Hi everyone,

Again, very quiet in here - I'm just as guilty, life seems to have sped up over the past few weeks.

I'm sorry but it's going to be all about me in this post - I've just come home from watching the Simpson's movie and it's quite late for a school night (spiderpig, spiderpig, I'm stuck with this song about spiderpig if you don't know of what I speak, watch the movie, then you'll know. Here comes a spiderpig...)

SD had his counselling session on Wednesday and was happy with the result - we're going in next Wednesday for the group session.

I'll catch up with personals on the weekend (promise!!)

Hope things are going well with you all!

Spiderpig, spiderpig, wish my brain would shut up about spiderpig...(hmm too much sugar...going to be interesting trying to sleep tonight...sorry if this post is a bit random...)

Hi Tanya, Kery and Donna - really love to hear from you and see where you are up to.

Sorry if my last post was a but manic - combination of watching a movie on a school night and too much sugar!!

Just letting you know that we've had the group counselling session (thank goodness) so the next step is ticked off.

SD's sperm comes out of quarantine late November, and then he has to do another blood test (which we weren't aware of). Then we have to have a group counselling session to talk about genetics, and then FINALLY that's it, we can go ahead with IUI.

So still looking at Dec/Jan at this stage.

Really would love to hear from the rest of you and see how you are going...should I start a new thread - is this one getting too long???

Let me know...

That is such a process just to get some freaking sperm!!! I mean really how come some chicks can go in to a bar and have a one night stand and get pg and you have to go through all of this just to try...unreal. I am looking forward to cheering you on though and it has been such a long time for you. I hope that it works and things are looking good for you!!! I am excited for you. So when do you think the IUI will be? How many samples do you have to work with? I don't think that you need to start a new one girl. I am good with it. Just been busy with not a whole lot going on.

I go in on Friday for my 15 week scan to see if things are doing well and to see what they are if they can...I know it is early. I am going to ask at any rate. Then I have my 4 month appointment in 2 weeks. I will be 17 weeks....I cant wait. I am doing well. Getting bigger by the day and I am nervous about what I am going to look like in a few months! With two babies in there and all.....It is fun......

How is everyone else??????

Hi girls!!

Gargy that's great news that things are finally starting to move along for you. Using donor sperm is such a long process!!!

Tanya well done getting to the 12 week mark. I bet you can't wait to see them on the scan. How are you feeling any morning sickness?

We went to see our new doctor on Monday. So I start cycling in the next few months. This clinic has also changed now with the donor process so I have to do it through a ivf cycle. Nevermind I am just happy that we found a clinic with donors!!

Take care girls

Hi Donna!! Hi Tanya!! Hi Kery!!

Donna - how are things going with you??

Tanya - brilliant to hear that you are beyond the first 12 weeks, that's great news! I can feel your happiness from here watching your babies grow!

Re - the sperm - I here ya!! I know a friend in a lesbian relationship that didn't go through the clinics at all and arranged with a male friend to impregnate her partner - quick, simple and no rigmourale (well maybe the turkey baster). But I don't think that would work for us, particularly as I have PCOS. Also the non-official side of doing it her way freaks me out a little. I'd rather ensure everyone knows their roles and that the sperm is safe, fraidy cat that I am...

Re - IUI - after the last week in November I'm guessing. Obviously will depend on the 'genetics' counselling that I just found out about that will happen after SD's last blood test. (Oh, sorry, I've whinged about that already. Obviously it has to be done, but would really have loved to know about it earlier...)

Kery - great news about finding a clinic with donors!! Good luck with everything!!

Hope to hear from you all soon...

Hi Everyone,

Hi Gargy - Its good things are moving along, but I can see where it must be difficult to remain patient, there are so many formalities but your patience and perserverance will pay off! (that patience will come in handy with a toddler later on) January/ February is great, maybe you'll start off the new year with wonderful news!!

Hi Tanya, its so great to hear that you are doing well, will you please give us an update after your next scan? Would love to hear how the babies are progressing, what a wonderful and exciting (process scary too I bet). If you find out the gender of the babies fo you plan to tell anyone?

Hi Kery,
You must also be very excited! Was having to do IVF a disappointment to you? I know it can be a very intense process (physically and emotionally) but maybe you will end up with some extra embryos either for second try (hope you won't need that) or for siblings??? (always thinking ahead  ).

I am feeling so much better these days. I was on an antibiotic (actually 2 of them) for about 30 days. They were very strong and I believe they did knock the Lymes disease out of me! About 2 weeks from the start of the anti biotics the facial paralysis showed a large improvement. Then after some physical therapy I am almost back to normal - some minor effects still show. It was very tough but I have to say my recover has been much better than some people I have heard of.

Now, since I am recovering, I started thinking of the emryo adoption we are going to pursue in a couple months (once I am fully recovered) and have gotten a pit in my stomach over it; perhaps fear of the unknown? I had that feeling when we were considering DS but since that worked out so well I would not have thought those feelings would repeat. Oh well thought it was interesting.

Glad to hear from everyone!

Hi girls

Gargy I am so glad that you are finally on the mend. It sounds like you have had a real hard time. Thats great that the new medication has worked for you! How long do you have to take it for? What is the process for embryo donation is it a long one?

I have found out that we have to do an ivf cycle to use donor sperm. I was hoping to do a diui only because we have spent so much money on ivf and now we have to pay for another cycle. Nevermind I'm not complaining and I am glad that we are able to start cycling soon. We are just in the process of picking from the donor list. My son had enough of being dragged back and forth to clinics and our new clinic is even further away so he's not going to be happy!

Hi everyone!!

Donna - A collegue of mine at a previous workplace had something similar to the disease you have just suffered. I can remember his left cheek was completely paralysed. I think the facial paralysis was the most painful part for him as he trained sales reps and both his appearance and ability to speak well were very important to him. I'm glad that you have got through this with only minor effects still showing. I hope it disappears soon. I feel for you, after seeing what this man went through.

I know that pit of fear in the stomach - I think it happens everytime you jump into the unknown. I've been suffering a little from it myself - having both DH and our SD in the room on Wednesday made me have that horrible feeling - am I really doing the right thing here? I think they always happen - to pull you up and make sure you know what you are doing. Otherwise you stay a reckless teenager for the whole of your life - they have no fear at all. (not all of them - just the reckless ones)

Kery - I think you've mixed me up with Donna! No, I'm quite fine physically at the moment, all my issues are in my head!!

Poor DS - but hopefully this will mean a new sibling for him! Not that you can tell him that obviously, hopefully he will get used to it. Is there anything that you can take with him to distract him from the journey?

Good luck picking the donor!!

sorry donna and gargy gee I'm not even on any meds to use for an excuse!!!

Yea I bought him a portable playstation to try and distract him!! I think it's more the rushing around in the mornings and waking him up really early in the mornings. The last time we were there he said loudly "why are there so many women here, don't boys need there blood checked". You get that sudden stare from the other women and then the slight grin.

Well I am back from camping and I survived. My muscles are very sore from hiking all over Gods country but other than that I am doing OK. Not much sleep in the tent so I am about ready for a nap...

I had another u/s Friday and ever thing looks good...the tech was the sucky one who doesnt take her time at all and even try to get good photos but anyhow she thinks one baby might be a girl....not sure though. They were moving around like crazy and kicking each other!!! It was funny. Other than that I have a complete placenta previa...on restrictions at work and such. Things are looking good and both babies are progressing at the same rate.. We are looking at possibly doing a C-section around Christmas depending on my BP and such....

Kery
I let my DH pick out "himself" out of the catalog! LOL He felt a part of the process and I think that it made him feel better about things.

Gargy
It would be weird to have the donor guy in the room with me and my guy! I would feel strange....Oh well. Getting your baby soon and that is what matters!!! November is coming up fast girl!

Donna
Glad to hear that you are feeling better. That is great that you are on the mend and one step closer to your baby! Woo Hoo!!!!
