Hi Guys, I had egg collection today - they managed to get 1 on the first side (DH thought they were playing a joke on him when they said they had only 1 ).... but thankfully they got 6 on the other side. So hopefully our 7 little beanies are starting to do their thing and I get a positive fert report tomorrow morning.

I'm feeling really tender - I didn't think I would feel this sore !!!

Hey Arizona

Here I go again crashing into another thread! (Although being an Aussie I think I'm allowed in here!) Well done on EC...7 is great, poor DH being frightened like that though!

Good luck with the fert report as well, I hope that your 7 beanies are dividing magnificently...

As far as being tender goes, I remember after my EC being very surprised as how much pain I was in. I recall being in bed for two to three days and taking panadol every four hours (I had my stopwatch on so I could tell exactly when I could have my next dose!) Hope you feel better soon. It will pass.

Hi to all the other Aussie girls!

Hi guys,

Angela - well done on 7! Thats a great number to work with.....lets hope they all fertilise and you can freeze a heap for future brothers and sisters! Sorry that you are feeling sore, take it easy and be well rested when they put your babies back in. When is transfer day and how many are you putting back? Whats the legal limit in NZ?

Fiona - Don't apologise for crashing us - you are more than welcome. I see by your ticker that you are 17 weeks. Well done you! How many attempts did it take you and do you know what you are having?

Angie - great to hear from you. how are you feeling? When do you go again?

Kery - Has AF reared her ugly head yet? This is the only time that I wish she would hurry up for you!

Hi everyone else.....bbbrrrrr! Hasn't it got cold suddenly in Bris-vegas? Go the Blues tonight (I was born and raised in NSW - I have to stay true to my roots!).

Love Em

Hi guys
Angela it was great to read that you got 7 eggs, well done!!

AF arrived yesterday and boy did she arrive (the flood gates opened!). I went for blood tests and I will start injecting on Saturday. Im starting a few days late to time when DH flys back in.

Em it sure is getting cooler but compared to NZ it's nothing!! Glad those bubs of yours are still snuggled in there.

Hi Fiona welcome aboard.

Just a quick note - I had to go to work today (really wanted to stay home), have had to bring some home tonight and have a 7am meeting tomorrow morning I can't get out of either (ugh.....) Dreadful timing and I really feel like curling up in bed and sleeping. I am surprised how tender I am still feeling.

5 Surrived last night so we have 5 little fighters growing into our little beanies. They will be putting one back on Friday morning (they will only let us put one back if you are under 35 with public funding in NZ). Our RE was originally from Hungary. DH was talking to him and everyone is entitled to 5 fully funded cycles over there !!!!

Well I had better do a couple of other quick posts and then get on with the work I need to do.... hard to get motivated...

Catch you with you all tomorrow night

Love Angela

Hi guys,

Cheeky - I have been told that the Mater is the best in Brissy, so I would rest assured you are in safe hands. Are you going private or public? At our antenatal classes (which we found excellant) they showed us through the birthing suites and we were impressed. I had to be admitted back at 18 weeks due to hyperemesis gravitas and had a private room which was really nice. They seem to encourage active births rather than lie on the bed in stirrups which gives the woman more freedom to do what she wants and needs to get through labour.

Angela - hey 5 is still a good number! Especially if you are only able to use one at a time...you have 4 more tries for siblings. I'm sorry that you have to work in between. Try and put your feet up as much as you can and let DH pamper you. Its a shame that the government puts such silly stipulations on IVF cycles - every case is different.

Kery - Am so happy that AF co-operated but sorry she is being so mean to you. Now you can get started and soon you will be doing the positive preg test jig!

Nothing new here. Its my 31st birthday on monday (28th) and everyone keeps saying they'll come then. I hope not - can you imagine sharing your birthday with two other family members?

Take care,
Em

Hi Jomae, good to hear from you!

Angela, how did transfer go? I hope you are lying back letting DH wait on you hand and foot. I remember the day of my transfer, the nurses led us back to the recovery room where I was given a stiff brandy! It seemed to do the trick though!

Hello fellow Southerners

Arizona, how are you going?? have you had ET yet and did you get to freeze any embies. Sorry you had to work the day after EC, OUCH! Not good.

Em, hi how are you going I see you are about to "pop". Congratulations. Yep I'm pretty happy to be 17weeks along. I've been incredibly nervous the whole time though. Today I had this pressure feeling in what I thought to be my cervix area. I got to have a quick scan to make sure all was OK and it was. Before having my scan I had googled my problem and diagnosed myself with cervical incompetance! Have to stop looking on the internet! I got preg on my second try. First fresh cycle was a bust but my second FET was a winner! Am very happy! Just found out we are having a boy (well 80% sure of that!).

Hey Kery, good to see another Perth girl here. Glad to hear you are on track for your cycle...

Hello Jomae, thanks for the congrats. How are you going??

Take care everyone, Fee

Hi Fee,

I know all about the nervous thing...I have just had another night of no sleep and I am exhausted. I can't seem to switch my brain off. All I think about is the babies and when they are going to come. I feel like I am going crazy!

Hi Girls

Happy Birthday Em! Hope your day goes well.

Angela - how is it going? Did the ET go well? Five is a great number. I had 3 embryos and had 1 put in and well, you know the rest. (In NZ they can only put in one embyo in women under 35). Remember, it only takes one! We still have two left in the freezer for later.

Oh you girls from Brisbane will have to stop moaning about the cold! Try living in the South Island of NZ! This morning it was 3 degrees at 7.30am and it will get colder yet. However, our high today will be 16 degrees and that is warm for winter - average for winter would be about 9 degrees. Everytime I go to Brizzy in winter I roast! Oh you are SO lucky!

Well I am back after being away at a conference. Conference was busy and as it lasted four days, they were feeding us. I survived on bread and fruit as everything else was a the type of food that s a no no - ie - chicken, shell fish and rare meat and prepared salads. Love being home so I can actually eat something!
Well, the most exciting thing. Had our first scan today and saw our little one with a teeny tiny little heart beating at 96 beats per minute!!! It was so little but is definitely there. As I have not felt pregnant yet, I am glad to see the scan today and realise that being pregnant is not all in my head after all!!! :D
Felt sick this morning but think it was nerves over the scan rather than morning sickness.
They gave me a date which is about a week and a half different from what I worked out. I thought we were about 7 weeks and 5 days but they say 6 weeks and 1 day.
Anyways, hello to all you girls - hope all is going well!
