Karen - doesn't it seem like when you are pregnant, or trying to get pregnant, everyone has the answeres for you? I'm referring to the situation w/ your MIL. I often find when I bring an issue up to certain people, all I get in return is there 2 cents rather than compassion or understanding. Thats just how some people are.

As for me...I am somewhat better today - at least the fever has subsided. I had some red spotting yesterday which of course freaked me out, so I am also taking today off from work to rest. I have my second beta b/w this morning so I'm hoping for a good number to put my mind at ease.

Hi Ladies,

Well I had ET and had three put back in yesterday. I am a little nervous because the doctor said they are lagging a little behind but that it doesnt mean anything. I asked how they looked and he said they looked good just a little behind. That was all I could get out of him. They are keeping my other eggs until today to see how they go then decide how many, if any, they can freeze. Out of 20 I would hope some would freeze. I am just a little freaked out right now. Now the horrible wait until 12/23 to find out! I keep trying to tell myself that if it doesnt work I wont be losing anything, I will still be happy with my DH, but boy would we be super happy if one or more took.

Karen Sorry your MIL is so insensitive. Many years ago i was married to someone else (i got divorced in 1994 so it was another lifetime) and my MIL was a real nasty peice so i can understand. Its very hard to bite your tongue when they are so clearly out of order!!!! I know you want to tear your hair out!!!! (will send you some hair by Fed Ex if it gets worse...)

JDC Glad you are well again and your beta number shows your little embie was not at all upset by your illness!!! Hooray!!

Waiting for 4 I have heard about the pineapple and last cycle i did eat a lot, especially the core, but i decided to skip it this time as i'm not a huge fan (it seems to hurt my teeth???) and for me it didnt work, but i have heard good things about it and i'm happy it worked for you :D

Pixel Thanks for remembering me in your prayers. You must be getting very excited/nervous about your beta!!! I am also going to stay away from HPT's this time. All the negs just depressed and upset me last time, and it wasnt as though it even prepared me for the bad news as i still burst into tears when i got the phone call even though i knew. I agree we should enjoy our Pregnant till proven otherwise status and then when the time comes we can either grieve or be on cloud 9!!!!! I'm also praying for you to be blessed X

Foreverlove COngrats also on the ET!! I think i'm remembering right that you had blasts put back??? I love the idea of 5 day transfer, as at least you know your little one made it that far and 3 wil give you a great chance. I'm sorry they looked a little 'slow' but they have mde it this far and the uterus is the best place for them now. One of my 'leftover' embies arrested yesterday which is sad because it does make you wonder, but the more you put back the better the odds. I know that only 60% of 3 days make it to day 5, so i figured putting 4 back hopefully by tomorrow (when they will be blast stage) statistically i should have 2 left to potentialy implant. It seems you have 3 that can potentially implant today!!! Lets keep each other sane, i'm already rambling and loosing it!!!!

As for me, i posted a question as some of you may have seeen, as my RE thinks that having sex today and tomorrow will HELP implantation. I am freaked out by the concept as i have only ever heard a BIG no when it comes to this subject. Apparantly something in semen actually encourages implantation and makes it easier for the embies to implant...

So the question is should i or shouldnt i????? My RE is positive it increases pregnancy rates, i am scared my floating pre-implantation embies will get 'washed out' from the semen.... input apreciated

JDC - congrats on your BFP! That's awesome!!

kke - congrats on twins! Excellent!

foreverlove - great ER & fertilization rate!

karen, wonderce, mary - thanks for your insight into the m/s that I'm just now starting to get!

lady_j - so sorry to hear about your BFN. Our thoughts are with you as you move towards your next cycle.

waitingfor4 - PIO shots can vary in time. They like it to be around the same time but I actually changed mine over the course of about 3 days from morning to night skipping about 4 hours each day. I think it's just so you remember it that they want it about the same time.

As for me, I'm at 7w4d and m/s just crept in this week. Actually this morning was not as bad maybe because I am working from home and I got some more sleep. Who knows? Anyway, just wanted to check in with all of you and hope you are all doing well!

Kas101 - I think it would be great for us to keep each other company. This was actually a fresh cycle for me - this is the first time I am doing IVF and it scares me because we had to pay for everything out of pocket and if we dont have frozen ones I wont be trying again if it doesnt work. It is strange because in my mind they are already my three little babies, I am secretly hoping they all take, although my Husband said he would rather just two take. I just have to put everything in gods hands and see what happens - easier said then done. I luckily have a pretty full schedule this week and weekend so at least one of my weeks will go fast for me.

kas - regarding the question on sex... to have or have not. my RE told me to wait until after the Beta for sex but my friend was told to have sex and she said they did it and it was the worst sex of her life! i think she used the words "horrible!" cause of all that was going on physically and emotionally and the timing of it all so if you do it - make sure that you and DH keep your sense of humor about it. i think at this point, sex has sort of turned from intimate to baby-making for a lot of us going through this process so it's probably not going to be too much of a stretch.

karen as far as MIL goes I love mine dearly but (a) she used to bug me about being a different religion than DH and would always take jabs and finally I just had to tell her I don't appreciate her comments anymore, and (b) it's like Everybody Loves Raymond in my house because we're only 2 or 3 blocks from my inlaws so they were coming over unannounced at one point like 4 times a day. Just walking right in if the door was unlocked.
And you will not believe this... one time we didn't answer the door so MIL walked over to our bedroom window and peeked in and was like "Yoohoo, you didn't answer the door." I looked at DH and was like "get your mother out of here. She's out of control" then I called her later and said "we love having you guys living so close but we need our privacy so please stop coming by so often." It quite offended her and she didnt' come by for months THANK GOD and later told me "I broke her heart by saying that" but I'm like grow up, you peeked in our G-damn window for god sake. If we didn't answer the door don't you think we had a good reason?

Well good luck with your MIL. Just be glad her visit is over for now. You survived! :)

not hopeless yet - That is so halarious visualizing your MIL peeking in your windows. Gosh do some people just not think? Good for you for telling her off. My friends MIL came over my friends house and rearranged the furniture. My friend didn't say anything to MIL and her DH is a momma's boy so of course he didn't say anything. That would just drive me nuts.

PixelGirl - GOOD LUCK ON YOUR BETA TOMORROW.

Kas and forever - Welcome to the 2ww. don't go too insane.

JDC - That is an awesome beta!!! YEAH!!! Glad you are feeling better. I was down and out yesterday. Had some stomach bug, I am much better now.

Karen - Sorry your MIL rubs you the wrong way. My MIL and FIL are cool but are different. I love them to death because they don't bug us about this and that and try to but in our lives. Hope your M/S goes away. That is my worst fear is to do all this to get PG and then be sick the whole 9 months.

detroit2007 - glad your FET went well. I have also heard that FET's can be better because our bodies arn't drugged up so much with the FET. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Well, my final for school was done today. i only needed to get a 50% to bet a B in the class so I really wasn't stressing over the final. Plus, I didn't feel good last night so I didn't get hardly any studying done.
I got all my paperwork from my previous RE. Kind of interesting stuff that I have a lot of questions about. I should have had a follow up after my BFN but I hate going to the RE and a follow up was never really offered so I didn't. Found out they didn't retrieve any eggs from my right ovary. Don't know why. You would think they would have mentioned this to me after ER. UGGHHHHH!!! Also found out that my day 3 E2 levels are good. YEAH!!!! i was thinking that my E2 levels was my problem and it doesn't look like that. I guess my body just doesn't suppress the way they want it to. O'well, i will find out more tomorrow.

Hello everyone. I haven't posted any messages in a while but I have been trying to keep up with everyone. I am going to do some personals, but I am sure that I will probably leave some people out, not intentionally though. There are just so many posts and right now I'm not feeling so well so I just looked back at the last couple of days.

Karen I am sorry to hear that your MIL is getting on your nerves. If possible you may just have to overlook her and her comments. Maybe that's not the right thing for me to say, but you don't need anyone getting to you like that. Other than that I hope you're doing ok and I hope that m/s is not doing you too bad.

pixiegirlI pray that you get your BFP. I know you may be having negative thoughts but try to keep the faith.

KasI don't know about having sex just yet. Although, I've read online that some dr say that it helps, my RE told me not to have sex until after my 1st beta. This may be TMI but she even said not to have an orgasm. But I guess you just have to use your best judgement.

Robin Sorry to heart that you're having m/s. I really hope it gets better for you.

foreverlove GL on your 2ww! I pray that your 3 embies stick and that you get your BFP! :D

JDC Congrats on your 2nd beta! :D Great numbers and I hope that they continue to rise. Glad to see that you're feeling a little better.

waiting for 4 I hope that all is well. Hang in there, you're fine and the 15th will be here before you know it.

to_have_fun08 Glad you did get your papers faxed from your previous clinic and I wish you the best with the new RE.

detroit2007 Congrats on FET. I hope you get your BFP.

gina1234 Hello and thanks for asking about me. I'm doing ok. I know you can't wait until your u/s. Will this be your 1st one? I hope you get your wish and see 2! :D

JennJenn I hope and pray that everything works out for you. Like your DH said have faith, although I know sometimes that's hard to do. I hope everything will go as you want and that your cycle doesn't get canceled.

As for me, I don't just have m/s, I have all day sickness and boy is it tough! :( I really started having it last week but it intesified over the weekend. The only things that really helps me stop feeling so queasy are McDonalds fries (I know they aren't good for me) and a grilled cheese sandwich. Sometimes fruit helps as well but crackers and ginger ale doesn't help at all. On top of that, on Monday my primary care dr said I had an upper respiratory infection so I have been coughing, sneezing and blowing my nose like crazy. On a good note, I had my u/s on yesterday and I saw my little one. I was so nervous before the u/s and my RE knew it b/c I wasn't saying much, but once I saw my sweet pea on the monitor, I was all smiles. The hrtbt was 126 & I think it measured a 2.1 but I'm not sure and I was 6 wks as of yesterday. I was hoping at least 2 would be there since we put 3 back but I am completely satisfied with 1 little MIRACLE!

For the ladies that I didn't do a personal on I hope that you're doing well. I know someone just found out they're having twins and I'm sorry I can't remember who but I do want to say CONGRATS & CONGRATS to those that got BFPs! I'm sorry for those that have gotten a BFN and I hope and pray that you're doing ok. There are a few ladies that we haven't heard from in a while, Grateful, Adject, sloan88 and a few others but I hope that all is well with everyone!

Karen, sorry to hear that your MIL is making you upset. If you don't plan to respond, don't even think about it.
JDC, happy to hear you are getting better. congrats on your 2nd beta.
Foreverlove, wishing you a BFP!!. I'm with you in 2ww.
Waitingfor4 and Kas101, i heard different on pinapple from my mom. She advised me to avoid pinapple and papaya both. In her opinion, these 2 fruits caused problems for her known people.
But may be it will work for some people.
Kas, about sex, my RE told to refrain from sex alteast a week, and if possible till beta. We decided not to do.
gina, good luck with your u/s
pixel girl, praying for a BFP!!!
Wishing _4blessings. Congrats with your u/s!!.

With me , I had my b/w today, nurse called me with an estrogen & prog 192&14. She told that looks good. So I want to continue my prog until beta 12/18.
Hard to wait. Pray for me---.

hi all,
yes KAS, sex right before or right after ET can help embie implant! they like the sperm in your lining. i've read research studies that say so.
it's orgasm days later, after it implants that is thought to possibly disrupt it from sticking in. even this RE's say is overcautious, but to wait til first beta or some even say first h/b. hope that helps. best of luck to you!

foreverlove - 3ET that's awesome. what a xmas present that can be!

JDC- awesome 2nd beta!! woohoo! see, even a little illness can't stop it!

robin..sorry to hear the m/s is hitting. mine seems to be gone now.

chris- wow it's great for you to get that info on your case and have that data for future..

gina- good luck with that first u/s.. i get the tension that builds in advance. i'm anxious about mine on friday too

hi wishing 4 and detroit. and to everyone else out there.

so i'm anxiously awaiting my u/s friday. if it's good, i'll feel soooo positive about no m/c, as i'll be 8 1/2 weeks and if there's a good h/b, statistically speaking,..i should be in good shape.

thanks to everyone for your MIL thoughts. i was so choked as it's just a build up of her unwanted opinions. i've had to set boundaries with her before and may need to again (soon)..i did write her back and explained that m/s includes my symptoms...i didn't say anything direct about not liking her comments..maybe i should have or maybe it's best this way. she may drive me nuts the rest of my life.

anyways, have a great night to all. karen

to have fun - your big red post for me totally cheered me up! thanks!

to all the others that have offered up words of encouragement these last few days - really, really helped and i really appreciate every word!

gina1234 - 2 days goes by super quick and soon you'll be seeing the hb!

karen - sorry your MIL is so difficult and...
not hopelss yet - your MIL story is right out of a sitcom! Good Lord!

kas - yah, i would avoid orgasm in that then i think you have uterine contractions and i don't think you want those but then i'm no doctor and clearly not good at getting pregnant - so maybe you should do the opposite of what i tell you and you'll have chance ;)

foreverlove - i'm with you on that this is our one shot and we're hoping for the best. i pray that your one shot brings you a happy, healthy BFP! congrats on getting 3 put back in! I'm sure you'll have plenty to freeze.

JDC - great beta number! woo-hooo! glad that your scourge is gone.

i'm sure i left people off and i apologize. these last few days of the 2ww have made me a little scatterbrained.

as for me, the good news is that i had plenty to distract me tonight - a good few hours in front of the tv wrapping and packing up presents to send to our families for xmas in LA. we're not going home for the first time ever this year, so it really helped me to put more thought into gifts for the family this year and get involved in wrapping them and shipping them out. it reminded me more that it's less about location for the holidays and more about still being able to share joy even across the miles. plus it was an excellent distraction tonight cause it was time-consuming and took my mind off of my BETA TOMORROW MORNING!

holy crap! i can't believe i made it. i'm a totally mellow person - hard to get me bent out of shape about much of anything and this 2ww got me going. i still don't feel pregnant so i'm still thinking it will be a negative but i've done all i can and lifetime closure is literally within 24 hours away. like i said, holy crap! i also realize and many of you have said this, that just cause i don't feel pregnant doesn't mean anything is possible. either way, i can't believe i made it this far and my beta is tomorrow! HOLY CRAP! Did i mention HOLY CRAP?

tip for morning sickness

Post by waiting for 4 »

a little tip for those with m/s... skip the ginger ale. most of that stuff doesnt have any real ginger in it which is what helps settle your stomach.

Try Ginger Beer. Its non-alcoholic and caffeine free... the stuff I buy has a ton of real ginger in it and it is great with a twist of lime. I just get mine from HEB so I guess most stores will have it but especially check th better grocery stores like Whole Foods or Central Market. :D
