Blair - I hadn't been to the local zoo in a while and they made major renovations and it's amazing! There is also a ton of places to sit in the shade, picnic spots, playgrounds and a nice wide paved walkway! I totally think I'll be going with the stroller, even if the babies are too young to appreciate it! Browsing is super fun - we haven't bought anything yet (except our Baby Jogger City Elite stroller, because my mom found a floor model on sale). But I'm doing a TON of "research" (ie, shopping!)
Lou - hope you had a great time at the concert! Want to know a weird fact about me? I've never been to a concert. (Well... does the opera or symphony count?) Which is really weird, since I'm a huge music fan. I keep saying that I want to plan my next trip back to the USA to coincide with one of my favorite artists' concerts - so I can finally go to one! Also - you look great! Congrats on 25 weeks!
Ryann - I also would ALWAYS suck it up and go to work if I was only a little sick - so I could save my sick days for 'mental health days'. DH and I used to coordinate when we would be 'sick' together! I used to have to take 'sick days' for my IVF retrievals and transfers -- which really annoyed me. Those days are super stressful - I needed mental health days AFTER those!
Gina - 5+ hours a night? That's fantastic! I hope *you* are getting that much sleep!
Rio - don't worry about scaring me - I know plenty of people with toddlers! I knew to be scared already!

btw, I totally get how much you can miss the 'vanishing twin' you lost. That was a baby, and that baby is gone. That's very sad. A 'vanishing twin' is a unique kind of mourning, since you mourn the one you lost, but are still super happy that the other baby is doing well. You also mourn not only the baby you lost, but the whole experience of parenting twins. My husband and I talk about how much we wish this had been a singleton pregnancy, just so we would have fewer complications and fewer risks and fewer worries -- but as soon as we saw those 2 flickering heartbeats on the u/s at 6.5 weeks, we totally fell in love with both of them. I think everyone prefers a singleton pregnancy (except those who REALLY don't know any better!), but twins is a special opportunity - which you had for a few weeks and then lost. <big big hugs>
Anna - great news from your OB appt! You made it to July!
SD - bunk beds? That's so exciting! A friend of mine just bought bunk beds for her two boys (aged 2.5 and 1.5 -- and #3 is coming in August) -- so cute! How is your son enjoying his 'big boy' bed?
Amanda - I don't really know what I believe about life after death (especially the hazy part for babies born before they had the chance to live) which really bothers me. I wish I knew where all the babies I've lost are. But I also believe very deeply that those lost babies are watching over us and know how much we love them and miss them. ---- 2 more days until Maribel is here!
Barbara - Brooke is BEAUTIFUL! Amazing! You look great too! Congrats!
Alisa - it's always super scary to stop the progesterone - but I've never had any problems. How nice not to have that icky mess all the time, right? Congrats on reaching 'double digits' - 10 weeks!
Mellow - She is sooo precious. Your life seems WAAAAY overwhelming! I hope you get enough 'me time' so you can relax.
AFM - today's a quite scary day... in the middle of the night between 21w5d and 21w6d is when my water broke last time around. I'm praying today/tomorrow is as uneventful as possible.
I went into the on-call doctor this morning. I woke up yesterday and felt like I had a UTI (urge to pee all the time, burning while I pee, etc). The dip-stick test came up clear, but we are doing a culture just to check. Not a big deal, but just something else on my mind.
I have a question about the steroid shots --- any disadvantages to getting them? Why aren't they routinely given to women carrying twins around 25ish weeks or so - just in case?
Otherwise - I'm feeling good. It's HOT, DAMN HOT -- so I'm staying inside in front of my fan and drinking lots of ice water!
