Hello my friends
Hope everyone is doing well and all geared up for Thanksgiving! Thanks for all the words of encouragement on the gestational diabetes. Still not under control but they think (fingers crossed) that with the new medicine dosage that it will do the trick! I tell you though, keeping track of sugars, what Im eating, pills, timers...and here I was looking forward to eating a little bad without the guilt! I guess not. It could always be worse though and as long as my little ones will remain unaffected that its all good :)

Purple-How did your sugar test go? Thanks for thinking of me while you were drinkning that wonderful drink! Really they couldnt make something a bit better tasting. Maybe it just seemed so bad because it was warm.

Julia-Your picture is too cute! You have the perfect little bump. Isnt it great to see the little cribs all set up. I go in there a few times a day and just take it all in. Im still just so in shock and so happy that it still doesnt seem real. Even though I have this growing belly and can feel them fighting in there sometimes it still seems like a dream. As fo rthe weight Im up to 35 pounds I wasnt small by any means to begin with so my doc wanted me to max out at about 35 pounds doesnt look like that will be happening though! However I didnt gain any weight since my last appointment 2 weeks ago.

PA-I had my 1st L&D trip too. Ever since the change in my diet the little ones havent been moving around as much so my OB told me to go in and get monitored. Better to be cautious. Glad I got a chance to see the rooms and meet the nurses who were all awesome! How have you been feeling? Hope you are taking it easy. Have you thought of any names yet fo rlittle baby girl?

Lisa-Sorry to hear that you werent feeling so well. I hope that you continue to feel better each day!

Jamila-Im sorry you were having a rough time of it too! The hospital, A pump and everything my word! I'm glad to hear that you are a bit better too!

Mev-My Twin how are you? Have you been feeling ok? Has the swelling gotten any better?

AFM-Saw my little ones yesterday. I was pretty nervous when they did the measurements. I wasnt sure how/if the g/d has affected them. She is in the 39th percentile for weight and length at 1.14lbs and he is significantly bigger in the 55th percentile at 2.6lbs. I was nervous that there was (what I thought) such a big difference but the Maternal Fetal Medicine Doctor and my OB both said that it was completely normal that I shouldnt worry at all. So I'll try not to! The MFM doc said that they were both on track to be super tall! DH is almost 6'4 and she thinks they will be close to his height judging by their femer bones and other measurements! So that means everyone will be taller that me by over a foot!

Off to get something to eat. Talk to you ladies soon.

julia - this was the first ultrasound we have had since the anatomy scan at 18months. My OB doesn't really do a scan at the office unless they see a problem. I will have another scan in about a month. Don't stress about your weight, at my last weigh-in 28 weeks I had gained 41lbs. With the first set of twins I gained 70lbs, and lost it all within a year and a half. I am a firm believer in eating when your body says it needs food. Your goal is two healthy babies and if you need to eat, then eat. Fresh and healthy food is great for you and your baby.

kitty - sorry to hear you are struggling with your diabetes still. I really hope the new medicine works for you. I am sure that it is really hard to deal with what you are eating and pills and timers, but what you are doing for those two babies is amazing! My sugar test went fine. Your OB needs a kick for making you drink it warm...gross, ours chills it in the fridge. There are also two flavors, I prefer lemon/lime to the orange one. I wouldn't worry about one being bigger than the other, my boys both times have been bigger. When they were born William was almost 2lbs bigger than Hannah. Now at 3 he is almost 10lbs bigger than she is=) Also remember the measurements have some margin for error.

AFM - I had to start the iron supplement this week, I hate hate hate it. It just makes my stomach feel awful. I may call next week and see if there isn't something else.

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Purplefish - your picture look great! You are definitely at the basketball stage :D Isn't it incredible to see how our bodies know exactly what to do to take care of those babies and let them grow? I am constantly amazed at it, they don't call it a miracle of life for nothing :)

KittyMom - Hope your new medicine doasage is doing the trick, and yay for babies measuring on schedule! I did not realize they could already tell how tall the babies would end up being, that's great!

Pa-fa - I read about your mom in the Winter thread... So sorry to hear about what you had to go thru. DH's mom had MS too, it's such a horrible disease. DH's mom would act the exact same way as your mom... We lived in NC and she in Las Vegas, so we tried to get her to move near us and she did not want to be a bother. DH ended up doing a lot of emergency flights to go take care of her after episodes like the one you just went thru. It's so hard to have to see your parents lose their capabilities and have to treat them like kids. DH's mom wanted to keep her independance so kept driving way longer than she should have (with hand controls for the break & accelerator) and got her foot stuck on the accelerator (b/c the pedals still worked too) and drove thru the wall in her garage into the spare bedroom. That was not a fun phone call to get. We ended up hring private care thru an agency (at really really high rates) so she could stay home but not hurt herself, then after a couple of months we were able to hire the girl direct and paid her cash, that became much more affordable. I hope you can find a solution that works for you or your mom - have you looked into MS group homes? The MS society may be able to help you find some. I can't imagine going through all that stress during your pregnancy... Hope you had a relaxing Thanksgiving to recover from it all,,,

AFM - We spent the week in Las Vegas with my DH's 93-yr old grandfather, his uncle & aunt and brother. It was nice to be around family... Everyone is really excited about the twins. Travelling really kicked my butt, I was wiped out after the 5 hour flight. We took it pretty easy once we were there -we hung out w/ DH's grandpa at his retirement facility, took him out to the casino (thank god for the new non-smoking zones!) and did some shopping. We did go to see the Beatles Cirque du Soleil show, Love. It is AWESOME, I highly recommend it. I did not want it to end, and have been humming beatles song ever since. I don't know if it's the music, lights or my own excitements, but the twins were both awake and kicking the whole time, as if they were dancing & enjoying it too! One of the characters on the show was pregnant, and we could not figure out if the actress was also pregnant or if it was just her character. The whole time I kept thinking "her bump is as big as mine and she is dancing around that stage like it's not even there". I ended up asking her as she danced by us and we shook her head "no", big sigh of relief :D Her costume was so good, in some scenes the front of her bare belly was exposed and you could have sworn it was real!
Question for you... I have been having a really hard time with bras... I used to be a 34C and am now up to 40D. Half way thru the day I get really bad pain in the ribs just under my breasts, as if 40D was too small. I bought extenders to make the 40 go a bit longer ways, but it's still painful, especially after I eat, as if my stomach had moved up my rib cage. I feel so oppressed that I have to take it off so I can breathe, which in turns gets very painful b/c those 40D (.)(.) aren't light... Anyone else having that issue and how are you dealing with it???

Healthy baby vibes to everyone!
Julia

Julia - it sounds like you had a a great trip! I forget which week they say that the babies can hear outside noises maybe your little ones were rocking out =) I am sorry to hear about your bra issues, no fun! I switched to a bra with no underwire, so that when my belly rubs up against it, it doesn't kill me. It isn't as much support, but it is a lot more comfortable. You might also try a night-time nursing bra, they are super comfy, but again they aren't as supportive (but better than nothing).

Rio - I sent you a PM too! I am so thrilled for you!

I just had an ultrasound today! Baby girl is 4lbs 1 oz and Baby boy is 4lbs 8oz. I couldn't be happier! Great weights for both of them and at this point they gain 1/2lb a week so they have the potential to both be over 7lbs if I go full term. The real surprise is that they are both head-down! My doctor didn't think they would both turn, so he wanted me to go ahead and schedule a c-section, now there is a very good possibility that they will let me try for a VBAC, so keep your fingers crossed! I would love to not have another c-section. 6 more weeks to go!

Hi All -Nothing new with me. My belly is huge already and baby boy is kicking away. I'm 27 weeks today. Only a couple more months to go . I can't believe christmas is almost here. This year is sad for us since the murder of my brother. My parents haven't been well. Life can change in an instant. It has been a stressful pregnancy with family stuff. Just have to look froward to the good things like my DD is soooo excited for Christmas :)

Franca - Welcome I think I will be towards the end of February sometime. I'm having a prescheduled c-section. I have to wait to pick the date. How is everything with you ?

PA FA - Hope your mom is okay. My mom also suffers from MS. She has had it for 30 years. She still walks but barely. Total fall risk but they moved near my sister for help years ago. I feel guitly I can't help much being in another state and all. Get her one of those medical alert necklaces, my mom has fallen several times and been on the floor for hours. If you ever have any :?: let me know :D

Hello ladies

Julia-I can sympathize with the bra issues! I was top heavy to begin with (42DDD) and at about 22 weeks I started to get that same pain you described. I was so uncomfortable, I decided to try and change bras since they had grown considerably. I ended up with a 42H...didnt know that was even a size and now at almost 30 weeks I could go up another size. I was wearing sports bras around the house but now I may as well have nothing on since these have no support. I asked my OB about the pain and he said that there are nerved in the spot where I was having the pain and that with everything moving around and growing that they could be getting pinched. I wish I had some better advise for you :(

PA-Sorry to hear about your mom. I cant imagine the amount of stress you must be under. Hang in there.

Franca-Welcome to the Feb group! We are only a few days apart. Although I dont think the twins will make it to their Valentines Day due date. Do you know what you are having?

Purple-Coming down the home stretch! I cant believe how close you are!!!!!!! I hope that you can have a VBAC. How are you feeling these days?

AFM-Nothing too new. Had a non stress test yesterday. Both little ones are doing great. Today I started to get this horrible pain in my belly button? Anyone else? I dont dare look it up online because everytime I do look something pregnancy related up it ends up scaring the crap out of me! Other than that I have nothing to report :)

I hope everyone is feeling well!

Hello mammas

Mines a miracle story really, i had ivf and fell pregnant and miscarried at 6 weeks then fell pregnant natrually straight away. God really does work in werid and wonderful ways :D . I'm due on the 19th but as my husband is a Doctor were hopeing to have a c-section. He use to work at the same hospital where i'm having my child. (its a girl and her name is Elizabeth Maria)
We will know on the 20th of December. Nope its not because i'm too posh to push more like to chicken too lol!!!!So hopefully i get to see my princess that little bit earlier :D ..Iv been fine apart from the odd aches and pains lately and the feeling that she wants to burst out of my belly, my tummy feels so tight and hard sometimes does anyone else get that? I think its where she has settled comfortably and where she makes me uncomfy
Also i had my tripple bloodtest results back at 3 months saying that baby is 1 in 45 downs which we didn't want the amnio because we don't care what she is as we love her no matter. We are being looked after by the UCH fetal medicine hospital where measurememnts have been normal. Still won't know until shes in my arms. I have my last appointment there on Tuesday so please god they will come back perfect results again.

Hope you girls have a lovely weekend
F
