Shell - twins - AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think you might be the only one of us new girls with twins - but there are lots of experts here to help! Tracey??!! Thats SO exciting. Wow :D

Now ladies - PLEASE do not expel me from the board for this but.............having said how "cool" the dopple was. DO NOT GET ONE!!!! I REPEAT DO NOT GET ONE!
Having found heart beat relatively easily the other day - we thought we'd try agin -to show my Mum - no sign of it ANYWHERE. it was AWFUL. We looked for ages. Eventually found it the next morning (in COMPELTELY different place to before!). But its just not worth the stress. Tracey I kep thinking of your warning and you're so right. My Dad is a doctor and he was SO unimpressed with the whole thing and couldn't believe that just anyone is allowed to use them. The thing is I just thought it was a toy and you actually do need to kind of know what you are doing with it!! So its going into a cupboard where I can't find it!!
Not saying I'll never use it again - but I tell you the fear when you don't find a heart beat is MUCH worse than the fun of finding it!

Anyway - its just a health warning - if anyone does get one -DO NOT PANIC if you can't find anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No other news. Just found out that I can't have my nuchal until I get back from holiday :( , but I guess its not the end of the world. :)
cannot WAIT to go away and not have to go to work for a week - YIPPPPEEEE!!!!!! Although just been trying on some of last years summer clothes.......say no more  ! Kaftans for me this year! At least they're trendy!
Really weird though - on the scales I have lost 4 pounds - but where from I have NO idea (no I haven't had a radical hair cut!!), thighs, bum, tummy boobs all bigger. Weird - maybe my feet have gotten REALLLLLY thin
!!!!!!!!!

Tania - are you in the US yet??

Bina - Gem, not long now until your scans!! So exciting!

Tracey - your words of wisdom are spot on as ever - how are you doing?

Hello

Well well well. You go away for the weekend and when you come back Shelie's expecting twins. Many, many congratulations. That's a doubley good reason to take it easy.

Caz - trying really really hard to resist the temptation to say I told you so!! Hope you are a bit more chilled now.

Had a lovely weekend in Switzerland, although the weather was better here. Has anyone else noticed that as the date of your next scan approaches, all your symptoms disappear? Got my 9 week scan on Wednesday and don't feel at all pregnant. The nausea has disappeared. I still feel tired but I am blaming that on the footie!

Anyone else noticed this?

Also found a benefit of being pregnant this morning when I had my bikini waxed and for the first time I didn't scream the place down. Am tempted to have a brazilian now (sorry TMI).

We did tell Caz didn't we.

Don't worry I always had disappearing symptoms - they soon returned
after the scan

Wow, I felt like I was posting to myself on the weekend and when I look after work today it takes me an hour to catch up on posts!!

Thanks so much for the good wishes. Yes Tracey, you told me so, on both counts. I am just so glad you are right. We have been really excited since but some time last night reality struck and I thought 'oh my god, how will I cope with two?!?!' Any good books on being pregnant, giving birth and feeding twins??

Caz, I definately won't be getting a doppler now. I worry about everything so that would just send me over the edge. I scan again next wednesday (23rd) hopefully I will see the heartbeats then.

I haven't put on any extra weight but it seems a lot of my trousers do not fit around the waist anymore. My boobs weigh a ton! I am going to have to get new bras already. I am already a DD so god knows what size they will be when I give birth!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. My dh is english and after quite a few beers with the boys watching the footie he wasn't in the best of moods last night. I'm an aussie so wasn't really fussed who one - better not tell him that though!!

just heard on the radio Jason and vanessa got it on in the house on the weekend. I can't believe I missed it. She said she was so prim and proper she wouldn't do anything in the house in front of the cameras. Will catch up tonight. I think BB is pathetic but I seem to watch it every week night. Oh well.

Hi guys hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine.
I cant wait for my next scan and its 2 bloody weeks away because I havent got any sickness its so hard to believe its growing in there I so hope it is,I'm 11weeks tomorrow nearly past the 12 week point-thank god.
Shellie bet you cant believe it,there is plenty of twin mummies and twin mums to be to give you advice.
Had a lovely meal on sat with his mum, dad, brother and girlfriend it was for his brothers birthday and hes insisted that hes buying the pram I said it didnt matter as that is one thing dh as said I can get what I want so I said if he was buying it I'd pick teh cheapest, but he said he doesnt care how much it is it can be £1000 he will still buy it,so that was a lovely gesture and of course i wouldnt get a pram worth £ 1000 i wouldnt take it out incase it got dirty
I was knackered yesterday ads everyone came back to ours after the meal on sat and didnt leave til 2am and we were awake at 8am as we were both horny but dh still wont do it til after 12 weeks and I bet he wont do it til after the next scan which isnt til I'm 13 weeks :? I'l be a born again virgin the next time we have sex!!   but its so worth it and only a few more weeks to wait.
Caz when are you going on holiday and where atre you going?
Bina cant believe your 12 week scan is in 10 days, are you having the nuchal scan and double bloods done as well??
Fiona glad you enjoyed Switzerland whens your next scan??
We are still undersided about the double bloods and I dont know weater the arrange a private nuchal scan when I aske dh yesterday he said he thinks we shouldnt have any as whats point in creating extra stress but I said as my cousin was born 26 years ago with spina bifada tehy might make me have the blood tests-god decisions decisions... then I think if we pay for a nuchal we might get to see our baby before our 13 week scan so we will have an extra scan!! I think we need to talk about more will pick a time when theres no footy on!.
Did anyone watch bb did you see Shell strip off sat night in the garden we were all watching it live after the meal on sat we couldnt believe it  still dont know who will win they are all mental.
Well I think I've rambled on so much
so I will love you and leave you all
Love Gemxxx

HI there!
Gem - I can't BELIEVE youa re 10 weeks and 6 days -thats SO awesome :D
Shellie - yup I am in the same boat - have a generous D cup ebfore I started - boobs now quite literally taking over the planet. Have NO tops that now just don't look completely obscene and am sure people at work must be womdering why I've suddenly gotten so fat !!
WAY to superstitious to buy any "maternity" clothes yet......anyone else as batty as me....okay no, just checking!

Bit sick today - not as bad as has been though. Work is ABSOLUTE rubbish - can't figure out if its my hormones or whether everyone there is just being REALLY ANNOYING!!!!!!!! Anyway - having to go and sit in the loo quite alot!

Bina are your first to have you nuchal? Exciting!!!!

Fiona - my symptoms COMPLETELY disappear before any tests/ scans and quite often they disappear anyway (especially when I've had the doppler out  ). By the way I PROMISE I haven't used it since the weekend!

Tracey - how you coping in the heat - are those little babies enjoying it??

Nuchal scan booked for 5 July - seems AGES to wait -but I guess itsn't too bad. Hopefully the holiday (week after next, Italy, to anser your question Gem) will make things go quicker. having one scan at 11 weeks (hopefully!) before I go away - so that will hopefully be a bit reassuring
It seems that my clinic do the nuchal and blood together automatically - not 100% sure I want this all done - but well see.

Anyway - no other news. Off to eat my dinner!

Big Xxs

Will get you the names or more importantly the authors of the books - there is a fab one called double trouble, I have one on survivign twins - will get the authors but if you plug them in to Amazon up they pop but as I way will get back to you. Some are very bossy and the double trouble is just fab - you will love it - all the useful stuff like sex and blow jobs and funny stuff as well as serious! Sounds like something out of BB

OMG - BB - what about JAy and Vanessa - all for show of course! And shell and the naked lawn mowering!!!

As for bras - well same problem as was a d cup to start with - motored on to E and F very quickly and then started growing the other say so go back to a D cup but huge on the number!!!

Caz - twinnies are fine int he heat - I am nut brown but struggling - thank goodness it is cooler today! The nuchal and bloods together are fine - just go for it - they do not do bloods with my nuchal as twins!

Bina and Gem - can't believe the time - GEm you made me laugh - it is fine to have sex - surely sex and footie and he is in his element????

Fiona - how are you today?
Love to you all

Hello

Bit late in posting today. Had one of those days. Has anyone else completely lost their memory? I am usually very organised but since becoming pregnant I can't remember anything. DP is already wishing for the dippy Fiona to disappear.

Today I ran out of petrol on my way to the pool. The car said 15 miles to go but two minutes later, nothing. Had to call DP out with a petrol can,. Complete waste of an hour.

Had lunch with a friend who is not only 3 weeks more pregnant than me, but 2 weeks older!!! She is throwing up several times a day and feels awful. Made me feel much better except she left half her lunch and I ate all mine.

Shellie - DO NOT read the thread from Tracey entitled news from Nikola. I did and I wished I hadn't and I'm not expecting twins!!!!!

9 week scan tomorrow. Feeling very jittery as usual. Had to measure boobs this morning as was convinced they had shrunk. Unfortunately, DP caught me. He was much amused until I said it was a shame he wasn't growing in size too!!!!! Not sure what the cup size is now, was a B, but they have grown 3 inches.

Gem - why no sex if you both fanyy it. Tracey is right, as always. It won't do the baby any harm and is one of the few pleasures left to us girls.

Will post after scan if everything ok.

Love Fiona

Good luck with the scan - know what you mean about shrinking boobs before a scan - DH never agreed they had shrunk! What are you like with the petrol - sort of thing I do! We used to measure bump sizes with pieces of Andrex here - all got very silly and I used to find myself doing it until we let it slip by mistake when Nikola and I and our DH's had lunch one day - the look on their faces  so stopped doing it after that - now where is my Andrex?

Let us know how it goes - should all be fine but have everything crossed for you of course

Hello everyone,

Do you mind if I join you on this thread? I have not been on the boards for a while,so just catching up really. I had a scan last Friday after getting a positive on Tuesday. Our consultant said she saw 1 gestational sac & not sure whether its fluid or a bleed in my womb. Shes not sure either whether it was the other embryo. I have to go again on this Friday for another scan to see if anything has changed. She said if it is fluid it could cause complications, so as you can imagine we've been all over the place again.
I feel good, just the norm sore boobies & a bit bloated.Thankfully no bleeding or spotting whatsoever. Just wondered if any of you experienced something like this,& what the outcome was. We are trying to stay very positive cos at the end of the day I am still pregnant.
Sorry to go on.

On a more positive note, many congratulations to Shellie on your news.WOW twins, thats fantastic.

Hope all you Mums to be are feeling great, will get to know you all more as the time goes on.

Take Care
Christina Proud Mum Of Bradley after successful 1st IVF.

Hiya all!
Sorry - been too busy to post, so here's a quick update:
11 weeks today and got nuchal with double-blood booked for 23rd June (that's week 12 - should be OK time-wise, shouldn't it? I keep hearing misleading info from various people; not on this forum obviously!).
My big thing is that I saw the midwife yesterday (as had been told by my GP to make an appointment with her). She was awful!!! She had no interest in me or my pregnancy, was more concerned about whether I had filled in all the correct forms and actually asked me why I had made an appointment with her!!! She didn't tell me anything I didn't know already, was a crap communicator and on top of that was all hot, bothered and sweaty and didn't even wash her hands...overall not very reassuring. I definitely do not want her anywhere near me or my baby! So how do I go about that? Hm!
Please could someone reassure me that I haven't booked the nuchal too early? The midwife said they are done between weeks 14-16 - but nobody else seems to think so. Thing is I can't go the two weeks after because I'll be away for work...!
Sorry to be moaning again, it's not such a big deal - because I have actually been feeling pg due to sickness every morning and my belly getting bigger, so I am actually feeling OK.
Soooo pleased for you Shellie and very glad to hear everyone else is doing well!
Love to you all,

Christina - poor you - should be ok and some of these nurses etc are the prophets of doom  They like to give you the worst of the worst just in case so anything else is an improvement - bet it's another embryo or a small bleed from somethign else - fingers crossed!

Bina - perfect time for nuchal is 12 wks - I had mine at 11 which can be on the early side but these were developed so fine - best time is 12-14 weeks I believe but 15 and 16 are fine then after that too late really! 12 is fine so don't listen to anyone else. As for you midwife - mmm sounds like a right  - they can be awful - I am lucky - mine is a friend! They do improve though some and are a bit jobs worth - at the end of the day it's your decision - you can get another one! Just wait for your nuchal and have a think
Love to all
