You just reminded me to fix my history summary. Thanks!
I am in treatment right now. I'm doing a medicated FET. These are the last of my frozen embryos so, if this doesn't work, I will probably try one more IVF (at a different clinic).

I'm starting injections for FET August sometime on 18th July. Just wondered how people feel on the hormones - I haven't had them before - is it okay? (please don't tell me anything really scary as I'm a fairly nervous sort already!). Vicky.

I'm the nervous sort too so I know how you feel. I assume you're asking about the meds for the FET since you already know what the IVF ones are like.
My protocol is bcp's (no real side effects) then injections to downreg (we use something called Lupron over here in the US but I'm sure it's similar to whatever you use there). You're probably also familiar with the effects of that from your IVF. Then I take increasing doses of estradiol (brand name here is estrace). These are taken orally and the dose is split up throughout the day. I was really worried about having side effects from this drug but I didn't feel too much of anything from it until the last few days when I got up to the highest dose. Then I was having headaches and feeling a little bloated but nothing major. I had read the side effects information that came with my prescription and had convinced myself that I would experience every single one. All that worrying for nothing!
I also had to take antibiotics for a certain number of days during the cycle and a steroid called medrol for a few days (no side effects). 5 days before my transfer I had to start taking progesterone (you probably also used that in your IVF). That was actually the worst for me of the FET drugs because it always makes me very bloated, tired, depressed, gives me stomach upset etc. but maybe that's just how it affects me. At any rate, the FET was MUCH easier than doing the whole IVF procedure. The other nice thing about it is you won't have anywhere near as many Dr.'s appts.
Good luck !!

Thank you for all your info.
I have only done natural cycle IVF (3) - no drugs and one stimulated cycle but using letrozole (hardly anyone has used this) and gonal F so I'm not at all familiar with any of the drugs used in IVF. I'm going to be on Buserelin which I'm guessing is similar to Lupron. I have never got far enough to use the progesterone as in my natural cycles eggs either over fertilised or didn't fertilise. So this is all new for me! I think we are going to be doing this at almost exactly the same time is that right? Love Vicky

I am fine, just want to get going now..... Feeling more positive about getting a BFP this time. It's odd how this positive thing comes in waves. One day I am, one day I ain't for no apparent reason!!!

As Sher says being positive is the first step to getting there. Will keep everything crossed that this time is your time. I'm sure it will be - I just have one of those feelings
Hello Ladies! I thought I would join this group. My name is Tonya. You probably have seen some of my post on the introduction board. Me 27 DH 26 . My estimated et is August 15. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. These BC pills make me so sleepy, hungry, and no energy at all. I was thinking If being pregnat feels like this I'm to have a long road but can't wait to have it. I start my injections on the 23rd of this month.
Day 2 for me, as I said in another thread, it just feels like I have finally made it on the train that kept passing me by... so glad to have started the process - very happy.
Tonya, if all goes by plan I wil have my second ultrasound on 15th August . Still a long way to go yet but let's hope this month will go quickly for both of us and all the other August Buddies too.
Cheers, Tiger
My G'day to LittleP, Sher, Staci, Vicki and all the other August Buddies - yeaaay
