Evening ladies! Just a quickie from me because DH and I off to London tomorrow morning until Sunday night and I wanted to catch up with you all before we go. The spa day yesterday was lovely and so relaxing - my friend and I just pottered, sat by the pool reading magazines and of course chatted about all things babies and birth. It was just the day I needed, I think.

claudia - wow, you sound like a busy lady! Hope the new blower got installed so that things are cooler at home, and that Lincoln can come back to his mummy and daddy.

Steph - it is just so cute that Ethan and Angelina are cuddling up cheek to cheek. Sorry about the previa, but I guess if you know it's going to be a c-section then you can plan for that (it'll probably suit your planning nature knowing exactly when the babies will be arriving!) - my friend was telling me yesterday that the operation and recovery afterwards are just nowhere near as big a deal as some people make out. What good news about your brother, I'm so relieved for you, but what the hell were the doctors doing getting him worried like that before the test results actually came back?

babyluv - yay for everything looking perfect with your two girls at the u/s. I'm sure you're right about the GTT, I thought after mine that if I'd tested positive they'd have been on the phone straight away getting me an appointment at the diabetes clinic. So I'm sure no news is good news.

PA_FA - DH and I live in the countryside about 20 miles north of London, he works in the City and commutes every day. I like your reasoning on cooking with raisins being part of your daily fruit intake - I think we should apply the same logic to chocolate bars made with fruit & nuts! Wow, sounds like your airline works you pretty hard - who do you fly with? Nope, dizziness on a transatlantic flight with demanding passengers doesn't sound like much fun, good plan to take a sick day!

Sonya - good luck for tomorrow, we'll be thinking of you.

katie - yeah, Zorba's going to be a big one, that's for sure. You said it - ouch! Yes, it was easy to tell it was an elbow sticking out, (a) because it was on the side where the spine is, rather than the side where Zorba's hands and feet are, and (b) because it was so small and sharply pointed that I couldn't think of a single other body part it could have been! Hurray for the missing letter arriving...twice! So do you now have a spare 'V' and a 'P', or did you have to return the 'P'? If not, you only need an 'I' for VIP! Which of course she will be... You domestic goddess you, with homemade pasta and sauce. Can you come and live with me please??? I'm thinking that at some point in the next few weeks, I really need to get around to making large versions of meals like lasagne, bolognese, macaroni cheese, shepherds pie etc (basically, any stuff which is easy to make in large quantities and then to divide into smaller meals) and then freeze them in portions for 2 so that after Zorba comes, DH and I won't have to worry about cooking every night for a couple of weeks. But whether I'll actually get around to it is another thing...

Hazel - Glad you had a great time with your friend. Now on to London. Wish I could go to London. lol Yes, the c-section does have it's upside as far as planning goes. ;) You have a point there. I am still scared, but then most of the stories I hear are from girls who have gone to the Army hospital. I have to think positive and know that I won't be going through those bad experiences because I am going to a good hospital. :)

Katie - Must be nice to be putting everything together for the nursery. I am still waiting for the one dresser to arrive. lol I know it's on it's way though. Site to store takes so muh longer, but well worth the wait when it finally gets here. A little play time is nice but I am sure even that won't last too much longer either. Andrew was happy to hear the news and teased me with the idea of a little play time just to fall asleep as soon as we went to bed. Not even as much as a kiss goodnight.

Sonya - Good to see you dropping back in. I can't wait to hear how the u/s went! I am patiently waiting. ;)

Lou - You will always find love here!

Pa - Thank you so much for your kind words about my brother and sharing about your dad. My RE told us the same thing during the time I was bleeding. I couldn't do anything at all, so when the ob said pelvic rest I assumed it was the same kind of pelvic rest. Lucky for me I get the occasional O. lol As long as I am not bleeding or spotting of course. ;)

Babyluv - Good news about the u/s having two healthy girls! Sucks that you didn't get to share the screen though. Just a few minutes and some bad pictures? At least you got a few good ones. I got to have a separate screen with my last peri visit, but it was horrible resolution, it was hard to tell what anything was and not one usable picture. :( So 4 weeks till the next one, maybe you will get to watch and get more good pictures. I have my next peri visit on Aug 11, they have me on a every 6 week schedule unless they have reason to send me there sooner. As far as the GTT, my ob only calls when there is an issue. He says he likes to just wait till the next visit to give good news. So, no news is good news. :)

Katie- WOW pasta from scratch???? I love to make sauces from scratch (I have a great vodka blush if you want it) but I have never tried pasta. You go girl. I make chicken, noodles and dumplings from scratch. Which is actually what we had for dinner tonight. When DH asked why I was going to so much trouble during this heat I told him that the baby ordered it for room service. LOL LOVE IT!!!!!!!! 8)

Hazel- I fly for Continental out of Newark, NJ. I was in London earlier this month and will be back there next week. We stay right by Heathrow but the hotel is wonderful with the most comfortable beds so I really don't mind that there isn't a lot to do around there within walking distance. We do get a free shuttle to Windsor but I have not been yet. DH wants to go see the castle so who knows, maybe next week will be it? :) I'm happy you had such a wonderful time at the spa. It sounds great! Maybe I should look into that???

Stephanie- Boo for Andrew falling asleep...it is the weekend now though. Maybe tonight will be more fun?!?!

AFM- Very uneventful day...just grocery shopping, sleeping and cooking. I'm off to Oslo tomorrow. When I called out sick (FMLA) for my last trip I found out it was not paid. SOOOOOOOO I need to make up the time and pay. Headed to Oslo with DH. When I get back the next day is my sono with OB. YEAH!!!!!!!! At least work is a good way to kill time and get my mind of worrying all the time. :?

Hello ladies! Sorry I've been MIA lately-we went out of town and constantly on the go for the past two weeks. I only have 3 weeks until I officially go back to work so I'm trying to squeeze everything in.

I will need a few days to catch up on personals-I'm thinking of you all! Hopefully you are all staying cool and taking great care of yourselves 8)

I went to an appt. with the perinatologist today. He said I had a beautiful cervix-that's one I've never heard! at 5.4 and still have the partial previa. Babies are looking great which is a total relief. This doc. is always so fast so I never really ask any questions-I feel like he would alert me if there were serious problems (I hope!) I'm getting excited to get the babies' room ready-we moved out the guest bed furniture so I think we'll be ready to paint it soon. Okay...I mean my DH and brother will paint it soon

Here is my "attempt to post pictures. The belly picture is from 20 weeks and the others are from our vacation time last week. Hopefully it works

Sara - you are so tiny and cute! Your DD is just a doll. Congrats on your beautiful cervix :D It was such a relief for me to hear that mine was well over 4 (thought I don't know the exact measurement).

Hazel - glad you are having a good time!

Katie - If I walk around for more than 30 my back starts to kill, so I don't have much opportunity to be on my feet. Homemade pasta sounds soooo good.

AFM - Called my OB and YAY! Passed the GTT! Now I get to look forward to do it again in a couple of months, but I'm just glad I passed and don't have to do the 3 hour (and hopefully won't next time). I AM, however, anemic now (surprise surprise), so I just started my iron pills. I expected that to happen at some point. The girls have been kicking up a storm the last several days, especially when we say "Inception" last night (soooo good by the way). When it would get loud, they would start kicking, especially B. Fun times. DH and I were cuddling this morning with my belly to his back, and she got a little kick in that he finally felt. Fun times!

Oh, and I had to break down and buy a bathing suit this morning. We are going to the beach the first week of August for a few days, so I had to bite the bullet. Thankfully I found a cute one that looks good (not maternity, as those don't seem to work for me), that was on sale. DH said it looks great (would he really dare tell me otherwise??) and I'm happy with it.

Hi everyone -

Whew! Why is it 98 degrees outside? With a heat index of 103? Ewwwww, its melting weather. My ankles now look like grapefruits, attractive, yes?
So I survived BRU yesterday, and I have to wonder "do they pump O2 into that place like casino's do?" How is it that you cant get out of there in less than 3-4 hrs? I swear Chris is worse than me with this stuff, we went there for a crib mattress and a bedding set - so how does this take 3+ hrs? I have no idea, but it did. For the bedding I looked at just about everything in the place, then i made the mistake of telling Chris to decide since I had it narrowed down to 3 sets
forty minutes later... I was begging him to just pick one already! yet, no it cant be that simple, can it? he picks 2 other ones and now we're trying to choose between 5 sets - grrr. I gave up and went to sit in the gliders, and watched him agonizing in peace .... ummm.. shouldnt it be thwe woman forcing the man to keep shopping? I had to go remind them that they're all pretty, but please pick one, please? And another eternity later I had no choice to tell him that
1- Savannah truly doesnt care what print is on her sheets!
2- Savannah does care that we get to eat dinner soon! like real soon!
So after all that I noticed that this cream, sage, pale pink set w/ ladybugs on it was 20% off, plus I had a 20 % coupon! yes! So 40% off? well thats ones the winner. Then he took sooooo long looking at mattresses that I swear I was one minute away from putting one on the floor and making him try it out - hahaha
So, another 20 % coupon for that. we went to check out to be told that they dont have any more of that mattress and will get one in 3 weeks - after all that??
I dont think so. Then someone said that they have 3 next door at toys r us - i would have never thought to even look there, who knew? so here we go in there and by now its pushing 8pm and I havent had dinner yet, so my belly realized I need to take charge here - lol so I refused to let him in past the checkout, or we would have been in there for hours too! I mean dont get me wrong, I do think its cute how he is agonizing over every tiny decision, but now I know where to send him if I need a few hours to myself, right?
And happy dance for the furniture company that sent the replacement for the broken piece today - good thing I was about to call and start nagging them too

Lou - I'm totally stalking you on the cycle thread! . I have total faith that you will be back over here where you belong, in a few weeks! grow em girl!

Hazel - oh thats a great idea! to freeze all sorts of means for the first weeks when we'll all be too sleep deprived to cook! You enjoy every moment of your mini holiday! Say hi to Carolyn for me, i cant imagine she has a minute to herself these days - xoxo

Steph - I hope that you're not running around trying to square away any last minute shower details, let the girl do that for you, plus theres a whole week left for that sort of thing. Yes, he got the most of the nursery together, and good old Gracie dog has already drooled on it too, umm she drools on everything though
And eeek now with furniture in it, boy did that room get smaller quick! I'm hoping that you got your playtime last night, and that he didnt fall asleep on you again, damn Army always always getting up so early! lol How are you feeling twin mama? Has Angelina found any new ways to take up all Ethan's space yet?
It makes me laugh to hear about their little personalities already, or maybe he'll now take all her space. I think watching your belly soon is going to be a riot! - xoxoxo

Pa-Fa - Ummm, yeah pasta from scratch seemed like a great idea until I ran out of steam about 3 hrs in and was thinking the dry pasta is just fiiiine. Have a safe trip, how awesome that you get to travel with your DH!

Sara - Aw Sara, you look so beautiful and your bump is so precious, what a gorgeous DD too, glad to hear that all is going well, and i know what you mean, my OB acts like a hummingbird too, and I have to spew out all my questions quick before she's gone also - sigh

Babyluv - Yay for passing your GTT! I havent gotten any news yet on mine. glad to hear that your girls are kicking all over the place, even kicking daddy already too - hehee I'm sure your bathing suit looks just great with your little bump. Enjoy some days at the beach - I'm a little jealous, that sounds so relaxing

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo

Katie - Wow, Chris' attention to detail is a bit extreme isn't it. lol It's his first though and I am sure by the time you have a go at number two that he will have calmed down. By the time you have a second you have already learned from the first experience. :) Don't be too hard on the proud papa, but make sure you know when to pull those strings a little tighter and bring him back to reality. lol Reality being of course, make a decision so we can feed this baby you are wanting to buy the perfect bedding for! lol Oh, and no... no playtime for me. This might be tmi but I went and blindly groomed myself to help entice him a bit. So maybe tonight? lol When I say blindly, I do mean blind. I can't see anything because of my belly and some places are hard to reach because of it too. Not an easy task and probably not the smartest thing to take a razor to something you can't see that is so sensitive. lol I think I did ok though. :) Anyway, Angelina is still being pretty quiet when it comes to movement. Ethan is definately the ADHD one. They have been pretty quiet today so far. I guess they just want to sleep right now. :) Oh and I am not worrying about the shower. I have given up on knowing anything as far as that goes. I am glad I got the invites out when I did and glad I got my cake. The rest is up to her. I just hope people actually show up. No one is buying from the registries so I have no idea what's going on there. I am hoping they are just getting diapers or cash or at the least still coming. By the way, since I won't make it past week 35 should we change my due date to September 30? Of course I don't have a surgery date, but that's a closer estimate than the Nov 4th now huh? lol

Babyluv - Awesome that you passed your GTT!! Why do they make you take it again later though? At least it won't be the 3 hour one and you already know you like the orange drink. lol I started to become anemic right away in this pregnancy. Well, they didn't call me to tell me, I found out after going in and complaining that the nurses would never return my phone calls! I was 11 weeks then. So the girls like the movie Inception huh? That does look like a good one to see but I will wai for it to hit Netflix like I usually do. :) YAY for DH feeling the kicks, even if they did kick him in his back. lol That's so funy. I bet you look so cute in your bathing suit. There is no way I could attempt it with my big ole belly and an ass to match. lol

Sara - Cute pictures! You're so little and cute with your baby bump! You have a beautiful family too! Glad to hear about your beautiful cervix. lol

Pa - Nope, no playtime. He fell asleep again. Sometimes I wonder who the man with the raging testoserone is. lol Hope your flights don't have you on your feet too much. What's your plan on fitting through those isles when you got a big ole baby bump? Can't wait to hear about your u/s when you come back!

AFM - Not much going on. Still waiting for my O. lol Other than that it has been pretty uneventful around here. Andrew is working on a side job trying to make some cash to help us through till next pay day. I hate this living paycheck to paycheck crap, but we will get settled back in. I am filled with thoughts of what things will be like when the twins are here. I think about how things will be set up. I wonder who will look like who and how I will get any sleep. lol Then of course I worry about the previa bleeding and what protocol to take IF that happens. The hospital is 30 minutes away. Do we call 911 for a medevac or try to drive it? There are two hospitals close by but neither are good for premature babies and I want to make sure if that happens that we all three get the best care. I guess I should just think about the positive things, but I think it is always safe to plan for the worst so there is no panic. I am not worrying myself too much about it, but it does cross my mind. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. :)

Steph - The midwife wanted me to take it early because I've put on so much weight so quickly. Even though that's what I'm supposed to do for my body type, she just wanted to make sure. I've read that it's pretty common to take the test twice when having multiples, though obviously not every needs to. I was also having sudden drops in blood sugar where I came close to blacking out a couple of time, so she just wanted to be on the safe side. I still need to take it around 28 weeks like everyone else since that's when a lot of the hormones kick in and diabetes is more likely to present.

Hazel – I am so glad that your relaxing weekend started off so well. A spa day sounds great. What a great idea to spend the day with someone you met on this site. She will be able to help prepare you for the upcoming weeks! I just read your next post; I am so glad that you enjoyed your day!

Claudia – You have been a busy, busy mommy haven’t you? I will tell you that you will never let the grass grow underneath your feet … Ha! Actually, I think that is great because lately I have been having a little bit more energy and have been enjoying spending some quality time with my DH. So, I totally understand you wanting to go, go, go but try not to overdo it in this awful heat wave we have been having and I will do the same!

Stephanie – It sounds like your appointment went well … that is great! I am so very happy to hear about your brother’s pathology report. I was definitely saying some hefty prayers for him! I just read your next post; it is so exciting that you are about 10 or less left with your pregnancy and you will have a lot your questions answered about who they will look like!!!! I understand and feel the same way you do regarding the distance from the hospital because my hospital is almost an hour away! But, I just have to have faith that it will all work out and I am sure it will work out for you also! I am sure you will make it to the hospital with no problems.

Babyluv – Yeah, I understand exactly how you feel regarding wanting to see the babies more during your appointment but I am so very happy the girls are doing well!!!

PA_FA – It sounds like you have been a very busy mommy also with all of the flying. I am glad that you decided to take the day off because it sounds like you definitely needed it. The one thing that I learned during pregnancy is that you have to listen to your body. My DH and I decided not to do any of the genetic testing. In my opinion, it will not change anything as we will most likely still have the baby and they can have a lot of false positives also. I think I have enough to panic about right now then adding something else on my plate. I don’t think my DH could handle me if that happened … lol!

Dandme – I am sure by now you have already had your ultrasound and know that everything is just fine. Yes, I will agree the women here are so happy to be pregnant … I think we have our good days and bad but we try to remember our bundle of joy who is waiting for us after 9 months.

Katie – I love the homemade food. But, I understand the swelling; my feet have been swelling a lot lately also. I just read your next post … I love the shopping stories now I have something to look forward to. The things I ordered were on-line.

Sara – It is so nice to hear from you and know that you and the babies are doing well. Did I read that you are going back to work already? Is school starting that soon or do you just have to prepare your room for the kiddos to return in late August or early September.

AFM – Well, this heat is kicking my behind! My car has been reading 98 to over 100 degrees each day not including the humidity level! So, I have experienced my first bout of swollen feet during this pregnancy. On an exciting note, the stroller/car seat, pack-n-play, visual monitor arrived on Friday. I have really, really enjoyed looking at them and imagining Gabriella in them.

***Can I confess something to you ladies … my DH’s side of the family is excited that we are expecting again but if I hear one more time I wish we were adding a boy to the family, I will haul off and slap someone. I finally snapped yesterday and said look, I am lucky to even be pregnant! I mean for god sakes, we have already lost 4 babies in the 10 years that we have been married!!!! I told her I will love this baby whether it’s a she or he … all I want is a healthy baby! Can you believe the insensitivity??? I just lost a baby at 21 weeks last year; do they really think I want to hear that sh**? Sorry for the rant today ladies but I think Gabriella is a miracle and I am pissed that others around us don’t realize it also. This could really be our last chance to have a family!

Angela - Sonya had a blighted ovum. Small sac measuring 5.5 weeks and no baby. Thought I would mention it since you posted a personal to her and she might not be back for a while.

I am glad you spoke up about the gender conversation. Good for you! What is the importance about gender anyway? Sure there might be a preference, but wishing it were something different?? Gender doesn't make or break a family. It doesn't define a person, make them better or worse in any way shape or form. You are carrying a miracle inside of you. After so much heart break, how can people be so selfish? Don't let that get to you though. As easily as it is to remember and have those words nag at you, don't let it. Just craddle your belly and bond with that miracle baby girl of yours! :)

Babyluv - I didn't even peice together that you had your GTT early. Silly me. They offered to let me wait till my next appt but I wanted to get it over with.

Thanks Stephanie ... unfortunately, I didn't read that until about 5 minutes ago on another thread. I feel just horrible for her.

Just a lightning quick one from me as DH is virtually sitting the car revving the engine to hurry me up! We got back from London last night, and had a lovely time. We pottered around the shops on Saturday for the day (including shopping for an eternity ring for after Zorba puts in an appearance - I'm a very lucky girl!) and then spent a few hours relaxing at the hotel. Saturday night we met up with my best friend from school and her husband for a meal, which was really good fun. On Sunday we spent the morning reading the papers in Starbucks, then went onto a hotel in Soho which has a small cinema and runs a film club where you have Sunday lunch followed by an afternoon film (which yesterday was The Killers). All in all, a really nice break and it felt like we'd been away for ages! Today it's off to the countryside for the week, via an appointment this morning to test drive a car (the presence of Zorba will change our car requirements!) - hence DH putting me under pressure to get going! We are taking DH's laptop so provided we can find somewhere with internet/wireless, I will check in with you all through the week, otherwise I'll be back in touch a week today!

Steph - hope the dresser arrives soon, and you can get more stuff put away etc. Now that you're looking more at the end of September, you and I are going to be really close together. Doesn't it seem sometimes like there's virtually no time at all left???

PA_FA - hope you are doing OK in the air, and haven't had any more dizzy spells. Enjoy London when you're next here - I've never been to Windsor but it's supposed to be a pretty place, and of course there's the castle to see as well.

Sara - yay for beautiful cervixes! I haven't got a clue what mine looks like a no-one's ever looked at it since I got pregnant. Wow, you're another one with just the cutest bump! Love the photos of your DD, she's gorgeous...

babyluv - great news on the GTT, but sorry about the anaemia. Make sure you up your fibre and fluids because that iron can make you constipated! How funny that the babies were kicking through the film - Zorba was going CRAZY yesterday every time there was gunfire or loud music in the cinema!

katie - haha, Chris takes his baby stuff shopping very seriously! Hope you're feeling good.

angela - I totally get you on your reaction to people hoping for a boy, hopefully with what you've said they realise how insensitive (and stupid) they're being.

Sonya - I'm so sorry.

Apologies again for being so brief - DH is going to strangle me if I don't press 'submit' now and get out to the car!! Have a good week!

hi ladies,
im glad to see you all are doing great and had great news and good u/s. All of you tummies are growing i am just starting to see a little tummy these days. i went to the dells this past weekend and i was so nervous to do anything. i stayed away from the rides but i got tricked. me and DH decided to go on the go carts and we thought the track wasnt bumping and all cement but it lied it turned out some of the track was wooden and bumper than hell. so that made me nervous. i went in the lazy river and kids were trying to race in there and bumping and pushing us so we got out and the wave pool w
was just dangerous. so what did i exactly get to do lol. nothing. but the resort was nice and big. So anyways i had my appt last friday to check my hormones to see if i was producing enough and im not so back to the shots ladies for two more weeks. i was a bit upset but what can i do. two more weeks isnt the end of the world. wednesday is my ob appt so a few more days. what do you guys think my ob will do about me lifting at work? do u think they'll have me go back to work on no no restrictions?
ANGELA- Good for you for speaking up. i guess other people really just dont get it andunderstand. this is your chance at motherhood and how much you go through day by day nervous and praying. im with you i dont care if i have a boy or girl just as long as you can have a family and a healthy baby.
stephanie- im glad your brother got good news cancer is scary.
