Towachi -
I am a poor responder who was cancelled and now pregnant.
I read inconceivable and also The Infertility Cure by Randine lewis. Both women have websites one is thefertileheart.com and one is thefertilesoul.com.
I changed my diet (no meat, wheat, dairy, caffeine, sugar) and I did acupuncture and went on a regime that included DHEA and L-Argenine. I drank a shot of wheatgrass every day. (keeps and lowers FSH)
Look up DHEA and poor responders online. or you can go to the website of my clinic CenterforHumanReproduction in NYC and read about what they are up to. I found them on line, and am currently expecting twins. In January my old RE cancelled my cycle and told me to get an egg donor.... I'm just saying, if you aren't ready to stop, you don't have to.
turtles - congratulations on the heartbeat. I know the fear but I have heard of people who didn't have heartbeats or see a lot at 6 weeks and at 7 they had grown well. eat protein, fat, omega 3s and drink tons of water if you can. let that babe develop!
Valerie - people bleed all the time. Especially w/ multiples. rest and keep the faith girl. also - sometimes the heartbeats are later. I am keeping the faith for you. stay still. no lifting. do miniumum activities. cut social plans. just plant your butt on the sofa and feed your sac if you can. eggs, fats, omegas, folic acid, calcium.
kerpupples, I am on a business trip now and I broke down and asked someone I am working w/ to do the shots, and to please not tell anyone. She's great at them. Last week I was home and DH was away, I enlisted the help of 3 friends. 2 who had done IVF and the sister of a fried who is a nurse. I had my husband teach me his little tricks, and then I slipped an ice pack in my pants and went to people's houses.
Now on business, I keep an ice pack in the freezer here, and slip into the handicapped bathroom at the end of the day w/ the co-worker. I prepare the shot, and she does it. I'ts working out great. I didn't want to have to tell anyone. this woman just guessed I was preggo. (fat face and I've put on some weight - in all the preggo places. )
Renee - congrats on 3 eggs. soak feet in epsom salts each night before transfer.
My news: I went to OB on Monday. these babes were growing. One was harder to see (hidden behind the other) but she said He/she was bigger actually than the other. The heads looked more like heads this time which was thrilling. I then travelled to DC for work. It's hard I have to carry a big book and laptop w/ me, and I am just so nervous carrying stuff. We have scheduled CVS testing for after week 11. Nervous even thinking about that. one step at a time. I almost threw up today - but was in public so I held it. very tired this evening. I wasn't working a full day before. How do you ladies do it??

Val - I am just starting to feel like myself again, although I am very unhappy with the fact that I gained 8 pounds through this process! Oh well. I have my follow up with RE next week - but I do plan to try again. I'm finding it very hard to be optimistic though - and I have not been taking my supplements/herbs etc. because I feel like what is the point. Enough about me! Right now it is about you and taking good care of yourself. Everything will be alright.

everyone gains weight in the process. cut yourself slack on that. I've gained about 20 over the two years of trying. so hard. I too quit my herbs for a while, and I think that's more than okay. I did another cycle shortly after, and having quit for 10 days did not affect anything.
best,
s
I do not have time to do individuals this morning, but wanted to stop by and say hello and to tell you that I love and appreciate you all for our faith, the journey of infertility, our tenacity and our love for children. We are one big family in the site of God. I have been in negotiations since Monday and will be ending this afternoon, then I will have some time to write, but you are all in my prayers and thank you for your advise and prayers.
Sorry I haven't been around lately. I've had a lot of headaches. I've also been anxious to get to my u/s tomorrow. I am so afraid that there will be no heartbeat or that the baby(ies) have stopped growing. I was feeling pretty tired, but the last few days that has gone away. So now I don't really have any symptoms and that is what scares me. At least it is less than 24 hours until I will know. At my scan tomorrow I will be 6w6d so there should be a heartbeat.
Turtles- Congrats on hearing the heartbeat. YAY! That is so exciting. What was the heartbeat? Will your clinic be doing another u/s. Mine does two. Congrats again.
Valerie- I'm sorry that you weren't able to hear the heartbeat at your u/s. You were very early though so I wouldn't be too worried yet. My clinic doesn't do the u/s until 7 weeks or a day before because it is too hard to find. That really sucks that you have to wait 9 more days though. Maybe if you called them and told them how worried you were they will do it sooner. Worth a try.
Stacy- Congrats on being an aunt!. I like that name
Sueqiwi- How is stimming going? I hope you have a lot of strong eggs. Have you had an u/s yet to see how many follies you have?
Toobee- How have you been feeling? Good luck on your u/s tomorrow.
Other than being anxious/worries for my u/s tomorrow. Not much else going on here. I feel pretty good today. No headache yet.
Amanda~ I'm sorry you are worried...I know and we all know what that feels like. As for the headaches, I had one for nearly three days (migraine) and nothing to take it away. They can be very debilitating. Maybe it's lack of water in our system. I know that I will get a migraine the day after I didn't drink enough. I'm making a conscious effort to drink more. Of course it means more trips to the bathroom but that's ok.
I can't wait for your report tomorrow. You'll be glad when you see both sac and hearing both heartbeats. Wishing you the best of luck and you'll be in my thoughts.
JDC~ I know you're feeling down, but don't give up!! The point of all of this is to give ourselves the best chances possible. If you go into your next cycle and didn't do everything you can to make it successful, you will probably regret that. Remember how well your herbs and supplements helped you? You got more eggs than you thought and better quality and you got pregnant!! Please don't give up!! And I think it will be good for you to join a group for support. And you can always PM me if you want. Stay on here for a while if you'd like. Sending you great big hugs and loads of PMA!!
Towachi~ You are really sweet and have a great positive attitude. Thanks for being part of our group!
Toobee~ Are you hanging in there? Has the spotting stopped. You're quiet and I'm guessing you're not feeling very good. One more day before your US...how exciting!
My PMA is doing pretty well. I haven't had any AF type cramps in quite a few days. I do feel some pulling down in my lower abdomen from time to time. The burping is as usual, lots of it and now comes with a strange taste. I guess it's some sort of heartburn. I've never had heartburn in my life. The hunger comes and goes but comes most of the time. My boobs are a little painful but not too much. So I guess that is all good. I'm trying to hang on to those symptoms as good signs.
Renee~ I'm so glad that you got three eggs! That's good. I can't wait to hear to hear your fertilization report. I hope they all fertilize and grow strong!! Let us know !
I hope you all have a great day.
Hugs to all.

Val - We transferred 3 embryos so there's certainly a possibility of multiples. I kinda think my initial betas were too low for that though. We'll see next week!
Stefanie - Thanks for the encouragement! You're lucky to have such helpful friends and colleagues. I do have to make a trip in a couple weeks to our home office. My office manager also did IVF so I'll have no trouble asking her to give me shots. Next week though, I'll be at a new client with only a male colleague so I'll be on my own for that. I can do my left buttock OK because I'm left handed - have done it myself before. But I can't do my right so I think I'll be shooting that one into my thigh - yikes!
AmandaM - your betas are huge hon, I'm sure your US will go just fine!
Renee - Woohoo! Grow embies grow!

I just ordered DHEA and L-Arginine to try, but to stop eating meat will be the difficult one. Our food consist of fish, vegs and goat meat, chicken, turkey and carb such as rice, processed cassava flour. I hadly eat cow meat, but I eat healthy most of the time.
TOWACHI,
Meat really is okay, and protein is very important. The thing to remmeber about meat is to eat organic meat which is free of all hormones, pesticides etc. Organic meat is a bit more epxensive than other meat, but I really believe that orgnaic meat is important if meat is a large part of your diet. Also if you eat fish you need to be careful as well. You should stay away from any bottom dweliing fish and shellfish, tuna fish and fish high is mercury. Alaskan Salmon is good, and some others.
Amanda
We ae in the same boat. One more day for you and you'll know the deal. The symptom thing is just so un-assuring. My boobs hirt one day and not the next. The most consistent thing I have is OHSS and heartburn like you couldn belive. Hang tight buddy, we are almost there, I hope we both get good news...your in my thoughts
Val
Heartburn sucks doest it??? I feel your pain. I am gld to hear those symptoms remain strong for you, that has to be a good sign. is there anyway yo can get some additonal bloodwork done and get in for an US at 7 weeks??? why so long? I dont undertsand. I was wondering if you had late implanters too....which is why maybe they didnt see the heartbeat yet....
Stephanie
I read all the books you mentioned...I find that funny you were so on the same path. I read probaly 10-12 books before my IVF and while I was trying to concieve naturally. I didnt cut out meat, or take the supplements L-argnine or DHEA, but if this ends up being a bust I might try the supplements next time, but I am not a big fan of a maatless diet. I very familair with the DHEA studies. I m so happy for you and so gald to hear your babies are growing big and strong...congrats girl
Kerpupples
I imagine you know that singleton and twin betas are similar...so you never know.....multiples could be in your future!
Renee
3 eggs sounds great!! All you need is one and thats the truth...cant wait to hear your Fert report!
As for me.......same ol same ol......but PMA is unfortunaltly at an all time low thanks to the bleeding and feeling lke crap...also I have gained 14 pounds...oof, that cant be just from being pregnant!! Truth is I eat healthy but the nausea only feels better when my tummy has something in it so I guess I am eating more than usual because of that....I just hope its all worth it...Ill know soon
Thanks beautiful for your advice. I do eat organic goat and chicken. I go to the farm to have them kill, clean and packaged every three months. For fish, I do Alaskan salmon, blue fish, cat fish, butter fish and tilapia and a whole lot of dry-fish. However, I am going to focus on the fact that "even if we eat deadly things, they shall by no means hurt us" we cannot avoid all toxins, it is all over our land, the choices our leaders have made. Try watching the documentary "FLOW" you will cry your eyes out on what mutlinational companies are doing to our waters. But, we cannot stop eating or drinking, we were created to enjoy the fruits of the land irrespective of pesticides and hormons. Look at it this way honey, it is not about what we eat, it is the cross we are carrying at this point in our life. People on drugs get pregnant without any problem, infertility is a cross, it is our trial, but we shall overcome no matter what we eat or drink.
Take care love, and eat spinach, liver and egg for those beautiful ones yo are carrying.
TooBee and Amanda - Wishing the both of you the best of luck with your U/S tomorrow. I need to put some more smiley faces on the board so hopefully you guys have a couple of beans.
Renee- Congrats on your 3 eggs. Praying that they want to fertlize and grow.
JDC- I know it is hard to stay positive. Wishing you the best of luck and will checking and pulling for you when you decide to do your next cycle. We have some ladies for Oct/Nov/Dec board and looking to have some good x-mas presents so maybe we might see you over there.
Sueqiwi- How is stimming going? Are you a crazy lady yet with all the hormones?
Hope everyone else is doing well.
