Nancy - My clinic does what they call "mock transfers." Mine went really smoothly - then the actual transfer was a trainwreck! So I don't know how much good they actually do, but I guess if problems come up in the trial run they will be prepared.

Franny - I am in Bourne and work in Woods Hole. We look happy because we LOVE the water! It comes with some dangers though... The pic below is standing in my Nana's yard during Hurricane Bob in 1991 - which is why we are taking this seriously enough to prepare for the worst even though Earl is most likely not going to hit us that hard. If you look carefully to the left you can see the top of a parking sign on the other side of the street.

Hello everyone!!
I am brand new at all this forum stuff so please forgive me.
I'm not even sure if this is the group I fit in or not.
I'm currently at the end of my 2ww with my first ivf.
I'm scared to death of my blood test which is on Friday.
We have been ttc for 4years and it has been a long and painful journey. I often find
myself reading these message boards and not knowing how to sum up my own
journey. But here I am...
Me: 25 mild pcos
DH: 26
TTC: 4 1/2 years

Lou- I hope you have a great time in NYC! DH and I want to travel to Chicago and NYC some day but with this whole IVF thing that might be awhile off.

Franny- WHOOO HOOO for starting meds tonight! Are these your stims? It does sound like they are loading you up but I have a good feeling about this and your new RE. Cant wait to hear how you do.

Karin- It is so awesome that your RE likes your donor and thinks you are such a good match. I hope the legal stuff is a breeze and you guys can start cycling really soon. Do you live close to your donor? Do you get a chance to talk to her or is it a "closed" type of donor program?

Krys- Welcome and I hope that you get great news on Friday! How many embies did you transfer?

Nancy- My clinic did a mock transfer with me before I started any of my injectibles. They did one with my last cycle too. I'm glad you enjoyed the class and will start your BCP soon. I will start doing my AF dance for you.

Ryann- I'm glad you arent feeling any of the OHSS symptoms but I know they usually get worse after the ER and if you get pregnant. I still have my fingers crossed that you, Tammy, and me will have our ER and ET done around the same time.

Wondercat- I'll keep my fingers crossed that your hubby gets that great job. I know how hard it can be as my DH has been waiting to hear about a job opening that he really wants in another department at his work. Let us know if he gets that interview.

DCmama I really hope those symptoms is telling you that a bun is growing in your oven. Have you thought about POAS? I think that Monday would be fine to get your beta since that's technically 15 days and it will be great to celebrate your BFP with your MIL

Klinger- Thanks for adding me to the list and for keeping up with it!

Ok I'm still trying to catch up with some of you so I apologize for not getting to everyone.

AFM- Dr office just called and my E2 came back at 252 so they are having me keep everything the same. Dr seems very happy with how things are going. Nurse didnt give me a break down on the follies but said I had around 15 "normal" ones with a couple smaller ones lagging behind. She said this is good because OHSS is always a concern with me. My next SnS is Friday and hopefully I can find out more about where they are at.

Hey Teressa,

thanks for sending the luck my way...
I need all that I can get.
I had two embryos transfered, they had a big
long speal about how they didn't want to put
three in because I'm so young and there really
isn't a reason that I'm not getting pregnant already..
So they would only put in two. But they are great
quality and we had seven left to freeze..

Hi girls it looks like a lot is happening

Wondercat---I hope DH gets the job because I can totally relate. My DH works 43 miles away from home and so from the time he leaves until he returns in the evening his day is 11 hours. And yay for doing an FET with us in October

Lou---- I am not sure how we will be doing the FET yet (tomorrow we will discuss it) my concern is that I had a terrible reaction to Lupron so RE feels he it is not the right med for me but maybe that is only the case for fresh...also how long did you have to take bcp's? We will have 4 great frosties 1 A+ and 3 A blasts and I am hoping that since success rates are lower with FET they will let me transfer 3.
Franny----it is so great to see your beautiful face on the pics I am so excited that you were able to start and yes this time it will work...I am keeping my fingers crossed for you

Krys---welcome and good luck friday

Karin I am so excited for you and the fact that your donor is so great good luck!!

klinger thank you so much for keeping up this list and you can move me to the "Waiting for AF" part now

AFM Finally AF came so now we just need the next one which should be about 3 weeks for me....I am very excited to get started. I went with my sister to her ultrasound today (she begged... I am not a masochist) and saw her perfect 12 week old baby. while I am sooooooo happy for her I came hope a cried because we were only 2 weeks apart in July... well I am staying positive thatt next time will be our time. Anyways I cannot wait for the appt with the RE tomorrow to see what he says

Franny -- Thanks for the NYC tips! I'll let you know if we make it to your spot!

Annashope -- Lupron isn't for me on a fresh cycle either. I get under or oversuppressed I guess. But I have to use it on a FET to keep from developing a cyst and ovulating. I am on BCP's for a total of 19 days. Started on 8/22-9/9. I start 20 units Lupron on 9/7 and go for a baseline on 9/17. If my hormone levels are showing suppression and I don't have any cysts, then I will start Estrace 2mg twice a day and increasing to three times a day. I will have a lining check on 10/1 and 10/8. I think I stay on Lupron pretty much this whole time. If all is good, I start PIO a few days before and go for FET on 10/15. My beta should be 9 days post transfer. I only have two blasts to transfer or I would ask to do three. At my clinic, you can only do three if you are over 35 with more than one failure. I guess that would be me. If that's not you.... then be careful. I don't know your age or how many transfers you've had already. My RE is pretty strict with staying with the SART guidelines. Your grading scale must be different from the one my clinic uses. Mine gives a number for how far along the embie has progressed and a letter for the inner mass (baby) and trophectoderm (placenta). "4" is for a fully expanded blast with thinning shell. And the "B's" are for how packed the cells are. My last FET I only had one frosty that was a 3BC and I was told that was a good blast. These two I've got are 4BB's so I'm hoping that means they are really good....lol.

krys -- Welcome. Sounds like you have a very good chance at success. Look forward to hearing about your BFP soon!

hopeforbabies -- Glad stimming is going so well. GL at SnS on FRiday!

wondercat -- awesome pic from hurricane Bob in 1991! Praying for your DH to get the job. Sounds like it would be awesome for you guys.

nancy -- You'll soon be on your way to a BFP! Glad you enjoyed your class. My clinic did do a "mock" transfer on me when I was a new patient. My cervix was super tight and he had to stretch it out. Did NOT feel good. But... my actual ET's all went super smooth since then so it was good to do I guess.

karin -- Wow... congrats on 7 Antrals! I agree.... go with the donor cycle. You are already sooo excited. Don't change the game plan now. But maybe down the road.... after your first child.... there's still a chance for you to go again with your own eggs?

Hello All,

Ok I had my RE appt today. Well everything look as if we were going to ER on Friday but plans have changed. He wants me to go on meds one more day so ER will be on Saturday. Blood work looks good but he wants another day of maturing. We were so happy but when we got this news we kind off went down. But I know its better they mature and we just have to be patient. Thanks everyone. Victoria

Krys - Welcome to the Fall thread and we'll be wishing you lots of good luck on Friday! I've got you added for tomorrow's list and definitely keep us posted on Friday's results! :)

Nancy - My clinic does a mock transfer too. Once I get AF, I'll schedule that along with the saline u/s.

DCRunningMama - Glad you joined us over here on the Fall thread! Hopefully this cycle worked beautifully and you won't have to worry about the embies that didn't make it to freezing. Gotcha added for tomorrow's list with your beta on 9/10 but if they do move it up, just let me know and I'll update the list. Can't wait to hear your great results!!

Karin - Nice AFC! But I agree - you've invested so much of your head & heart in the donor process, I think it's a great idea to stay on that path.

Wondercat - Lots of thoughts and prayers going out for DH's potential job! And wow, what a pic that is from the hurricane! DH is Army Reserve and when we lived in RI he drilled out near Bourne. We LOVE the cape!

Franny - YAY for starting stims today!!! Woo-hoo!! And cycle 6 is going to be the one Franny!

Ryann - Good luck with your SnS tomorrow! I'll be hoping right along with you that you're still good to go for ET this cycle.

Victoria - I know it probably is a bit of a let down when you get excited for a certain day, but that additional day of maturity might be just what they need. I'll update the list for your new ER date.

AFM, talked to the IVF nurse coordinator today, YAY, another small step! We're going for our IVF group session 9/20 and she's mailing out the slips today for our infectious disease bloodwork so we can get that done. Little steps, but each one makes me feel like we're making progress here.

Wondercat - I am in MA too. Near Boston though. PMA for DH's job is being sent!

Franny - I am glad things are moving so fast for you! I wish they were for me too!

Ryann - Maybe all that Gatorade is helping and you will be able to do the transfer after all.

Krys - Welcome and good luck on Friday!

Lou - Have a great weekend in NY!

Tammy - How is everything? I saw some new pics you posted on facebook and Zack is adorable!

AFM - On Monday my RE said he would do a D&C in October since that was his 1st surgical opening. The nurse called today to schedule and it is October 28!!!! I was thinking earlier in October! Then I wait 2 weeks to start stims, so now I bet my ER will not be until the 1st week of December. So far away! And I hate the winter and I hate waking up at 6AM in the freezing cold dark to drive 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back. Yikes! It better work after doing this. When I did the D&C from the miscarriage It was not bad at all. But I guess this is more involved since the nurse told me the procedure will take an hour, and to expect to be at the office for 3 hours that day. And did I tell you guys that my RE teaches at Harvard so he asked if it was ok for students to watch and if he could photograph lol lol? And I said yes?!?! He said it won't show my face. I am laughing as I type this. Who in their right mind signs a consent to photographs of their Vajayjay? And allows more people to come in the room and watch? Let's have a party in there while I am passed out. This will be my 5th time this year getting put under. That is the only good part lol!

Hi All,
I guess I'll start here now. I'm from the Summer cycle group so I'm jumping over. I'm definately not ready for Fall yet. Glad to "see" familiar faces here. I'm also looking forward to meeting new IVFers. Thee support here is incredible.
Here's my story which some of you already know: Did one unsuccessful cycle in July. They only got one imature egg. I'm on cycle 2 now. Started Lupron yesterday and starting Menopure and Follistim tomorrow. Went for baseline today and I was told everything looks good. Unfortunately my age of 46 is a huge factor. We'll see how things go this time. I'm looking forward to chatting with everone. I'll do personals later.
Love hugs and baby dust to all,

Alright so there has been a change of plans.
I'm on my way right now to get my beta.
I am terrified. I want so badly to believe but
it's so hard after being disappointed so many
times. Hats off to all you ladies that have done
so many ivf cycles you're such an inspiration
to people like me to keep on going. I have had
no out of the ordinary symptoms so that makes
me scared to.. Well thanks for letting me vent, hopefully
my next post will be a positive one. No turning back now!

Hi everyone,
Today is my birthday and I turned 31 which is kinda of depressing. As you are growing up you have all these plans and one of my plans was to be married and have children by the age of 30. Well 30 came & went and now I am 31. You spend years on birth control so you don't end up pregnant by the wrong guy. You finally find the most sensitive caring man you could ever dream of (marry him) and now there is a road block of becoming pregnant. I am feeling a little bum and just needed to express it. On a happier note my sweet DH left me a bday card to wake up to that said I was not a year older but a year sexier :) We had to get another loan for the next cycle,so we decided with the extra money we would take another beach trip to Gulf Shores, AL. I told my DH we were turning into beach whores..LOL Hope everyone has a good day and I will try to get to personals later.

Riogirl – wow, that is something I never thought about. I’m glad that your DH is healthy now, but sorry that it caused IF for you. You both have been through so much. If you don’t mind sharing, what kind of cancer did DH have? I am not taking any additional supplements beside a multi-vitamin and folic acid…let me know what you find out!

Lauren1171- I hate waiting too! Ugh. So much waiting! Maybe they will have a spot open up? Can you keep calling them? Oh my gosh, you are brave! That’s really awesome that your doc teaches at Harvard…he’s super smart. You are literally going to have a party in your pants!

Wondercat – yes, I’m sort of an addict when it comes to POAS. I am traveling for work on 9/7 and 9/8, so that will keep me away from the evil sticks. I will probably POAS the morning of my beta…just so I can prepare myself for the worst. I hope you have a little girl too! One of each would be such a blessing! Look at your wonderful pic! So awesome! I am sending tons of prayers to your husband about that job. What an amazing opportunity!

Lou – You are in my thoughts every day and I love you tons! You are going to have so much fun in NYC! Remember lots of the specialty drinks…hopefully they have the melon balls again…delicious!

Annashope- I am so glad to hear that your levels are down and you’re able to start again! Woo Hoo!

Lauren319- How are you doing? Why are you second guessing your decision?

Klinger and Ryann- that is too funny about DH and the bathroom. I would be dying!!!!

Ryann- So sorry to hear about the delay, but sounds like a really smart choice and I’m super glad that your right ovary woke up! Thank goodness that ovary got on the bandwagon!

Franny – Look how cute you and DH are! And piper too! Love it! I am so glad that your appointment went well and that you are starting! Man, we are going to have to work extra hard this cycle to keep you out of crazytown with all those meds! But, I feel great results coming your way! How exciting!

Tammy- I literally stimmed in 6 days and I was on Menopur! Looks to me that they found the right protocol for you! It’s totally fine to stim quickly as long as they monitor you every day so you don’t get OHSS. YEAH! such great news! It’s going to be an awesome birthday for Zach and YOU!

Teresa – Hi Friend! I’m so so glad you are here! It’s all happening so quickly for you now! 9/6 will be here before you know it! Grow follies Grow! Sounds like you have lots of good ones in there! Do you have any fun labor day plans?

Karin – This is just the best news ever! See, everything happens for a reason and we just knew that the right donor would find you! I can’t wait for all the updates! It’s weird how you finally have peace with the whole donor thing. You think you could never get there and never feel good about it, but then it feels so right! I know exactly how you feel. I’m really happy that you didn’t decide to do another cycle. I think you are totally right about all of it. Way to go!

DC – congrats on being pupo!! YEAH! Are you going to POAS?

Nancy – Yes, most people have a trial transfer. Not a lot of people are talking about it, because you usually only have to do it one time when you start IVF, so if you are on your second IVF, they don’t make you do it again  I’m so glad that you enjoyed the class and learned a lot! It will all happen pretty fast now!

Krys – welcome! The 2ww is super hard. But, you are almost there! It’s tomorrow! Are you going to POAS?

Klinger – so glad you are moving forward!

Chili – glad to have you here! I am sending tons of positive vibes to you!

Amanda – I’m glad you and DH still find time together even through this horrible process. This is going to be your cycle! Maybe 31 is exactly what you need! A new fresh year. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

AFM: Of course in the dreaded 2WW, is it 9/10 yet? Nope it’s not! So, I’m on the suppositories and the first few days it actually wasn’t that bad, but now it’s kinda gross. And, I’m only on day 4. Yikes. Well, I’m going up to the in-laws cabin this weekend and I’m not really looking forward to it. Usually I have to drink to get through the weekend and of course, I can’t drink now, so that should be interesting! I have lots of great books that should keep me busy! DH and I are going to see WICKED, the musical, on 9/10…funny how that’s my beta day! So, in my always planning fashion, I’ve already been thinking about how fun it would be to tell him over dinner that we are pregnant! Yes, I’m super evil to myself…always getting my hopes up! Hopefully the 3rd time is the charm!

Lots of love to all of you!
