Gina - I just got a boppy newborn, are the covers really wipeable or do you need to clean the whole pillow? I hope all goes well with your apt and post more pics when you can!

Stephanie - WOW GORGEOUS! I just want to hug and kiss those little munchkins! I hope things start getting into some schedule for you and you can take a nap to feel human again, don't be afraid to ask for help, maybe dad can take them on a car ride so you can get some shut eye!

Leora - love your bump! I wish we had a zoo around here :( the ones in San Francisco and Oakland are not that great. I didn't mean to worry you about the double trouble. In fact sometimes when DS is playing I wish he had a twin so he could play with him or her. I heard twins are much better at soothing each other and keeping each other entertained, with one baby you are all the entertainment! So yes, there are many advantages to having twins, I was just trying to distract you from this tough week, not scare you by any means! And who is that crazy woman letting her twins around in the store, stick them in the cart!!!

Blair - for later I highly recommend the sunshine kids Radian, they are slimmer and fit side by side better, you can use them from newborn to 80 something pounds although a basket style is easier for newborns. But as a later car seat it is awesome.

Ryann - good luck with cervix check today, hope all is closed and tight! Good luck with MIL sitting in your NST!

Lou - I envy your energy going to a concert too! I wish we all lived close and could go to your shower!!!

SD - I hope your stalker goes away, sorry that is so stressful! I can't wait to see pics of nursery! Are you having DS and baby in separate rooms?

Chris - boys rock! Congratulations!

Kjm - GD is confusing, they want my fasting to be less than 90, preferrably 80 and my one hour less than 130. Non pregnant levels go to less than 100 fasting and less than 140 in TWO hours! Again don't blame yourself and do the best you can, prevention is the best and you are doing everything great!

Karian Glad the baby is growing and the docs are happy with the growth of your sweet and cut eand petite girl! Should make for an easy labor I hope! Look on the bright side!

Sweetpea - like in my PM, don't worry your baby will be very healthy and fine!

Margi we need another bump pic! I am so glad you are able to do more with no new bleeding!

Amanda - yeay for meeting your little girl sooner!

Happy Bunny - I am sure you are holding a very sweet girl right now, can't wait!

Karen scorpio I hope you can bring her home soon! She is a fighter! We need pics!

Mellow Always thinking of you and Marlo!

Karen vancouver - how are you hun?

Today is my last day of work supposedly, I might have to come back next week too much to do. We have a cleaning lady coming to the house today and I am so excited but of course that makes me put everything away and apparently I was annoying DH becuase he loves to leave his stuff everywhere... well last night I paid the price, painful contractions every 10 mins. I drank water and laid down to hear DH say "I told you not to over do it!" well if I don't do it, no one does! Argh, boys have such a simplistic way of putting things! He is very helpful but I think you girls know how it is, he thinks his little beard shavings magically disappear from the sink every day ;) alright that was good venting! I really need to learn to take it easy now... My OB had said that after 36 weeks (tomorrow) that they won't try to stop the baby and just deliver her, so I waited to call and glad I did cause the contractions were gone and all is well again. I hope she hangs in there until the 26th of July! My insulin levels have not changed at all in one month which is crazy cause the last month it is supposed to go all over the place so I am very happy! Oh and I hit the 200 lb mark :( yickes! I am 5'9" but still it is weird... thank God for bfeeding!

Ok so I just got home and want to run this past you. My OB is very laid back, so I don't think he will ever show any concern. I went to give my lovely pee sample and there's definitely more mucus plug. He checks me and I'm a good solid 1cm and Dylan's head is making it's way into the birth canal. He did the strep B test and told me to pay close attention and take everything seriously. I asked him if he still thought I'd make it to 36 weeks and he said "we hope". So I guess I'm wondering from you ladies...can I still make it to 36 weeks?

Ryann: I lost my mucous plug 3 days before I had the boys. My OB is very cautious and made me go to L& D. When I got there I was 1-2 cm and they admitted me to keep me on strict bedrest and our boys came 3 days later anyway. So, if you want to keep them in as long as possible don't do a thing!! I was only allowed up to pee, no shower or anything else. On the day I was admitted they gave me steroids as well for the boys lung development. Good luck and please stay off your feet!!!

Ryann, I would push for steroids shots, just in case. Since they are twins you have to be more cautious. I see a lot of babies in the NICU, born around the time you are, and they sometimes struggle a bit with their breathing. It's nothing like what we have experienced...but just in case I think it's worth asking about. It's better to err on the side of caution when it comes to our kiddos. Good luck. For now, lay low, but be vigilant and watchful and don't wait if you even think things are progressing. Will be praying they stay put, but I think they will be here before 36 weeks. :) Good Luck!

Ryan

I am not sure if they can honestly predict how long it will take for you to go into full labor but I am with the girls on being cautious. In my previous pregnancy I stayed 1cm for 2 weeks before dilating further but I was resting all the time. If I were you I would definitely get the steroid shots just in case My doctor mentioned doing a second round of steroid shots if my cervix changes any next week so I would ask. You are already on bedrest so has the doctor suggested procardia maybe? it has been a godsend for me and kept my cervix the same for almost 3 weeks. Anyways I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that Dylan and Bella stay put for another few weeks.

AFM I had my OB appt today for the first time in 2 weeks (my doc was on vacation and I don't like to see anyone else in the practice) so he says "wow you guys made it to July I was worried you had delivered already" I did not realize how close we had been lol anyways the good news is that baby Paul is over 4 lb and doing great, my cervix is holding and procardia is doing its job and we are very hopeful to make 34/35 weeks (although I am hoping to make it all the way to 37/39 weeks)

ryann......I agree with mellow.....get the steroid shot. My Ob and mfm sent me to l&d just because my cervix went from 3 to 2.2. I got the steroid shot and have to go for non stress test til they're born. My Ob said you couldn't get the steroid shot after 34 weeks. Please call and get more info.

Ryann - I have a feeling you'll be meeting Bella & Dylan before 36 weeks. I'm in agreement with everyone though, get the steroid shots now while you still can to help their lungs mature (I was also told during my L&D stay that they don't do them after 34 weeks.) It's just 2 IM injections given 24 hours apart. And then just be super, duper lazy girl. Your little ones are good weights and will probably do just fine if you deliver early but it certainly won't hurt to be as strict as you can with the bedrest. Thinking of you!!

Chris - Congrats on joining Team Blue!! Do you & DH have any names picked out for your little guy?

Rio - Don't those contractions drive you crazy? It's like do I call? Do I not? I'm glad I didn't bother Sunday when mine were really acting up but it gets frustrating wondering and second guessing yourself.

Lou - Hope you have a great time at the concert! Rock on! :D

Blair - Definitely do another belly pic soon! I love seeing everyone's bump pics...it's just so great to see everyone getting bigger and looking beautiful with that pregnancy glow.

Leora - Love the bump pic at the zoo!! How adorable having that penguin in the pic and you are looking FANTASTIC! 7/7 would have been an awesome b-day, but yep, I'm still doing my happy dance at Maribel's new arrival date.

Annashope - Awesome report that your cervix is still holding steady! Love to read that great news from you.

Stephanie - OMG those boys of you are soooo darn cute! Keep those pictures coming and I hope you can get some rest in.

Amanda Argh yes, I go insane thinking do I call or not. How did you figure it out? I guess I just went the route that if they are going to deliver her now if she comes and not try to stop then maybe I should wait and make sure it is real labor? I just don't know, I could have sworn it was labor since it hurt and it was regular but then again I went to sleep and woke up with no baby being born ;) I wish there was some clear sign! THis is crazy, I had nothing of this sort with DS.

Ryann I am praying they stay put for another couple of weeks! I am with the girls and ask for the shot!!!

Annas - great news on your cervix

I don't mean to sound weird, I was really devastated when we found out we had a vanishing twin and I still think of her/him and wonder, I always will. But on the other hand I have to say that I am glad I don't have a complicated pregnancy right now where I need to be on bedrest, I honestly don't know how I could do this without everything falling apart (my poor DH has a really bad back due to a car accident and poor guy lives in pain). You girls on bedrest are very strong in my opinion!

Thanks for all the advice and thoughts ladies. I ended up having my OB paged because I had 22 contractions over a 4 hour time span. He said to give it another 2 hours and if I get more over the next 2 hours then to head to L&D. I will definitely ask for the steroid shot. I guess I'm just confused because only some of them are crampy and some are just tight. They aren't gettin stronger or closer together or anything, just kind of sporadic. Rio I wish I had that "you're in labor" lght rght now!!!

Ryan and anyone else who wants a clear sign about labor...

With my son my contractions did not become crampy or painful until I was 4 cm dilated so it you are having BH that are more or less regular call your doc

Anna is right about the contractions...they are just tight in the beginning. They can be making changes to your cervix, and so can the pressure of carrying twins. I'd go in and get on the monitors. If I hadn't gone in when I didm it would have been too late and I would have delivered Marlo 2 weeks earlier. Not good!

Good Luck Ryann...stay hydrated, and off your feet. Better yet go in. :)

Rio - Mine were painful Sunday, for 10 hours, but weren't regular so it was kind of the opposite of what I've had the last few weeks (where they've been regular but just uncomfortable.) I almost reached for the phone a few times that day. Then I just decided to just go to bed and if they got worse overnight or my water broke, we'd have our answer. But like you, they dissipated. Crazy stuff! I mean I know I can't dilate with the TAC more than a teeny-tiny bit but I guess the cervix can pull down through the band so I don't want things to get that far. I'll just be happy when I get to Tuesday morning and don't have to worry about contractions and such anymore.

And I agree on the vanishing twin feelings. Our twin never developed beyond a yolk sac and I often wonder about "what if" it had developed. Then I think it all happened the way it did so Maribel would have a better chance, particularly with my non-existent cervix. Between the vanishing twin, our 2 e/p's and our chemical, I like to think Maribel has 4 little angels making sure she'll get here ok.

Ryann: you need to go to L&D now!! You're having lots of contractions, lost your mucous plug which can lead to amniotic fluid loss and are only 32 weeks. The babies need the steroid shots to avoid being placed on a machine to help them breathe. Your doctor doesn't sound like he's dealt with twin pregnancies much. My contractions weren't painful when I was admitted, I felt alot of tightening and was a little crampy and I went from 2-6 cm in 3 hours. Please don't wait any longer, I'll be praying for you.

Hi ladies, I'm on my phone so I'm sorry for the lack of personals. I went to L&D delivery last night and they monitored the 3 of us. Whatever I'm feeling isn't even registering on the contraction monitor. I made no change from my doc appt, still 1cm and 50% effaced. The nurse mentioned that I have VERY active babies and no fluff between me and then, so I will feel everything. She called my doc though and he said to make sure I know that I'm on STRICT bedrest now. It's not just about my heartrate anymore it's about keeping them cooking. No steroid shots either. And my doctor is THE doctor to go to in this area if you are having multiples. Even the perinatologist said this, so I do fully trust him. I appreciate all of your thoughts and advice...I have no clue what I'm doing with this whole pregnancy thing :)
