Steph so glad to hear the shower went well despite a few probs. though i cant believe they didnt have the decorations up! I hope those bh ease off for you i know they are supposed to be harmless but i am sure scary none the less. I hope you get your dresser soon esp. with twins you need to be organised!
Katie thankfully between my mam and jason no washing floors for me!! I can only imagine how awkward it must be cause i seem to be constantly dropping things and its such a pain to bend over to pick it up. My mam is in great form and started a hamper for Kayla when i was 16 wks plus she bought us the crib my sisters keep buying things too seems like she is going to be spoilt. As for my furninture i will ring tomorrow as its a long wkend here, it better arrive soon sure its nearly 4 wks since i ordered and i know jason is sooooo looking foward to putting it together Sorry to hear your heartburn is kicking ass thankfully i havent had it yet!!
Angela dont worry Kayla isnt a morning person either she might give the odd nudge but doesnt really start kicking till after 1pm most days.
Claud you must be relieved to finally get to relax and put those feet up hows flick doing??
babyluv 30lbs sounds on target but wait until those little ones really start piling on the pounds!!! I think i am up about 18lbs by now.
Emerald i was wondering how you were, glad to hear all is ok and everything went well with the anatomy scan. Moving so such fun isnt it!!
Lou best of luck with ER tomorrow cant wait to hear your numbers xxx
AFM so one wedding down 4 to go well actually 3 as i am not attending one as my friend and jasons friend are getting married on same day so we going seperatly but the worst part of that is jasons brother is getting married the very next day uggh the thoughts of it, i was wreaked from the wedding on Sat they are so long drawn out over here esp when not drinking!! so i left after 9. Wonder how i will cope with 2 weddings at 30wks pg and those chairs at the reception were so uncomfortable i had ligament pain all day at least for jasons bro. we are staying overnight in the hotel so i can slip away for a while. I have to agree with everyone about sleep being a thing of the past between peeing at least 4 times a night and not been able to get comfortable though i really dont mind as not working and last night when i went to bed Kayla decided it was wakey time and kicked for about an hour i just love lying there feeling her move about.

7th IVF finally our precious miracle girl Kayla born 24/11/10, 8th IVF FET Sept 2012 BFP!!!
Its TRIPLETS!!!!
Natasha – I am glad that you feel better about your shower. You and your DH deserve it. So enjoy it!
Emerald – That is great news that your placenta previa is almost gone! We understand that is difficult to catch up, especially after being gone for awhile. I am just happy that you and the baby are doing well. Keep us posted!
Katie – yes, I understand not sleeping very well at night. I always say I am on bathroom patrol because it is at least 2 to 4 times a night. So you can imagine the next day I am dragging and exhausted about 3 or 4pm!
Stephanie – I love reading how you ladies are feeling because I have noticed for the last week or two that my stomach feels the same way. It is being stretched so much and the cocoa butter/lotion for pregnancy does seem to help but I noticed it’s getting worse and so is the soreness. I am curious just like you regarding her size. I guess I will find out next Monday. Gabriella seems so much bigger than Ashley was but you never know.
Gi – I am not sure how you are sitting there for the weddings and three more to go … wow! My DH came home on Friday and said that we have been invited to another wedding. So, I said “when is it” he said “late October”! I told him to forget it. I will be over 30 weeks pregnant and way too uncomfortable. He just started laughing because he knew I would say that. My DH is a big jokester and is always making me laugh, which I need because sometimes I am too serious!
AFM – Well, I am happy to say that this week’s u/s went well. Gabriella was moving around and had a hand under her chin … lol … like she was thinking! I will be ecstatic once my fetal Doppler gets her tomorrow! I hope you ladies are having a happy Monday!

gi - Oh, I know what you mean about piling it on as the babies start picking up weight! I'm thinking 50 pounds will be here before I know it! Good luck getting through the rest of the weddings! We have one to attend in 2 1/2 weeks for which I was asked to be the photographer. I dabble, but not a professional by any means (I was very flattered when she asked). I am SOO glad I said no! I have no idea how I would have been able to do it!
Steph - Your shower sounds super eventful!! lol! I can't believe those guys not watching their kids. DH and I laugh because when our friends get together, it seems like the women always chat and the men are on kid duty. Some people need to learn to take responsibility for their own kids. BUT, you still had fun and got great stuff, so that is wonderful. Now to just sit back and wait for those babies! BTW, I've been having a bunch of BH today, I think because I was in the car for almost 4 hours. They are much better now since I've taken a nap, but I tend to get way more than 10 a day. Usually 2 an hour when lying down, more if I'm up too much. I'm going to make sure they check my cervix at every u/s, but last time it looked good. They are still scary though! And WOW for Alex losing her last baby tooth! I had to have SIX of mine pulled when I was 13 before I could get my braces on.
Katie - You are so close girl! Sad that it just gets more uncomfortable from here, but soon you will have Savannah in your arms!
Angela - Let us know how you like the doppler! I feel my twinnies every day and I still will use it! Not as much as I did before, but every now and then when they go into hiding. It's nice to be reassured.
AFM - We just spent a few days over in Ft. Myers visiting with some friends (they've been struggling for 3 1/2 years on the baby front). DH had to speak over there, so we all went will him. Had a great time, but I started having a lot of BH contractions and I was super uncomfortable on the drive back, so I'm glad my long trips are over until after the babies are here. DH took the week off so we are going tomorrow after my regular OB check (midwife again because OB is out of town) to a resort in Palm Coast which is just over an hour from here. THAT I can handle Beach, spa, pool, regular and mini golf course, etc. We are just staying for two nights and I will be breaking out the new bathing suit. I actually wore it this weekend, just never got in the pool. Hoping to spend a little time reading under an umbrella on the beach! Then we have two more weeks and the kids are back at preschool! This summer has flown by so fast.
Oh, and would you believe that I got an email saying Scarlett's bedding shipped! HA! So much for 2 months! I'm really excited. I think it will be in this week. Now I will just be waiting on the shams which are on backorder until the end of August, but that's OK! The quilt is what I really wanted now.
Her birthday is in three weeks and I think I am going to take her for a pedicure. I am so excited about it! But, I have been spending so much time thinking about HER birthday, that I forgot next week I turn the big 3-0! Then DH and I celebrate 7 years at the end of this month. Yay, a lot going on in August.
natasha10 wrote:stephanie i wont let her steal my spotlight oh no. im now thinking of what to do for my bday thursday preggo. i guess just go out to dinner
Oh, Natasha I have the same problem. I just celebrated my sister's birthday Friday and I was the designated driver! Now, my birthday is coming up next month and it will be even harder. Oh well, I will celebrate in December I suppose. Happy early birthday!!!
Angela -- Thanks for your kind words and for all of your support. The pic in my signature was taken in Santorini, Greece. One of our favorite places. It was an amazing time. I will definitely keep you updated. I want nothing more than to come back over to this side of the boards. Hopefully I can bring some good new friends with me.
Katie -- LOL... I love that you are stalking me this cycle! Thanks for the photo and DH compliments. Roxy and I had a great time at the show. We met a 7 year old girl named Sidney who hung out with us for the evening. She was so pretty and smart. I know she was sitting with me because I had a cute dog, but her company was a lot of fun. We talked about everything from our favorite color to the perils of second grade. Every now and then one of her parents would stop by and check on her... but they didn't seem to mind that she wanted to sit with Roxy and I. Roxy was super tough to control until she got to be about 5 years old. Now that she's 7, she's mellowed out a bit. By all means, she's not slowing down... she just doesn't act completely crazy anymore. I love mastiff's... they're so cute. You guys must really love big dogs. I know you also had a Great Dane. Another awesome breed. We love our Boxer, she's family.
Gi -- Thank you for the luck. I will update you girls when I have some good news. I told DH I'm not taking "no" for an answer this cycle. So there!

Lou - OMG, how did I miss your post?? I am living up to the blonde pollock aren't I? lol Good luck tomorrow! I want to hear that you have many perfect mature eggs! Then of course all of them will fertilize! And without a doubt, after that you will be telling us the good news that you are pg! Gosh I am so excited for you!! Lots of love and baby dust to you my friend!

TWINS!! Born 10/13/10 Ethan Andrew and Angelina Lilly
I had a few minutes before work so I figured I would check in on everyone!!
Katie-Naps have become apart of my day routine as well the past few weeks. With waking up in the middle of the night and the heat wave I need my 30-40 minute catnaps!!! I used to have the hardest time falling asleep at night if I had a nap and now I am still going to be earlier than in the past! Guess it's my body's way of telling me I need the sleep. Unfortunately the past few days I have developed a small head cold that I'm fighting by drinking tons of fluids!! hopefully it leaves in the next day or so!
Steph-So happy to hear about your shower minus the few glitches but then again those things happen all the time and make the events more memorable! I'm bummed that Andrew missed the gift part of it Being Jewish, we don't typically have showers so I love hearing about them! We either have a baby naming party for the girl or a bris for the boy but you don't get that excitement of opening up the gifts in front of everyone and having it be about the pregnant mommy!!! It's probably better that way since even at my wedding shower I had all the ladies open up a gift and present it to the group so I didn't have to be the center of attention for too long!!!
Babyluv-I can't wait to see your updated pics of the belly! I'm nervous for my DR apt tomorrow to see how much I gained!!! I have never seen those type of numbers on the scale and it freaks me out!!! I'm so happy that Scarlett's bedding is coming in much sooner than expected and I can't wait to see pics!! I have been looking online at baby bedding to get ideas! I'm in the mindset to get gender neutral (like ivory and brown) and then once we know the gender accessorize with colored pillows and artwork!!! I love decorating but this seems to be a challenge for me!!!
Gi-4 weddings??? That's crazy! The thought of putting on heels and dancing makes me tired just thinking about it! How did your dress hunt go? What did you decide on? I hope that Kayla's furniture gets here ASAP so J can have a project the next few weeks!!!
Angela-So glad your u/s looks good!!! I'm so excited to hear the details for your upcoming shower....must make it so real!!! I got a book as a present on getting baby stuff for discounts and when I started to read it this morning I felt so overwhelmed!!! I need to begin to tackle this stuff so that I have time to prepare myself mentally! I think I'm going to go with my mom since she loves this stuff and my DH would get bored after an hour! All he wants is a running stroller and a backpack for the baby to go hiking with! We are very into the outdoors and he is an intense athlete!!
Natasha-I agree with the other women that this is your time and that sharing a baby shower would take something away from the occasion for you. I see that you are almost in your second trimester which is very exciting!!! I am counting down the days till I am officially in my third trimester
AFM-I have my OBGYN apt with the third DR in the practice (she delivered my SIL twice) and I know the apts only last a few minutes but I'm excited to hear Flicks's hb and to ask some questions about what to expect the upcoming weeks! Flick has been moving around like CRAZY!! It is so exciting and reassuring!! So the bigger I am getting the more people are predicting girl!! I don't think I'm particularly carrying like a girl but 90% of the guesses are girl! So I have sort of convinced myself we are having a girl so I will be surprised (pleasantly) if we have a boy!!!!
I'm thinking about ordering a foot messager since that seems to be my only real issue right now. My heels kill me by the end of the day and DH doesn't like to rub them unless I am right out of the shower!!! hehe! I officially had to buy maternity shorts since my butt has gotten bigger and I can't get away with wearing my regular shorts so I'm slowly but surely going into all maternity clothes!!

angela- aww im glad you had a good u/s and gabriella is great. thanks im thinking just to go out to eat with friends and family and then to a nice calm and relaxing lounge if they want to drink for a bit and dance, then just call it a nite. DH got me concert tickets in a few weeks so we'll go to chicago for that so im fine with not doing a whole lot.
my mom actually told me that she will give my sister a little something with our close family and her friends but nothing big so she's going to do it the month before so in oct. so oh well. hopefully my sister will be happy with that.
claudia- yay for the 2nd trimester for me and whoo hoo for you in the 3rd. your almost there getting closer to have your baby in you hands.
Good morning ladies. Sorry I haven't been around for a week. I have been reading and trying to keep up. My trip to London was uneventful except for a lack of sleep because I have to pee all night long. LOL
Natasha- I too am in awe of your sis. She is having her 3rd? And having another shower? I know I'm new to this baby thing but I thought we only got a shower for the first baby??? You stick to your guns about when your shower is! You get the limelight this time honey!!!! It is your turn!
Stephanie- I'm so glad your shower went well. I love the idea of a scavenger hunt but more than likely my shower will be in Jan. in PA. BURRRRR COLD! I can't believe those guys not watching their kids. I would have a nervous breakdown and then turn into Linda Blair!!!!!! Complete with head spin!!! LOL I hope those BH slow down soon. Sounds absolutely nerve racking!
gi- That is a lot of weddings! Good luck! I have one to go to the day before New Year's Eve in the Hamptons. Never been to the Hamptons so I have to go! However, I'll be 34 weeks! Maybe I will be too tired. I guess we shall see.
Angela- I'm glad your u/s went well this week. Thinking...that sounds so cute. Have fun with your doppler. I still don't know if I will order one. They do sound like fun though!
Emerald- I'm happy that the previa is gone. What a relief huh??? I'd love to go in tomorrow and find out that my cyst is gone!
Katie- Sorry about the heartburn hon. I have found a new love in berry flavored tums! I've been having weird pg dreams too. Wait till you hear about last night's! LOL
AFM- Well tomorrow is the day that I go to the perinatal center for the 12w scan. I was wrong about which test it is. It's a sequential screen. I guess a quad screen is done later when you are farther along. Anyhow, the Dr wants them to pay attention to the cyst. My bff (besides all of you is convinced the Dr will say the cyst is gone. I hate to be negative but I just can't let myself get that hopeful because I don't want to be let down. I just hope they have positive news for me. Luckily it is at 830am so I won't have to wait long to find out results.
***Last night I had the strangest dream. I was at Michaels (arts and crafts store for those who don't live in the US) and I was looking at letters and fabric. I found a V and had to let Katie know. LOL I have no idea where that came from. But the really cool part was that I was looking for needlepoint christmas stockings to work on and I had a big pregnancy tummy. SO maybe it means that everything will be ok and tomorrow will turn out just fine. I also kept looking at needlepoint that was ocean themed and for some reason I knew I was having a boy. Like I said....very WEIRD DREAM!
I guess that's all. Have a wonderful day ladies! I'll update you as soon as I get home tomorrow!

Hi ladies, the wanderer returns! DH and I had a great week away last week, but it seemed to pass in the blink of an eye! We stayed at a couple of different places, one a small country pub/inn and one a hotel, both in a really pretty part of the UK (actually, we weren't too far from Stratford, so there were a fair few tourists about doing the Shakespeare thing). We played golf twice (buggies both times so that I didn't have to walk for 4 hours, as the Cotswolds is pretty hilly) and pottered round a few different towns on the other days. All in all, pretty chilled.
I'm 35 weeks today (OMG, where has the time gone...) and I've finally run out of energy. In the last few days, my morning sickness has been threatening to come back (apparently, it can do in the third trimester, which just doesn't seem right!) and I just want to sleep all the time. So it's bye bye to the days of feeling fairly energetic and able to do lots of stuff - it was good while it lasted! I have my growth scan tomorrow, followed straight away by an appointment with the hospital consultant, so we'll find out how much Zorba is weighing and what they recommend we do about inducing early etc. I've been crossing my fingers that he/she will have slowed down on the growing front a bit in the 4 weeks since the last scan, but my stomach seems to have got even bigger over the last week so if anything I think the baby's had a growth spurt. We'll find out tomorrow... I put a waterproof sheet under our top sheet on the bed last night in case my waters break overnight, and have started thinking about packing a hospital bag this week. On Thursday we get a delivery of the buggy and car seat, and that'll be the last of the big baby stuff, so lots of little things are making it all seem quite real and very close, but still I'm having a hard time believing that the baby could be here in less than 5 weeks!
As far as things with my Dad go, he had a hospital appointment last week and the doctors suggested putting him back on chemo, but at a 75% dose this time. They couldn't however give him any guarantees that he wouldn't feel as ill/tired or that he wouldn't have as bad an allergic reaction as the first time around, and in any even the chemo wasn't ever guaranteed to buy him any extra months anyway beyond early next summer, so he has decided to call it a day on treatment and to make the most of the time he has left. So my parents have booked a holiday, they go on a 2 week cruise round the Mediterranean starting this Saturday, and then I think they plan to be around to look after the dogs for us around baby delivery time, and to be able to visit us afterwards to see their grandchild and give support if we want it (rather than be tied to their home for regular chemo). I'm hoping that after that they might take themselves off on holiday again and just enjoy themselves. I think all in all, it was the right decision for Dad - we have to hope that he carries on feeling physically able to do things for as long as possible, we just don't know how he's going to feel as the cancer takes its course.
babyluv - hope your app't went well today.
Steph - I'm so pleased that the shower went well, although WTF about people not making sure that the shower girl got fed, about the host not getting Andrew to come in for the present opening and about the parents who seem to be totally relaxed about their kids trashing your house (that bit of the story reminded me of the BBQ you had not so long ago...)??? Oh honey, crappy news about Andrew's deployment, but on the positive side at least it won't be for 9 months after the babies come. I think I'm going to have to join katie in coming over to give your Dad's wife a slap. Still no dresser, seriously??? I love your nursery colours, doesn't it feel great to just stand in the doorway and look at the nursery stuff? I keep doing that with our room! Did your brother get the all clear yet? I've been thinking of him.
natasha - like the others, I was surprised they were thinking of changing your dates as they should be fixed because of the IVF. Mine certainly were, so when they started saying that maybe the dates were wrong because the baby looked big, I told them that we knew the exact age of the embryo/foetus because of the IVF process.
PA_FA - I'm so sorry to read about the umbilical cyst. It's not anything I know about, but I'm praying that your screening tomorrow will bring better news.
gi - your poor baby dog, hope he's recovering fast from his stroke. Glad to hear you got through the first wedding, you'll be exhausted by the time you get the last one out of the way! What wedding outfits did you find in the end? Any chance you can lend Jason out to paint my toenails as well? My DH could definitely not be trusted with a bottle of nail varnish in his hand! I know what you mean about shaving legs getting difficult - I went to pregnancy yoga last night for the first time in a month and it was quite a challenge to do the stuff which involves bending over, given that I now have a very large 35 week belly to manoevre! Is there any news on the nursery furniture?
katie - haha, I think we're going to have some issues as well with getting the dogs to respect and leave the baby toys alone, and vice versa with the baby and the dog toys! I'm with you on playtime not necessarily being top of the priorities at the moment. But apparently there are prostaglandins in sperm which soften the cervix and can help labour start naturally(prostaglandins are also given in pessary form as the first stage of trying to induce labour in the UK), so DH is probably going to be a lucky boy in the next few weeks as I start doing anything I can think of to get this Michelin Baby to come a little early!! So is Savannah less active at the moment? My midwife said to expect that in the third trimester, and as long as I could feel a movement each day, it was fine. But I think if anything, I'm feeling Zorba more and more. I've assumed it's probably because as the amniotic fluid reduces in volume over the last few weeks of the pregnancy, there's less to cushion the movements so while the baby is moving the same amount, I can feel it a lot more. Re your question of what to wash stuff in, we've been advised non-biological washing powder (and no fabric softener) for clothes and bedding etc (reduces likelihood of ecszma and allergies apparently) and that until the baby is 6 months, all bottles/teats/breast pump etc must be sterilised properly every time after they've been through the dishwasher or washed by hand. We've bought an electric steriliser which holds 6-8 bottles, but I think they come in all shapes and sizes. Umm, and about whether the heartburn is here to stay - sorry to break the bad news, but mine has been pretty constant for the last 8 weeks or so, gets a little worse each week and wakes me up in the middle of most nights with acid reflux.
claudia - good luck with your scan tomorrow. How funny that people are predicting girl for you and DH - since we found out that Zorba is Michelin Baby, everyone tells me it must be a boy (because of the beer belly, haha!), plus they reckon I'm carrying low which must also mean a boy. Who knows whether any of this means anything...
angela - not long now until your anatomy scan and then you can find out for sure that Gabriella is a Gabriella and get buying! And I know that everyone else has already replied, but yes the sharp shooting pains are normal - expect to get them on and off throughout, particularly if you move or twist too quickly, but a call to the OB never hurts if it eases your mind. And if the pain is ever prolonged or accompanied by bleeding, then that would be different and definitely something to take action on.
Emerald - what great news about the previa! Hope you settle in to your new house well, look forward to you coming back to play on the thread!
lou - thinking of you today and keeping everything tightly crossed! Let us know how you get on... Love your Santorini photo - we went there a few years ago and absolutely loved the island.

PA_FA - I've just been using any old rich moisturing cream or body butter after my morning shower, nothing which is specifically sold for stretch marks. So far I've escaped, but I've heard a few stories of people thinking they're getting away with it and then waking up one morning at 38 weeks etc and finding that they've suddenly appeared! From everything I've read though, stretch marks happen at a really deep subcutaneous level, so if you're going to get them you're going to get them, regardless of how much moisturising you do. But I figure it doesn't hurt to put the stuff on anyway!

Steph-- You are too funny! BTW, I'm a blonde polack as well. I'm half Polish and half Norwegian actually. <muah>
Today was ER and boy am I sore. The good news is we got 10 eggs. The most I've ever had before this was 7 and only 4 were mature. I think there's a good chance 8 or 9 of these will be mature. We are doing ICSI again because DH's quality was crappy. Cross your fingers for a good fert report for me tomorrow.
Love you all dearly and appreciate all of your support. Many of you made this cycle possible by donating your leftover meds to me. I will never forget your generosity and promise to pay it forward someway somehow.
Too tired and sore for personals right now. Gonna go get some rest.
XOXO
