Sorry! I am such a mess at the moment, I forgot to put the most important details in my birth announcement! Finn was 2.466Kg and Jasper was 2.338Kg. They have also graduated to Special Care 1, which is the where the healthiest babies are kept. If they can demand feed for 48 hours straight then we can do "rooming in" which is where I go back into hospital for two nights and the boys stay in my room and if there is no probs, they can ome home!
It is hard work, being up around the clock expressing to try and get my milk in...I am only getting 10mls every 3 hours. Then we spend every waking hour at the hospital. Its so distressing leaving them every night to go home, and even more so that I can't really feed them.
Listen to me. I honestly do know how lucky I am.
Love Em

It sounds like they are making huge progress. Before you know it you will have them home with you then you can get your own routine happening (if there is such a thing with twins!!) The milk thing can be a bit of a nightmare at the start but when your milk starts to flow the flood gates will open!! I found feeding very difficult and ended up going with the bottle. If you have a good support person that can give you some good advice you will be fine. I found it hard leaving my son at the hospital at nights too. By the sounds of things they were be home before you know it.
I would love to see the photo's how do I get to the photobucket? Is it on this site?
Love Kery

hi Em
Hey good to hear from you glad to hear the boys are moving up and almost out already it must be so hard for you to leave them of a night are you far away from the hospital. and as for the feeding thing it's definatley harder than everyone makes it out to be I managed to feed for 1 week well i tred for a week the poor little chop starved for a week as he had trouble latching on and my milk didn't come in properly either anyway I'm sure your doing just fine and as Kery said once the boys come home things will settle down and you'll feel more relaxed.
Anyway i have to go Ds is supporting his first blackeye this week he collected the window seal as he lost balance and has blackened his eye lid my boy is definately a boy rough and tumble see what fun you have to look forward to but with twice the dose (exciting hey)
Hello everyone else hope your all well oh i nearly forgot Em what good looking boys you and Dh must be proud
take care JOMAEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx
Sounds like your little boys are getting stronger by the day, you will have them home before you know it. I can just imagine how exciting it will be as you tuck them into their carseats drive home and tuck your little boys up in their own beds. It won't be long now. Take care and try and get plenty of sleep while you have the opportunity.
Lots of love and congratulations !!!!!

I'm doing good, I think we will give it another go in a couple of months, we have a follow up appointment on the 25th July and providing everything is ok and the outlook is optimistic we will give it another go.
I have also decided to resign form my job and go back to do some study for the next 12 months - it feels good to be making a decision to be moving forward and not just standing in a holding pattern waiting for IVF to work.
How are you doing?
Em - Just looked at your pic's your boys are so cute and look so alert.
Fiona - How are you doing? Do you know if you are having a boy or girl yet (or is it to soon to know ??)
Love to you all

Hey Em
Just looked at the photo's. The boys are soooo cute!!
Angela
Good on you for going back and doing some study. I think it gives you something else to focus on rather than ivf!! I know after a few cycles it seems to run your life between all the bloods, injections, snifing etc. When if's finshed you think now what!! I'm thinking about doing a bit more study as well. As far as the ivf we may look into going down the donor road. We meet with our doctor for a follow-up next month so we will ask a few more questions then.

None of our embies surrived so a doner may be our best option also. (need to ask the dr lots of questions) We have talked about it a little and DH asys he is ok with it. I am not sure how I would feel if the tables were turned and a baby was genetically his and not mine - so I don't know if it is a path we should go down...... DH's has a son in his 20's who offered to be a doner if the IVF didn't work - it was very kind of him and it would allow our child to be genetically related to my DH but I'm not sure if it it would all be to strange and complicated. Hopefully we won't have to cross that bridge and the Dr will have some answers so we can perhaps be 3rd time lucky.
Have a good evening

It has taken my DH a bit to get his head around having to use a donor.. If you were to ask me a few years ago I wouldn't have even considered it. We have still got a bit more talking and thinking to do about it. Do you think you might try another round of ivf?

I want to know a bit more about why the DR thinks none of the embryos surrived before we decide to go ahead but providing all our questions are answered Yes we will try another round of IVF.
I think we still have one more funded round avalible (I don't think our first one counted as it was cancelled just before EC).
It is cold over here !!!!! I need some warm weather!!!
Every morning Air NZ has "grab a Seat" fare (a limited number of discount tickets to diffetent places around NZ) Today they had some to Japan and we just managed to get some ($650 return - normally around $1800+) So we are heading off in August for a week - something good to look forward to - I am really excited about it, I think we are going to get a couple of train passes and explore some of the country rather than just staying in Tokyo.
We have 35 coming for a mid winter christmas on Saturday (we have a old homestead that we host functions, weddings and receptions for different organisations occasionally) so I'm going to get some things organised - I love the catering side of thing - my feet will be so sore come Saturday night!!! but it will all be posket money for our holiday.
Have a good afternoon, catch you later
Angela

I never seem to get a moment to come on anymore. The boys are home! we got them home on friday, aged 15 days old! Its great to have them home but very scary when yo think that just 17 days ago Finn wasn't breathing and now he is our care.
angela - enjoy your trip away....you will feel so much stronger for it.
Kery - I'm sorry that you are needing to go down the donor route but good on you for not giving up. We had decided that we would also try donor if it came to that...anything to make your dreams happen.
hi everyone else....sorry this is badly typed, but I am trying to calm Finn at the same time...not great at multitasking yet!

Glad to hear that you have your boys home with you now. I remember when I bought my son home I was thinking 'what now'. I had no idea what I was going to do with this tiny baby (being very young didn't help). Just remember to take help when it is offered to you. How is the feeding going? Did your milk come through? Are they sleeping well?
Angela - How did your mid winter christmas go? Good on you for going on a holiday, that gives you something to look forward to and maybe take your mind off ivf for a little while. Yep it's getting cold at nights here. When I talk to my family in NZ they say I have forgotten what cold is!!!
