Wahoo! I have changed the title of this thread so that the October girls feel welcome too! everyone is welcome here! :P

mjay - wow, great follie growth! awesome! one of those little follies has the beautiful little egg that will someday be your little miracle!

Karling - WELCOME! Yes, this can all be overwhelming at first. You will get the hang of everything. One thing that helped me was to keep an IVF calendar. I had one of the desk size calendars taped to the wall. I would write down every injection and the time I did it. I would also write down every medication, acupuncture appointment, yoga session, BDing with my dh. EVERYTHING. I felt more in control that way. mjay mentioned online videos for the injections. the videos are helpful. if your clinic doesn't offer them PM me and I will send you a link to my clinic's videos.

Shelby - Wahoo! Lupron! I think it's great that the kids do you injections. What a way to make them feel involved.

Sangria - love the analogy! also love your name BTW! I'll keep dancing for AF for you!

Shoebox - WELCOME! Great to have you! Can't wait to see you get your BFP!!!!

AFM...not much new. I have to muster the nerve to talk to my principal about my appointments. I'll have to be late to work on the first week back! Oh well, I keep telling myself that one month...one month....I will be in the 2WW and waiting to get my BFP! It'll be here before we know it!

I am almost hesitant to tell my background and the reason I am doing IVF. I posted a couple questions on another site and got blasted because I was not in the same boat as most of the other women. So I am hoping that is not the case here - so far I am amazed by all the positivity and support.

My heart hurts to hear all the infertility issues and struggles that you have all went through. I thought for sure I would have a very hard tie getting pregnant as well. It took my mother 8 years to have me and for some reason 4 out of 6 of my cousins on my mothers side have had to have some kinda of treatment to get pregnant. It was not the cause for me we got pregnant relativly soon. After a miserable pregnancy (but i would rather have a miserable one then none) we had our son.

When he was 9 days old we got a call from the doctors saying that he had Cystic Fibrosis. We had no idea that either of us were even carriers. There is no family history so we didnt even think to get tested. So this last year and a half has been filled with hospital stays/visits, chest therapy twice a day everyday, nebulizers every day, nutrision issues, and enzymes all day long. It is hard to know that we brought this little boy into the world with a life shortening disease that he will battle everyday. Knowing that there is a way to have another child without the disease is a miracle. If we were to get pregnant on our own again there would be a 25% chance that the child would have CF. After a lot of thought about what to do - not have any more kids, adopt, chance it, or do IVF with PGD - we have decided to do IVF.

So that is my story. I would not change a thing in the world for my son he is my heart, he is everything to me and I do have a lot of HOPE that there will be a cure found in his lifetimes. It is up to me to keep him as healthy as possible till that day comes. I feel terribly guilty that I was able to have a child and there are so many amazing and fully deserving women out there that have not had their little miracles yet. If you do not want me to post here I will FULLY understand. I know if I was not able to have a child I would have a hard time hearing about someone else who was able to. Expessially on a site that is designed to connect you with other women with the same troubles. That being said... I hope you will keep me. I will be going through the same process as you will and am scared, and confused and really could use soe friends like you all.

Thanks for "listening."

I'm trying to understand why you got "blasted" on the other sites. In my opinion, there are many different reasons that couples pursue IVF, but one common one: To create a beautiful life to love and nurture regardless of the circumstances. And from what you have described, you have/are facing a different and more challenging situation than most of us on this board. You already have a child-that is a blessing. But you shouldn't be condemned for that. There are several women on here who already have children whether it be from natural or artificial means and they want another one. I think that is wonderful and I would never think any less of them for that! Heck, depending on how many embies I can freeze, I may go for # 5 later in life! LOL! My point is, don't worry about criticism here. We are in the same boat regardless of where our port of call was. We are here to support, educate, and celebrate all the emotions we go through, and believe me, it will range from one end of the spectrum to the other. I/we are here when you need us and even when you don't. We will get through this together.

I hope this made 1/2 the sense to you when you read it as it did in my head. My brain works faster than my fingers.

I wish much love and luck to all of us.

Karling - ((HUGS)) thanks for sharing your story. I think this thread is full of understanding women. We are all in this boat for various reasons and one is no more right or wrong than another. I hope you feel safe and comfortable on this thread. I/we are glad to have you!

Shelby - tonight is your first injection, right!? Wahoo! One day closer to your BFP! I can't wait for all of us to post our beta numbers! :D

Michele - to change the title of the thread the original post must be edited. So since I created this thread I had to log in, go to the original post, click edit (which I believe is on the right hand side of the message), type in the changes, and then hit submit. Did that make sense? It was super easy!

AFM, I woke up with a stupid urinary tract infection today. I am so annoyed and aggravated! I started antibiotics and I am really hoping they won't have any effect of my other meds. I emailed my IVF nurse and since I am suposed to take my last BCP tonight she said it shouldn't be an issue.

Wolffie - Actually I start Lupron tomorrow night. I wish it was tonight, but I guess I'll make it another day. And I am SO SORRY about your UTI. Starting @ age 14 I would have bouts of frequent urination, burning, and utmost PAIN about 2-3 times a year. I mean, pain so bad all I could do was sit on the toilet and cry! (sorry if TMI) I'd go to the Dr. and they would check my urine and there would be no sign of infection. I spent 15 years dealing with it until FINALLY a friend of mine suggested I lay off the caffeine. I couldn't believe it! 6 months went by and no pain! Turns out the caffeine caused spasms in my urethra and bladder (not to mention I was having so many PVC's they put me on a heart monitor). Now my house is full of decaf tea, decaf coffee and I usually only drink water or kool-aid with a very rare Sprite. You may actually have a true UTI, but that's another thing you might want to consider if you have them frequently.
Did you read the last section of the list? I changed it yesterday. Just a little more incentive for us!

Shelby - LOVE the addition to the list! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! I actually haven't touched caffeine in years. The only thing that I really ever drink is water with the exceptional decaf soda once in awhile. I got into that habit during my first cycle and it stayed with me through pregnancy and nursing. I used to get UTI's a lot (that is when I was a caffeinated smoker!). The last one I had was when I was pregnant. Luckily, I had some antibiotics on hand so I started those this morning and picked up a gigantic container of cranberry juice. I hate that I am taking something in addition to the fertility meds. I am so worried that the antibiotics may screw things up. Oh well, nothing I can do about it.

Okay, tomorrow is the big day! Well, you are still one day closer to your BFP!

karling- who gives a sh** what other people say about your reasons for IVF. i think what you are doing is very brave. GOD gave us dr's, science and technology for reasons like this. i know people who knew they had genetic diseases and had multiple children that now suffer with the diseases. i see your efforts as trying to give your children the best life possible. if i was in your position, i would do the same thing. like shelby and wolffie said, we are all here for the same reason and we will support you. good luck and GOD bless.

wolffie- so sorry about the UTI. hang in there! fortunately this was b4 while you are on BCPs.

shelby- glad you're starting lupron tomorrow. praying for a speedy suppression for you!

afm, got bw and u/s tomorrow and i'm nervous. hopefully all those follies are growing and my E2 levels are where they should be. will keep you posted.

Jaydentd - You're too sweet  . That's awesome about the party. I bet he enjoyed it. Sorry about the BCP. Girl, I know how you feel. I was miserable, but it will pass.

Mjay - GL with the u/s and b/w today. Pop in and let us know how things look.

Wolffie - I hope your UTI passes quickly. I understand about the taking something else while doing this, but I'm sure you will be fine.

Firesauce, Malya324, Miyaya, Prayin, Rose, Sharishu, Stlgirl, & Turtle.... How are you??? For those ladies who will have October cycles, the name of this thread has been changed, so welcome home! :D

AFM - Going to take my first shot tonight after the boys get home from their mom's. AFTER a little instruction lesson of course! I'm sure they will do great.
