoga, so I have to do that too… so I guess I have no choice. We can do it together!

Back Diagnosis- I have a herniated disc of my L-5, S-1 disc – they have put me on Physical Therapy, and a regimented and prescribed Yoga – and then when my core is strengthened I can do Pilates, but not for a while. I am also on Medication to manage the pain – and they want to do spinal injections as well (A cortisone based epidural) – I am going to do the PT first with the Yoga, and build my resistance up and see if I can strengthen my core with out the injections and then wait about 2 months, then do them if I need them.

Bellini Update:

Whiskey is not happy at all with his new little sister, he is just a Mr. Grumpypants! He isn’t snapping at her unless she “attacks” him, and by attack, I mean walks up to him. And she seems to know to leave Sponge-Bob-Grumpy-Pants alone, but still he’s not being nice at all. And honestly, I knew getting a puppy was work, and I’m not bothered by the work involved, but I wasn’t expecting to have to force separate them, and worry about where Whiskey is all of the time, because he could “snap” at her at any moment… so that’s a problem. I have some anxiety medication left from Bailey (our dog that passed away a little more than a year ago) – I’ll ask the vet about giving that to Mr. Grumpypants!

So that my story Morning Glory!

Happy Thursday!

XXOO!

Mel

Hello girls - just a quick fly by - promise I will write more over the weekend. Mel - I like the style of that article - how it is written. The writer sounds sensible, practical, realistic but not bitter. I totally get her - I am not sure if DH and I are ready to go down the adoption path or not - but I get her.

Sassy - so pleased that you were OK seeing the newborn too. We are surviving, sistas!

Hi to everyone and have a good w/e. Friday pm and still have lots to do - then we going out to a bar with friends! Hooray!

Hi Ladies, How are you all. Patie - sounds so hot where you are - it is horrible here in Melbourne - cold and WET WET WET! I am happy to be home in the warm.

Mel - I hope you enjoy your yoga - I love it - do it every Sunday morning. Some poses are supposed to be good for fertility - must remember to research them some day! Sassy - how are you enjoying your yoga too?

Preggo Meggo, Fee and Jenn - hope you are well and blooming. Don't be scared to give us updates - we want to be inspired by our sistas.

Hi Robbo and Vicky - hope your week was OK after our horrible end of the week last week.

Here's my update/plan sistas.

F/up appointment next week with Dr D. NOt much point - will see if he has anything more helpful to say than "it's just a numbers game."
The appointment with PCO dr at the clinic (female) in August and hopefully she can take us on for our next cycle and Dr D will be dumped forever.
Meanwhile I am going to take Chinese herbs ( probably crazy but I did some research on the boards and got some helpful feedback from some of the girls). If nothing else, may help regulate my cycle (it 's a case of WHAT cycle at the moment).
Need to take herbs without IVF Drugs for 3 mths - perfect timing as going to USA/Canada for whole of september for work plus a bit of a holiday. DH is coming too for some of it. Yipeee! New York and shopping here I come!.
Then back on the merry go round of IVF in October (fresh cyle)- with a probable result around Christmas and that's another year gone.

So feeing Ok - have plenty to keep my mind off things. Oh Sassy - I am booking a mini SWDGPT (since we didn't get preggo trip!) - a couple of nights ski-ing . Figured we deserved it and the mountains have lots of snow at the moment .

Sorry it's all about me me me! Just have one other thing to share with the sistas. As you know we are gettting quotes and stuff for our new house - why does everyone assume you have or will have kids. Kitchen people talk about hardwearing cupboards which will take toys bashing them, today the wardrobe man talked space in the drawers for childrens clothes, bathroom people talk about the type of bath you need to bathe your kids.... and so it goes on.

Kind of annoying that these assumptions are made. I guess I'm probably still a bit sensitive.

So have great weekends everyone - hope you all had a great 4th July over in USA - is it just one day or do you have longer holidays?

Well it's Saturday at 8:30AM and guess where I am, WORK! ACK! And it's the freakin' luckiest day of the gosh darned year... 07/07/07 - you'd think I'd have a wedding to work, but Nooooooo..... I am suck teaching a stoopid insurance class for my husband, because he is Golfing! (I whine half sarcastically....) DH deserves to be golfing he's been putting in 18 hour days for about a month working 7 days a week... so I am doing the nice wifely duties and taking a bit on for him.

So the friends of mine that had that horrible incident with the sperm that thawed and whatever, came over for dinner last night, and she is BURSTING - it was nice to talk with her about IVF and she dropped off her extra drugs and needles, that was super sweet! She is being induced on Wednesday - it was a really nice dinner, and of course, like DH would say, I totally went over-board, I just can't help myself, I love to entertain!

Patie- I am sorry it's so hot there, but it's really hot here too! It's been almost 100 degrees, and raining and sticky and ICK! So I totally understand! I am sure Vicky can agree... speaking of, where is our resident Argentine? OH and don't worry about the back, i am still taking down the Graphic Designer! First thing tomorrow AM! Consider it done!

Angie - Love your plan! Love it!!! And don't think about it as another year gone, please! Think about it as time for you and your DH to enjoy one another and do what you need to do to your body to prepare for the future, whatever it might hold! PMA! PMA! PMA!

Where is everyone- I don't know that I have that many dogs?

Love to you all!

Hugs and Kisses!

Mel

PS- Teeny Weeny Bellini is doing great, she had her 8 weeks vet appointment yesterday and she is a whoping 5.8lbs, and has a UTI so she is on Amoxi, and they said her ears were clean as a whistle but they saw some white dots in there, so they put her on some drops... but other than that, healthy as a horse (a very widdle horse)

Melissa: Glad to hear T.W. Bellini is healthy... well.... besides the whole UTI and ear thing. Only 5.8lb... that truly is teeny weeny! . Cool that your friend had extra meds and needles... something every self-respecting IVF woman could use more of! Quite the wife you are.. but it does sound like your dh has been through the ringer... bravo for giving him a break. Hoping you get to enjoy the rest of the w/e at least!

Patie: Oh yes, it is very hot at home... but luckily we don't have the humidity (yours is at 80%? ). It is very dry in Vegas, that is our saving grace. Happy 5th Anniversary!!!

Angie: ooooo, yoga is fab!!! I did it off and on for a year (just with a video), but I am now doing it 4-5 days a week. I love it! I do "power yoga" most of the time so I get some cardio. And it is much better in the classes (versus the video). Plus, I found a great teacher at my gym so now I follow him around town 3 days a week. Such a groupie  Your plan sounds fantastic. I am excited for you. I will be interested to hear how the herbs go. Also... BRAVO on the SWDGPT! You bloody well deserve it.

Had a fab time in California.... now back to the heat today. Despite the heat, I am looking forward to being home. Now that I have emerged from my depression, I have projects that I want to get done  . First on the list will be washing the windows... ooooo, an exciting life I lead, no? Actually, I am also planning on getting a garden planted and scanning in a collection of newspaper articles, pictures and other memorabilia of my globe-hopping grandmother (who died at the age of 96 10 years ago) so that I can preserve them on DVDs. Lots to do... and only a month ( ) before I start stimming again.

Hope the rest of the sistas are well!

Hey girls- Just a quick post, glad to see everyone is doing well.

Mel- don't work too hard!! Glad puppy is doing well. Mine stinks and is about to go get groomed. Which she HATES!!

Angie- I'm liking the plan. Good luck, hope the new Doc. can help you! I'm interested to see how the herbs help you, I too was always looking for something new. It can't hurt to try!

Feeling really tired and queasy today. Have loads of laundry to do. We just got back in town and are turning around Thursday to go back out of town again. Spent this weekend with out-laws. Not pretty and resulted in a minor crying breakdown at the local wal-mart. Had headache that wouldn't quit, which I'm positive was caused by the out-laws! And it is so hot in their house I thought I would die, which is how we ended up buying a fan at wal-mart. I felt spoiled for needing it and cried about it at the check out. Hormones, what are ya gonna do?? Dh was great about it though. gotta go nap in between laundry loads...

Later!
Jenn

Oh Jenn, those first trimester hormones are crazy. I'd like to tell you it gets better but I've pretty much cried throughout this whole pregnancy. I've found that if I get hungry, I get weepy so I try to stay fed! And at times it's like you can't figure out why you're crying, but you just can't stop. Seriously, it's like an out of body experience. You see yourself acting like a fool, but can't do anything about it! Just pamper yourself--lots of naps, lots of fans

Patie--I'm going to go take a look at your pics as soon as I have a second--thanks for posting them!

Well, back to work! I'm really getting sick of this job thing! (Only 2 more months....)

"...and so you're back
from outer space
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second
you'd be back to bother me..."

So I just wanted to check in. I know I left abruptly. I just needed space from the whole world and I didn't mean to leave all the sisters so suddenly - the depression made me do it. I will let you know that I spent the morning catching up on everyone and learning of some new members... so I should be pretty up to date.

During my sabbatical I did come to terms with some things and it lead me down a short path of peace and tranquility. During this time my husband (new thing I am starting - will only refer to him as DH if he deserves the "dear" title) Don't get me wrong, he is a nice guy and I love him, but not always "dear".... so he and I came to terms and decided to do one more. He was always so distant about the whole cycle and I always felt so alone in it. I literally only needed one thing from him during it... and we all know what that is. But we became closer during these last few months with no obsessive baby making on the brain and he became much more supportive of trying one more time. I started my lupron and of course already have the lupron headache, but so missed the world of needles and having more drugs in my fridge than food. What I couldn't be without was the support of the sisterhood during my secret cycle. Only a few people know and it is only because of inopportune phone calls whilst in a small car... no hiding the topic then. I have sworn those that are privy to secrecy and came to terms with the fact that I need my sisters... even though I left them while searching for inner peace... I know you will all understand my dilemma. Do you all forgive me?

The runaway sister,

Amy
